Stunning Banner from autumn.shades @ TDA!

The beautiful daughter of Hermione and Ron Weasley is kidnapped the night she is born.

Years later, two unsuspecting students think they're hunting a ghost, only to discover a girl instead.

Their names? Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy.

Problem is, none of them know who she really is. Not even her.

Chapter 1: Prologue

“Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. It’s a girl.”

Ron Weasley turned to look at his exhausted but beautiful wife, beaming happily.

“Did you hear that ‘Mione? It’s a girl! A beautiful baby girl!”

Hermione Weasley (neé Granger) rolled her eyes as she said “Ron, I’m tired, not deaf.”

The midwife healer brought the cherubic baby towards Hermione as he asked them what they wanted to name her. Ron and Hermione both smiled.

“We had agreed that if it was a girl, we’d name her Nymphadora. If it was a boy, we’d name him Remus.”

The healer nodded. “Nymphadora Weasley.” He pronounced, his quill scribbling on the new Nymphadora’s birth certificate. He looked at Hermione and handed Nymphadora to her. Hermione took hold of Nymphadora as a wave of emotion passed through her. This was her baby girl, her precious baby, a new life! It was overwhelming but so satisfying at the same time.

“I’m never going to let anything bad happen to you.” She murmured to her.

“Too right we aren’t, she’s not allowed to date until she’s 50.” Her husband added. Hermione rolled her eyes and she gazed at her sleeping daughter. It was so peaceful and she felt herself slowly drifting to sleep.

Suddenly three figures burst through the doors jolting both her and Nymphadora awake.

“WHERE IS SHE? Where is my goddaughter?!” A red-headed, pregnant woman exclaimed, carrying a snoozing black haired baby in her arms. Right behind her was a tall, black-haired man with startling green eyes and a lightning bolt shaped scar on his upper-left forehead.

“Shush!” the midwife silenced them as they walked into the room.

“Ginny! Nice of you to drop in! How’s James? I’m sorry I missed his first birthday, I was a bit busy here.”

Ginny Potter (neé Weasley) rolled her eyes.
“Oh please Hermione, is that the first thing you say? Where’s that goddaughter of mine! Harry and I want to see her! And I’m sure when James wakes up, he’ll want to as well.”

Hermione grinned as she passed on Nymphadora to her and lay down to finally get some rest.

“Oh look Harry! She’s got the Weasley hair! Let’s just hope it’s not as bushy as yours right ‘Mione? I bet she’s going to have freckles, we all do, so I wouldn’t be surprised. Oh wouldn’t it be nice if she got Hermione’s brains and Ron’s quidditch skills? She’d be perfect! I can see her breaking hearts already.” Ron looked alarmed.

“Oh no Ginny, she won’t be talking to boys let alone breaking their hearts. No way.”

“Oh please Ronald. How is that going to work? She’s obviously going to Hogwarts!”

“Doesn’t mean that she’s going to be talking with them anytime soon. Not until she’s 50.”

“No way in Merlin is she going to avoid boys until 50! Do you expect her to have no life? Of all – “

“Ron! Ginny! Please! A little peace and quiet please. I’d like to get some rest.”

“Sorry Hermione. We’ll see you later okay?” Harry apologized on Ginny’s behalf as he hastily gave Nymphadora to the midwife healer and dragged Ginny and James out of the room. Ron looked guiltily at Hermione as he apologized and sat down to give her a bit of quiet.

The midwife healer placed the still sleeping Nymphadora into the nearby cot and after re-checking Hermione, walked out the room. 10 minutes later all three Weasleys were sleeping soundly.

12:05 AM 23 May, 2005

A hooded figure climbed in through the window of where the three Weasleys were sleeping in St. Mungos. The figure tiptoed past the sleeping Hermione and Ronald Weasley to the newborn baby, peered over the cot and gazed at the baby sleeping within. She looked around and then quickly picked up the baby and crept out of the room. She was just climbing out the window when Nymphadora woke up and started crying. Just as both Ron and Hermione woke up with a start, the figure vanished. All the Weasleys say was the curtains flapping about. There was a feeling in the room that something had just gone terribly wrong.

Ron scrambled to the cot and gasped. He turned to Hermione as he shook his head. Gone.

Hermione broke out into tears as Ron walked to her and held her close. The healers came through the doors, confused at the noise. They were shocked and horrified at their discovery.

