You know that you’re a sucker for dimples.” Scorpius’s voice cut though my thoughts as I swiveled a little on one foot, the dead early-autumn leaves crinkling under my footsteps. Out of every student in the Kings Cross area, Scorpius Malfoy stood out the most to me. His black winter coat zipped open and his left hand thrust in to his jean pocket, his right hand in to mine. The fact that Malfoy had his hand in the pocket by your bum would bother the majority of the female population of Hogwarts, making them all jealous. But, I am yet to be charmed. All I manage to see in the 17 year old boy is the 3 year old that used to run around my front garden with no clothes on. His coat flapped open a little as the wind blew, causing my scarf to bob little as I walked the teal colour spreading from being draped around my shoulders to tickling the tips of my boots by my ankles a little. Us two walking up the muggle High Street my arm linked through his would alarm some, considering the Malfoy heritage and my Muggleborn status. My family moved in next door to his when we were tot’s. We shortly became inseparable and Scorps dad just had to deal with it. When I got my letter from Hogwarts it cleared up a lot. Especially the obsession I had for blowing up tea cups without being near them. What can I say, my mothers Tea Cup collection was dreadfully awful. Scorps mum - Auntie Astoria to me – had assumed early on that I was a witch, but cause of the case that it was merely an assumption; she kept the information to herself. Mr Malfoy is still yet to warm to me; but if I’m perfectly honest, I’m never really expecting that to happen. “I’m not a sucker for dimples.” I reasoned, blowing a strand of blonde hair from my face. “I just like a good smile.” He smirked. “I have three recorded case from the past year of people that you have liked … and guess what,” I looked up to him, a tolerative expression taking residence on my small features. “They all had dimples.” “Have you been writing them down or something?” I asked choking a little on nothing. “That is the action of a loner Scorpius an you are anything but a loner.” He shook his head. “Nahh, I’m not one for random conversation.” “Face it Scorp, people like you.” “Shut up.” “And with a charm like that how can they resist?” I teased; wrapping my palms firmly around his muscled arm as he clumsily bumped me with his hip before briefly wrapping his arms around me tightly. Even with high heeled ankle boots on, he was still a head height taller. He glanced at the telephone box, bright red and standing out in a sea of colour. Scorpius is fascinated by them – the colour, the shape, the sound, the fact that it has a phone inside. I’ve never really had the heart to point out to him that it’s really a Muggle pee-machine. Or sometimes, it it’s lucky, a temporary home to someone who snoozes inside when it rains. “C’mon Willa.” He said while pulling me down a subway steps, his voice still has husky as ever. “I need coffee.” “You always need coffee!” I cried childishly. He thought for a moment as he dragged me by hand to the coffee shop. “I’ll buy you a cookie Will’s.” I raised my eyebrows but only replied with a small shrug and giddy shake. He linked his arm though mine as we made our way down the stairs. “I just really need the caffeine. The bloody tosser kept me up all night.” I laughed. “He’s only five.” “That … thing … is not five. He’s a monster.” He said, referring to his baby cousin, Thomas. Scorpius made a face as I pulled open the paint deprived door to his favorite coffee shop. We have to come here every time we’re out. Even if we’re not in London, we have to apperate here. I shook my head as he followed me inside, the smell of coffee and sugar suddenly knocking every other of my senses out of proportion – including my balance. I stepped though the doorway and fell flat on my face. At least I would have if Mr Tall Dark and Handsome wasn’t there to catch me. My heart fluttered as I stared in to the most beautiful blue eyes that I have ever seen. “Th, thank you.” I stuttered as he pulled me up. “Hey do me a favor.” Scorpius said from behind. “Smile for me.” My nose crinkled but I did what he asked. “Not you, you dolt.” He said prodding my nose lightly. “Scamander.” My brows furrowed as Scorpius smirked. “Yep.” He said folding his arms. “Move along mate, you’re not getting any.” He patted Mr Tall Dark and Handsome on the back as he walked out of the shop a little stunned. “What one eart-“ “He had no dimples.” Scorpius rounded on me as he dipped his hand in to his pocket and pulled out a handful of muggle change. “I was just doing you a favor.” I sulked. “Hey now, don’t go all mute on me Willa Chambers. That was Scamander anyway. Any no way in hell is he getting anywhere near you. Not in my life time.” My mouth fell