I don't think you're moving their relationship to fast but then the whole 'month' discussion kind of made me think, well, a lot happened in a month didn't it? Has it actually just been a month or was that a figure of speech because I thought more time had gone by between the two. I'm unsure of the timeline.

I noticed a connection to your Lily story with the conversation here about James and the jobs of the family. I can see why they're concerned about the way he talks about injuries but I feel like he knows what he's getting in to and so does the rest of the family. Plus, someone has to do those jobs, don't they? Might as well be someone that would be qualified for it and actually want to do it whether it be searching for dark creatures, fighting off another war or whatever.

Not that safe jobs aren't good too.

I kind of feel bad for Scorpius because I think Rose is digging for something that doesn't need to be dug. I wonder if she'll ever let go of her Death Eater-Slytherin-Pureblood prejudices and just accept who Scorpius is and not who his family was.

Author's Response: It's actually been a bit less than a month, yeah. It started shortly after they got to Hogwarts, and it's currently approaching the first Quidditch match of the season, which for my purposes is in early-mid October.

I don't think Rose is ever going to completely let go of her prejudices. (Though for the record, purebloods aren't a problem for her, just Slytherins. :P) At least in my thoughts right now (which could change), Rose is always going to have a bit of an edge about her and she's always going to be a bit tactless. Scorpius will stick up for himself, clearly, but he isn't as easily fussed as she is.

That said, I think that she is at the point of being able to accept Scorpius for who he is. She's just naturally curious and likes to push his buttons. :P

Luckily for her, Scorpius is the sort of person who can deal with that. :P