They quickly sent an owl to the Potters who apparated to their room straight away. Ginny walked up to Hermione and just squeezed her tight while Harry just stood there gaping like a goldfish.

“Hermione, I just, I just can’t believe it! Who would do such a thing?” Harry asked. Hermione shrugged, tears still streaming down her face. A grim line set on Harry’s face.

“I’m going to get some coverage on it. I’m sure that they’ll find Nymphadora, and whoever took her too. Don’t worry Hermione. We’ll get her back.”

Hermione Weasley (neé Granger) and Ronald Weasley, two thirds of the famous Golden Trio who saved the Wizarding World from Dark Wizard Lord Voldemort were shocked to find their hours old baby girl missing from St. Mungos early this morning. Hermione Weasley had just given birth to Nymphadora Weasley a few hours prior and both she and Ron were delighted at their daughter. The Weasleys and the Potters (including the famous Harry Potter) urge wizards to look for a baby with bright red hair that may not belong. More investigation and information to come sooner.

It has been one year since the kidnapping of baby Nymphadora Weasley, daughter of Ron and Hermione Weasley (two thirds of the golden trio) and she still hasn’t been found. The search for her continues but many people have lost hope.

by Rita Skeeter

It’s with heave hearts; we must inform you, our persistent readers, that Nymphadora Weasley is declared officially dead. With absolutely no information on her for more than a year, there is very small chance that she is still out there. The investigation has been dropped.

DAILY PROPHET 8 August 2007

by Rita Skeeter

Hermione and Ron Weasley are pleased to inform you, valuable readers; that the birth of their second child has gone smoothly and their baby boy is to be named Hugo Remus Weasley. They were ‘apprehensive’ to have another child especially after the disappearance of their daughter Nymphadora Weasley hours after her birth but had realized a few months ago that Mrs Weasley was pregnant again. There are much higher security measures at St Mungos and a spokesperson has said that ‘they are confident that the same situation will not happen again any time in the future.’ Best Wishes to the Weasley family.

A/N: Hi there! This is my first PROPER fan/fic. This plot idea has been whirring around in my head for a few months now and I knew that I had to get it down before I forgot it completely! This story is loosely based on Rapunzel. :) But REALLY loosely based. It changes pretty fast.....
Please R/R!!!

Thanks!!! :D

Chapter 2: The Assignment
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Chapter Image made by me!

January 3rd 2022

“Welcome back students. I trust you have all had a good Christmas break and are ready to get started back into Defence against the Dark Arts.” Professor Higgins said to the Sixth year Hogwarts school of Witchcraft and Wizardry students.

“Now this term, your syllabus will be slightly different. Most of you chose to continue on with this subject because you wish to become an Auror and therefore we will be doing some work in that area for the majority of term. This’ll benefit you greatly in your journey to become an Auror. Now I know some of you want to participate in another profession and that’s fine.” He paused, looking around at his students.

“In your main subject: for example Potions if you wish to be a Healer, there will be a large topic for that instead. You will still be learning from your other subjects and try to incorporate those subjects within this project but you will not be required to include them. Now for the task-” The class held their breath in excitement.

“You and your partner – which will be assigned by me-” There was an audible groan. “Will choose a house that is haunted and investigate it. That includes mapping the building and trying to learn more about the ghost. Now for the defence part.

Most ghosts encountered can be dangerous at first and you will need to protect yourself. If you don’t have to then count yourself lucky but chances are you’ll need to defend yourself a bit. To have a better experience; you’ll be staying at a house that is close to the haunted building,” excited chatter filled the room.
“But we have to authorize the house and there must be an adult living with you as you’re all still underage. The rest of this lesson will be spent on planning and deciding which house and ghost to study. Alright, the partners are as follows:

Eliza Huntley-Greene with Alice Prentice
Olivia McDonald with Anna Jones
Nigel Zabini with Tiffany Abbott
Celine Crabbe with Benjamin Griffiths
Annabel Wood with Alex Belby
Emily Jordan with Henry McLaggen
Francesca Avery with Sarah Smith
and Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy.

Please now sit with your partner to discuss what to do. You will be sitting with your partner until later notice. If you have any troubles or queries, feel free to ask.” The Professor finished and returned to his desk.

