I walked into the flat that I shared with my boyfriend, Nikolas Mewes, to see him reading a copy of the Daily Prophet on the couch. A smile came across my face. I had been waiting all day to see him.
"Hey, babe." I said leaning down and kissing him.
"Hey, gorgeous." He said pulling me down on the couch. "I missed you."
"I missed you too." I said. "How was work?"
"Great." Nik said smiling. He just loved his job as an International Quidditch Star. He played as a Chaser for the Tutshill Tornadoes. "We made some new plays that are spectacular. The Wasps had better watch out."
I smiled back. "Sounds like a great day."
"How was your day at work?" He asked me.
I groaned. "I'm going to kill those boys!" I was the manager and publisist of the Falmouth Falcons. The most trouble making team Quidditch has ever seen. I just wish they could not cause trouble for at least twenty four hours, so the press could get of my arse. But I do love them, even though I want to crazy murder all of them.
"It's hard being the manager and the publisist for the league's best team." I said.
"You mean second best team, Spencer." Nik teased.
I laughed. "No, I'm pretty sure I said it right." Nik and I had a little friendly competition when it came to our teams.
Nik suddenly kissed me. "Happy anniversary." He said.
"Happy anniversary to you too." I said smiling.
Nik and I had now been together for six years. We had been living together for two. And last year we got matching tattoos of the Converse symbol on the inside of our wrists. Life with Nik was pretty damn amazing.
"So, what are we doing tonight?" I asked him. "Staying in, or going out?"
"We're going out." He replied, smiling.
"Okay, I'm going to go change then." I said getting up and walking into our room.
"What should I wear?" I called to Nik.
"Um, something fancy, yet casual. Oh, that white dress. You always look good in that." He called back.
I found the white dress he was talking about. I threw my work clothes of a t-shirt and jeans off, and slipped the dress over my head. "Can I wear Converse?" I asked.
I smiled as I put on my navy blue low top Converse. I walked back into the living room. I did a twirl. "How do I look?" I asked.
"Stunning." Nik said simply. It's amazing how he can make me feel so good, using only one word.
"Come on, let's go." I said grabbing his hand and pulling him out of the flat.
"So, where are we going, then?" I asked as we walked down the street.
"To that new seafood place you've been dying to go to." He answered.
"We're going to Yellow Tail?!" I asked in disbelief.
Nik nodded. When we arrived we were seated immediately, because we're kind of famous. Unfortunately, when I say 'kind of' I mean 'really' famous. The press follow us everywhere and we're known as the Wizarding World's hottest couple, which annoys us both. But it does come in handy when going out to restaurants, or having run ins with the law. Don't ask.
"This place is amazing!" I gushed after the waiter (who was rather starstruck) took our drink order.
"Only the best for you." Nik said smiling.
"I love you." I said.
"I know." He said.
I glared at him, threateningly. "I mean, I love you too." He said.
"That's what I thought."
Nik reached across the table and grabbed my hand. "I can't believe we've been together for six years."
"Me neither." I said. "I feel like we've been together forever already. I never want this to change."
"Yeah, me too." He said smiled. "Speaking of together forever, don't forget that we're going to Hermione and Ron's wedding on Saturday."
I groaned. "Do we have to?" I asked.
"Yes, Spencer. They're both my friends and I want to be there to support them. And I want you to be there to support me, while I support them."
"Babe, I get that, but I feel like you're forgetting that me and Granger hate eachother." I replied.
"That's kind of hard to forget, but sweetie, will you please be nice to her on Saturday, it is her wedding day." Nik pleaded.
"All right, but only because you're so nice when we have dinner at Pansy and Draco's. Which reminds me,we're having dinner there Friday night, okay?"
We were silent for a few moments. "Spencer, do you think Hermione and Ron are too young to get married?" He asked me.
I thought for a moment. "Not really. Twenty-two is a pretty decent age to be getting married, I suppose. Why?"
"No reason." He answered, seeming to be thinking hard about something.
That was strange, I thought. "What about kids, do you think we're-I mean they're too young to have kids?" Nik asked, studying me hard.
Again, I thought. "Um, yeah." I answered. "It would be okay in like three or four years, though. Why? Are they already thinking about having kids?"
"Um, I think so. I was just seeing your take on things. Okay, so not young enough to get married, but too young to have kids."
I stared at him strangely. Why was he acting so weird? Maybe the wedding was making him feel funny weird, which is why he needed me there with him. Yeah, that must be it.
"I still can't believe Granger is getting married." I said half way through dinner.
"Why? Do you think it's too soon?" Nik asked quickly.
"Nooo." I said slowly. "I just can't believe someone would actually want to spend the rest of their life with her."
Nik chuckled, it seemed to be a nervous one. He must really be nervous about this wedding. A thought struck me. What if he was now regretting not staying with Granger, and he planned on stopping the wedding?! That would explain his nervousness about the wedding, and Granger getting married.
There's no way, I assured myself. Nik loves you and wouldn't leave you no matter what. You're just overreacting.
"Nik, is there something wrong?" I asked.
"Huh? What do you mean?" He asked quickly.
"I mean, is there something you want to talk about or something you're not telling me?"
"No, of course not, I just want to enjoy our wonderful dinner." He insisted.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"All right then." I decided to change the subject. "The press aren't anywhere in sight, wonder why."
Nik smiled mischeviously. "Maybe because someone tipped them off that we were celebrating our anniversary in Diagon Alley." He said.
I smiled too. "You didn't!" I exclaimed.
He nodded. "You are so amazing!" I said shaking my head. "I'm so lucky to have you."
Nik scoffed. "Please, everyone knows I'm the lucky one. I have the most stunning girl in the world and the most unorthodox relationship out there. My life is perfect because of you Spencer."
"And my life would be a disaster without you, Nikolas." I said seriously. It was so true too. He leaned across the table and kissed me softly.
"Where are we going now?" I asked.
"A walk in your favorite park." Nik asked, grabbing my hand.
We had been walking through the park for about fifteen minutes when Nik suddenly stopped. "What are you doing?" I asked.
He took both of my hands in his. "Spencer, we've been together for six years now, and they've been the best of my life. You completely altered my life in the best way possible. And without you I would be nothing. You are my everything. And if you ever left me I think I would die, and if not, I'd be dead inside. Just the thought of not being with you for the rest of my life is absolute torture. I want you to be with me forever, I want you to be the mother of my children. I am so in love with you, there's no way out. I want you to be my wife. So..."
Nik got down on one knee and pulled a velvet box out of his pocket. Oh my fucking Merlin, is he going to propose?!?!
"Spencer Leigh Cassel, will you marry me?"
Oh, no, not again...
A/N: Hey! Here it is, the sequel. Hope you liked it. Tell me what you think! Thanks for reading! :)
Nik looked at me at me confused. "I-um said will you marry me?"
Will you marry me?
The four word question every girl dreams of hearing. After the three small words of I love you of course. But I didn't do so well with the three small words, so these four words scared the shit out of me.
Will I marry Nik? I thought back to the promise I made to Nik four and a half years ago when we got back together.
"I promise whenever you're ready to take the next step, I will be too. No matter what it is."
Here it was, the next step. We had moved in together, got matching tattoos. I knew what I had to do. What I wanted to do.
"No-I mean yes. Yes, I will marry you!" I exclaimed as tears filled my eyes.
"Really?" He asked in relief.
Nik put the ring on my finger, and stood up to kiss me. I couldn't believe it, we were engaged, we're getting married!
"For a second there, I thought you would say no." Nik said.
"I was just so shocked for a moment." I admitted.
"I can't believe we're getting married!" He exclaimed.
"This is gonna be great!"
"Something smells amazing." Nik said walking into the kitchen. He came behind me and kissed me. "Wait a minute, are you cooking?!" He asked in shock.
"Yeah." I said turning to face him.
"Spencer, baby, are you sick or something?" He asked feeling my forehead, checking if I had a fever.
"No, I just wanted to make you breakfast. I mean,we're going to be married soon, so I thought I should start cooking.
