Chapter 1: Prologue

The dark, secluded room was far from livable. The walls were covered with grime and filth, and the floors creaked so much, that with one sudden move and you could fall right through.

She wondered where they were at. They told her to wait, and that they would be right back.  She looked down at the baby girl in her hands, and wondered what she was doing there at this moment.  Why had she been chosen for this mission?  She didn’t want to do it.  She just wanted to be with him.

And explosion from the outside made her jump, and the baby started to cry.

“Shhh, little one” she said trying to comfort the baby.

Get out of this house, she thought to herself.  Those explosions were so close, if this building wasn’t protected, it would have definitely brought it down.  She darted up with the baby, and headed for the door of the room.  As soon as she got around the corner, something or someone grabbed her.  It surprised her, to where she went to swing her fist at it, when a man in a hooded garb grabbed her arm.  His face was not recognizable, but his voice was.

“We need to get you outside.” He said. “As soon as I open the door, I want you to Apparate to the little playground on the hill, then immediately head for the north east corner of the park.”

She looked confused.  He could tell, and grabbed her by her shoulders.

"Do you understand Emily?” he asked her.  She nodded, and the man went in and kissed her very passionately.  “I’ll be right behind you.”

He opened the door.  She knew that on the porch area, she would be safe, and then will disaparate when she takes steps down.  She could see the playground in the distance, and with one step, and a small pop, she was standing next to a set of swings.  She is trying to find her direction, and noticed two hooded individuals about 300 meters to her left.  Emily looked down at the house and noticed him appear from the doorway.

“What is he doing?” she said aloud.  What she didn’t realize is that he was distracting the death eaters, so she could get to safety.  She started to head to the individuals when a man grabbed her by the arm.  She turned, expecting him, but someone else had her.

“Hold it right there love” said the man.  “Where do you think you’re going?”

“I…err…well…um….” started to say things, but couldn’t get the words out. The man had a wand in his hand, and saw that she was carrying something.  He looked and noticed the baby.

“That’s what I thought.” He said to her.  “Avada Ka…….”

A loud pop and a red flash jolted the man before he could conjure the killing curse, knocking him down to the ground. One of the cloaked individuals in the corner of the park apparated and disarmed the attacker.   The cloaked man looked at her, with his wand still pointed at the attacker.

“Go”, he said. “I’ll take care of him.”

Emily nodded, and headed towards the other individual.  She turned to see the man say something, and a white light came out of the man’s wand, and the attacker looked as if he had gotten really stiff all of a sudden.

The cloaked man started following Emily, keeping look out behind him.  She came up to the other cloaked individual, who was waiting patiently.  Her rescuer immediately came up to her.

“We have little time” he said to her. “We have to say our goodbyes right now.”

“Where is he at?” she asked.  “He said he’d be right behind.

“I’m sure he’ll be here.” said the other individual.  This time the voice was that of a woman. “You know him and time.”

Emily didn’t want to laugh, but it sort of came. Then there was a pop. The other man was at the top of the hill area. He looked down at the frozen attacker, who was starting to move a bit.  And without hesitation, he walked up to the man, as a red flash came out of his wand, and continued walking without looking back.

“Emily,” said the cloaked woman grabbing the little girl from her hands. “Don’t be afraid. You are going to be a great mother.”

She kissed the little girl on the forehead, and handed her to the other cloaked man, who did the same.

“The port key is right here” said the woman.  She grabbed a mangy old boot, and placed it at her feet. “Remember, it won’t hurt.”

“But the ministry…” said Emily.  “Won’t they…”

“It has been taken care of” said the cloaked man, whose looking down at the baby. “We have a man on the inside, they don’t know about it.”

As soon as he handed the baby back to Emily, a loud explosion is heard towards the individual coming down the long hill.  Emily noticed the man, and yelled for him.  He was firing curses and spells back.

“GO….said the man coming down the hill. “ I’ll be right behind you!”

The cloaked man looked at Emily.  “You got to go.  BE SAFE!”

“No, I’m not leaving without him.” She said.

The woman grabbed her. “There’s no time. We’ll get him to you, I promise.”

Emily nodded, looked at the port key, and grabbed it.  With what seemed like a hook to her navel, she disappeared into the night sky.

The man at the top of the hill came closer to the two cloaked individuals.  His hood was still on, and he looked at the individuals.

“Is she gone?” he asked. “Is she safe?”

The cloaked man nodded to him.

“Are you sure you want to do this pal?” he said.

“She is better off without me right now” said the other man.

The woman cloaked grabbed them both.

“We need to go now” she said. “Dumbledore is waiting”

With a flash and a pop, the two cloaked individuals were gone. The other man stood looking at where the port key was, and then looked up at the sky.

“I love you Emily” he said. “That is why I can’t go with you.”

And then, as quickly as he showed up, he disappeared.

Chapter 2

Emily Smith was a single mother, who was well liked by her peers.  She lived in a very small and secluded community, with a beautiful house, and great job.  She loved what she did for a living, and being the principle of Illiopolis Junior High School in Illiopolis, IL, was a very responsible duty.  Kids behaving the way they do now days, it could be very hard for someone in that position, yet Emily did her job with respect to the kids and to the school.  The only issue that the community had with Emily was her 12 year old daughter Hailey.  Hailey Smith had been known as a trouble maker in this small community.  She would always cause trouble, and then not get punished for it, or at least not that much trouble.  Yet, in the scheme of things, Emily always came up with ways to let the community know, that Hailey was going through some changes in her life.

Hailey however, felt that the small community had it in for her.  Always complaining to her mother that Hailey did this, and something happened to this kid, who said Hailey had done it, even if she was there or not.  Hailey couldn’t explain why it is that things happen around her when she gets upset, but they usually do, and they usually end in someone else getting hurt.

As long as she could remember, things like that had always happened around her.  Just the other day, during recess, Hailey was talking to her close friend Ashlee, when the stuck up and preppy Peyton Tisdale came up to Ashlee and called her something.  Hailey was not happy about this at one bit, and under her breath, wished Peyton’s hair would catch on fire!

Moments later, you could hear a scream come from the corner that Peyton Tisdale just went around, and smoke bellowing.  When everyone looked around, you could see Peyton on the ground, with a teacher getting the flames out of her hair.  Everyone started whispering to each other, except for Hailey who was laughing at her.  That is until Peyton told the teacher that she had to have something to do with it, pointing right at Hailey.

Emily sat at her desk, looking at her daughter across from it.  It was no surprise to her when Mrs. Wheeler came into her office holding her daughter, and explaining what was going on.

“Mom,” Hailey said to Emily. “I didn’t do this.”

Emily wished it wasn’t true, but she knows it wasn’t.

“Hailey,” she said.  “Why is it, when something happens, you are always in the crosshairs?”

Emily actually knew why, but for now, she couldn’t explain it to her.  Not right now, anyways.

“Why is it, that you don’t believe me, when I say I didn’t do anything?” Hailey asked, almost sarcastically. “How could I catch Peyton Tisdale’s hair on fire, when I wasn’t even around her?”

“Well, according to Ashlee, she said something to you two, and walked off around the corner” said Emily to her daughter. “Did you think about doing something to her? Even doing something that you wouldn’t really do, but perhaps wished you could do?”

Hailey looked at her mom.  She knows something and isn’t telling her. Hailey shook her head, and denied it.  But her mom knew better.  She knows when Hailey is telling her a fib.

“Well, I’ll forgo the detention” she said to Hailey.  Hailey’s face lit up as if a pain was lifted off her chest. “However, you will be grounded for a week for lying to me.”

“WHAT!” said Hailey very loudly.  Emily jumped out of her seat knowing that the offices next to her heard that, if not the entire school.

“MOM!” she said to Emily.