Albus Potter looked up and quickly glared at both Professor Higgins and Scorpius.

“Malfoy?” Eliza muttered to Albus, “What the hell is Higgins thinking? Just don’t kill each other alright? I’ll see you after class okay babe?”

“Yeah sure,” Albus replied, heaving himself off his seat and sat in the empty one next to Malfoy as Eliza headed off to Alice.

“Malfoy. Let’s just get this over with.”

“Agreed. Well I live in a neighborhood without anything silly and dangerous so it’ll have to be in yours.” Malfoy said pretentiously.

“What are you suggesting Malfoy?” Albus growled, his wand pointing at Malfoy.
“Nothing,” Malfoy said innocently, “I’m just saying that the area where I live has no crime and definitely no haunted houses. You must have assumed something different.”

Albus glared at him before sighing and replying.
”There is one house in Godric’s Hollow which we aren’t allowed to enter. I think it’s because it’s haunted.” Albus said, thinking.

Scorpius stared at him, “Of course it will be, if you all avoid it like the plague. Well that’s useful, if it’s in Godric’s Hollow, someone is sure to live there.”

“Yeah, like my parents.”

Scorpius smirked. “Exactly. Well that’s our work done. Let’s go tell Higgins and finish this already.”

Ok... so... um hi. :) I haven't uploaded since forever, BUT I PROMISE YOU I WILL GET BETTER! Hehe. So no Nymphadora in this chapter but you get to meet Albus and Scorp (NOTE: They are approx. 16/17 years old).

Chapter 3: Houses
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

Chapter Image made by me!

The Potter estate was a large building, not grand or intimidating but just there. If you didn’t know it was the house of the Boy who Lived, you probably wouldn’t notice it at all. Albus and Scorpius arrived by floo to the local pub and walked their way to their home for the next few weeks.

“So this is the famous Potter house.” Commented Scorpius, giving the house a once-over. “Not what I was expecting.”

“It may not be grand like the Malfoy Manor, but it’s home.” His companion retorted irritably. “Let’s go. I’m starved.”

Albus levitated his luggage with a swish of his wand, and positioned it at the door before walking forwards. He turned around to see Scorpius still staring at the estate.

“Well come on, what are you waiting for, A formal invitation?”

Scorpius snapped out of his trance and quickly picked up his bags to follow Albus.

“Hello, Anybody home? Dad? Mum?” Albus hollered, looking around the hallway.

“Potter, I think this is for you.” Scorpius said, glancing down at a note on the side.

“Let me see that.” Albus snatched the note from Scorpius before scanning the paper.

I’m sorry I’m unable to meet you and your partner when you arrive. I was called away on some Auror business. I should be back tonight at around 7. I’ll take the both of you out to dinner alright? Mum’s out as well, she’s guest coaching the Holyhead Harpies. Even though she retired ages ago, they still want to use her. Use this afternoon to settle in. Your partner (who I assume is a male) will be using the guest bedroom that’s opposite your room, as that is the most convenient one. Maybe show him around the neighborhood. However, I would recommend that you do not go to the house today. I’d prefer to make a game plan with the both of you before you do anything rash. Going into a mission without planning is the main cause of disasters.

Anyways, I’ll see you tonight.

Albus put the note down on the table before grabbing his bags.

“I’ll put down my stuff before leading you to your room. The we’ll make a plan.”

Scorpius stared at Albus, before picking up the note to read for himself.

“He doesn’t know I’m your partner? Is the famous Harry Potter afraid of some bad blood entering his house?”

“No, it’s not that. I just haven’t exactly had time to contact him. And besides, if that were the case, it’s not like he could kick you out now.”

Scorpius rolled his eyes. “Whatever Potter. Show me the way.”

“So here’s the information and directions Higgins gave us. We’ll need to make sure we know it all and keep it with us all the time. I’d say there’s probably information about how Quidditch is going to work as well.” Albus said, as he took a large package out of one of his bags.

“Chances are, quidditch is off until we all come back. Most of the sixth years are out doing this dumb project or another, and all teams have sixth years in them. You can’t participate without a full team. Besides, mine won’t be doing anything considering I’ve got all the strategies and game plans.” Scorpius replied, running a hand through his blonde hair and ruffling it slightly.

