Hi Liz! I'm here with your requested review :) I really enjoy reading your work, and I think you have a gift for writing the same ship without making things sound repetitive, so I'm excited that you posted in my thread and gave me a chance to read another one of your Harry/Ginny stories.

I think it's interesting that you worry that this is too "out there" or "risky" (and I'd love to hear as part of your response why you came to that conclusion) because I personally feel like this is the best thing I've read from you so far. The themes I see in your work, especially the ones that revolve around Harry's undying devotion and love for Ginny, seem to me like they fit so perfectly in this story. Moreover, I'm proud of you for tackling a tough issue and dealing with it in a way that seems really realistic to me.

The characterization seems like the strongest element here t me, so I'll focus on that. I felt like both Harry and Ginny came alive for me here. I loved reflecting with Harry on his favorite and most amusing memories of Ginny, of being able to linger in the happy times with him even as things like his childrens' names begin to slip away and out of his memory. It's clear that her presence has made an impact on him, and it has a universal feel to it, like it's the sort of feeling that any person in love could relate to and treasure in a moment like this. That being said, it totally breaks my heart to imagine Ginny not believing him, when I believe him so very much. Again, I think that was realistic, and it must have been tough to write, so kudos to you for handling it with grace.

I know you were a little worried about description, but I think you've got enough in here. To me, this one-shot is driven more by dialogue and plot, and I think I got lost in the memories easily enough without needing much more imagery to pull me along. Overall, the story flows very well, and I didn't notice any major technical errors, so that's lovely.

This is very nice, Liz, and I think you should be proud of it, and yourself for writing it. I can't wait to see what you write next! :)

Great work! I hope this review was helpful.

Author's Response: Hey Amanda, and thank you.

I value your opinions, and you really are just the nicest person ever so I felt as though I had to ask, thank you for filing it so quickly, I'm sorry I took so late to reply.

I felt that this was risky because it's A: Not my normal style, and B: Well what if I messed up the emotions, what if I didn't portray it right, what if it was too off key that he remembered Ginny? I was so worried about it, but I liked it so much that I just posted it.

If you go through many of the Harry and Ginny stories they're usually in a fight, or rocky, or not together. I started writing them because I was so sick a tired of romance stories focusing on the bad, what about the good?

This is why people don't believe in soul mates because we see to much hurt around.

I at first I worried that I didn't have enough memories, but then I realized that he's slowly forgetting them to, he's slowly forgetting her, there isn't much he remembers anymore, and I hate to say that because they mean everything to me, and I don't want him to forget her the girl that lights up his life, as he does for her.

I don't want him to forget, but he is, and it hurts me inside.

Ginny breaks my heart too, but I think she does, she believes him in some way, because she has so much faith in him, that's why she's still talking to him, loving him because she knows her Harry is still in there, she will never leave him.

Thank you, thank you very much. Thank you for being so nice, thank you for being you.

It was, very much so.

Lizzie :)