“No, Hailey, this is for your own good” said Emily.  “You need to learn to control your anger issues.  “Now, as your principle, I am not going to discipline you here at school.  But as your mother, I have to put my foot down. Is that understood young lady?”

It was the way her mom talked, that intrigued Hailey.  Not her accent, but how she presented herself.   Hailey knew somehow that what happened to Peyton was mysterious, and moments before she did wish it.  However, she just wished her mother would tell her what was going on.

Little did she and Emily know, but that time was about to happen, just mere hour’s away.

@@@

Emily and Hailey’s house was just blocks away from the school, so during this time, walking was the only way to go.  Emily made Hailey wait until she was ready to leave her office, and they usually walked home together.  Sometimes, those walks would be good.  Other’s, like today’s walk, Emily knew that Hailey wouldn’t be willing to talk.

As they walk up to their house, Emily noticed a weird dressed individual at the door.  It looked like he was talking to someone, but when they got up to the door, he was talking to the doorbell.

“May I help you?” said Emily to the man.  As he turned around, her mouth dropped open.

“Oh sir, you surprised me” she said to the man.  Hailey looked at him and thought of him to be pretty odd looking.  He seemed very old, yet he had some life in him.  His long grey beard was groomed well to his stomach, and there seemed to be a gleem in his eyes, as they peered over the moon shaped glasses.

“Uh…Hailey, since your grounded, its straight to your room and do your homework” said Emily.  She looked at her daughter, with a kind of weird look on her face. Hailey just huffed and stomped upstairs, until there was a loud slam of a door.

“Sorry sir” said Emily.  “Please come in”

@@@@@

Hailey sat on her bed looking out at the window.  Why did she always get into trouble, when it wasn’t her fault?  Why is it that all these things happen?  Why is it… As soon as Hailey was about the think about that question, something really odd flew by her window.  Hailey shot straight up, and got off her bed.  She started to walk slowly over to her window, thinking that she imagined it.  She crept slowly and slowly when as soon as she got to the open window, a large brown owl landed on the sill.  Hailey jumped back a bit to her surprise.  But she wasn’t scared of it.  It looked as if it was happy to be there, and Hailey decided to see if she could pet it.

Hailey reached for the bird, hoping it didn’t fly in and start pecking her eyes out.  She just watched “The Birds” last week with Ashlee, and couldn’t sleep for days.  This isn’t going to help her tonight, not that she was going to get much sleep anyways.  As she got closer and closer, it looked as if the bird was going to let her touch him.  She was mere inches away, when a loud knock came at her door, making Hailey jump, and the bird flying off!

“WHAT!” she yelled.

“Hailey” Emily’s voice came through the door. “Can I come in?”

“NO!” she said to her mother.  “I’m still mad at you!”

“Yeah, I know but” her mother started to say.

“But what?” asked Hailey. “You ground me for something I didn’t do, and you expect me to be ok with that?”

“We have a guest, who wants to meet you” said Emily very quietly.  It means a lot to me, and after that, we can talk about the grounding.”

Hailey could see through that.  That usually means that if Hailey does some chores and talks to her mom about things, her punishment will end, and she’ll get a free pass as usual.  As much as Hailey wanted this extra chores wasn’t what she wanted to do to get it.  However, the incident with the owl, she had to tell someone.

Hailey opened the door, and her mother stood there with very patiently.  On the way down, Hailey wanted to tell her mom about the owl, but was still upset with her.  As soon as she got to the end of the stairs, there stood that weird looking old man, and on his shoulder, the big brown owl.

“Hey, is that your owl” asked Hailey.

“Well, not really.  Honestly, he belongs to someone else” said the old man.  “Why do you ask?”

Hailey began to tell them of her encounter upstairs with the owl.

“Oh Horace is know to do that from time to time” said the man.  “He is always trying to find his owner.”

“May I pet him?”  Hailey asked.

“Well of course you can my dear” said the old man.  “He is after all, yours.”

Hailey had that look of confusion on her face, as she looked at the old man.  What did he mean the bird was hers?  She never had a owl before.  She looked at her mom, with the same look on her face.

“Perhaps we should go sit down Hailey” said Emily.  “We have a lot to talk about.”

Emily, Hailey and the old man walked into their living room, and sat on the chair and couch that was there.  Horace, the owl, flew of the man’s shoulder and perched himself on top of the fireplace mantle.

Emily stood up, and looked at Hailey.  Hailey could tell something was bothering her, and grabbed her mom’s hand for comfort.

“Hailey” Emily began. “For 12 years now, I have loved you as much as any mother could love a child.

Hailey couldn’t understand what her mother was talking about.  She knew her mom loved her, no matter how many times they fought with each other.

“I know that mom” she said.

“But all of this” she said, waving her arms around as if pointing to everything in the room.” All of this is a lie.”

Emily took a deep breath.  “I am not…” she tried to say as she started to cry. “I am not your real mother, Hailey.”

Hailey sat there in awe, with her arm still holding her mother’s. She let go and fell back into the chair, and Emily, with tears running down her face, got on her knees, and placed her hands on Hailey’s knees.

“I’ve been protecting you from a fate that should not have been yours” she said “for eleven years now.”

Emily tried to look Hailey in the face, but her head was lowered, and you could see that her eyes were welling up, as tears ran down her face.

“Your parents were great friends of mine.” She started to say.  “And because of their bravery and love, they were killed by an evil man days after I had brought you here.”

Hailey went to say something, but Emily had cut her off.

“There’s more sweetheart.” She said.  “Please understand that I love you, and no matter what anyone says, you are my daughter.  But there is more that I have to tell you, and you’re not going to understand.”

“You and I are not like normal people.” She said to Hailey. “These occurrences that you have had, hasn’t been on accident.”

“What do you mean occurrences?” asked Hailey, with tears still in her eyes.

“Like today” said Emily. “With that girl’s hair catching on fire. That was you, because you are and have always been a witch.”

“A what?” Hailey asked.

“You are a witch, and I was ordered to protect you.” Emily said.

“By whom?” asked Hailey.

With expecting her mother to answer, the old man sitting in the chair across from her began to speak.

“By me, my dear” said the old man

Hailey stood up and looked at him.  The tears are gone, and anger ran across her face.  You could feel the house start to shake as she looked at the old man.

“WHO ARE YOU TO KEEP ME AWAY FROM MY REAL FAMILY. WHO ARE YOU TO KEEP ME FROM KNOWING WHO I REALLY AM?” she yelled at him.  As she started to calm down, the house stopped shaking.

The man looked at her.  He had noticed something in her that he did not notice before.  It puzzled him, and according to some, that’s a hard thing to do.  He got up from the chair, and went to her.  He placed his hands on her shoulders, and somehow, to Hailey it felt comforting.

“I promised your parents, that if anything would have happened to them, to keep you safe from harm. I assure them that you would be safe.  Before that could happen, there was an attack, and we had to get you to safety.” He said to her.

“Your mother and father loved you” he said.  “And because of that love, I did what I was asked by them, for you and your brother.”

“My brother?” Hailey asked. “ I have a brother?”

She looked at Emily.

“Did you know about this?” she asked.

Emily nodded but looking confused.  She looked at the man.  “He is alive?”

“Yes.” Said the man.

Through all the confusion, Emily didn’t know who she was talking to.

“Sir…” she said. “What is my name, and what is your name?”

The man looked at her with a twinkle in his eye, and a smile on his face.

“My dear, your name is Hailey…Hailey Potter” he said. “And my name is Albus…Albus Dumbledor.”

Chapter 3: The Truth
[View Online]  [Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]

It had been five long years since that day.  Hailey, who will turn 18 in a few months, still lives with her adopted mother Emily.  But staying in that small community, well it wasn’t the best thing to do.  Dumbledore arranged for them to move to an area in America that was full of their kind.  He even got Hailey into The Salem Academy of Witches, an all witch school located in Salem, Massachusetts, which is better known as the home of the Salem Witch trials.