open as I punched him on the arm. “What was that for?” He cried, rubbing his arm roughly. “Well I was going to punch you as a joke but then I realized that I didn’t want to!” He quickly broke in to a grin at my sulky expression and put his free hand on my shoulder. “You’re so dense Scorp.” I said quietly. “Do you honestly think that was Lorcan?” he looked thoughtful. “That butt-face would walk over someone’s dead corpse to get a free pack of gum. Do you honestly think that he would catch me, let along come in to a coffee shop?” Laughing again he shook his head. “I guess not. That was probably Lysander.” “Why are you laughing? This isn’t funny. You’re going to apologize to him the moment that you see him.” I ordered, ignoring the few female eyes that landed on my neighbor for a little longer than necessary. I paid them no notice. “I’m not laughing at Xander, Willa. I’m laughing at you.” Scorp pulled me away from the door and up to the counter. “What did I do?” I asked slowly. He shook his head. “You’re just funny. It’s the way that you crinkle your nose when you’re confused, it always makes me laugh.” I pouted and fiddled with the ends of his fingers with my own. “And the apology?” He sighed. “Yes, yes, I will apologize to Scamander next time I come across him alright, now chocolate chip or plain chocolate?” I raised a blonde eyebrow. “Alright, chocolate chip it is.” “Four takeaway coffee’s please, and a chocolate chip cookie,” He said to the waitress as he leant on to the counter. She nodded and turned around to work the coffee machine. Why four you ask? Rose and Albus, if we didn’t order something for them, they would flip. They’re probably already at the station –we have like, an hour until the train leaves. When we looked back up the woman had stopped making our coffee’s and instead turned to talking to another waitress. Turning to the other girl behind the counter, Scorpius put o his make-the-ladies-melt smile that he uses so often and winked at the poor girl. “Hi, we just ordered four coffees and I’m still caffeine deprived. I wouldn’t usually complain, but we’ve got somewhere to be.” The waitress seemed to fumble around and leave the drinks that she was making to carry on the order that we were missing, leaving other consumers to glare in annoyance. They were obviously like caffeine deprived Scorpius’s too. Oh lordy – I’m in a shop full of coffee deprived Malfoy’s! Eeep. She handed us the four hot drinks in the cardboard holder for four that no one ever knows the name of. I guess it’s just, cardboard coffee holder. Scorp handed over the money and winked before laving the shop. He handed me my chocolaty goodness and watched me unwrap it. “Your coffee Madame.” He said with a smile, handing me the hot polystyrene cup with a small white napkin to stop me from burning my fingers. He always takes care of me that Malfoy. I curtseyed a little as stepped off of the curb and walked back towards the main station. “I hope that you didn’t forget to pack underwear this year.” He teased as he leant towards me and bit in to MY cookie! My mouth fell open as he chewed. “That is good cookie, why don’t you have some?” I shrugged. “Oh, I don’t know, maybe because you took an Everest bite!” he laughed and glanced at the huge bite-attack that cause half of my cookie to die a chewable death. “I’m sorry. Next time, I’ll but you a plain one instead. I don’t like those ones.” “Neither do I?” “Well then.” He said, putting his hand back in to my pocket and yanking me firmly closer. “I guess we’re screwed.” “Willa!” I spun around, pushing my hair from my face as we entered platform 9 ¾. I grinned as our two best mates in the world came hurtling towards us, knocking unsuspecting first years out of the way. “Oh Albus, look you made him cry.” Rose scolded, pointing towards the tiny boy who scrambled from off of the floor and made his way back to a pair of rather annoyed parents. “Not my problem.” He shrugged. Scorp smiled and enveloped his best friend in to a man hug, he pulled his hand from my trousers. “Oh, coffee!” “Come on Will’s! Mum wants to see you!” Rose said excitedly, grabbing my arm and pulling me towards her family but not before nicking her drink from Scorpius’s stash. “Oh and don’t worry, Uncle Harry’s already put you’re luggage on the train from when you stayed over.” “And Batman?” I asked, referring to my little cat that seemed unable to grow for the past 6 years. “On the train, I didn’t think that you would appreciate me leaving her with Albus.” I nodded gratefully and ran with Rose towards her family. The Weasley and Potter clans usually managed to conjure up and oh or an oh lord where ever they went. It drove Rose up the wall. Rose and Albus were the perfect pair. Al wasn’t happy unless he was the centre of attention every second of his life and