Review:Billion says:
This is brilliant Susan! I've been feeling kind of disconnected from WTA of late but this off-shoot brought back the interest full-swing. I love how you delved into Lily's POV (and you're right, first person was the way to go) and it brings a whole new depth to the WTA universe. She didn't appear much in WTA and all we - I - saw was a flighty creature, immature, spoilt and perhaps not quite aware of how she impacted others. But this turned it all around. She's still what I thought her before but with added layers. She's so different from Rose, mainly because she views everything through a single lens: herself. Her relationship with Scorpius is interesting because she's forcing herself to see him her way, despite whatever inkling might be at the back of her mind. Scorpius himself becomes more interesting since we get to see him through an opposing POV. It also makes it more believable that him and Rose were an item. I always wondered why Rose got with the manipulative ice bucket in the first place.
There was more that I wanted to say but I can't remember what... XD All in all, it was wonderfully written with excellent characterizations. Now I'm really looking forward to the next chapter of WTA!

Author's Response: Wow, thank you very much! It's great to hear from you again, and it means a lot that this story was able to bring you back into WTA-dom. It's also great news that what I set out to do with Lily's character actually worked. :D

In the story she's more of an entity rather than a person, someone who stands in Rose's way to some extent, and writing this allowed me to understand Lily better, both as a person and in her relationship with Rose, which I wanted to learn about from her side. And it's interesting that Lily keeps denying herself what could actually be true about Scorpius, Rose, and herself. She knows in the back of her mind what's really going on, but she won't admit to it, which does deepen her character.

Haha, I love the image of Scorpius as a "manipulative ice bucket". It's perfect! Like Lily, he also narrows himself into expecting a certain way of life, though in his case, he knows that it may not be what he really wants. He's a strange character, and while he seems the villain in WTA, I'm not sure that he actually is. Yes, he's highly manipulative and has caused Rose a lot of pain, but he's caused himself that same pain due to some pride thing, I'm guessing.

Anyway, thank you so much for taking the time to read and review! ^_^