Learning that she was a witch was hard, but actually using spells and incantations were a lot harder than just pointing a wand and yelling Abracadabra.  Now she knew why it was that her mother was so upset when things happened around her.  But she didn't know how to control them like she does now.

It took Hailey awhile to get over being upset with her mom from keeping the truth from her, but she was only doing what she thought was right.  To protect her from this man named "Voldemort".  Back then, Hailey was just a mere child. But she is now all grown up.

She has become the most popular witch in the school.  Everyone wants to be friends with her, or even just near her.  And don't get Emily started on all the guys calling their house.
Emily felt as if she wasn't prepared enough to explain certain things to Hailey, even though Hailey was very bright.

At her school, normally girls start going there when they are 12.  But Hailey had to do two semesters of summer school just to get caught back up.

This was the first summer she had off, and she wanted to make the best of it.  The last day of school and she had passed with high honors.  Had Hailey been aware of her special gift, she would have graduated by now.  But seeing that she was almost done, what was another year.

While walking home, as she always does, she noticed her mother's car in the driveway.  Now normally, this wouldn't be strange, but since her mom doesn't get home until a few hours before she did, it didn't seem right.

She thought to herself that perhaps her mom just wasn't feeling good and took the day off, or just wanted to see her daughter come home on the last day of the school year.  But when she walked in the house, she knew something wasn't right.

"WHY DIDN'T ANYONE TELL ME?" she screamed! "HE WAS ALIVE, AND NO ONE TOLD ME! AND NOW HE'S DEAD!"

Hailey ran into the living room, and to her surprise, a green flame was shooting out of her fireplace, and her mom's head in it.

"WHAT IN THE HELL IS GOING ON MINERVA?" SHE ASKED. "WHERE IS DUMBLEDORE?  I WANT TO SPEAK TO ALBUS!"

Just then, after a few seconds, her mother collapsed, and Hailey could see a face of an older woman appear through the flame.

"Emily?" said the head.  Then she got a glimpse of Hailey.  "My dear, just don't sit there, help your mother up."

And without hesitating, Hailey did as the face asked. Emily passed out, and it took all of Hailey’s strength to get her up on the couch.  When she came too, she barely noticed Hailey.

"Are you alright Emily?" the face in the falme said.  Emily still had a horrid look on her face.

"Yes..." she said to the face. "What do you need for me to do, Headmistress?"

The face in the fireplace looked sadden as well.  She wanted to tell Emily her everything, but knew that she couldn't, just yet.

"I need you and Hailey to come to England." said the face. "Grimmuald Place, you know it right?"

Emily gasped for a second but got back to her composure. "Yes." she said.

The face smiled with acceptance.  "Ok, I will owl you everything you need ok." said the face.
Emily nodded in understanding, and the green flame shot back into the fireplace, where it disappeared.

Emily sat back down on the couch looking straight forward, not realizing she sat right back down next to Hailey.  The shock and tears in her eyes could tell a whole story, if Hailey knew it.  She looked at her mom, who was still staring off into space.

"Mom?" said Hailey.  The voice almost made Emily jump. "Dear god child, don't scare me like that."

 Hailey looked very confused.

"Mom," she said with a look of concern. "Who was that...that...that thing?"  Emily didn't realize that she saw the floo connection.  It took a bit of persuasion, but she finally got Hailey to understand some other magic traits that she was unaware of.

"So that lady was from your old school?" Hailey asked.  "Hogwarts?"
Emily nodded, and tried to explain something’s, but didn't want to go into detail.

"What did they want?" she asked.

Emily knew it wasn't going to be easy.  Since Albus was very wearing on her telling Hailey the whole truth about her family, she didn't know how she would react to this news.  It took her nearly four months to get over the last time she got upset.

“Is this about Harry?” she asked. “Is he…dead?”

Emily grabbed her, and hugged her with all her might.

“No, he’s not” she said to Hailey. “But Albus Dumbledore is.”

Hailey just stood there in complete and utter shock.  Emily waited a few hours to check on Hailey  She walked into her daughter’s room, and saw her lying on the bed asleep.  Emily goes to close the door gently when Hailey spoke?

"Who's dead?" she asked.

Emily looked at her.

“I told you hun,” she said “Albus.”

“No, who else.  You said He’s Alive and now dead.” She said to her mother. “You asked for Dumbledore after that.  Please be honest with me mom.”

 Emily looked up and walked to the side of her daughter’s bed.

"He was a man I loved very much." she said.  "He was your godfather."

