Omg, I love this. I saw the little summary and I got curious and I adore what you did with these few words. I got such a scene out of them and I love love love your style. Vivid and poignant and it flows all together, and it's built something very memorable in my mind.

Love these two parts especially:
-she gives him everything – sympathy, frustration, sorrow, helplessness – in one word, two syllables, five letters.
-Their bodies blend into one another and their limbs intertwine; they are fused together, bound by the war, by the lives they saved and the lives they lost, by a lifetime of playing as heroes. But it’s time to grow up now.
