Review:Alopex says:
Wow . . . this story literally made me misty-eyed. Cecilia's death was a really difficult thing for her whole group of friends, and it was difficult for many of your readers too, I'm sure, especially the ones who had invested in the Reid/Cecilia ship. Still, her death was an excellent way to show the impact of the war and truly bring it home to your other characters.

It's still sad to see Reid in such a state three years later, though. However, I suppose I ought to cut the guy a bit of slack, because something like the house selling is bound to bring the memories back and make it seem worse again for a while. Also, I suppose maybe he's feeling like everyone else has forgotten, with the way he received the news.

I was touched that he wanted to save the roses for Cecilia, though. Maybe it wasn't the best move on his part for moving on, but what he did made sense to me too. I understood Hattie's reaction too, though.

This was a very well-written and impactful story.

Author's Response: This one is probably the best out of this collection (although I did really like Hattie's). So sad though. Sometimes sad has to happen, though.

He wasn't in such a bad state until he found out about the house being sold. I tried to hint at that when he says he hasn't been by her grave in a few weeks. He was getting better, but this was definitely a big setback for him.

Thank you for the review, this review really made me smile. Thanks!
