Review:Maybe says:
Ohhh, I love this so much already! I'm not usually a Founders reader but this is so interesting and flows really well so that I want to read more. I absolutely love the idea of Helga and Godric growing up together with her working in the kitchens - that's just so Hufflepuff, now we see why her House is her House. I loved seeing the hard-working attitude in her from such a young age and it's different to see Godric as a Lord; in the few Founders fics I've read, Gryffindor's always been a wanderer, or a peasant while Slytherin was the Lord but it's flipped in this and I can totally see Slytherin thinking he's so high-born and to be respected, when in fact he has more lowly origins. I'm also excited about the fact that you gave Gryffindor a Muggle wife and a son! I'd never thought about it but it builds on his character.

Helga is brilliant though; her fairness, her humour, her dislike for confrontation. Her humbleness too, and her annoyance at being under-estimated, though not to the extent that she'd be violent or in any way malicious about it; she'd calmly assert her abilities and it's shown here really well. Her turning him into a cat to demonstrate! She's playful about it. Oh, I love your Helga. And her in the kitchens at Hogwarts! Just this little hint at why the Hufflepuff common room is down by the kitchens made me happy, hehe!

And it's so well written as well. I may not know I lot about this time-period, but the dialogue and description of things works for me and sets me firmly in the Founders time period.

I'll just be adding this to my favourites now because thank you for writing an awesome Hufflepuff! :D

Author's Response: Hi! Thank you so much for taking time to review! This absolutely makes my day, and I'm thrilled that you're liking this so far! :)

I'm glad you're liking my take on the characters' backgrounds. Someday I'm going to edit these chapters and add a little more detail about their pasts, but I'm just really happy to hear that you're enjoying what I have so far. And it's awesome that this fic has gotten you a bit more interested in Founders! It's my favorite era, so I wanted to play around with it :)

I love Helga too; it's great to hear that you share a lot of my thoughts about her. I wanted to give her a chance to shine in this, since it seems like Hufflepuffs are generally overlooked. Which I'm sure you know, as a fellow Puff :)

Honestly I don't konw much about this period either. Historical accuracy has not been my focus, but I'm so glad it's working.

Thank you so much for favoriting, and reviewing! This just means the world to me! Sorry for the super long response (what can I say, I'm excited), and I'll be responding to your other reviews as soon as I can. Thanks again!
