This is great for your first song fic! I have not attempted one yet. I'm too chicken that I will mess it up. There are a few spelling errors and some places you could have flushed out a bit more, but nothing really serious. The only thing I wished you had worked on a little bit more was the personal emotions of each of them. You have a good overall feeling, but I would like to see what each of them were thinking and feeling on the inside.

What I really like in this song fic was that you did not focus entirely on the events that had past, and not entirely on what the people were feeling. If you do not have the balance between the two, it can get boring. You had the balance perfect! I rarely read song fics because I generally find them boring or poorly done. However, I am glad that I was able to read this one. Keep writing!

Author's Response: thanks so much for this review. I didn't really want to expand on emotion, mostly because when I've ever lost someone I feel numb. So I'm not sure what you could write for emotion.

I love that you thought I was balanced, it is what I'm going for, I'm not sure if I'll be able to find the spelling mistakes just yet, it tends to take me a while before I notice them.