Rose would be happily at one with the world just leaning on a near by wall with a book, making sure that Al doesn’t go too far. I think that’s why Scorpius fancies her so much. He tries to hide it. But he’s best friends with the master here. He can’t keep anything from me. He was there when I first got my ears pierced; alike I was when he fell off of the roof of his shed at age 11. He had to go to Saint Mungo’s as his mother was too worried to cast the healing spell herself, neither of us was qualified to cast it. Draco is a healer – he was able to fix it in a heart beat. He kissed his wife on the nose and told her not to worry. At that moment I realized that he was one of the best fathers around. He may be quiet; he may be a little ‘different’. But he cares for Scorpius and Astoria, that’s all that he needs. It was the love that I wanted, the kiss on the nose; gaze in to his eyes sort of love. Scorp bumps or kisses my nose sometimes; he knows how much I love little gestures like that. “Willa my love.” Hermione Granger exclaimed when I reached them. “How are you sweetie?” She asked as she hugged me. I smiled to Rose. “Ron, say hello.” She ordered. He grunted something that resembled how are you when Hugo practically pounced on me with Lily. Ronald Weasley is possibly the most grudge holding yet caring father on the face of the planet. Don’t get me wrong, I love my dad and all, but he would never go to the lengths that Mr Weasley does to keep Rose safe for me. Ron has a small problem with the Malfoy family, I’m sure that it has something to do with the Wizarding War. I’ve read up about it in the Hogwarts Library. It’s fascinating. But as of his problem with Scorpius, he doesn’t like me too much due to my closeness with him. He actually refuses to believe that Rose even converses with Scorp. He mistook Scorpius for my brother upon our first meeting. Yes we have the same hair colour and all, but really? When Lily and Hu released me from my favorite hug of the year I knocked Albus’s glasses off of his face when he pushed me forward in to his older brother James; who had come to wave off the family. “Albus, no bulling my favorite child now.” Ginny Potter said hugging me briefly. Lily laughed as James rolled his eyes. Albus’s eyes bulged behind his glasses. “No buts Al. When Willa becomes my daughter in law, I’m trading you in. Will’s does the washing up.” I laughed and took Als hand. Ginny seems to have this idea that Albus and I will get married. Albus say’s it’s not an idea. It’s a hope. It always makes me laugh. She introduces me to the family as ‘daughter-in-law’ and makes me call her mum and Harry dad. I’m sure that Harry Potter finds it hilarious; he once told me that he loves that fact that I used to have absolutely no idea who he was until Scorpius explained to me. To me – Harry Potter has always just been ‘Oi daddio!’ “We’ve been over this Mrs Potter.” Scorpius said breaking our hands apart and taking each in his own. “I’m afraid my parents booked her when we were six. She’s never had a chance in life.” He sighed dramatically. “Poor girl.” “I can still hope.” Ginny laughed and kissed his cheek. “Oh, I love motherly affection.” He said dramatically, holding our hands to his chest and shuddering a little. Ginny shook her head, but with an obvious smile on her face. She would never admit it to Ron, but she loved Scorpius. I’m sure Hermione did too. Al ripped his hand away and smacked his friend over the back of the head, resulting in a shocked and somehow clueless look from Scorpius. The whistle blew, and the mad scramble to grab carriages began instantly. Only the seventh year’s remained on the platform. It’s the same every year. The seventh year privilege, it’s known as. Albus kissed his mother on the cheek and hugged his father before grabbing Lily’s hand and running on to the train with his sister, making sure that she got a seat with decent people. “Keep my boy’s safe now.” Harry said, giving me a strong fatherly hug and nodded towards Scorp and Al. “I’ll do my best.” I said pulling away and giving him a brownie guide promise. He laughed and saluted me, army style. “Willa.” Scorpius moaned loudly, sounding a lot like an ungrateful child. “Stop flirting with Dad and get over here, we’ve got a school to get to!” I gave my coffee to Harry, I’m sure he took a swig as I ran towards the train. Al’s mouth fell open as I fell in to a seat by the fog covered window. “He said that … to Scamander?” I nodded enthusiastically kicking my boots off and revealing a rather dotty pair of bright red socks. “I think he actually knew that it was Xander and not Lorcan.” “I doubt Scorpius would do something like that on purpose.” I clicked my tongue. “Are you kidding? We’re talking about Scorpius Malfoy, the boy that last year discreetly shoved a twelve