Hey HPB! I finally found time to catch up on my fanfic reading (just got my wisdom teeth pulled), and thought I'd come see your writing.

I loved how quickly you developed Nikki. In my writing, I feel like it takes me forever to establish somebody's character, but I think you did really well in such a short amount of space. Also, I loved the twist at the end (despite how tragic it was.) The perspective changed to something really passive, which was such an interesting contrast between the subject matter, but it worked well with Sirius' mood.

My only suggestion: it be longer! Not like novel-length, but maybe a couple more chapters. I'd like to see more of the friendship between Nikki and Sirius or Nikki and Lily just so I understand a little better how they feel when they find out about her death.

Great work though! I loved it! Can't wait to read some more of your stuff :-)

Author's Response: OMG thank you! I always love it when you've got free time like that and you can just read and read and read . I haven't had time like that in ages!

I don't know where the image of Nikki came from in my head. But wherever it was, it was strong. I think out of nearly every character I have ever written in any story I have ever written, Nikki Laud is the one I can picture most in my mind. It seems like I could nearly imagine in her in any situation at all and immediately know what she would do. A little freaky actually. Maybe that was why it was a little easy to develop her.

My problem = as soon as I try to write a long story, my mind goes blank. I wrote this a while ago at a different time, my feelings were different, so as much as I would like to (and I really would!) I don't think I can go back to her. :'( Sad,I know.
