This story is so addicting! I love it! I could read it over and over and still find it just as fasinating as I did the first time I read it to this point.

I felt so terrible for Nathan and Louis. They just seem like ducks out of water being in Slytherin, but I guess as you made your characters say or -Hat for that matter- know where it is that they should be for whatever reason. I think in regards to Albus he seems to be more misguided. He just seems to cling to Daniel where as Daniel is more harsh than the other three, I think that Albus is playing a game of follow the leader with him. It isn't an intentional thing, but it is more for the attention he gains from it. Being stuck in James' shadow will bring out that need for attention positive or negative I don't think Albus minds as long as it's attention. That is what I am seeing. I am almost paranoid with Daniel though. As I have said in my other reviews there is something going on with him that I cannot place my finger on, but almost sense it.

I really like the Teachers and how they were placing bets. Oh my gosh it was so fun to read in such a high tension moment for these first years. I also thought you did a brilliant job with the Sorting Hat's song. It was very clever and well put together in its combination of the four houses and their qualities.

Greg is awesome. I wish that there were more Teachers like him. He is so relaxed, but makes it a point to get his feelings across through banter and through having to deal with younger kids that could almost drive a person up a wall. I really like the whole "Slytherins Stick Together" it speaks volumes of the way that things have changed and how the tolerance levels of certain acts like bullying are frowned upon.

Author's Response: Thanks very much! I think you have got a brilliant handle on the characters - even diving deep into my subconscious and putting things into words that I didn't even realise were happening ("follow the leader" with Al and Daniel). He has growing up to do, and lots of it.

As for Greg, well, I like to think he's a bit autobiographical. Either he's a bit like me, or I'm a bit like him... Although I don't write the grumpy bits, or the shouting sessions with the photocopier that sometimes convinces me it was sent specifically from Hades to do the opposite of what I want it to...