"Seriously?" He asked, still looking concerned.
"Yes." I said turning my attention back to the stove where I was cooking an omlet. "But don't expect dinner to be cooked, because that is just not happening. Your arms aren't broken, you can make it yourself."
"Now that sounds like my finacče." Nik said sitting down at the table.
I smiled, still not believing I was getting married. I looked down at the stunning diamond ring on my left ring finger. I was really engaged! I placed the omlet in front of Nik as he opened the Daily Prophet.
"Hey, honey?" I asked slowly.
"Yeah, baby?" He asked putting the newspaper down and looking at me curiously.
"Have you, um, thought about when we're going to tell everybody about us being engaged?"
"No, why?" He asked.
I sat down on his lap, and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Because I have, and I was thinking that maybe we should keep it quiet for a few days." I said sweetly, hoping to convince him.
Nik looked at me confused. "Why?" He asked.
"So we can get used to it ourselves. It's just for a few days, okay?" I said.
He thought about it for a moment. "I guess that's not a bad idea." He said finally. "But, when do you want to tell everyone?"
"You can decide that." I said.
"Um...oh! The wedding! We'll tell everyone at Ron and Hermione's wedding. All our friends and aquaintances will be there. What do you think?"
I shrugged, "Sounds fine to me." I said. "But what about out teams?"
"What about them?" Nik asked.
"Shouldn't we tell them, considering planning the wedding might take time, and we need to give them a heads up?" I explained.
"Yeah, we should."
"All right, we tell our teams, and make sure they keep it quiet until Saturday." I said.
"You are so smart." Nik said kissing me. He took a bite of his omlet. "And a great cook."
"Well, I actually kiss better than I cook." I said smiling.
"Hmm, really? I'll be the judge of that." He said. He kissed me again. He tasted like the omlet, it actually was pretty good. I am a good cook.
"So, how about we both stay home from work today?" Nik asked kissing my neck. "Just have the day to ourselves, maybe talk about the wedding, if we're not too busy."
He was very persuasive. "Umm..." was all I could respond with. I wasn't sure if the guys could handle things without me, but I wanted to spend the day with Nik. "You know, that is a gre-" I stopped.
Something in the Daily Prophet caught my eye. I grabbed it and read the title.
Falmouth Falcons Out for a Wild Night.
Damn it! The pictures showed them drinking and partying. "Oh, shit, I have to get to work!" I said getting off of Nik's lap.
"What's wrong?!" Nik asked bewildered.
"Look at the newspaper." I said looking for my purse.
"Oh." He said.
"Yeah, oh. The press is going to have a fucking field day! I told them not to do this! I'm going to kill them!" I exclaimed.
"So, no day together?" Nik asked.
"I'm so sorry, babe." I said. "But I have to deal with this. How about tomorrow instead?" I asked putting on my shoes.
"Sure." He said. I could tell he was disappointed.
"I'm really sorry. But at least now you can tell your team sooner. And, hey, how about we have lunch today?" I suggested.
"All right." Nik answered, mustering a smile.
"That's my fiancč." I said giving him a quick kiss. "I love you."
"I love you too." He said, and then I flew out of the door.
I entered the locker room, the boys were talking loudly, they didn't even notice me enter. "Hey!" I yelled.
They all quieted down and sat around me. "Hey, Spencer, what's up?" Scott Wallace, the Keeper asked, a goofy smile on his face.
"What's up? I'll tell you what's up, this is what's up!" I said showing them the newspaper.
"Hey,guys, we made the Daily Prophet again!" Tucker Hilton, one of the Beaters exclaimed happily.
"Hey, that's not a good picture of me." Tyson Lance, one of the Chasers complained.
"Hello!" I exclaimed. "This is not okay! I specifically told you not to go out partying and drinking, and you still did it. And you're in the fucking newspaper!"
"Whoa, there, Spencer. Let's calm down, okay?" The Captain and Seeker, Donovan Holder said. "How about tonight we go out for drinks?" He suggested.
"No." I said. "Going out for drinks is what got us here. The press is gonna be all over my arse for this!"
"Lucky press." Vincent Marron, the other Beater muttered.
"Shut it, Vince!" I snapped.
Tom Penn, one of the other Chaser high fived Vince, and I glared at him. He looked away from my glare.
"You guys are killing me." I said. "I tell you to do one thing, and you do the complete opposite."
"We just wanted to have some fun." Greg Byron, the last Chaser shrugged.
I sighed. Somtimes it was so hard to stay mad at them. "I know, but everything you guys do affects me. I'm the one who has to deal with press. You all know that Rita Skeeter is a bitch, and she'll cause trouble. And I won't always be around to stop the trouble."
"Are you quitting?!" Tom asked bewildered.
"No." I said.
"Are you resigning?" Vince asked.
"That's the same thing as quitting, you moron." Tucker said before I could respond.
"No, I'm not resigning either." I said before Vince could retort.
"Well, what's going on?" Donovan asked.
"Well, as you know, yesterday was mine and Nik's anniversary. And well, he asked me to marry him, and I said yes." I showed them the ring on my finger. Everyone started talking.
"Look at the size of that thing!" Tyson exclaimed.
"Congrats, Spencer!" Scott said.
"It's about time!" Tom said.
"We get to come to the wedding, right?!" Greg asked.
I just laughed and signalled for them to be quiet. "Thanks guys. And of course you can come to the wedding. I just need to ask you guys to do something. Keep this quiet until Saturday."
"We can do that." Vince said like it was nothing.
I looked around the others. They mumbled "okay."
"Okay, good, we have no idea when the wedding will be, but I'll let you guys know." I said.
"Aww, guys, our little Spencer is growing up and getting married." Donovan said smiling.
"Oh, shut up." I replied. "This doesn't mean I'm becoming soft, I will still kick all of you arses."
"Oh, but of course." Tyson joked.
"All right, now get out there and remind me why I waste my time on you idiots!"
"All right, run that play again!" I shouted.
"Hey, Spencer, someone is here to see you!" Donovan called from his broom.
I turned around to see Nik walking towards me. "Hey." I said as he approached.
"They're not looking too bad." Nik said. "We'll need to practice harder."
"Hey, no spying." I said pulling him into a kiss.
"Aww, how cute!"
"Did you save some of that for us?!"
"Hey, did I tell you guys to stop?!" I yelled at them. They laughed and continued.
"So, we still on for lunch?" Nik asked.
"Of course." I answered. "Hey, morons! Hour and a half lunch, then back here to discuss strategies of how to stay out of the newspaper!" I shouted before taking Nik's hand.
"How did those strategies go?" Nik asked as I walked into the flat.
"I'm not entirely sure I got through to them, but I guess we'll find out." I shrugged.
"Come here." Nik said.
I walked over to couch and sat down on his lap. "Do you want to marry me?" He asked.
"Of course I do." I answered.
He studied me for a moment. "Okay. I just wanted to make sure we're not rushing anything."
"We're not." I assured him. "This is the perfect pace."
He laid back, bringing me with him. "All right, good." He smiled. "Damn, I love you."
I smiled back. "Well, you're in luck, because I love you too." I said before kissing my fiancč.
Nik and I were standing outside of the Malfoy Manor, waiting for Pansy and Draco to answer the door. They had been together for three years, and they lived together, but were nowhere near getting married.
"Spencer?" Nik asked.
"Huh?" I asked turning to him.
"I was thinking that since we're gonna be here with our friends tonight, why wait to tell them about us being engaged? There's no point in making them wait until tommorow, is there?"
I smiled and threw my arms around his neck, kissing him. I was glad he said that, because I wasn't sure how much longer I could keep it from Pansy, Leanne, and Ana.
"I'll take that as a yes." He grinned.
"Yes! That is wonderful!" I said before smirking. "You're just itching to tell somebody, huh?"
He smiled, pulling me back in. "Don't act like you're not." We kissed again, just as the door was opening.
"How many times do I have to tell you two to take care of your sexual needs before you get here?" Pansy asked, her hands on her hips.