Albus rolled his eyes. “It’s not like you’re the only sixth year captain Malfoy. I’ve already told my team to stay in shape if we want to win the cup again this year.” He remarked and then shook his head in exasperation. “Let’s just get started.”

For your Defence Against the Dark Arts project, you will need to do the following tasks:
• Investigate the history of the building
• Draw and map the building
• Go inside the building and list anything you find (or don’t find) that is unusual
• Discover the ghost/s
• Learn more about the ghost/s
• Stay Alive

Enclosed are items that you may find useful for your project:
• Revealer
• Secrecy Sensor
• Sneakoscope
• An Emergency Tracking Device, which you may switch on if you are in grave danger.
• A Wizard Camera

You will be able to use magic during this time. However, your spell use will be monitored so any inappropriate spells will result in an automatic T for the entire project.

You will need your wits and your skills for this task and in the future as well.

I shall see you all in two weeks. You may return prior to that but you must do a thorough job. You also may ask for an extension but you need to contact me one week earlier as it will mean rearranging your entire schedule.

Good Luck

Professor Higgins

P.S. Quidditch is postponed until all sixth years are back.

“Well that doesn’t seem too bad…” Albus commented.

“It seems like a hell of a lot.” Scorpius complained. “It’s only five now so why don’t we head over to the house? I want to see it, plus we could go in and map it out now.” He suggested.

“But my dad said-“

“Your dad said we had to plan it out, which we have. Now let’s go.” He persisted as he grabbed the equipment and jammed it all into his bag, before heading towards the door.
“Wait!” Albus cried before running after him, “What’s the plan?”

Scorpius stopped and turned around. “Don’t die.”

“So this is it? I imagined something slightly… spookier.” Scorpius commented somewhat disappointedly as he looked up and down the house. It was an old manor house with a large dark roof and cracked stone walls. The exterior of the building was dismal and grey and it gave off the feeling of abandonment. Some of the windows were cracked and others had cardboard where the glass should be. Long grass and other vegetation crept up the side of the house making the garden resemble a jungle.
“Well I guess living in a ‘safe’ neighborhood makes your imagination run wild doesn’t it? Compared to the other houses this is scary.”

Scorpius scoffed, “Oh please. This looks just like a slightly run-down ordinary house. Although I can see how children would want to avoid it, judging by the lack of hygiene.”

“Who knew a little dust would cause Scorpius Malfoy to run off.” Albus said amusedly.

“Dust? Me? I don’t think so.” Scorpius made to go into the house but Albus didn’t move. “Well come on then, let’s go in. Or are you too scared?”
“Aren’t you forgetting something Malfoy? We need to draw the outside of the house first. To get an idea of how many rooms and levels this house is.”

Scorpius stared at Albus, “Isn’t it obvious? Judging by the size and height of the house, there’s about 16 rooms altogether. There are two floors with an attic and no basement.”

Albus was stunned but quickly recovered his composure. “Right, okay but we still need to draw the building as it’s part of the requirement.”

“That’s what the camera’s for Potter. We take pictures of the outside of the building and the inside of the rooms or the things we think are weird; then when we go back to yours and we draw them from the photos. You’d think that being at the top of the class would make you logical, apparently not.” Scorpius answered, smirking.

“I don’t want to fight with you Malfoy,” Albus spoke through clenched teeth.

“Oh really? Judging by the last six years one would think you enjoy fighting with me a lot.”

“Well now we have an important project to complete, which based on the resulting grade, will pretty much decide whether we make the cut.” Albus argued.

Scorpius opened his mouth to retort when he stopped and glanced up at the old house. “Did you hear that?” He asked apprehensively. “Listen, there it is again.”

“I don’t know what you are talking abo-” Albus stopped as he heard a small bang from the house. “Okay I definitely heard that.”

“Let’s go check it out. The pictures can wait.”

Albus nodded. “Agreed.”

Albus walked into the house determinedly, followed by Scorpius. They pushed open the dark oak door and found themselves in a hallway. They looked around only to find the bottom floor fully furnished but devoid of human presence.
“Well, that was a bit of a let-down.” Albus stated, releasing a deep breath.

“That can’t be right, I heard something. You heard something.” Scorpius protested firmly.

“Well you did say that there were around 16 rooms so lets’ split up. You take upstairs and I’ll take downstairs. Just scream if you need help.”