year old in front of a Hippogriff for insulting Rosie’s hair.” “Well it was Rose that the kid insulted. You know how Scorpius gets when it comes to her.” “Al!” I exclaimed. “That doesn’t make it alright though does it? He said that boy ‘tripped’ in to the Hippogriff pen, the wall was two foot high! And to be perfectly honest, the child wasn’t too much taller!” Albus smiled and attempted to tame a messy strand of his hair. “C’mere.” I said quietly, licking my fingers and swapping seats to the other side of the carriage. I flicked little bits of his hair out of the way so that it looked half way decent, Albus fighting every step of the way. “Get off of me Willa-“ “Stop Moving Al, you’re making it hard on your self!” He swatted my hands out of the way. “The ladies love it.” “The ladies.” I said impersonating him. “Think that you look like a tramp!” “No they don’t!” “It’s not cool to look like a tramp!” He shoved my elbow from the seat where it was leaning, I was about to fall. Correction; I did fall. Albus grunted as my chest came crashing down to his, my head falling against his shoulder as he bashed his own against the metal window sill. My blonde locks falling in to his face. “Merlin Wills.” “Trampy boy, let me fi-“ “-I can’t breathe, you’re bloomin choking m-“ I sat up to roll off of him as he pulled me back down and attempted to roll me on to the floor so he could breathe again. But being Albus – he did it wrongly, and ended up rolling off himself and managing to take him with me. I looked up, meeting his annoyed expression with a distinctly playful look. “This is a weird case of déjà vu.” I muttered shoving him off of me and dragging my hand against the condensated window as I went. “This is nice?” Scorpius said, accompanied by a cough in the form of Rose standing behind him. On the account they are both Head Boy and Girl, (God only knows how Scorp achieved it) they were doing rounds on the train. Albus and I had only a short amount of time to gossip about the two of them, plan on how to get them together and to discard my beige coat in to the corner of the carriage. Instead, we ended up rolling on top of each other like a pair of children. “Wipe that satisfied smirk clear off of your face Scorpius Malfoy!” I warned, crinkling my nose a little. “Aww, you see, there you go again!” he cried and pulled me in to his lap as he sat down in my spot. “Don’t you guys think she’s adorable when she does that little thing with her nose?” “What? That crinkle thing?” Albus asked. “That’s the cutest thing in the world; it makes me want to kidnap her!” “I know for a fact that it drives a few lads crazy.” Rose added, drawing a dodgy circle in to the fogged glass. “Rose!” I laughed quietly, attempted to escape the strong grip Scorpius had on me. He was holding me down on to his lap, but not in a normal fashion. She added eyes and a smile to this smiley face. “What? I’ve had people ask about you before. It’s no biggie.” “Who are they?” Scorp exclaimed, his face was harsh for a moment before he said, “I’ll have ‘em!” “No, no, no!” I raised my eyebrows and he blew in my face. “You will not … be ‘having’ anyone … in any shape or form!” I cried, attempting to blow back the entire way through. “Oh, I can assure you Miss Chambers,” he smirked, his eyes darkening as he hugged his arms around my waist and bobbed me up and down like a child. “That I will be ‘having’ someone this year.” “Or something.” Rose muttered in a bored voice – though loud enough for Scorpius to hear. The cocky smile that played on his lips quickly faded. “That’s no way to talk about yourself Rosie. If there’s anything that I have learnt from my fathers experiences, it’s not to put yourself down!” “Why, are you interested?” Rosie said, wearing a smirk that was almost enough to challenge his. He rose and eyebrow. My breath caught at the two possible reactions that he could have … a) Yes Rose, actually I am. I have been in love with you since our forth year when you punched me in the face for insulting your intelligence. Weird I am. Or there was this option. “Hardly.” He spoke coolly. Not one emotion fit to his voice. For that split moment in time, he was his father. “Then I guess you’re left shagging Albus, Malfoy. He’s the only on that’ll have you.” My body shook with laughter as Scorpius sat silenced, boring in to my back. “I’m going to change, I’ll be back soon.” She hopped up and slammed the door of the carriage behind her, shaking the glass in its frame. Rose defiantly inherited the Weasley temper. Although unlike her father, she didn’t like to show it in public – she would go off somewhere private. Which is probably why she left her school clothes in her trunk, it’s currently up above Albus’s head. Rose was so easily ruffled, it didn’t take more than one sentence spoken by Scorpius to