"The same amount of times that you told us not to be late." I said as we walked in the door.
We walked into their large dining where everyone was already seated, and as usual waiting for me and Nik to show up.
"Finally!" Draco said. "I'm starving."
"Nice to see you too, mate." Nik joked.
Nik and Draco got on surprisingly well. At first things were tense when Pansy and Draco started dating, but now everything was fine. Nik also got along with Ana and Leanne's boyfriend.
We sat down at our usual spots and started eating.
"So, Spencer, I saw your boys in the Daily Prophet a few days ago. They seem to still be having fun." Ana's boyfriend, Lance Bacy said smirking.
"Oh, bite me, Lance." I snapped.
He shrugged. "Maybe I will."
"Leave my girl alone, Lance." Nik said jokingly. "I haven't quite tamed her yet, she still bites back."
Everyone laughed. "I hate to break the news to you, Nik, but no one can tame Spencer." Ana said smiling at me.
"Don't worry, I will soon, you see-aah." I stamped on his foot under the table.
"Not yet." I whispered.
No one seemed to notice what was happening between us.
"So, how was you guy's anniversary?" Leanne asked.
Nik and I looked at eachother. "Fine." We said at the same time.
"That's it?" Jeff, Leanne's boyfriend asked. "Nothing more, just fine?"
I forced a laugh. "Well, after you've already had five, the sixth one isn't anything too special." I said.
"Yeah, we just went out to dinner, that's it." Nik agreed. I could tell he was just dying to tell them, and I was too, but wanted to wait until after dinner.
I looked down at my left ring finger. I had turned the ring around so that only the plain silver part showed, and the diamond was hidden. It kept poking me.
After dinner, when we were all sitting around in the living room, Nik poked me and gave me a look. I nodded, and we both got up. Nik cleared his throat loudly and everyone looked at us.
"Nik and I have announcement to make..." I looked at him to finish.
"We're getting married." He said beaming.
Everyone's jaw dropped before all talking at once. I turned the ring around and showed them. More exclamations came from that. Nik and I smiled, waiting for them to stop talking. Finally, they stopped.
"Goodness, you guys talk a lot." I said shaking my head. "You girls, will of course be my bridesmaids, along with Nik's sister if she agrees to it. And Pansy, will you be my Maid of Honor?"
Pansy screamed. "YES!!" And jumped up, pulling me in a bonecrushing hug. "Yes, yes, yes!"
"Okay, choking me, can't breathe. Can't get married if I'm dead you know." I managed. She let go of me, smiling brightly.
"And you guys will my...bridesmen, so to speak." Nik said. "Along with Ron. And if my brother denies it, Draco, will you be my Best Man?"
Draco looked taken aback. "Uh,yeah sure." He said, smiling.
"Great. So, tomorrow, at Ron and Hermione's wedding, we're telling everyone. Try to act surprised." I said.
"How long have you two been engaged?" Leanne asked cruriously.
"Since our boring, not too special anniversary." Nik answered.
"What?!" Everyone exclaimed. They again all started talking all at once about how we kept it a secret and how we should have told them sooner.
It's going to be a long night.
"Come on, baby, we can't be late!" Nik called as I pulled on my shoes.
"I'm coming, right now!" I called back while searching for the necklace Nik gave me two years ago. I found it and quickly put it on.
"Don't forget the camera!" He said. I rolled my eyes and grabbed the camera. Why did we have to take pictures of their stupid wedding?
I stepped into the room. Nik looked so handsome in his suit. Nik smiled as he looked at me, until he saw my shoes. "Spencer, you can't wear Converse to a wedding!"
I groaned. "Why not? They go with my dress, don't they?"
"Yes, they do, and you look amazing, but you know Hermione will have a heart attack." He said. "And before you say anything, yes, that would be a bad thing."
I sighed. "Fine, I'll go put on some stupid heels for Granger." I grumbled. Instead of wearing my red hightops with my strapless black dress, I put on red heels.
"There, is that better?" I asked.
"Spencer, you know how great I think you look in Converse, so, no. But for the wedding yes." Nik said.
"Let's just get this over with." I said holding out my hand so we could Apparate together.
Weasley and Granger were having an outside wedding. It was beautifully decorated with twinkling lights. I started thinking of what mine and Nik's wedding would look like. Way better than Granger's that's for sure.
We were led to our seats and sat down. "You rushed me for no reason, it hasn't even started yet." I whispered to Nik.
"Well, I thought we were running late." Nik said.
"Weddings never start on time, common knowledge." I said.
"What about ours?" He asked smiling. "Is it going to start on time?"
"Well, weddings tend to start late, because the bride is having second thoughts about getting married, so...ours is going to be right on time, because I have no second thoughts."
Nik kissed me. "I can't wait to marry you." He said.
"You say that now. When it happens, you'll be begging me for a divorce." I joked.
Before he could respond, the music started playing and we all watched as the Flower Girl, Ring Bearer, Bridesmen (Nik would have been one, but Weasley's got like ten brothers) and Bridesmaids walked down the aisle. Finally, Granger was coming, with her Father.
She looked good for being, well her. Her dress was form fitting and very big. The straps were very thin, and her hair was in tight neat curls, as opposed to it's usual bushiness. I was almost happy for her.
That was until I noticed that her eyes would wander over to Nik instead of Weasley the whole service. And when the preacher said "Speak now of forever hold your peace." I could have sworn she glanced at Nik to see if he would. Honestly, I was right there with her. I even grabbed his hand, to remind him he was with me.
But, Nik didn't even flinch when that was said. I let out a quiet sigh of relief. Finally the ceremony was over, and Weasley and Granger kissed. The party started immediately after.
Nik and I sat at a table with our friends, just laughing, and occasionally whispering about our engagement. The food was quite good, and I was actually having fun. When Granger came over and talked to us, I was very polite and congratulated her on getting married. She was polite too, but we both knew we still hated eachother.
The time for toasts came, and after sitting through four of the most boring speeches by Mr. Weasley, Harry Potter, Mr. Granger, and Weasley himself, Nik was tapping his spoon to his glass and standing up.
"Hi, everyone." He said. "I'm Nikolas, if you don't know. I'm very close friends with both the bride and the groom, and I'm so happy for them. I wish them the best in their marriage. And what a beautiful wedding this huh? They sure know how to throw a party."
There was laughter throughout the room. "And since we're on this subject of weddings and marriage, I have an announcement. You all know the beautiful, stunning girl next to me, Spencer. We've been together for six years, and we're...engaged to be married."
I stood up, and Nik planted a kiss on my lips. The room was filled with talking and exclamations, but none louder than the "What?!" heard from Granger. She took the news quite well.
People continued talking. Why did everyone feel the need to talk all at once when they heard big news? The paparazzi were snapping pictures of me and Nik. I showed everyone the ring. Instead of talking, there was gasping.
"This is insane!" Nik whispered.
"Wait until our families find out." I whispered.
Nik looked at me as though he had just remembered them. We were in for an interesting talk with our families, that's for sure.

"Hey, Spencer, do you have some rouge or cover up, or foudation, or some make up in that form?" Nik asked.
I gave him a strange look. "Um, now that we're getting married, is there something you want to tell me?" I asked.
"No, but I need to cover this up." He responded, gesturing to his tatoo.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because I don't want my Mother to see this. She'll kill me."
"I'm not giving you make up to hide something from your Mother. You're an adult." I said shaking my head.
"Fine, I need to change into a long sleeve shirt." He said turning away. I grabbed his arm.
"Nikolas, you are a twenty two year old man. You should be able to make a decision without your Mother's permission, don't you think?" I asked.
He sighed. "Yes, I suppose so."
"Good. I mean if she can handle us living together, she can handle a small tatoo."
"Um, about us living together." Nik started. "Uh, could you not mentoin that we sleep in the same room?" He asked.
I raised my eyrbrows at him. "And why not?" I asked.
"My parents might think we sleep in seperate rooms." He said.
