This was beautiful! Your descriptions are just amazing. I could imagine everything Lily did in this story and it actually made me think of my own house, when all my siblings are either asleep or not home. The quiet is weird, so I completely understand where Lily is coming from.

I like the way this story is left up to interpretation. I kept wondering if this day was different from other days and how old Lily was in this story. I decided that it probably is just an average day, but it also crossed my mind that Harry & Ginny had been gone doing something dangerous for a while, leaving the kids home by themselves (making them teenagers). I like that we never find out for sure.

I especially liked the ending, where Lily started making noise as her brother came downstairs, so he wouldn't notice the quiet. But then he did. And it was just so poignant. Lovely story! :)

I'm always a little hesitant to leave things up to interpretation. The stories that do are occasionally met with some criticism and questions as to what, exactly, happened. So I'm very thrilled to see that the questions that were left here were good, and that you enjoyed them. :)
