Poor Lucy didn't even realize he had already joined. :( It doesn't make me think they'll have a happy ending but I hope you'll prove me wrong somehow. It's very upsetting that Lucius was smacking her around though not surprising. I wonder if he ever laid a hand on Cissy, but I bet she'd just accept it as part of being the wife of a Pureblood - at least the group of maniacal Purebloods the Malfoys and Blacks are a part of. Lucy doesn't seem to conform to standards much, does she? I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for a happy ending (funny how much I like HEAs considering how much angst I write, haha).

Author's Response: Yep, the Lucy/Lucius relationship is not a happy one. I didn't write him as being abusive toward his fiancee in this one (she's still living in a fairytale as it is) but I did imagine that there would be some resentment over her perceived failure as a sister and daughter in that family. Kind of makes you wonder how bad Sirius had it in his family, huh?

And I totally get what you mean. I love angst, but sometimes you just want happily ever after :)