"And why might they think that?"
"Because I told them we did." Nik blurted out.
"Nik!" I exclaimed.
"I didn't want them thinking we were having sex together." He explained.
"We've been sleeping together for five years." I said.
"Well, they don't need to know that."
I shook my head at him. "Is there any other lies you've told your parents that I should know about?" I asked.
"Oh, don't act like you haven't told your parents a few lies about our relationship." He said crossing his arms in front of his broad, muscular chest.
What were we talking about? I could only focus on how good he looked in his tight green shirt and his jeans. And how his gorgeous hazel eyes looked me up and down wating for an answer.
"Um..." What was the question? Oh, now I remember. "Yes, but nothing as big as us not having sex."
Sex. That sounded nice right now. Especially with how good Nik was looking right now.
"Either way you've told lies, so don't judge me." Nik said. Oh, Merlin, he's so hot.
"I wouldn't if you weren't being such a pansy arse Mummy's boy, who can't do anything without her permission." I said putting my hands on my hips.
He raised his eyebrows and took a step closer. "Well,at least I'm not a hard arse rebel who is insistant on doing anything that will piss her parents off." I don't think I've ever been so mad and attacted to him.
"You are a prick!" I yelled.
"And you are obnoxious!" He shouted.
We glared at eachother for a moment before we slammed our lips together in a heated, angry, and passionate kiss.
Nik rammed me into the wall, hard, and kissed me even harder. I pulled away only to tug his shirt over his head and off of his body. He pulled off my shirt, and then kissed me again, his hands sliding down my body. I pushed him away towards the bed, where he dragged me with him. We fell down hard on the bed, and continued the kiss.
Before I know what is happening, we're tearing the rest of eachother's clothes off, and we're having extremely enjoyable sex, even though we're supposed to be meeting our families...
We showed up about a half an hour late to dinner with our families. The sex was so worth it though.
"What took you two so long?" My Father asked when we arrived at the restaraunt.
"Um, I got caught up in some work stuff." I said.
"So much about not lying about us having sex." Nik whispered in my ear as he pulled my chair out.
I elbowed him in the stomache. "Shut up." I muttered.
We sat down and smiled. On the inside I was nervous. We had yet to tell our families about the engagement, and we were telling them tonight. It's crazy that the whole Wizarding World know two days before our families. But there's a reason for that.
No matter how much our families accepted our relationship, I knew they didn't want us getting married. They didn't exactly like eachother.
"So, how have things been?" My Mum asked me.
"Great. Work is great, everthing is just wonderful." I answered, still nervous.
"Yeah, everything is just fine." Nik added in.
"So, Nikolas, darling, how was Hermione and Ron's wedding?" Mrs. Mewes asked.
"It was a beautiful wedding." Nik answered. "Very classy and well orchestrated."
I looked at Nik. He was even more nervous than I was. I could tell by his use of strange phrases, such as 'well orchestrated'.
"Sounds lovely." Mrs. Mewes said. "It's funny, I always imagined you and Hermione getting married. But of course you met Spencer..."
You could hear the bitterness in her voice. When she finds out about us getting married, I wonder what will be in her voice. Probably utter hate, and disappointment in Nik's choice. Oh joy.
"Well, Mum, speaking of marriages and weddings," Nik started. "We-"
"Really enjoyed Hermione and Ron's." I interupted quickly. "Wonderful ceremony, really."
I just wasn't ready to drop the engagement bomb. Everyone started at me strangly.
"What is wrong with you?" My obnoxious brother, Steven asked me.
"Nothing." I said quickly. "I just really enjoyed the wedding."
Mum chuckled. "I remember when you were younger, you always wanted to get married." She said. "And then I remember you wanted to marry that Blaise Zabini. You two were perfect together."
"You wanted to marry Zabini?" Nik asked surprised. And not the good kind either.
I nervously forced a laugh. "Um, yeah, but that was so long ago, I barely even remember wanting to." Of course I remember, but Nik didn't have to know that.
"Oh, honey, how could you forget?" Dad asked. "It was only what? Not even a year before you and Nikolas got together. All you ever talked about was Blaise. You swore up and down you were in love with the boy."
Thank you, Dad. This moment couldn't get any more awkward.
Steven laughed. "And remember when you had pictures of you and him plastered on your wall and you insisted we called you Mrs. Spencer Zabini?"
Okay, obviously it can. "Um, no I don't remember that." I said avoiding Nik's eyes.
"It's okay, Spencer." Nik's brother, Anthony said. "Nikolas used to be obssessed with Hermione. He used to follow her around and read whatever book she was reading, just so he could make sure they'd have something to talk about."
"Or remember when he used to pretend to be bad at some class so she could help him?" Nik's sister Rebecca laughed.
"I didn't do that!" Nik objected. It was completely obvious that he did.
"That's nothing compared to when Spencer would make sure she got detention whenever Blaise did, just so she could spend time with him." Steven challenged.
"Well, get this, Nikolas used to hang around in the library all day just waiting for Hermione to show up, and pretend he happened to just get there." Anthony said.
"Spencer would wait in the common room for Blaise to come down for breakfast, and she would wait for him to head up to bed."
This had to stop. What could I say to end this? Of course.
"We're getting married!" I exclaimed. And so did Nik. Thank Merlin we're on the same page with this.
"Who is 'we'?" Mr. Mewes asked.
"Me and Spencer, Dad." Nik said in an obvious tone.
"Oh." Mrs. Mewes said, unenthusiastically.
"Are you serious?" Steven asked.
"Of course we are, stupid." I snapped.
"Well, that-that's great, sweetie." Mum said. She was definitely lying.
"So, um, Anthony, wanna be my Best Man?" Nik asked.
"Do you have a back up?" Anthony asked.
"Then, no, your back up will probably do a better job." He said. Well, at least that wasn't a lie.
"True..." Nik whispered.
"And Rebecca, would you be one of my Bridesmaids?" I asked very nicely.
"Uh, sure." She said, forcing a smile. No, she didn't.
"So you two are really doing this?" Mrs. Mewes asked. Her tone wasn't hateful, it was desperate, but still disappointed. Great.
Nik and I looked at eachother. "Yes." We both answered.
A/N: Sorry no chapter image, but there will be one next chapter. Thanks for reading! :)
"Come on, Spencer."
"At least think about it for a moment."
Nik gave me his most pleading look. "Come, on, let Hermione come with you girls to pick out dresses."
"Why?" I asked.
"Because she's already been through all of this, and she could be some help. Not mention...I already said she could come." He muttered.
"You what?" I asked.
"Well, when I said she could come, I was hoping you would be a lot more reasonable than you're actually being right now." He explained.
"We're getting married in five weeks, I don't have to be reasonable. What I have to do is find a wedding dress, pick out the cake, pick out decent looking bridesmaid dresses, find shoes that aren't going to kill my feet, and manage the idiots that others call Quidditch players. Being reasonable isn't on my list of things to do." I said quickly all in one breath.
"Is making me happy?" Nikolas asked.
I rolled my eyes. "I suppose so."
"Then let her come." He said.
"Fine." I said. "But one smart arse remark, and she's gone."
"Thanks." Nik said, kissing me. "Just think in five weeks, we'll be married, and tied down to eachother forever."
"I know." I sighed happily. "I can't wait."
"You say that now, but once it happens, you'll be begging me for a divorce." He joked.
"Oh, ha ha." I said sarcastically.
"Pansy sent out the wedding invitations, right?" Nik asked.
"Yeah, last week. She is truly the best Maid of Honor, she hasn't screwed up once. How's Draco doing?"
"Pretty good, actually. Though I suspect Pansy is doing some of his work for him."
"At least it's getting done somehow, huh?" I grinned.
"So," Nik said pulling me closer. "How much time do you have before you have to go? This is the most alone time we've had in ages."
I smiled. "About fifteen minutes."
"Just enough time." He whispered, as we fell on the couch.
"You're late." Pansy said.
"It's my wedding dress search, I'm allowed to be late." I said adjusting my hair.
