Hello again. I’m glad to see Elena doing something active in her unsought for role in this intrigue. Though I have to say the fact that she rushed to buy the magazine and then chase after Ethan would seem to me that she would’ve given herself away to more than just Simon. Unless of course the newspaper stand owner is actually just a genial gentleman talking to Ethan about a newspaper clerk job.

Ooh, I’m liking all the action. Your creativity with the curses is awesome. Elena’s own emotional breakdown is real and you can see how all the events of the past days have started to storm the barricades that she’s erected so she could just deal. Elena’s still a little weak in my mind. Her breakdown, again, is understandable, but she’s kind of floating (which I get, because she’s not actually an Auror) but not wanting to bother the others just because Simon might be dying and they might be making better progress? Doesn’t make sense for me. And then going to sleep after Simon just got over this deadly spell…?

There were some spelling error which weren’t huge things (only thing I can remember is: sat back on her “heals” – should be [heels]).

Simon again is very likable here. I like this moment between them where he’s concerned over her and there is certainly affection being seen there which is nice in the middle of all this mystery and trauma.

Author's Response: Hello! I'm sorry I didn't respond to this review earlier.

Yes, that's the thing about Elena. She thinks she's being careful, but she's so nervous that it's rather obvious.

I think Elena is just blanking. That might be weak, but she's been really strung out. I mean, she had thought she was safe, then the Minister dies under her care. Now she's searching for his killer and has to pretend that it didn't happen, so the rest of the world can't know.

I think she's just so stressed, she can't think of how to reach the others. And she falls asleep because she exhausted herself trying to save him, not because she just wants to.

I'll fix those errors, thanks for pointing nit out.

I think I do get what you're saying though.