drive her up the wall. “I’ll go.” Al said slowly. “Make sure she doesn’t kill any children or sommin.” He stopped at the door, sliding it open slowly. “Or even worse; the train driver.” I smiled a little and stood up off of Scorpius’s lap, sitting where Al once was. He looked up at me with a small smile playing at his lips. I could feel the corners of my mouth instantly lifting upwards. It was such a small gesture, but such things were exactly what one needs. “She’s brilliant.” He said quietly, leaning over and tracing the smiley face that she drew in to the window. “Yeah.” I agreed. “Maybe you would stand a hope in hell if you didn’t compare her to a shaggable thing.” He nodded. “Willa, that’s never going to happen,” his eyes traveled over my face momentarily. “You’re such a cliché.” “Huh?” He laughed. “You’re so pretentious. You think that a prince is going to waltz in and sweep you off of your feet.” I shook my head, “I don’t need a prince.” “Oh, and why’s that?” I smiled. “Because I have you and Albus … you’re all I need.” Scorpius smiled at me then. Not the famous Malfoy smirk, not the smile that catches the ladies, or the smile that say’s Ha Gryffindors, we just pranked your arse. A true happy smile. “And there is nothing wrong with being a little cliché.” He nodded. “Of course not.” “Come on Scorpius.” I said quietly. “I’ll give you a game of exploding snap.” He shook his head. “You know I detest that game.” “I’ll let you see my socks.” I cooed, smiling wider than I had in weeks. He stifled a small laugh. “You mean the poka dot ones that you are currently wearing?” I nodded as he kicked my boots out of the way with his feet. “I love you Willa.” “Only because you have to Scorp.” He smiled and poked my nose before pulling a pack of Exploding Snap cards from my coat pocket. “Remind me why you’re sitting on my coat?” “Because it was the only seat that you and Albus didn’t occupy with your love session, of which I will be bringing up again when he returns. I’m not having him sexually attack my baby sis.” I didn’t need Trelawney’s inner eye to tell that conversation is going to be mortifying. An; Opinions? What did you think? This is my second story and, as I feel forced to point out, was originally written as a short story with eight chapters. There are places where it may move a little fast – however please point them out to me and I will fix them. It ended up turning in to a Novella when I realized that instead of writing the 15,000 words needed for a short story, it was actually somewhere in the region of 33,000. But still … a story is a story. This is one of the favorite things that I have written and I am actually kinda proud of it, I would love to know what you think. Constructive criticism is always welcome – oh and a heads up, my spelling is hysterically bad; I have been trying to rectify it for many years now … nothings happened – not a too bigger shocker there. So if there are spelling errors, I apologize and feel free to bully me about them. Disclaimer; Everything goes to JK Rowling. You’ve got to worship the woman! But why oh why did Remus, Tonks and Fred have to die?? I would have nabbed one of the twins before anything possibly could have happened to either of them. Well, now that my slightly psychotic authors note is closing to an end. I would love to hear you opinions. Hint, hint? Sorry for the Godzilla length of this note - you will come to find out that this happens rather alot ... and then I apologize for it resulting in another four paragraphs to be written. Chapter 2: Scorpius; The mysteries of Albus's trousers [View Online] [Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter] ![]() Beautiful Chapter Image by lotrfan185 @ tda. Scorpius Malfoy :) Scorpius Malfoy; The autumn leaves swept under my footsteps in a miniature hurricane of colour, changing from red to green to gold. My duties as Head Boy were basically a load of crap. Do this, do that – or if you’re talking to Al, shag this, shag that. Rose had been forcing us to patrol as much as necessary; silly worries she has. She’s sure that if she’s not there, the building is going to collapse. Honestly, without her, the world wouldn’t be the same. Her hair was pulled in to two tightly woven French plaits, composed by Willa. I loved the way that it could never decide whether it was red or brown, the way she detested every part about herself – she really is beautiful, she’s never been able to see it. I’m sure that Willa is the only one that knows about my secret crush, I’ve been harboring it for years. Possibly Al, although he’s in no way said anything. Rose makes this little squeak when she’s cold, it’s high and so quiet it’s barley noticeable, but I hear it, I’ve always heard it. The way that she always sits in the corner of the library, never in the middle, the