Emily stopped Hailey from speaking really quick.  Emily continued.  "His name was Sirius," she said. " And he was my husband."

~~~~~~~~~~~
The battle of Hogwarts was over.  Lord Voldemort was vanquished by the unlikeliest of wizards in Harry Potter.  But for Harry, he knew that he had to keep those around him safe.  That is why he went to the forest alone.  That is why he sacrificed himself.  But for that connection to him and Voldemort, he did not die.
In the end, he defeated Voldemort with the Elders wand, and the wizarding world was saved.  But it was not good enough, as many still died. Fred, Tonks, Lupin, even those he did not know.  Those who stood up against the dark lord, and those whose lives are on his conscience.
But there stood the young woman who hours earlier thought that he was dead.  Her scream of disbelief was deafened by the noise of all around.  Lying at the foot of her dead brother Fred, Harry could see the pain in Ginny’s face.  He was exhausted.  He could barely move, but knew he had to somehow get out of Great Hall.  He left under the invisibility cloak, and didn't realize that Hermione and Ron had saw him, and followed him as much as they could.
Harry walked into the Gryffindor common room, and headed to his dorm.  There he took off the cloak, and landed on what was his bed.  He fell into a deep sleep, and finally did not dream.  The next few weeks were very hard on Harry.  He had been to all the funerals of those who died, and it still affected him a lot, because of him, they were dead.
But one thing that happened throughout all of this, the one person who he loved the most, was there by his side.  The hardest thing was telling her everything.  He knew he'd have to tell Kingsley.  After the start of rebuilding Hogwarts, there were weeks where they would make the trip back to Grimmuald Place.
He was finally sleeping well.  Like his first year at Hogwarts.  Though his scar didn’t hurt anymore, he started to hear something in his sleep.  A voice that seemed to buried deep within his mind.  "Harry..." said the voice with a long flowing word. "Harry....." it said again.  This time it was even longer.  Then a different voice called to him.
"Harry..." said a voice next to him.  "Harry?"
Ginny Weasley sat next to him on his bed. Harry looked at her.
"What is it?" she asked.  "The battle?"
Strangely enough, it wasn't.  But he did know who the voice was.
"No..." he mumbled. "I think it was Sirius."
He hadn't dreamed of Sirius in a very long time. "Come..." said Ginny.  "Let's get some sleep."
He looked at her.
 "In a hurry?" he asked her.
She was laying there in his bed.  They had been sneaking in and out of the other's rooms for the last few nights, and so far Mrs. Weasley hadn't noticed.
Ginny smiled at him. "As a matter of fact, I am." she said. "Because I don't know about you, but I do not want my mother catching the two of us in here, laying half naked on the bed." She continues. "Besides, I have to get Ron in here from mine and Hermione's room."
"Well, I guess we have a few minutes to lay here." he said with a smile.
"Lay or snog?" asked Ginny.
Harry smiled and murmured something before he kissed her passionately.
The next thing Harry remembered, Ron was sleeping in his bed, and Ginny was long gone.  After cleaning his self up a bit, and headed downstairs to the kitchen.  From the smell, Harry knew Mrs. Weasley was already up.
As he got in there, to his surprise, Kingsley and McGonagall were at the table. As soon as they noticed him, things got quiet.  Harry knew this quietness, and knew they were doing order business.
He wished they would have learned that they didn't  have to act like he didn't matter to the order.
"Ah...Harry," said Mrs. Weasley. "Care for some breakfast?"
Harry nodded and sat next to Mr. Weasley looking at the Daily Prophet.
"More rubbish about the battle in here Kingsley." he said.  "When is it all going to end?"
"I'm doing everything I can" Kingsley said. "It's going to take the ministry some time to clear up all this mess."
Harry had almost forgotten.  Kingsley was named Minister of Magic after the battle.  The wizarding world wanted someone who could make things better.  To stop things like this from ever happening again.
"Congratulations is in order for you Harry," said Kingsley. "For you as well as Ron and Hermione."
"What for?" asked Harry.
"Well, we have decided to give you three the Order of Merlin, First Class for your defeat in Voldemort." he said. "Everyone else at the battle will receive a Third Class award."
Harry was astounded, but simply declined. "I could not accept, without everyone else who was there." Harry said. "Even those who had...."
Just then he looked at Molly and could see that she was almost ready to cry.  He decided to stop and looked at Kingsley.
"Don't worry Mr. Potter," Kingsley interrupted. "Everyone who was there defending Hogwarts from Voldemort and his followers will receive some recognition.  EVERYONE!"
He emphasized the everyone, which Harry understood meant even those who had died for the cause.
A few moments later, Kingsley got up and said his goodbyes, and walked to the door, asking Arthur to come with him.
"I guess it's my time to go as well," said McGonagall. "Harry, would you mind coming with me for a second?
Harry nodded, and looked at Mrs. Weasley, who was still cooking breakfast, and still had tears in her yes.
As they got to the door, she handed him a piece of parchment. "Professor Dumbledore had asked me to give this to you in case something had happened to him." she said. "Since you did not come to Hogwarts last year, this is the only time I had to give it to you."
Harry looked confused. "Alright professor..." he said.  "But..."
She cut him off. "Don't worry Harry.  Things will be explained in this letter." she said. "Now, because you and Ron and Hermione had chosen jobs after Hogwarts that requires you to finish school, you three will be receiving letters from Hogwarts for school next year."
She looked at him, smiled and said Good day to him as she stepped out of the doorway, and with a crack dissipated into thin air.
Harry looked, at the letter, and went to the sitting room, and laid on the couch, as he opened it and began to read.
Dearest Harry,
If you are reading this letter, it means that I am dead, and you have done something that you have done only once before.  Defeat the dark lord Voldemort.
Tom was a very powerful wizard, but you my boy, are brave, courageous, and full of love, something Tom never was.  That is the difference between the two of you. Never forget that.
This letter was given to you because now that the rebuilding can begin, the whole truth needs to be put out in the open.
I have put you in many difficult situations in which I could not help you in the fullest.  I have also kept you in the dark in some of the most important things in your life.  And I must regrettable tell you the last of my secrets.
When you were born, I promised your mother and father, that I would make sure nothing ever happened to you, if something ever happened to them.
This letter was made just after the incident in the ministry of magic.  Fudge had called me into his office when the lot of you left back to Hogwarts.
I had explained to Cornelius Fudge what was going on.  Everything, which including that of Sirius and Peter Pettigrew’s incident.  While you were in the infirmary, I had extracted your memory of the shrieking shack.
Once I had shown that memory to Fudge, he had secretly pardoned Sirius.  Since his death, no one knew of this. And that was the last act Fudge made as Minister.  He resigned the next day.
That got me thinking of the Veil.  I had to see it.  All those souls that had been lost was so overwhelming.  I could not believe that you had your family, and yet you had just lost the only father figure you had.
I felt that it wasn't fair, and I wanted to make things right.  I kept going back there during the summer.  It was an addiction.  I started asking questions.
Many of my friends and acquaintances had different answers about the veil and after further investigation, I thought about it, and I figured a way to possible save Sirius.
As my health decreased, and not just from Tom's ring, my chance to help Sirius decreased even more.  You are his only hope.
Which brings me to my secret of all secrets, and it  could be the hardest thing for you to date.
When your parents went into hiding, and then knew they may not survive.  Sirius knew as well.  As a matter of fact, Sirius confined in me something that he never told your parents.
Sirius was and is still to this day a married man.  His wife was removed from the area for protection against the dark lord.  She was the only one who proclaimed his innocence from day one, until you and Ms. Granger came to me and told me what had happened at the Shrieking Shack.  She is technically your godmother. This means she is family. Her name is Emily Black.
But that's not everything.  You see, when she was at Hogwarts, Emily almost died, and Sirius saved her.  His blood saved her, just like your blood helped Voldemort live.  Not that I am going into great detail, but that is how they fell in love and became married. The veil works as a bond.  A soul needs a drop of blood from its original body, in order to free him.  A simple drop of blood could save your godfather Harry. I have instructed Minerva to make the arrangements to get into the ministry so this could happen.  And I am hoping that once you read this that she, Sirius' wife Emily, will be on her way to England.
But here is the hard part Harry.  Emily wasn't alone when she went into hiding.  In her possession was a little girl who brought up at the age of one to the most recently of 17.  The same age as you Harry. Her job was to care for the girl, until we could make sure that it was safe for her return.  And though no one knew of this little girl, she was in for the same fate as you were. She was very shocked when I showed up on her front porch, and only until then, she did not know who she truly was.  She grew up as Hailey Smith.  Her real name is Hailey Potter.  She is your twin sister.
You sister is alive and well, and if things are going as I want, she will be coming here to England to re-unite with you. I know this is a lot to process Harry, and I know that you will have it in your heart to accept this, and to accept your sister into your life.  She has not known of the horrors that you have encountered.  I do know that the last time I met her; she was getting ready to start at a witch school in the states.
Please take this news as good, and with luck, you can have that family you have yearned for all your life.  I wish I could have been there, and I am very honored to call you my friend.
Best Wishes,
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore
Harry stood there in total shock.  He had to read it a few more times to get the facts straight.  As he read it the last time, Ginny comes walking into the sitting room..
He looked at her with tears down his face.  She went to him and sat next to him.
"What is it?" she asked. He looked at her, his eyes red and filled with tears.
"I have a sister." he said looking into her eyes.
Chapter 4: The Homecoming
[View Online]  [Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]
Author’s note – This is not my creation, but that of J.K. Rowling.  I think after this chapter, there will be a lot of questions.  It is a very short chapter, so enjoy.
The darkness that was once the high of his life, now has disappeared from the face of Luscious Malfoy.  He is indeed now grateful that his family is safe.  Those months of torture by the dark lord had taken its toll on Luscious, but his family is safe, and once in his life, he seems happy.  No longer does he have to hide from fear, nor does he have an obligation to hide from what he was.  He was a death eater.  At one time, a proud thing, now just the talk of it could put you in Azkaban.  Luscious didn't want to go back.
That place was a hell all in its own.  Thanks to his wife, Luscious is not in jail.  He was saved, because she saves the boy who he was taught to hate the most.  She saved Harry Potter from the forest, lying to Lord Voldemort that Potter was dead, when in fact he was faking the whole time.
It still runs through his mind all the time.  How could a mere boy, who was just in school, defeat the world’s greatest wizard?  That fact alone still boggles his mind.  The ministry seemed to be lenient on Luscious, with the testimony he made.  He did not participate in the battle, and there for, with the testimony, he had immunity.  He had his old job back, and did it quite well.
His attitude had changed, and everyone could see it, even those who are in the order.  They knew he went through a lot, and they had pity on him.  As day goes by, his reputation as a Death Eater was slowly diminishing.  His reputation as a Pure Blood is as well.  He knew that he owed the wizarding world a lot of gratitude, none other than Harry Potter.
Draco thought for sure, that he'd end up expelled and thrown into Azkaban.  He was shocked when an owl came by and dropped off his Hogwarts Letter.  His mother and father seemed proud. However, Crabbe is dead and Goyle....well who knows if he's going.  He hasn't had an owl back from him so far this summer.
With his father in prison, and the roles the played in the battle, he thought that he would be the only Slytherin there.  He had his chance to show everyone what he could have been, only to be shunned by the person known to him as scar-head.  And though that hatred had been boiling to a maximum, he knew himself, that his and Harry’s rivalry was over with.
~~~~~~~~~~

"You want me to do WHAT?” said a screaming voice to Emily. "There is no way in..."  Her first reaction was to look at her mother before she finished that sentence.