“Oh please.” Scorpius scoffed. “Men don’t scream.” Albus glared at him until Scorpius sighed. “Fine, and of course vice versa. See you soon.” He didn’t look back as he headed to the staircase.

Scorpius dragged his hand across the smooth banister and trudged up the worn steps, to the second floor.

After thoroughly examining each room; he found nothing and no one that could’ve possibly made such a sound, so decided to head back down to see how Albus was doing.
It turned out that Albus had the same luck.

“I thought this house would be creepier.”

“Me too. I mean, I’ve spent my whole life away from this house, like it hid a huge secret, only to find now, there’s nothing at all. It’s pretty sad.” Albus checked his watch. “You know what? We have about an hour and a half until my dad comes back. Why don’t I show you around Godric’s Hollow? That way you won’t have to follow me around everywhere.” Albus walked down the hallway headed towards the door.

“Potter, isn’t there supposed to be an attic?” Scorpius suddenly remembered.

Albus stopped in his tracks.

“Did you see any doors leading to an attic?”

Scorpius shook his head slowly. “I wasn’t exactly looking though…”

“Well we can look first thing tomorrow.” Albus said, continuing to the front door.

“But Potter, there’s probably something up there. It’ll only take a minute.” Scorpius argued.

Albus sighed. “I guess it won’t hurt. Let’s hurry up.”

“Do you see anything Malfoy?”

“There’s nothing here.”

“Hey Malfoy, I don’t suppose you know ancient runes do you?”

“Actually I do. Why?” Scorpius replied in surprise.

“There’s something on the wall.”

Scorpius walked to where Albus was standing and saw the faintest traces of marks.

“That’s funny, it doesn’t translate to English. It-it looks like a spell…”

“Do you know the spell Malfoy?” Albus asked, squinting through the haze of dust at Scorpius.

“I can’t be sure. It looks like ‘morsmosvinco’.” Scorpius paused. “Do you have any-” A shudder suddenly shook the house, almost knocking the two boys over. “What was that?”

“Malfoy, turn around.”

Scorpius turned around slowly, unsure about what to expect. He laughed in relief once he saw a short flight of stairs leading up to another room.
Albus looked at him. “After you Malfoy.”

Scorpius looked up at the light at the top of the opening, and started climbing the rickety stairs, hearing Albus’ heavy footsteps behind him.
When Scorpius reached the top, he opened his mouth to say something but a flash of red light hit him square in the chest. He fell to the floor with a thud.

A/N Well well well, what does everyone think is up there? This chapter was way longer than the previous (but still not as long as I'd like) and this was updated wayfaster than the previous one! Expect the next one to be even faster! I won't be writing for a while as I have exams next week and I have birthday plans! :D Thanks for reading! Please review!

Also, again, thanks to my amazing beta Pottergirl7, I'm pretty sure no one would've been able to understand what I wrote before she edited it. :P

Chapter 4: A Meeting
[Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

No Chapter Image this time!
Disclaimer: I own nothing (besides the plot)! Anything you recognize belongs to J.K. Rowling!

When Scorpius awoke the first thing he noticed was that it was getting late. Then he noticed his pounding headache.

Slowly regaining consciousness, he made to move and realized he was bound to a chair by ropes. Immediately, he tried to free himself from the binds but to no avail.

“W-what are these?" Scorpius muttered, still only partially conscious.

“Devil Snare ropes,” a sharp, feminine voice called out. “Don’t bother struggling, it will only make them tighter.”

That comment woke him up. Scorpius snapped his head up and ignoring the scream of protest from his brain, looked around for the source of the voice. He squinted at the wooden ledges supporting the high ceilings of the attic and saw the faintest shape of a figure hiding in the shadows.

“Show yourself!” Scorpius commanded, focusing on keeping the nervousness out of his voice.

“You know, I was considering coming out but your lack of manners are really putting me off. That's not a very polite way of speaking to someone.”

“You appear to have a very warped sense of the word polite. Tying us up is not considered polite.”

“’Us’?” The voice asked, clearly mocking him. “Who is ‘us’?”

Scorpius’s eyes widened and he frantically looked around for his companion. “Where is he?”

