I could SWEAR that I've read this before. In fact, before reviewing, I checked to see if I'd left an anonymous review for it, but I haven't. I'm absolutely positive I've read this before, though. Obviously I didn't review it. I do review most of what I read, but sometimes I let it slide.

Anyway. Your portrayal of Luna here was so lovely. Luna is lovely. Your descriptions of her wanting so badly to open that package made me want to rip it open too, and I'm not normally a package ripper! Zephira was a wonderful touch to the story as well.

Best of all, you included so many little things that make Luna Luna. With what other character could you include a talk to the Cryptozoological Society, or have them living in an African village studying the M'Kele M'Bembe (did I spell that correctly?). I loved the touch with Hagrid matchmaking, too, and the way Rolf was the son of a famous explorer. You definitely did Luna justice here.

Author's Response: This was a bit of an experiment for me. I needed some practice writing first person and I'm comfortable writing Luna, so I thought this would be a good fit to write.

I'm so glad that you think I did her characterization justice. This story sat with 0 reviews for a long time and on the other site it's at, it didn't have many either, so I was very concerned about how I did with it. When I finally did get reviews, they were very positive, so I think I got it right.

I love cats (if you couldn't tell), and a kneazle isn't so much different. Zephira is based a lot on our cat, Gremlin and how she would play with a ripped piece of Christmas paper, especially one with an interesting smell.

I'm sure you could tell that this was a more recent story because I think the writing in this one is vastly improved over some of my earlier stories.