Emily looked at her daughter with a look of excuse me, but then played it off.  "All you have to do is get in the fireplace, throw the Floo Powder and say the word Grimmuald Place.  Just enunciate, and you'll be fine!  I promise."

Emily knew all too well that it wasn't going to be fun, but spending money to take a plane and traveling for 10 hours, especially with a witch would be frightening.  Emily hadn't traveled by Floo in a long time, but remembers it vividly.  But if she could be with Sirius again, then by all means, they were going to London.

After numerous times to tell Hailey to do it, she finally had to threaten her with grounding.  As all teenage girls do, then see right through the bluff most times, but decide it's better to not irritate their parents anymore than she had too.  Finally, Hailey had to courage to do it.  "Grimmuald Place", she said very clear.  And with a green flash, she comes walking out of the fireplace, to a place that she had never been before.  Then the green fire flared up and Emily comes walking out.

"See," she said.  "No problem."

Hailey would have to agree until she see's her clothes!  "THESE WERE MY FAVORITE SHOES!"  And with that loud sound, many people come walking into the room they are at.

"Emily?" said a voice that Hailey recognizes as the old woman she saw in the fire at home.  "Minerva", said Emily. "It's been such a long time."

"Too long, my dear.", said McGonagall. "And this must be Hailey.  It is such a pleasure to meet you."

Hailey kind of gave a small curtsy, but straightened up and reached her hand out and gave McGonagall a hand shake.

"You're things just arrived before you did, and they are in your rooms.", she said.