"Question." Pansy said.
"What?" I asked.
"Why is Granger here?" She asked.
I looked around and spotted Granger looking through the clothes on the racks.
"Nik invited her." I said. "He thought she might be some help."
Pansy rolled her eyes in response just as Granger was approaching us.
"Thanks for letting me come along." Granger said, forcing a smile on her face.
"No problem." I said, also forcing a smile.
"I hope I can be of some help." She said.
"I'm sure you will be." I lied.
Half an hour later, I still had no luck finding a dress. They were either too ruffly or big, or just down right ugly. So, instead I had the girls try on some dresses, hoping at least get the Bridesmaid dilemma done with.
Granger sat next to me, as I waited for the girls as they tried on multiple dresses. She only gave her opinion when asked.
"So are you excited for the wedding?" She asked.
"Very." I answered, unable to keep the smile off my face.
"Where's the honeymoon going to be?"
"We're going to spend a month in Australia." I said.
"That sounds nice." She said. "I'm guessing it won't be your first time on your honeymoon?"
"You mean like sex?" I asked. She nodded. I laughed. "Definitely not. Nik and I have been sleeping together for five years. And even before that, you know."
"Oh, yeah I get it. Ron wasn't my first either." Granger shared. "But I'll never forget my first. You might find this awkward, but Nikolas was my first."
I just stared at her. She must be crazy. There's no way Nik was her first. "Um, I think you're mistaken." I said. "I was Nik's first."
"I know." She said. "I never said I was his first. But he was mine."
"But he couldn't have been. He's only ever been with me. You must have been hallucinating." I said.
"I'm not." She insisted. "I remember the day, November 22nd, in our seventh year."
Everything suddenly stopped. November 22nd was the day that Nik told me he loved me for the first time. But Granger claimed they had sex that very day.
"No, it can't be." I whispered.
"Oh, but it is. Didn't Nikolas ever tell you?" Her voice was mocking. That stupid bitch! She had told me this knowing damn well that I didn't know.
I looked up at her. A smirk was on her face, but I could tell she wasn't lying. Which meant that Nik cheated on me the same day he said he loved me. He'd been lying to me for four and a half years.
Before I could stop myself, I balled my fist up, and hit Granger in the face just like I had the day I got back with Nik. She fell out of her chair, on to the floor.
"Bitch!" I spat at her. I then apparated out of that place.
Then I was in mine and Nik's flat. Our home. He wasn't there. I looked around, everything was exactly how it was when I left it. There was no evidence of Nik cheating and his lies. It was as though everything was the same as before. But it's not, everything has changed.
The tears filled up in my eyes, as I struggled to keep them down, but I couldn't. I was sobbing. When had my life with Nik become a huge lie? I never once doubted my relationship with Nik for a second, and now, I doubted everything about it. What else had he lied about?
I closed my eyes, hoping when I opened them, this would all be a dream. Yeah, right. I couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't stand to look at our living room. It was a lie. All around it there was pictures of me and Nik, smiling happily. That was before I knew, of course.
There was our couch we bought together. Our beautiful glass coffee table, gifts from over the years, the newspaper, books we read together. A wooden stand with four shelves, filled with so many of our possessions. All of it was a trick, a lie.
I walked into our bedroom, as though I was possessed, and grabbed Nik's broomstick. I walked back into the living room, and stood there for a moment. I lifted the broom above my head, and smashed it down on the coffee table. Glass flew everywhere, some of it cutting my arms, but I didn't care. I smashed the table until all the glass was broken.
I walked over to the wooden stand, and smashed everything on there too. Things landed all over the floor, some managed to stay in one piece, but most ended up shattered into tiny pieces. I hit his broomstick hard on the stand, cracking it. I hit it until it fully broke. I threw it to the ground.
I picked up a large piece of broken glass, and dragged it across our couch, ripping the fabric, revealing only the stuffing. Hot tears continued to roll down my face. I angrily wiped them away as I abandoned the piece of glass, and grabbed the books, ripping pages out of them, and then throwing them hard in different directions.
All that was left was the pictures. I picked up every single one, and threw them against the wall, just listening to glass shatter, and the thump sound of the frame hitting the floor. When I was done, I collapsed in the middle of the room, feeling so drained, and like everything else in the room, broken.
How long had it been since I'd blacked out? How long did I lie on the floor in the middle of the destruction I had caused? I didn't know.
What I did know was that the door was opening. "Spencer, can you explain to me why you hit Hermione in the face and why-what the hell?" Nik had walked into the broken room.
"Are you okay? Were we robbed?" His voice was panicked as he lifted me up.
"No." I said blankly.
"T-then who did this?"
"Why?" Nik asked.
The tears were coming back. "Because you slept with her." I cried.
He looked confused. "Who? I didn't sleep with anyone. I didn't cheat on you."
"Liar!" I screamed pushing him away. "Granger told me what happened in seventh year. How could you do that?"
Realization came across his face. "Spencer you have to listen to me, what happened, it meant nothing, I swear."
"The same day you told me you loved me, Nik. The same fucking day and you slept with her!"
"I know, Spencer, babe, just-"
"Don't 'babe' me right now." I said quietly. "Don't you dare."
"Just let me explain." Nik pleaded.
"You can explain all you want, but that won't change that you cheated on me, and you lied to me for four and a half years." I said shaking my head.
"You have to understand-"
"There's nothing you can say to make me understand how you told me you tell me you love me,and then later that day you have sex with her. And then the next day-" I had come to my own realization. "That's the reason you broke up with me, isn't it? Because of her?"
"Please don't lie to me." I whispered, wiping my face.
He sighed. "Yes. I-I was confused and I was going to tell you, but I figured you'd dump me when I did, so I just..."
"Decided to dump me first." I finished. "Were you ever going to tell me?"
Nik opened his mouth and then closed it. "No." He said honestly. "I couldn't risk losing you again."
"How's that working out for you, Nik?" I asked. He didn't answer. "I can't believe this."
"Spencer, this doesn't change anything. I'm still in love with you." He said.
"Nikolas, this changes everything!" I exclaimed.
"But not us."
"That's what it changes the most. You cheated and you lied. Now I have to rethink everything, I'm doubting everything about our relationship. I have seconds thoughts about everything. What you've said, what we've done together...us getting married." I said quietly, not believing I was actually saying it.
Nikolas looked like he was on the verge of tears. "Spencer, you can't seriously be thinking about calling off the marriage. You can't." He said desperately.
I closed my eyes. "I have to think about that. How am I supposed to spend the rest of my life with someone I can't trust?" I asked.
He swallowed hard. "W-we can maybe figure something out. Please don't call off the wedding." Now he was crying, and it was killing me.
"I'm sorry, but I have to consider it." I said. "I can't spend my life wondering if everything you say to me is a lie or not. I can't, Nikolas, and I don't want to." I was trying to blink back tears, but it wasn't working.
"What do you want?" He choked. "What do want? Just tell me what you want, and I'll give it to you. I'll do whatever you want. Please don't do this."
"You know what I want? For you to have never lied to me." I replied.
Nik put his hands over his tear stained face. "Spencer, please." He cried, dropping to his knees. "I'm begging you, don't leave me. I need you, please." He wrapped his arms around my waist.
I had never seen him like this. I tried to unwrap his arms from around me, but he only held on tighter. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Just let me explain!" His tears we making my shirt damp.
"No." I said hoarsely. "I can't do this right now. I-I need time to think and just space. I need to be alone. Let me go."
"No." He whispered. "I can't."
"Nik, please. I need to think this through." I said, crying harder.
"I can't lose you."
"You will if you don't let go." I whispered. His arms dropped, and I backed away.
"Spencer, don't leave me like this." Nik begged.
"Please don't follow me." I said grabbing my purse and going out the door. I stopped and listened. Nik was still crying. I heard him get up.
"Spencer? Spencer, come back!" He was coming.
I had apparated before he opened the door.
