Things are changing slowly but surely. Gah, it's still so hard to see Hermione like this. “I’m a horrible mother.” The statement came out on a dejected whisper.

It's interesting how Ginny points out how things have changed. With Draco, in particular of course, but it kind of parallels Hermione in this scene. Look how they've both changed. One for better and one for worse, but hopefully not worse for long. And maybe stronger in the end!

The shared smile! 3 Gives me hope. Ahh.

I love how just taking care of Jack kind of has changed Draco in these subtle ways. It's dramatic but not at the same time. Kind of like this quiet transformation that doesn't really hit until they come out in his actions, like his gentlemanliness. But of course, sometimes it doesn't hold -- I really like that by the way. I like how hard it is for both of them to overcome their prejudices. It's refreshing: there’d be times when he’d have to swallow his words and eat crow. There are parts of him he's not proud of but that still stick with him and he might even have to just lie to get past those parts, but I like seeing that struggle.

So to answer your question, I do love the reaction! ^__^

Author's Response: Yay! I'm glad that this chapter came across to you how I wanted. I definitely wanted to portray the changes, for the better and for the worse. It's hard to write Hermione like this but I kind of have to, you know? I mean its not like she'd be the greatest after Ron died.

I'm glad you're also like Draco's transformation. There's definitely still a struggle of twenty-something years of being an awful person to becoming someone who Hermione and the others could actually STAND being around.