“Who?” The figure asked innocently. It leapt off the ledge, and landed gracefully on the ground. “The curly hair boy? Oh I sent him on his way,” The smirk was evident in her voice. “He doesn’t remember a thing. That’ll happen to you too soon enough but first, I need to know who sent you." It's mocking tone was replaced by a much more serious one. The figure walked into the light and revealed a girl. She put her hands on her hips. “Think you can tell me?”

Scorpius stared at the girl. He was expecting a strong, rough girl, not this. This girl stood there; with perfect posture and her pointy, speckled nose pointed in the air. Her red hair glittered in the sunlight, reaching just before her slim waist where her pale hands were placed. Her blue eyes stared harshly at him as she pursed her lips and waited for him to reply.

He laughed. “And why would I tell a pixie like you?”

The girl scowled. “As a matter of fact, I am not a pixie. I am a witch, and a good one at that. I've been learning magic since I first showed signs of it. My mother says I will do great things.”

Scorpius was confused. “A witch? What are you 12 or 13? Shouldn’t you be at Hogwarts then?”

“Excuse me, but I happen to be 16 years old thank you very much! Mother says that Hogwarts is full of rude hooligans and that it’s dangerous to be out there.” She paused. “Of course, mother never thought that I might actually be able to take them on. How could a girl as little as me go outside and survive? It’s not like this is the 21st century or anything. I mean look at me; I’ve already made one boy lose his memory and tied the other one up. Yeah I’m totally unprepared for the outside world.” She finished bitterly.

Scorpius looked at the girl, and arched his eyebrow. “Well it seems as you have many unresolved issues with your mother which you should probably sort out, why don’t you just let me go on my way and we’ll never think about this again?” He asked hopefully.

The girl looked back up at Scorpius before demanding again that he tell her who sent him.

Scorpius still refused to answer, instead turning his head away from her.

She sighed. “Blondie, how about I make you a deal?” She walked slowly up to where Scorpius was sitting. “You seem like the age which goes to school. 16, 17? Well, in exchange for your freedom and memory you must take me with you.”

“What? Take you where?”

She rolled her eyes. “Merlin, must I explain everything to you? Me go to your magic school. Say I’m some long-lost cousin who was homeschooled and wanted to see what an actual school was like or something.”

Scorpius was shocked. “You mean, you want me to take you to school?" She nodded. " Why?” He couldn’t comprehend why anybody who clearly could do magic, would choose to go to school.

“Because I’ve been stuck in this house for as long as I can remember! I’ve never been outside and I have never met people my own age! Let me go with you.”

Scorpius shook his head. “No, you can’t do that. People will be able to figure it out the moment you step foot in the school. Just let me go back and we’ll forget this ever happened.”

Her eyes hardened, the begging look replaced with hard dislike. “Alright then please relax, this won’t hurt.” She paused before smirking. “Well, it won’t hurt much.”

“Wait!” Scorpius shouted frantically. “What are you going to do me?”

“Oh just a memory spell." she said nonchalantly. “I tailor it so that you only forget what’s happened these past few hours. Instead of being up here you’ll think that you were strolling innocently through town, looking at the shops and finding nothing that interests you.” She winked at him. “After all Blondie, we don’t want you losing any brain cells, you can't really afford to lose many more.” She saw the cynical look on his face and rolled her eyes. “Oh puh-lease. This is basic magic! You’re lucky I’m not going to…” Her eyes widened as she grinned, “hey there’s an idea.”

“What? What’s an idea?” Scorpius asked, slightly worried at what was going through this strange witch’s mind. If she thought memory spells were basic then it was clear she must have been quite skilled.

“I’m just thinking,” she said slowly. “I might take some time to look through your brain. It’s not like you'll remember any of this after all, so I guess it wouldn’t hurt to get my answers.” She looked at Scorpius' white face. “ Relax, if you’re uptight it'll just make this all the more difficult for us both."

Scorpius sighed and closed his eyes. He had come to the conclusion that if he sat here quietly and let her poke through his mind, then he'd be able to leave with no real harm done.

He relaxed himself and felt a cool, fuzzy feeling envelope him.

“Relax boy, relax.” He heard an unfamiliar voice mutter. “This will be over soon.”

Scorpius tried to look back over the afternoons' events and found himself unable to remember any details. He hung on to the few things he could recall as he felt them being pulled from his mind.

“Brace yourself Blondie. This will hurt.” The voice came again, guiding him through the darkness.