Emily nodded, as an unknown man comes up.  Hailey's mother starts to tear up, as the red haired man looked at her.  Arthur Weasley looked at the woman, as tears flowed through her eyes.  The man stretched out her arms, and all Hailey heard from her mom was “Daddy”!

~~~~~
Author note - Ok, so Emily is a Weasley.  I had issues with one reader before I went on the re-write this story, who stated that “I find it disturbing that this character is a Weasley, etc… and that Harry’s god mother in some sort is the single mother of his twin sister, which by the way he’s dating his sister’s mother’s sister.”  Trust me, it was a mouthful for me when I read the review.  So in a sense, she’s not a real Weasley, but don’t let Arthur and Molly hear you say that, or you’ll be cursed for sure! Hope you enjoyed this small chapter, and I will have more.  Also, I know that Arthur and Molly are a few years older than Harry’s parents, etc… In this point of view, they are at least 16 years older, just so this could easily make more sense.  Thank you and please review if you haven’t yet.
Chapter 5: Memory Lane
[View Online]  [Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]
Note --- In my haste to add my already written chapters, I forgot to add this one.  Sorry guys
As long as she could remember, Emily had a major crush on Sirius Black. He was in his 2nd year when she met him, for she was just a year behind. They both were in Gryffindor, and as long as she could remember, she had been told, that every single Weasley was in Gryffindor. When she was sorted, it was a relief off her chest. Her brother Bill was just sorted into Gryffindor as well. Sirius however, was a Black, and Blacks were always in Slytherin, all except Sirius. He was different. An outcast.
He never went home to Grimmuald Place after going to Hogwarts, and for that he was ousted off his family tree. From then on, he lived with James Potter. Now there was a man, though if Emily ever said that, James would get a punch in the face.
Emily didn't know what it was about him, but she had fallen in love with him at first sight, even though it took Sirius longer to see it. And even when James would bring up girls, he would make a smart ass remark.
“Really? I'm not ready for girls yet. We having too much fun right now!" he would say. He could say the stupidest things, but Emily didn't care.
She remembers that day that he saved her life. Not by catching her from falling or mumbo jumbo hero things but being himself. It was in her fourth year, and Emily was out in the forest, when all of a sudden she bumped into nothingness, then the next minute, she was lying on the ground, being trampled. She didn't know what had happened, and she was in the forest screaming for help, but no one could hear her.
After numerous hours of searching, James, Sirius, a plump boy by the name of Peter Pettigrew and this skinny boy named Remus Lupin. They were all the same. She had lost a lot of blood, and at that time, there was no way to replenish it. Luckily a 5th year's parents were surgeons, and got her stable. However, they needed something called a transfusion, and after testing her blood type, no one in her family or at Hogwarts was a match. Not one, except Sirius Black.
He did not hesitate to volunteer, and within a few weeks, Emily was as new as could be. Sirius always teased her about how she is mixed like him. Mixed like a dog. Something she didn't get until after they were married.
"So Weasley," he would say to her. "Looks like you still have your fiery red hair today. I'm sure it's going to turn dark black soon. Mark my words Weasley; you're going to end up a Black!"
But Sirius was only like that around his friends. But Sirius had his kept secret side from James and the rest of the Marauders. Their nickname they got by a Slytherin boy they always tormented, Severus Snape. But she was unaware of what they were actually doing every month or so. Sometimes her and Sirius would go out and walk around the grounds at night, trying to keep from getting caught.  One night he took her to where she had her accident. She noticed animals, horse like creatures, with black wings.
“What are they?" asked Emily.
“Thestralls", said Sirius. "They were the reason why you had your accident."
"Wh...wh...", she said trying to find the word.
"The reason you couldn't see them before, was because you hadn't had a near death experience, or nothing tragic has happened in your life.", he said to her. "Not until that night."
She had tears in her eyes. That night, she knew that Sirius Black was her soul mate. They snogged for what seemed like an eternity, that is until James came walking up on them."
"Well, well, well...what do we have here?", he said. "Are you going soft on me Padfoot?"
"In your dreams Prongs.", said Sirius. "What's up?"
"Uh, well it's late, and I'm sure that Ms. Weasley here needs to get some sleep. And as for me being a prefect, and you two up out of bed, it could cause a whole heap of a mess.", said James, just as snooty as he always is.
Emily got up, and looked him straight in the eyes. "James, your such a prat!", she said. "Perhaps you should take a lesson from Sirius and finally go talk to Lily."
"Whoa....." asked Sirius. "Lily? As in Lily Evans?”
No, you’re being delusional,' he said. "Just like Weasley here. My dear madam, I have no idea what you’re talking about."
"Oh please, every girl knows when a man looks at them," she said. "and you Mr. Potter have eyes for Lily Evans. All the girls know it."
"All of them?" he asked.
"Every last one, down to the first years!" she said sarcastically.
"Bloody hell!" James said with his face beet red.
"You devil, you", said Sirius. "Hey Lily is a great woman. Just don't screw it up."
“Yeah, like it would happen." James said. "I'll tell you what Sirius, if and that is a big if, if something happens between me and Lils."
"Lils.", said Sirius.
"Shut up!", said James. "If something does happen, then I'll make you the godfather of my first unborn."
"I already have dibs on that", he said.” I’ll have to kill you if you make Wormtail a godfather before me!"
"OK, deal then?" James asked.
"Deal!" said Sirius, with a smile on his face.
Emily started stirring in her bed.  She’s been dreaming of Sirius and that night, ever since McGonnigal told her about Sirius and Dumbledore’s death. It had been a long day for her and Hailey and the two of them met with a few people, and Molly suggested that they get some sleep before dinner.
She reached for a light source and clicked on the lamp next to the bed she was sleeping on. She slowly sat up, and noticed a desk in the corner of the room.  As she got up, she tried to not make any noise, for Hailey was sleeping next to her.  She slowly got up, and went to the desk.  There was something upside down on the desk, with a big tear on the corner.  As she picked it up, she turned it over, and her past came into view again.  There in her hand, was a torn picture of a baby flying on a broom stick. She sat in the chair, and looked at it as what seemed like hours.  Tears ran down her eyes, as the picture had Lily, James, baby Harry, and her beloved Sirius.  She put her finger on his face, until she heard a voice.
“That's me on the broom."  She turned around startled, but looked right into the spitting image of her friend James Potter.
"I know," she said to Harry, who seemed to be sitting in the other corner of the room, on a large chair.  "I use to change your diapers. How long have you been there?”
“An hour, I think” he said to her.  “Sorry.”
“You do not need to be sorry for anything Harry” she said to him.  “It amazes me how much you look like James.  I’m sure you get that a lot, but there is one thing that makes you different.”
“I have my mother’s eyes” he said to her.  “I know. Everyone tells me that. Remus kept remi….”
“Remus Lupin?” she asked.  “How is old Moony?”
Harry lowered his head, and Emily knew that didn’t mean well.
“I’m sorry Harry” she began to say.  “I have spent so much time….I mean….it’s so unfair….”
She couldn't find the right words. Harry looked at her, knowing what she wanted to say. He went over to her and immediately gave her the biggest hug. He hadn’t done that since he came to Grimmuald Place the first time, and saw Sirius after breaking him out of Hogwarts tower. He sat next to her after the hug, and looked at the picture. He picked it up. In the picture, there was his mum, dad, and Sirius, laughing. He has looked at this picture a million times since hearing he had a sister.  He looks at the sleeping Hailey.  The sadness in his eyes can tell a very long story.
"How could they keep her quiet?" he said. "How did...."
“You want to know how Dumbledore kept everyone quiet about Hailey and me?” she said looking at her adopted daughter. Harry nodded.
“Dumbledore made sure that the memories of your sister be quiet.” She said.  “After they were marked for death, and went into hiding, Dumbledore came up to me.  He said he had a mission for me.”
“You were part of the order?” Harry asked.  Emily nodded.
“Voldemort and his followers were so powerful” she said.  “They were killing people every day.  Making a long story short, he wanted me to take Hailey far away from here.  Just until things calmed down.  Little did I know that it would take 14 years for him to come to where me and Hailey were staying.”
She continued. "Anyways, Dumbledore gave me Hailey, while your mom and dad kept you. Then he erased everyone in the Order’s memory, all except me and Sirius” she said.  “Sirius was supposed to come with us but at the last second decided not to.  I realized that he was going to come, because he talked Lily and James to make Peter their secret keeper.  Well, you know the rest.”
She started to cry, as tears were falling hitting the picture. It seemed like the little boy on the broom was dodging her tears.  Harry looked at the picture, then back at his godmother.
"You can have that if you want?" he said to her.
That's very kind of you Harry," she said. "But I already have this one."
She goes to her bags that are neatly placed at the foot of her bead. She pulls out a picture, and hands it to Harry. He gasps for a mere second. This picture is just like the other one, except there was no big tear in it. This time, Harry sees what the entire picture looks like with his own eyes. The picture had his mum and dad and Sirius and him with a baby on the broom, just like the other one.  But next to Sirius, where the picture was ripped, sat a very younger looking Emily, and a baby girl in her lap.
Chapter 6: Burning Nightmare
[View Online]  [Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]
Author’s Note: Ok, this chapter should explain a lot. If not, please let me know, that way I can explain it a lot better. Also, this is the introduction to Draco after the battle of Hogwarts.
The darkness seems to stretch for eternity.  It looks as if you can get close enough to some light, but then complete darkness.  A hissing sound is heard again, and a voice follows.
"He ruined your life, let's not forget that.  If it wasn't for him, you wouldn't have lost your best friend.  He is scum.  You've deserved better."
The voice is hissing, and his left arm is burning, and he can't see anything.  Then a light is shown, and the mark on his left arm starts to light up as if it was on fire.  The image of the snake through the skull illuminates him until he is ultimately ablaze.
"This is your calling......this is what you were suppose to be.  You are his ultimate rival, not me.  I was merely a pawn to your true destiny.  He is the one that caused you this pain!"
"AHHHHHHHHGH!"
 Draco Malfoy sat up quickly in his bed.  He immediately grabbed his left arm, as if he was in pain.  Sweat dripped all over his face and hair.  He looked down at his arm, the mark that reminds him of his past doings.  Things he doesn't want to remember, but come to his dreams at night. Mostly a lot of frightful and horrid things that come to his mind.  He see's death and destruction, and wants nothing to do with it.  His thoughts run through.
Why is this happening to me?  Why am I suffering through this?  It is his fault, but what can I do?  I'm nothing anymore!  Why do I feel this hatred?
Draco winces as his arm is in pain.  Then looks up as his door opens, and his mother walks in. Narcissa Malfoy runs to the side of her son's bed, as Luscious walks in.
"What is it Draco?", his mother asks.  She has been worried these past few months since the end of the war.  She sees him grasping his arm, and looks at Luscious.
"Fight it son," Luscious said.  "Eventually, the pain goes away.  Just fight the demon."
Draco embraces his mother, and father, as the pain slowly starts to fade.
Tomorrow, it will go away.  Tomorrow, I'll be going back to Hogwarts.
-------------------
Hailey wakes up from the sleep she was in, and calls for her mother.  There was no answer.  What a strange dream she had.  Some blonde kid was in pain, and it felt as if she could feel it too.  She was grabbing at her left arm.  It felt as if it was burning, but then cool as ice to the touch.  It faded, and she got up.
There was a lot of ruckus coming from the downstairs area.  She flipped on the light, as she looked around for a change of clothes.  What she needed was a shower, and grabbed a towel that her "adopted" grandmother gave her.  She got into the bathroom and locked the door.  She started running the water, and began to undress.  As she got in the shower, the beads of water felt good over her skin.
She felt clean already, without the use of soap. She got a lot dirtier than she had though going through the fireplace, with what did they call it, floo powder.  She felt disgusted.  But they say that it only happens the first time, and that the chimney hasn’t cleaned yet.
Downstairs, all the guests had started arriving for a special dinner.  Everyone had come to see Hailey and Emily.  Weasley family members whose memories were erased were coming, along with those who still held on to that memory. Ginny was very excited as well.
"I can't believe I have a sister," she said to Harry.  "Just like you, what are the odds!"
