Ohhh the first section is firstly, just so perfect for describing the war feeling. From the eyes of someone who sees people go into war and not come out. It really captures the feeling of something so necessary and futile at the same time: "soldiers in a war where half of them are too young to even understand what they’re fighting for & he can no longer count the number of casualties on one hand. What is winning a war when so many die?

Hee, I do love Molly's bit in this. "If my dinner burns while you’re in there talking, you will have something to apologise for," Softens this chapter right up.

A lovely snapshot into the Order formation - such a tenuous time, and I love that one of the themes I tend to see quite a bit in this era is the concern for family. It brings out the reality of it all, that beyond politics and beliefs, these are ultimately people fighting for all they've got.

Author's Response: I love the first section too so it always pleases me when people point it out. It's sad, I think, and you sort of really get it with the whole 'necessary but futile' idea. War kind of sucks, doesn't it? But sometimes it's necessary and you can't fight a war without losing lives.

I did love the small bits of Molly that were included in this chapter. I loved writing that line. ;)

Family is definitely a huge concern, and you'll see in later chapters that's also true, but family in a different sense than just connected by blood.