A sharp pain struck Scorpius on the back of his head. He flinched at the sudden shot of pain. It felt like a hard bolt had shot right through him into his brain. Suddenly he could remember strolling through the familiar streets of Godric’s Hollow, browsing through stores. He remembered meeting with Albus as he walked, glancing through all of the local stores. He’d been there before, the objects weren’t a surprise to him.

" Almost finished.” The voice kept whispering. It was faint, as if disappearing.

Scorpius felt an unfamiliar weight in his brain which moved around his head. It travelled, sifting through thoughts and memories, examining each one intently. The weight disappeared as quickly as it had come, leaving him with broken images and scattered threads.

“Wake up Scorpius Malfoy.” A voice said, breaking through the silence. “Please leave downstairs and head back to Mr Potter’s estate. Thank you for visiting the store, unfortunately we are closing. Goodbye Mr Malfoy.”

Scorpius’ eyes snapped open and he robotically moved downstairs. His eyes stared straight ahead, looking but not seeing.

He soon found himself outside of the Potter estate, unsure of how he got there. Scorpius walked through the front door and headed towards the dining room where he could hear voices. He found Albus Potter sitting next to his dad; the famous Boy Who Lived (who looked more like the Man Who Lived).

“Scorpius! Where have you been?” Albus asked him, a look of concern donning his face.

“I-I” His voice caught in the back of his throat. “I was in town, just like you. I went to the stores. I wasn’t that surprised by what I saw, they looked exactly the same as they did last week.” His voice sounded unused and foreign, like he hadn’t spoken for weeks.

Albus’s father looked at Scorpius oddly, but Albus just nodded. “Right that makes sense. Let’s go to dinner. Dad where are we going?”

Harry looked at the two boys in turn, before replying.

“We'll head out to the local diner. They make some brilliant pastas. You like pasta don’t you Scorpius? You may have seen the store, Tangio’s?”

Scorpius nodded. Although he couldn’t remember it specifically, it sounded familiar.
“Oh! I love Tangios!” Albus exclaimed enthusiastically.

“Yes, I’m sure you do Al.” Harry replied, looking at his son.

Scorpius didn’t understand why the famous Harry Potter looked so put out. Was it because he was here? Yes, that must be it.

They walked to the centre of the town towards an abandoned building. However to both Scorpius and Albus it looked like what seemed to be Tangio’s. Harry muttered something incomprehensible whilst Albus and Scorpius walked in, only to find it locked.

“Dad Tangio’s is closed.” Albus complained.

“That’s a shame. I was looking forward to having pasta.” Scorpius stated.

“Ah yes, what a shame.” Harry said distractedly. “Let’s go to Aaron’s Restaurant. They might have some seats left.”

He lead the way to Aaron’s Restaurant, where there were indeed some seats left.

The company of three were seated in a secluded booth, sitting in plush red couches which were soft and comfortable. Albus sat next to his father and opposite them sat Scorpius. Between the two of them was the solid wooden table where a single candle stood, flickering softly and giving the area a soft glow. Harry looked solemnly at both his son and Scorpius.

“Scorpius and Albus, we need to plan how you're going to get into the house. Now Professor Higgins had written me a letter as well informing me of what you're expected to do. I'm aware you boys have a pack full of things which will be useful for your investigation. Did you guys leave that at home, or did you bring it with you?”

Scorpius and Albus looked at each other in confusion. What pack? All their memories included arriving home, settling in and then heading straight to town. No packs included. Albus voiced their thoughts.

“Dad, what are you talking about? We didn’t get any pack.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, Harry shot to his feet and pointed his wand at the both of them.

“Get up and place your hands where I can see them! Both of you are under arrest for the kidnapping of Albus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy. You have the right to remain silent, anything you say or do may be held against you in a court of law."

A/N: Well you don't expect me to actually let them properly meet do you? XD Anyways happy New Years everyone! I hope you guys have an awesome year and thanks for picking my story to read! :D Erm... I'm sorry for taking so long to write the chapter expecially because I said you wouldn't have to wait as long... I guess there's not really an excuse apart from me being a world class procrastinator who's trying to get over it... :( Ah well, I know I've said this a lot but I promise you the next chapter will come a lot faster than this one. So yeah! Happy holidays and please review!