Ginny was right.  It was very coincidental that his god mother turned out to be a Weasley.  Ginny had noticed that Harry has been the happiest this last hour since coming out from the bedroom talking to her sister.  She found it weird, but understood.  They could hear the shower start from upstairs, and Harry knew what that meant.  Soon he would finally get to meet his sister!
Minutes passed as Harry and Ron was talking to the rest of the Weasley men, George, Bill and Charlie. Arthur was sitting with Kingsly Shackelbot, Molly, Emily and Professor McGonagall, Emily with Ginny and Hermione.
"Minerva," Emily said.  "Why can't we go to the ministry tonight?"
"My dear, " said McGonagall "The ministry has to agree to let us do this.  Kingsly is doing the best he can.  When it happens, we will immediately go. Besides, you have to get ready for Hogwarts."
"What?" she said.
"Well, if I'm not mistaken, you worked well with potions when you were in school, and seeing that we need a few teachers this year, I was hoping that you....well"
"Have a job?" asked Emily.
"Yeah, and you'd be close to Hailey" she said.  "Kingsly has agreed to it.  Here"
She pulled out some parchment, and handed it to Emily.
"You're going to pay me how much?" she said. “Um, yeah."
All of a sudden, the loudest scream is heard and the house begins to shake.
"Bloody hell...." Ron states really loud!
"Watch your mouth Ronald", yelled Molly.
Emily quickly rushed up stairs, followed along with everyone else.  When they got to the bathroom, they opened the door, and there stood Hailey, partly wrapped in a towel standing on the toilet looking down at Kreatcher, the house elf.
"WHAT IS THAT THING?" she screamed.
"Kreatcher was only getting master's sister's clothes." said the house elf.  "Kreatcher didn't mean to scare master's sister."
"Kreatcher, it’s ok." said Harry.  "Go ahead and clean up the chimney Kreatcher.  We'll be down in a bit."
"Hailey are you ok?" asked her mother.  Emily keeps looking around, and seems to be calmed down, but realizes that there is a whole bunch of people around, and she is half naked. She sees who has to be Harry, and her face is all red.
"Hi," she says with somewhat of a confused smile on her face. "I'm Hailey."
--------------------------------
Not quite the first impression she wanted to give to her brother, though his friend Ron kept staring down her way at the table!
"Ronald Weasley!" said Hermione. "Take a picture, it would last longer."
"You know you’re right," he said starting to get up.  "I'll go get my camera."
Hermione grabbed the back of his shirt as to pull him down.  Harry laughed, along with the others sitting down.  Harry looked at Hailey, and listen to her speak.  She had that American accent, and it was different hearing her talk.
"How was America" he asked.  He had always wanted to go there, from watching the telly at his aunt an uncle's house, whenever they left for some fancy ado trying to make them look sophisticated or something. But that was before he found out what he really was.  He never wanted to go back to that place, but knows that they will need to know.  He knows how Vernon reacted, but with the reconciliation with Dudley and his aunt Petunia before he left, he owed it to them to know the truth.  He would owl them later tonight before he goes to bed.  He loves owling to his uncle, only because he knows how crazy Vernon gets.  Harry is senile when it comes to his uncle.
"It is great." she said.  As shy as she was, she didn't really want to a lot of small talk.  But she did want to get to know her brother.  From everything that has happened to him, and believe me people like to talk about it, he seemed subtle about things.  Perhaps they were more alike than she had thought.  The crowd started to dwindle, and she was amazed at how many people came to see her and her mother.  Harry and Hailey were sitting in parlor room, Harry usually slept on the big couch, because he felt comfortable down there.  Kingsly and Arthur walk in.
"Just leaving Harry," Kingsly said.  "I will get with you some other time to discuss something’s."  He looked at Hailey.
"Miss, it was a pleasure to meet you," he said.  "If your anything like your brother, we can expect great things from you."
Hailey wasn't quite sure what to say, but thanked him, and he walked out.  Arthur followed him, no doubt talking about Ministry stuff.
Ginny comes walking in, and sits next to Harry.  She grabs his hand, and Hailey noticed that.
"So you two..." she said kind of pointing at them.  Harry nodded.  The voice of Molly and Emily start coming through, and immediately the two drop their hands.  Hailey noticed that too, but decided not to say anything.
"G'nite dears, “said Molly.  "Hailey, you can stay with Ginny and Hermione’s room.  A bed and your clothes are already in there."
Emily looked at Hailey. "Don't stay up too late, tomorrow, we go get your things for school." and kisses her daughter on the top of the head.
"MOM" Hailey yelled.
"What....not in front of your friends?" Emily said in a smart-ass way. "Relax!  Goodnight Harry, and you too Ginny."
She looks at the two of them, and smiles. She walks upstairs with her mother.
"I think she knows," says Ginny.
"Oh she knows," says Hailey.  " But your mother doesn't."
"You know, I just thought of something," said Harry.  "If Emily is your adopted mother, then Ginny is your adopted Aunt!"
Ginny starts to laugh, but Emily gets the weirdest look on her face.
"But in all seriousness Harry," she said to him.  "How did you do it?"
"Do what?" he asked her.  The conversation was now going from playfulness, to seriousness.
"How is it that you survived and our parents didn't." she asked.  Harry forgot that she too never knew her parents.
"Mum" he said.  "She sacrificed herself for me.  That created this shield that protected me.  And at the time, thought to have destroyed....."
"Voldemort, right?" she said cutting off Harry.
"How do you know that name?" said Harry.
"Mom told me." she said.  "But can you keep a secret?"
Harry kind of straightened up.  Of course he can.  He still hasn’t told Ginny everything yet, which is something he would still have today.
"Yeah, what's up?" he said.
"I've been having these weird dreams," she said.  "Ever since I found out about being a witch, I keep seeing the same thing over and over."
"What?" asked Ginny
"A blond boy with a weird looking tattoo on his arm.  It keeps burning him, and then engulfs him.  A voice is talking to him about someone, but I don't really understand it."
"And this boy," Harry asked. "Does he have a name?"
"I think so." she said.  "Who's Tom Riddle?"
Chapter 7: A Visit To Privet
[View Online]  [Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter]
Harry knew he only had a few minutes to speak to his aunt and Dudley, before Uncle Vernon pushed him out of his house.  Harry always imagined Vernon very ungrateful of Harry for saving his family’s life, but knew that his uncle felt the same way.  Vernon had a very keen way of making sure you’re not welcome.  He had been like that to Harry all his life.
As the car pulled into Privet Dr, Harry got out with Hailey.  Emily stepped out as well, along with Molly and Arthur.  They were there to support Harry and Hailey.  Harry walks up to the door, and hit's the buzzer.  He immediately heard Dudley's voice.
Seconds later, the locks are heard to be cracking, and then the door swings open.  There stood what looked like Harry's cousin, except allot thinner. To reference it, he is about as thin as his mother.
"Harry" he said.  "What in the..."
"Dudley?" asked Harry. "You look, uh...thin."
"Thanks." he said.  "What are you doing here?"
"Is Aunt Petunia here?" he asked. "I need to talk to her."
Dudley nodded, and asked him to wait.  Harry could not believe his eyes when he saw that Dudley lost allot of weight.  He actually was proud of his cousin.  After a few seconds, Petunia comes running into the hall.
"Harry," she said.  "Thank god you’re alive!"  Petunia starts to hug on him, as Harry kind of straightened himself as she let go.  Then he heard it.  The voice he didn't want to hear.
"Is HE here?" said the very soft voice of Vernon Dursley.  Harry could hear the coldness in his voice.
"Yes Vernon," said Petunia. "Along with some others."
"Come in here boy!" he said.
Harry re-assured everyone that he would be ok, but he insisted Hailey to come in.   Petunia agreed, and they walked into the foyer room.  It looked just like it did the last time he saw them.  That night, Alastor Moody and his bird Hedwig died.  But the atmosphere soon changed, as he saw his uncle sitting down.  Oh what use to be his uncle?  Uncle Vernon did not look like the man he once was.  He looked very thin, not like how Dudley looked, but looked as if he was very sick.  He had an oxygen tank next to him, and a hose through his nose.  An IV was on him, and a machine seemed to monitor his heartbeat.
"I knew this day would come boy!" he said. "I knew I'd see you one last time."
"What in the hell is going on here?" Harry asked.
"Harry, your uncle is....." Petunia said before being cut off by Vernon.
"Dying." he said.  "I'm dying Harry."
That was the first time he called him Harry.  Well the first time he didn't scream his full name because Harry did something to him.
"Harry, I am glad you came" said Petunia.  "I wish you would have called us, but I understand why."
"Thank you," he said.  "But I need to tell you something."
"Anything" she said.
"Please sit down." said Harry
Petunia sit next to Vernon, and Dudley, who hadn't taken his eyes off of Hailey, snapped out of it and sits down.
"Harry before you begin," said Vernon.  "There is something I need to say."
"I was very wrong to treat you the way that I did." he said.  "I know I can't take back those years that you lived with us."
He continued. "But I am reflecting on how terrible a person I was, and paying for it for this disease.  It is something that I have learned to live with, and with the knowledge that I won't be around very shortly."
"Thank you," said Harry.  "That meant a lot."
"Soon, I'll be waiting for Petunia with Marge by my side."
"Aunt Marge is dead?" he said.
"Yes," she said.  "Mauled to death by her beloved Ripper."
"Wow," Harry said trying hard to make a straight face.
"So what is it you want dear?" asked Aunt Petunia.
"I would like you to meet Hailey" said Harry. "She is my twin sister."
"What...." Petunia tried to utter out of her mouth.
"She is your niece" he said to her. "I just found out this summer."
There was complete silence for a few moments, which seemed a bit awkard.  After a few more moments, you could see tears come into the eyes of  Petunia.
"My dear," said Uncle Vernon. "you are a spitting image of your mother, except with the whole brown hair.
After awhile longer, Harry had told them that they had to go and that they would keep in touch.  Harry decided to make peace with his uncle, and felt that there was more life in Vernon that day.
"Uncle Vernon," he said. "Let me help."
"With what?" Vernon asked.
"With this, all of this that has happened to you." he said.
"Son, my time is almost up." said Vernon.  "I just want to make peace before I go."
Harry insisted that Petunia take Vernon to St. Mungo's and that Harry would pay for the healing.  Allot of things could be treated, and Petunia said she would discuss it with him.  After about an hour since they arrived, Harry said his good byes, along with Hailey, not realizing the rest of the group was still out in the car waiting.
He gave his Aunt a hug, and after some persuading hugged his uncle goodbye.  He shook Dudley's hand and told them that he would write them and that the offer was still standing with Vernon.
As soon as they got in the car, Ron immediately opened his mouth.
"So how was that torture?" asked Ron.
"Honestly," said Harry "It was the best time I had ever had."  Then he smiled and started talking to Ginny.
The trip to Diagon Alley was short and easy.  Kingsley sent the best Ministry car to Grimmuald Place, and Hailey felt almost like royalty.  Harry sat there listening to his sister, talk about American things to Arthur Weasley.  Emily just laughed.
"Dad's really into muggle stuff?" she asked Molly. Molly nodded.
"Ever since your father took over that ridiculous job at the Ministry," said Molly "He's done nothing but rant and rave about muggles."
Harry laughed, as he looked back.  Hailey had pulled out a pair of tweezers from her bag to show Mr. Weasley.  But as much as Harry was glad to see his sister, he was still puzzled about what the dream she told him about.  And not to mention that she knew the name "Tom Riddle".  Whatever the case, he wanted to tell McGonnigal about it, but felt that something just wasn't right.  Harry knew that McGonnigal would tell him to think nothing of it, and that is' coincidental.  But how  could a girl, living in America for 17 years know of the man very few people know as Tom Riddle.  To everyone else, this man was known as Voldemort or He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.  Harry wasn't the only one to think something needed to be said.  You need to tell McGonnigal Harry," said Hermione.  Ginny and even Ron stated that as well.  Harry knew he had to, but decided that instead of messing with his last trip to Diagon alley as a student, that he would wait until later to do it.
The car pulled up to "The Leaky Cauldron", where as soon as Hailey stepped out, her nose went straight up in the air. The dirty look of the location was almost gratifying to see to Harry.  He couldn't really remember the last time he came here.  Probably George and Fred’s Joke Shop.
"What in the world is that stench?" she asked.  Emily however got out, and had the biggest smile on her face.
"That my dear daughter is the smell of greatness," she said.  She looked at Molly and Arthur.  "Does Tom still make his famous Pea Soup?"
Harry could only think about the time he hitched On the he Knight Bus, where that dangling shrunken head told him to eat it before it eats you.  To this day Harry still hasn't understood that. But before he could say anything, Hailey yelled out.
"Tom?" she said.  "Is his name Tom Riddle?"
Then it was out.  Complete silence throughout the entire group.
~~~~~~~~~~~~

