Wow.

As soon as I got your PM I came straight over to read this and that's all I have to say. You have taken my breath away in the first chapter.

The description and prose were just delicious. Your writing almost sings, especially in describing Julietta. You really captured my attention with your writing from the off.

I think you've moulded Scorpius into an interesting character. There's something very endearing about him (and this is coming from someone who really does not like Scorpius much). Julietta seems like a bit of a handful, to put it politely. I can't wait to see how she develops because I think she's going to be a strong character.

Dominique's appearance may have been brief but it works well in introducing her. Knowing already that she is mute, it was harder for me to be confused by the writing and shocked at her disability, but I think to someone who doesn't know what is really going on, that it is a great way of introducing it. It's short and to the point, it isn't dwelled upon and perhaps that shows an element of Dominique's character and attitude towards being mute (it's been a while since I read the profile - I can't remember the details).

Anyway, I thought this was a beautiful first chapter. It was just astounding.

Julietta is a bit of a handful, which is really what I was trying to portray. She is easily the more dominant person in their relationship, while Scorpius is the meeker one, always looking to please her.

Dominique will be featured far more in the next chapter and her history/muteness will be more in detail. I'm relieved to hear her explanation to her muteness didn't come too suddenly. The line, "I'm mute" was an answer to both Scorpius and (in my mind) the readers.
