Review:Girldetective85 says:
Love it - of course. Remus is so undeniably human and sympathetic when you write him, and you make us feel every pang that he feels. I thought the memories you included were very well-done and seamlessly added into the narrative. I especially liked the way he met the other Marauders, because in every other story they always meet on the train. The fear and the tension as they began to grow up, have suspicions about Peter, etc. were very well done. My ultimate favorite scene in this story was Remus watching Sirius be sentenced to Azkaban, and the way he remembered the two of them being young and innocent children together. Absolutely heart-breaking. Your stories always have so much depth and beauty to them, and there's always the message that through even the blackest darkness there is always light. Gorgeous 10/10

Author's Response: I really wondered a lot about this precise missing moment in Remus' life - the moment when he lost absolutely everything he had. This story was precisely the reason why I struggled a bit with the choice of a moment to choose for the Defining Moments collaboration - it was definitely a turning point in his life.

One of the main reasons why I don't really like reading Marauder stories as well as some Next Gen stories is because so many authors make everyone meet on the train. C'mon, what are the chances to meet all of your dorm mates and become best friends with them all at once?! Canon tells us James and Sirius met on the train and shared a compartment with Snape and Lily. There are little chances they met Remus and Peter before coming to Hogwarts...

The scene you mentioned with Remus watching Sirius being sentenced to Azkaban is my favorite as well - I actually based the entire story on that precise scene. It motivated me to write the entire story in the first place...

Thank you so much for the wonderful review. You know how much I appreciate it... :)
