I like the mood you set to start out, kind of a seething intrigue vibe. I also like that you accomplish it without holding back the action. It's restrained, not forced, but very present.

I so enjoyed the clever little bits of humour you sneak in. Like Cygnus only wanting to make Orion happy again, haha, that's a killer sense of humour there. And Cygnus talks to his mercenaries like he talks to the kids. Maybe that's my twisted sense of homour but I found that funny.

I feel like I should be more constructive. Maybe in a later chapter I'll find something. I've got nothing here :)

Author's Response: Hi Ty! No one has ever described my mood as seething intrigue...it's an interesting way to describe it, that's for sure.

Well, Cygnus does have a rather twisted sense of humor so it seems fitting you would find his little comments amusing. He definitely does talk to Dolohov and Carrow like they're children, and once you read the next few chapters you'll see why he talks to them the way they do, silly, incompetent men.

I am totally fine with just general reviews if that's all you can do. :) Thanks for the review! I'll get to the rest of your chapters soon!