Draco walked throughout Diagon Alley all nervous like.  Every time he looks up, a cold, dark stare would be given.  He knew why.  He was the one of the reasons why people were dead.  His father, safe from Ministry prosecution, renounced his family of the Dark Lord.  So, in hind sight, Draco was spared, and yet persecuted by the witches and wizards all around him. The pain and suffering will not go away.  He begins to touch his arm again, as if it was still burning.

"Draco...." said his mother. “We just need to get you a new wand.  Olivander’s have seemed to be re-opened."

Draco knew that wouldn't be a pleasant sight.  The man that death eaters kidnapped, and took to his home.  He knew this would be one of the longest and hardest things to do.  As soon as he walked, he was immediately hit with a force.  Something was not letting him in.

"NO!" said the old man standing on the ladder.  "No way in hell are you stepping foot in my store!" he said.

"Mr. Olivander," said Narcissa Malfoy. "he needs a wand.  A good wand from the best wand maker in England."

"Absolutely not" said Olivander.  "After what you Malfoy's did to me, no.  I don't care what the ministry said I had to do."

"We were under the Imperious Curse!" lied Draco.  "Can't you see that we are all victims here Mr. Olivander?"

Olivander looked at him.  He could see into what he first thought to be cold dark eyes, and Olivander saw a different side of Draco Malfoy.  Malfoy looked at Olivander again and this time Olivander raised his wand, muttered something and a blue line began to lower.  As they walked through, the blue line lifted back up and a charge jolted the small building.

"That is the Mr. Malfoy I know," says Olivander.  "I am sorry for that, but you must realize the things that I went through as well."

"So a new wand is it?" he continued.  "Do come in, do come in."

Draco walked to the desk, to see Olivander go through the back little alley, and climbed up the ladder, and pulled out the long slender box.

"Inside, everyone now!" said Arthur Weasley.  Harry knew that tone.  He didn't want anyone to hear what was going on.  He goes up to Tom at the bar, and whispers into his ear.  Tom nods, putting down his towel, and climbing on a stool.

"OY!" said Tom really loud.  "Due to Ministry business, the Leaky Cauldron is closed until further notice.  Everyone looked up, and immediately headed out of the bar area.

"The guest in the rooms?" asked Arthur.  With a flick of Tom's wand, you hear loud click sounds from upstairs, and with another flick, paper airplane's, that are memos fly upstairs.

"I'll put a silencing charm in here, and I'll head to my office.  Just call when you’re done Arthur." said Tom.  And with a beat, he was gone.

"Hailey....." Arthur said.  "Where do you know that name?"

Hailey looked confused, and began to sweat a little.  All the adults, including her mother was waiting for an answer?  She knew that look on her mother's face.  She remembers it vividly the day that Peyton Tisdale's hair caught on fire.  The day she found out she was a witch.

"Hailey, it is important" said her mother.  "How do you know that name?"

"I have heard that name in a dream of mine" she said.  "When I told Harry....."

Uh...oh.  There it was.  The moment Harry didn't want to happen.

"I was going to say something," said Harry. "But..."

"But, nothing Harry," said Arthur. "We needed to know that.  If there is any way of him coming back."

"There's not." said Harry.  He didn't want to tell them, but he had to.

"There is no definite Harry" said Arthur.  "When he killed your parents...."

"WHAT?" screamed Hailey.  "Tom Riddle killed our mom and dad, and you knew about it?"

Harry was caught in a bind.  He knew now that he should have immediately told everyone.  This was going to be very hard.

"Alright...."Harry said.  "This is what everyone has wanted to know."
