Review:peppersweet says:
so I put on some atmospheric music and came back to read this (pssst: the captain and the hourglass by laura marling)

ahhh that little paragraph aaah. about breathing in time and such (if I read it right...). I just. I can feel it's that awkwardness of being with someone you really like and really want to impress but can't bring yourself to do it out of sheer /awkward/. okay I totally read it wrong but I loved it, yes, I am going to stop typing now.

I love your draco and astoria. you probably know well by now how it's my otp and I love it till the end of time and such, but i think you've just done such a lovely job with their characterisation and it makes me feel all warm inside.

she knew that a simple steeping in a shared human a weakness, a cluelessness, a past that mingled...was more accessible here, staring at the worn elbow of the coat of a man she hardly knew than in any of her other worldly pursuits. - give me this paragraph and let me have it forever.

I love the downtroddeness of this - like astoria knowing draco's lost his job but not wanting to ask him - it's so beautiful and believable (and I'm attracted to the downtrodden like a moth to a flame).

and, ooh, I like how you show draco's changed since hogwarts. this is like...this is like my headcanon draco realised in the most beautiful way. asdfghjkl thank you for writing this C:

I love the ending. ooh. can't even...I don't even know how to describe why I like it but I really do.

I'm sorry this was mostly incoherent but this is one of those fics that you can kind of lose yourself in and now I feel like I've been drawn into this little world and...yeah, just, wow, love this :3

Author's Response: oh dear lord julia how do you expect me to respond to this? also that song is so appropriate to this story that i'm crying silently over here in appreciation to you for bringing it up.

yeah--it's about time as someTHING. that we interact with and in ways, that we /are/. yes, astoria is quite awks. but in a way i find her to be a really beautiful, perceptive person, if not a bit downtrodden. not that there's anything wrong with being downtrodden obviously ♥

yes yes yes I know this is your otp! which is why i appreciate your reviews x infinity. i really wrote this from a desire to get to the bottom of some great mystery but i think i've created something, or depicted something at least, that i'll never understand. it seems quite like it has a life of its own. it's been difficult for me to go back to it and try to wrap it up in a couple more chapters because i know what i had planned to happen but it doesn't quite feel--right?--anymore. these characters are much more alive than i had planned on allowing them to be. they have needs. and i'm just like what. no, do what i want, but they don't listen. #ffwriterprobs

OKAY YOU CAN HAVE IT -puts it in a bow-

i too get a bit, well, attracted to the downtrodden. i'm a very brooding person, especially when i don't have anything to do. take summer, for example. i get really crazy and restless and sad. in this way astoria stems from me, all this idleness, it's getting to her.

no i have received more incoherent reviews, and god i've left much worse, don't even worry. any words from you = ace.