The rain was pounding hard when I apparated outside. I walked down the street quickly, checking behind me every few seconds to make sure Nik wasn't following behind. Everytime I looked, no one was there.
After a considerable amount of time, I realized it was getting late and I was freezing. But I couldn't think of where to go. I couldn't go home. The guys from Quidditch were at some party, even though I highly recommended they didn't go. There was only one place I could go.
I rang the doorbell, and heard it echo all through the house. About a minute later, someone answered the door. "Spencer? What are you doing here?"
"I didn't know where else to go." I cried.
Pansy quickly pulled me in the house. "What happened?" She asked. "Oh, you're all soaked, come on."
"I hope I didn't interupt anything." I said, trying to avoid the question.
"Oh, you didn't. Just having dinner with an old friend." She said, leading me into their kitchen.
"I'll be right back." Pansy said walking out quickly. I rummaged through the drawers until I found what I was looking for. I pulled a cigarrette out of the box, and lit it.
Pansy returned with Draco. "I thought you quit smoking." Draco said.
"Yeah, so did I." I said taking a drag.
"Tell us what happened." Pansy said. "Where is Nik?"
"Probably out looking for me. I left him." I said blankly.
"What? Why?" Draco asked.
"He cheated on me. With Granger." I answered.
Pansy gasped. "When?!"
"Four and a half years ago."
"I'm not following." Draco said. Any other time I would joke about how that wasn't a big surprise. But given the current situation, I didn't.
I told them the whole story. Pansy kept interputing with her gasping, and Draco with his "What?!"
Pansy is seething by the end. "How dare he? It was bad enough that he left you, but to have sex with her, that's just repulsive."
"Ugh, I can't believe Nik slept with a mudblood. He's contaminated now, you know." Draco said.
"Honestly, I'm more worried about the fact he cheated and lied." I said.
"Draco, have you ever cheated on me?" Pansy asked.
"What? No!" Draco said.
"Are you lying?" She asked.
"No. Look, I know back at school I wasn't the most faithful person, but I've changed. All those sluts I slept with in school don't mean anything anymore. I love you." They kissed and I thought for a moment.
"Hey, you slept me in school." I said.
"Oh, right..." he said. "Um all those sluts and Spencer don't mean anything. I mean, you do, just not like that, you know?"
"Wow, you are racking up some serious hits with me tonight." I said.
"Sorry." He apologized. Just then the kitchen door swung open.
"Is this how you treat guests? Leaving them at the dinner table?" My eyes widened as Blaise Zabini walked into the kitchen. This day could not get any worse.
"Spencer?" He asked when he saw me.
"Blaise." I said nodding curtly.
"Hey, um how are you? It's been awhile."
"I'm fine. Just a little soaked at the moment." I said as a lame attempt at a joke.
Blaise laughed. "Still cracking jokes, I see. Uh, so I heard you're getting married."
"Mhmm. Yeah I am. To Nik." I said quietly, wondering if that was still true.
"Wait Nikolas Mewes?! From school? You two are still together?" He asked shocked.
"Yeah. Don't you read the Prophet?" I asked.
"I actually don't. I try my best to stay away from it. Not to mention I've been in North America for the last two years."
"Oh, I didn't know that." I said.
"Yeah. But, hey, congrats. Nikolas is a lucky man. Where is he by the way?"
"He's away doing business." I lied. "I don't like being alone, so I came here." I didn't want Blaise of all people knowing my relationship was crumbling.
And I was grateful to Pansy and Draco when they didn't say anything.
"Oh, so you're staying here tonight as well?" He asked.
"Looks like it." I answered.
"Great. We have loads of catching up to do." He grinned.
"Oh, yes, loads." I muttered.
After I had put on some dry clothes, I settled down in an armchair in the den alone. Both the coffee I was drinking and the fire warmed me up. But on the inside I still felt cold. Because the only person I had ever truly given my heart to had broken it. I used to feel so warm all the time knowing I had Nik.
"You left him, didn't you?" A voice behind me asked. I looked up and saw Blaise. He sat in the armchair across from me.
"How do you know?" I asked. I just didn't have the strength to lie to him.
"I of all people know what you look like when you're broken and you've had enough." He said. I didn't say anything. "So, what did he do?"
"Same thing you did, only it feels ten times worse because I fully trusted him." I answered.
"So, he cheated, lied, and betrayed your trust?" He asked, clarifying.
"Yes, but not on a daily basis like you. It was a one time thing." I said.
"He only did it once, and you still left him?" Blaise asked.
"It feels like he did it a thousand times." I said as tears once again filled my eyes. "How can I marry someone who did that to me?"
"Good question. I have no answer to that." He replied.
"That's helpful." I said sarcastically.
"Well you know me, I'm not the smartest person. I mean, after all, I was stupid enough to hurt the only girl I ever loved." He said quietly.
I looked up at him. Did he mean me? He had hurt many girls, but never told them he loved them, only me. After everything, I thought it was a lie. You can't love someone and then treat them the way he treated me. Can you?
"Do you mean me?" I asked quietly
Blaise gave me a weak smile. "Yeah. Didn't realize I was being obvious about it."
"Well, you were. But just a bit." I laughed slightly. "And yeah, you were stupid for hurting her. She loved you. Maybe if you had been smarter she wouldn't be engaged to someone else."
"I'm sorry." He whispered. "That's the biggest regret of my life. Every day I wonder what would have happened if I would have treated you right."
"Things would be completely different." I said honestly. "Who knows how things would have turned out."
"Well, one thing is for sure. You wouldn't be so heart broken right now." He said.
"Yeah, that's probably true." I nodded.
"Is there ever a way you could forgive me?" He asked.
"I forgave you a long time ago." I admitted. "I was actually happy you did all of that, because it led me to be with Nik. And no matter what, I'd never want to change that."
"Even right now?"
"I don't want to change being with him. I want to change what he did." I replied.
"Did you ever want to change what I did?" Blaise asked.
"Every damn day we were together. And even after that, yeah. I just wanted you to love me." I shrugged slightly.
"I did." He said.
"Well, you sure had a funny way of showing it."
"I know...I'm stupid. Sorry."
"With all this apologizing you would think you were the guy I left today." I chuckled.
"Nope, just the guy you left seven years ago, wishing he had another chance." He said truthfully.
"If only wishes came true..." I trailed off.
Blaise smiled. "Yeah, if only."
We talked for maybe an hour before I started dozing off. I smoked two more cigarattes and as Blaise half carried me upstairs, I hoped I wouldn't have a craving for smoking in the morning. I hadn't smoked in six years, I should be fine.
"Hey Spencer?" Blaise asked when I was settled in bed, five seconds away from sleep.
"Hmm?" I asked drowsily.
"Don't avoid this. Talk to him, let him explain. Don't make the same mistake I did and let the one you love slip away." He said pushing the hair on my forehead aside and bending down and kissing my forehead.
As Blaise clicked off the light, my head drooped, and I fell into a deep sleep.
I was late to work the next morning. I had to wait until I was sure Nik was no longer home, before apparating there. It was empty when I got there, but the mess I had made the previous day was still there.
The boys were surpisingly silent when I got there. "Where were you last night?" Donovan asked.
"Excuse me? Shouldn't I be asking you that?" I asked confused.
"I'm not the one who walked out on my fianceč last night." He said.
"How do you know about that?" I asked.
"Nikolas showed up here this morning, looking a wreck, if I do say so, looking for you. Said he hadn't seen you since last night after you walked out on him. He didn't know where you were, he's worried." Scott said, his usual goofy smile absent.
"Good." I said.
"Good? What the hell Spencer?! Why did you do that?" Tyson asked.
I scoffed. "So he didn't tell you why I left?" I asked. They shook their heads. "Nik cheated and lied to me." I said. "Is that a good enough reason?"
I was struggling to hold it together, because the boys had never seen me cry, and I wanted to keep it like that.
"Oh, no. Spencer, why didn't you tell us?" Tom asked.
"You never really gave me the chance to." I shrugged. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have told them, unless I absolutely had to. I never wanted to appear weak in front of them.
