Deck the halls with boughs of holly... ♥

I've always had a sort of aversion towards next generation stories, but this is absolutely one of the best ones I've ever read -- totally slams all my preconceived notions of them. Why? Because this is so genuine, and real, and just plain fun to read. It's sort of hard to describe, but when I'm reading this I know that there's nothing false about it. It's just you, a talented author, telling a story you want to tell, and there is something so refreshing about that.

I love Lucy (ha!) and her slightly rambling narrations -- she feels like someone real to me, a girl I'd like to be friends with. Her relationship with and reaction to her absurdly large family seems perfect, to me. I don't know if I could handle having to follow in the footsteps of a sister like Molly, much less all of those cousins! I can definitely relate to her terror of creatures -- not sure how I'd handle them if I were in the wizarding world. And that's a fun quirk to read about, too, very real, and sure to become increasingly more entertaining as your plot unfolds.

And your plot! I actually am so into this idea, and I really can't wait to see where you take it. I've never read anything like it, and that's a dangerous trap to fall into. There are countless dozens of paired-up-with-partners stories out there, many of them next gen, but yours is already so different, and I cannot tell you how happy that makes me. Are Lucy and Lysander going to get to travel to Romania to visit Charlie? That would be so cool! This is going to be a great project. :D

I love this story -- you're very talented, and you did not sell yourself short here! I'm looking forward to moving onto the second chapter, because it's only going to get better from here. I just know it. :) Happy holidays!

Author's Response: That's actually one of the best compliments I think I've ever gotten, so thank you very very much! ♥ you're a dear! I can't say that I set out writing this to defy everyone's notions of next gen, because that wasn't it at all. Lucy just came to me one day and stuck herself in my mind and that was that.

(ha! made you say it!) I don't come from a very large family myself... nothing near the size of the Weasleys, at least, but even so I find them overwhelming so I can only imagine how Lucy must feel! And her fear will certainly be coming into play quite a bit. :)

Yes, Lucy and Lysander are going to be going to Romania! I'm actually really excited to write that part, haha. ^-^ I'm glad you like the idea, too.

Thank you very much! your reviews are lovely ♥