"Well, what about last night? You were off wandering the streets by yourself. You should have came to our building." Tucker said.
"But, you guys were all at that party." I pointed out.
"No, we weren't." Greg said. "We decided to stay home last night. Thought we should listen to you every once in a while."
I smiled proudly at them. They had listened.
"So, where did you stay last night?" Vince asked.
"Pansy's." I answered. "Surprised Nik didn't look there first." I said.
"He thought it would be too easy to look there." Tom said.
"Oh." I said, blinking back tears.
"Spencer, it's okay to cry." Donovan said quietly.
"No, it's not." I sobbed. "I'm supposed to be strong."
"But you don't always have to be." He said standing up and wrapping me in a hug.
"I love him." I cried. "I really do. But I don't want him to hurt me again."
Tom hugged from behind. "We know you love him." He whispered. "And guess what? He loves you too."
"So, he fucked up, who doesn't? I'm sure he's not stupid enough to hurt you again." Greg said.
"You think?" I sniffled.
"We all do." Scott answered. "You need to speak to him, let him explain what happened. Don't throw away six years of love because of one stupid mistake."
Everyone kept telling me to do that, so it was worth a try.
"And that girl he slept with, I bet she was nowhere near as pretty as you are." Tucker said.
"She looks like a beaver." I laughed slightly.
"Spencer, if things don't end up working out, remember, I'm single." Vince winked.
"You can't hit on Spencer if she leaves Nik." Tyson said. "I was going to!"
"Hey, I called dibs a long time ago!" Tom protested.
"Look, none of you get to hit on Spencer." Donovan announced. "I'm Captain, so I get Spencer."
Arguing broke out between the boys."
"I saw her first!"
"We're soul mates!"
"I know how to fix this problem!" I shouted.
"How?" Greg asked.
"How about none of you get me?" I suggested.
"No!!" They yelled, and then proceeded with arguing.
After work, I couldn't make myself go home. I knew I couldn't keep avoiding this situation, but going home still seemed like too much.
Instead, I took a walk in my favorite park. I stopped at the place Nik had proposed and stood there.
"Spencer." I heard from behind me after a few minutes.
I turned around slowly, and there he was. "Nikolas." Tom had bed right, Nik did look like a wreck. I think he was wearing the same clothes from the day before, his hair was a mess, and he looked like he got absolutely no sleep last night.
"Can we talk about what happened?" He asked. "Will you let me explain?"
I paused for a moment. "Yes."
I took Nik's outstretched hand and let him lead me to a bench. We sat down but said nothing for a few moments. Nik held my hand so tightly as though he were afraid if he let go I would get up and walk away forever.
It reminded me of when he put us on a break all those years ago. The way I gripped his hand tightly, not ever wanting to let go.
"I'm sorry, Spencer." He said suddenly. "I'm so sorry I lied to you. I just never wanted to lose you, and now you're halfway gone and I don't know what to do."
"Why did you sleep with her?" I asked.
"This is going to sound stupid, but I was drunk." He answered. That didn't sound stupid. In fact, it made me feel better because at least he wasn't in the best state of mind when it happened.
"I was really upset after you didn't say you loved me back. I was acting reckless. To make me feel better, Hermione got us some firewhiskey. She kept pouring more and I kept drinking it. After awhile I wasn't aware of what I was doing. It was all a blur. She started kissing me. I didn't realize I was kissing her back. Before I knew what was happening, we were having sex."
"Was it good?" I asked.
"What?" Nik asked.
"The sex, did you enjoy it?" I asked again.
"Yes, because in that drunken state I thought I was making love to you." He answered. Good answer, I thought.
"And when I woke up the next morning and realized what I'd done, I panicked, Spence. I-I thought of telling you, but then I realized how hurt you would be and I thought for sure you wouldn't love me after that." He continued.
"So, why did you break up with me?" I asked.
"I needed to figure things out. Whether I was going to tell you or not. I knew if I stayed with you, you'd figure out soon enough that I was hiding something, and I couldn't risk that." Nik said squeezing my hand.
"So, why did you start dating her?" I asked quietly.
"Because I had lost you." He said.
"No you hadn't. I was coming to tell you I wanted to get back together when I caught you kissing her." I said.
"We weren't dating when you caught us kissing. She had kissed me out of nowhere, and I was so lonely, I gave into her. When you caught us, I knew for sure you were done after that. I decided I'd rather be with her than be lonely."
"I would have rather been lonely than be with anyone else." I said.
"I know, Spencer, but I'm much weaker than you are. You know that." Nik said.
"I'm not as strong as I seem. Sometimes I just pretend that I am." I admitted.
"You're the strongest person I know." He whispered.
"That's because you've never seen how weak I am without you." I sniffed.
He brushed the hair out of my face with his free hand and then kissed me. I closed my eyes tightly and kissed him back. I loved him so much, I just couldn't let him go. Yes he cheated, yes he lied. But I still trusted him.
I felt like I could live the rest of my life with him without wondering if everything he says is true. Love sometimes has to both forgive and forget, and that's what I was going to do.
"Please forgive me Spencer, I love you more than life itself." He whispered desperately.
"I do, Nik, I do. I love you too. I just want to spend the rest of my life with you." I said. "Forget all that stuff, it's in the past."
"I will never lie to you again. I swear." Nik said looking into my eyes.
"I'll never wreck our living room again, I swear." I smiled slightly.
"You did make quite a mess, babe." He smiled.
"Well, I was a little bit upset." I said.
"So, the wedding, it's back on, right?" Niks asked.
"It was never really off to begin with." I admitted.
"So, still five more weeks than huh?" He said.
"Yep." I said.
"A lot of time for you to change your mind." He stated.
"True, but a lot of time for me to forgive you and move on before we officially start our lives together also." I smiled.
He smiled back and reached into his pocket. It was my engagement ring. Last night I had taken it off and threw it on the ground. Apparently Nik found it.
He got down on one knee. "Spencer, will be my fianceč again?" He asked.
"Yes!" I said as he slid the ring on my finger where it belonged.
I kissed him. "I love you, Nik." I whispered.
"I love you too." He whispered back.
"You've tried on like fifteen dresses!" Pansy exclaimed as I stood in front of the mirrors in the bridal shop.
"I have not." I said. "And besides, I have to find my dress today. That's a must."
"Well, it's not that one." Ana said.
"Obviously." I said. "I would never wear something like this."
"You don't like it?" The owner, a thirty something year old blonde woman, asked.
"Not really." I said truthfully. "It's not me, you know?"
"Yes, okay, then, next one." She ushered me back into the changing room. The next dress wasn't excatly "me" either. Nor was the next one, or the one after that, or the one after that.
"Spencer, come on, the boys will be wondering about us." Leanne called.
"Just one more." I called back. I sighed as I pulled the dress on. I don't know why it was so hard for me to find a dress. It's like it wasn't meant to be or something.
I stepped out of the changing room and everyone just stared at me. "What?" I asked as I turned around to look in the mirror. The dress was...perfect.
It fit perfectly, if felt perfect, it looked perfect. Everything about it was utterly perfect. I smiled happily.
"Spence, I think you found your perfect dress." Pansy whispered.
"I think I did too."
A/N: So the next chapter will be the last one. You'll see if all goes well at the wedding or if things start to fall apart. And the chapter image will be of Spencer's gorgeous dress! Tell me what you thought!
I was awoken by my bed moving up and down. There were people jumping on it, squealing in excitement.
I turned over groaning. "Guys stop, I'm tired and I'm getting married today." The jumping stopped and I bolted up.
"I'm getting married today!!" I exclaimed. I jumped up and joined Pansy, Ana and Leanne in jumping and squealing.
"I can't believe I'm getting married!" I screamed.
"I know!" Ana yelled.
"We have four hours! We need to get you ready!" Leanne screamed pulling me off the bed. We started with my hair which would take the longest. Mum showed up soon enough.
"Oh Spencer, honey, I just can't believe it! My little girl is getting married. You're growing up so fast." She had me in a bone crushing hug.
"Mum I can't breathe!" I choked out.
"Oh I'm sorry honey." She released me. "Now what are we doing with her hair?" She asked my hair stylist.
"Curling it. That's what Spencer wants." Miranda answered.
Mum shook her head. "No I think waves would do better. Do waves." She said.
"No, Miranda, do curls like I said." I told her. "Mum, I want curls."
"But waves would suit you better." She said.
"Mum. I have been planning my wedding since I was fifteen and in my plans I had curls. So you can bet your arse that I'm having curls today on my wedding day." I said as calmly as possible.
She waved her hand. "Fine, fine no need to get upset. Miranda start on her hair. Leanne start doing her nails please. Pansy pick out her make up and Ana make sure her dress is fine." With all these directions she's giving you'd think she was the one getting married.
"What shoes are you wearing?" She asked.
"Converse of course." I answered, knowing she wouldn't be too happy about it.
"What?! Spencer, you are not wearing trainers on your wedding day." She said shaking her head.
"Yes I am. It's my wedding day and I want to wear Converse. Therefore I will wear Converse on my wedding day." I said in the same forced calm tone. It honestly wasn't that bug of a deal. My dress completely covered my feet, so no one would notice unless I lifted up my dress a bit.
Mum threw her hands up in the air in exasperation and walked out. I sat in the chair and let everyone work their magic on me.
I can't believe it. The day is finally here. I'm finally gonna marry Spencer. If she knew how long I've been waiting for this. I wanted to ask her to marry me the moment we were done at Hogwarts, but I thought I'd be moving way too fast if I did that. I kept putting off proposing until finally I couldn't take it anymore. I had to know she'd be mine for the rest of my life.
I was nervous as hell when I asked her and when she said no for that split second, my heart was crushed but immediately mended when she said yes.
And then when she practically called the wedding off I died inside. I screwed up really bad and it's my biggest regret. But all that's in the past and now it's our wedding day.
"You sure you're ready for this kind of commitment, son?" Dad asked as I got ready.
I sighed. "For the millionth time, yes Dad. I love Spencer more than anything in this world and all I want is to marry her, okay?"
"Okay." He answered quietly. I wish our families were more supportive of us getting married. Not that I care what they think about me and Spencer but it would be nice to know that they're happy for us.
As my dad exited the room, Draco entered. I still couldn't believe he was one of my best mates. We never got along in school and I didn't like the fact that he had slept with Spencer on multiple occasions. But now here he was, my Best Man.
"I can't believe you guys are actually getting married." He said studying his reflection. "Spencer never seemed like the marrying type."
"Who are you tellin?" I said. "Why do you think I took so long to ask her? I thought she would give me a flat out no."
"Well, you have always been the exception to everything with her, so I'm not too surprised, but still." He said straightening out his tie.
"You don't think Pansy wants to get married do you?" Draco asked suddenly. I shrugged.
"I honestly don't know. Though I can tell she really enjoyed helping Spencer with the wedding, so maybe."
"Hmm." He responded.
I continued to get ready. We arrived ar the church thirty minutes before the wedding was supposed to start. I was nervous as hell. My palms were sweaty and I was pacing back and forth.
"Nervous?" My brother asked.
"Yeah." I answered honestly. "I just love Spencer so much and I just can't wait to start my life with her. It's going to be amazing."
Thirty minutes turned into fifteen minutes. Fifteen minutes turned into five. I was even more nervous now. Everyone was getting in their places. I bent down and tied my black Converse really quick, wondering if Spencer would also wear Converse.
When I stood up, I saw Spencer's mother running around whispering frantically to Spencer's dad. It worried me. What if Spencer had run?
No, I reassured myself. Spencer said she was ready for this. She said that our wedding would start on time because she had no second thoughts, but what if now that the moment was here she did? What if she didn't want to do this anymore?
I stood at the alter, glancing down at my watch to see that there was two minutes left before the service was supposed to start. Here's hoping that it will start on time...
I was freaking out. "Something isn't right!" I cried out. But I didn't know what. I had my beautiful dress on, my hair was curled to perfection, my make up and nails were amazing, I was wearing Converse and yet still something wasn't right.
"Honey are you saying that you don't want to do this anymore?" Mum asked. "If you are don't be afraid to. We will support your decision."
I looked at her as though she was crazy. "I'm going through with this Mum! It's just that something is missing!" I exclaimed.
"Oh, Spence, your hair is a little messed up, we need to clip that back. Here borrow my clip." Leanne said putting the clip in nh hair and adjusting it. Suddenly things felt better.
Of course, something borrowed. I had my something old, Mum's old necklace, something new, new pair of shoes. And my something blue was my nails painted a beautiful light blue. I checked the clock. I had calmed down just in time.
"Let's do this." I said taking a deep breath.
There he was, standing in front of the alter, looking happy and nervous all at the same time. He looked so handsome in his tuxedo. I couldn't help but smile through the tears swimming in my eyes.
Dad and I finally reached the alter. He gave me a kiss on the cheek and gave me away to Nik.
"You look beautiful." Nik whispered.
I continued smiling. The minister started doing the talking. I was barely listening, because let's be honest, it was really boring. Finally we got to the vows. We had decided to write our own.
"Spencer." Nik started, squeezing my hands. "I have loved you from the first moment we kissed in that abandoned hallway all those years ago. You are my everything. My life, my love, my heart. Everything. If anything took you away from me I think I would die, because life without you isn't really life at all. It's just a dead cold place that I don't I want to live in, so don't ever leave me. I love you more than anything and I want to spend forever with you."
I quickly wiped my eyes before I started. "Nik, babe, I don't even know what to say. Words cant even describe how much I love you or how much you mean to me. You are more than my everything, you are a part of me. There's no way I can seperate myself from you because that would mean taking a piece of myself away. I need you more than anything. If I have you, I don't need anything else. I don't care where I am, where we go, what we do, as long as I'm with you. And I want to spend forever and a day with you."
I could see the tears in Nik's eyes. "If anyone has any reason that these two should not marry, speak now or forever hold your peace."
A few seconds went by. "I object!" Several voices called out. What the hell?!
I turned to see both mine and Nik's Mother's, Granger, and Steven standing up.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me!" I exclaimed.
"You two can't do this!" Nik's mum said. "Nikolas you're ruining your life, please just think about this."
"Mother, I have, I love Spencer, please sit down." He said trying to sound calm.
"You sit the fuck down too, Granger." I growled, ready to just attack her. She quickly sat down, as Weasley looked at her shocked and hurt.
"You two don't belong together." Steven said.
"No one asked you!" I said. "Sit down and stop ruining my damn wedding."
"Spencer, you don't swear in church." Mum said.
"You also don't yell 'object' at your daughter's wedding." I countered.
"I think you're making a mistake." She said.
"And I know I'm not. I can make my own decisions. Mum, I'm gonna marry Nik no matter what, so sit down before I have to kick you out." She sat down slowly, but Nik's mum was still standing.
"Mother, sit down." Nik said.
"I can't Nikolas. You don't really love this girl." She said.
"Yes, I do!" He exclaimed. "I love her so much that I got a matching tattoo with her!" He rolled up his and showed it to her. She gasped.
"And we've been having sex for five years and we share a room in our flat!" Nik exclaimed! "I fucking love her and I'm going to marry her!"
Everyone was silent and very slowly, his mum sat down, a shocked look on her face.
"Thank you!" I said. "Please continue." I told the minister.
"Nikolas, do you take Spencer Leigh Cassel to be your lawfully wedded wife?" The minister asked surprisingly calm and collected.
"I do." Nik said without any sort of hesitation.
"And Spencer, do you take Nikolas James Mewes to be your lawfully wedded husband?"
"I do." I said. We put eachother's rings on eachother.
"Now by the power vested in me, by me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride."
Nik leaned in and kissed me and everyone clapped.
"I present to you for the first time, Mr. and Mrs. Nikolas Mewes."