fact that she always crosses her right leg over her left, never the other way around, the way that she always borrows Willa’s clothes, like her own are never good enough. It’s all typical Rosie. She checked her watch, “Albus was supposed to be here an hour ago,” she quietly announced, pitifully draping her arms on to the table infront. “-and where on earth is Willa?” I smirked. “It’s Willa you’re talking about; she’s probably forgotten and is walking around away with the fairies.” Albus wasn’t here, not something that surprised me, this year he made the Slytherin House Captain, something he’s been aiming for since fifth year. We’re both on the team, so I know for a fact that he’s been obsessing over strategies. He’ actually been walking around with that bloody leather bound book shoved down the back of his trousers. I only noticed it when Willa pulled it out of them last Charms lesson. Lord only knows how she knew it was in there. “It’s not fair,” she complained, “It’s been two weeks and every time I attempt to converse with him alone, he’s always in the company of his Quidditch friends. Apart from you.” She added half heartedly. I nodded. “Yep, you really know how to make a boy feel loved Rosie.” I turned and timidly waved a little to a rather giddy looking Tina Zabini. My father attempted to set me up on a date with her in our forth year – it was bloody awful. In the end I called Willa and she came and got me, pretending to be my girlfriend. When Tina realized that she infact wasn’t my lover, she’s been trying to date me ever since. Well ‘date’ is said loosely, I don’t particularly think it’s her first intention if you catch my meaning. “You’re such a flirt.” Rose snapped, bestowing me with a defiant frown. I shrugged, pouring myself over my text book, attempting to intake the numerous occasions of when Vampire’s rivaled the Giants for land – and then some random piss about Goblins Revolutions and their battling urges. I raised a blonde brow and looked up pleadingly at Rosie. “Please Red.” I said mournfully. “Please don’t test me this morning; I will be forced to kill you.” “House elves run out of coffee?” I blinked. “Is it that obvious?” She laughed, sending tingles shivering up and down my spine. “Nah, Willa told me first period. She actually looked worried.” “Does it really take that much to worry her?” I shoved the books off of the library desk infront of me so that they landed in to my bag with a plonk. “I guess not.” Rose looked thoughtfully down towards her work, small pieces of auburn hair swept across her forehead in a messy way. Her brown eyes travelled over the lines of the page – that means they moved around a lot. How can that bloody woman read so bloody much? “Malfoy, where are you going?” She snapped; her face knotted with confusion. I ran my hand through my hair, “It’s nearly class, I’m going to go and find Will’s before she forgets that too.” She nodded her head a little. “Ok then,” that’s it, that’s all she’s going to say? I took a deep breath and flashed a confident grin before darting from behind a book shelf in the Ancient Runes classroom, hoping it would make Willa jump – but all I got was a confused look and a nose crinkle. That girl drives me crazy sometimes. Willa has always been dainty, I guess … perfect build for a seeker; but not the slightest bit interested. She has a curtain of white blonde hair; it’s a lot like mine I guess. Her hands are small, supporting long fingers that gracefully glided as she traced her finger across the page. She hardly glanced at me before turning back to her runes. She’s obsessed. I’m rather unaccustomed to this lack of female attention, but between Rose and Willa; you get used to it. I took the seat next to her and strived not to shift uncomfortably. She took an immense amount of satisfaction in the shock appearing in the startling colour of my eyes – they’re grey, hers – a light shade of blue. “Now that’s just rude.” I said rather weakly with a brave attempt at a comic smile, while staring at her work and reading her symbols. Willa’s a whiz as history; her parents are both Muggle Secondary School History teachers. She can remember dates and places at the drop of a hat. This makes her professor Binn’s favorite student – and mine when it came to homework. Her and Rose are the noble Gryffindor’s, Al and me, Slytherins. They do the work, we take the credit. It’s how it’s always been. I repay Willa by making her a mix of waffles and ‘alphabetti spaghetti’ over Christmas holiday for dinner. That’s why I leave Rose to Albus. I can’t really imagine her enjoying child’s pasta in letter shapes while watching a re-run of Fraizer on television. Willa had created a rather crude sentence out of her runes Homework, rearranging the letters on her page to spell out something about Tina’s bum. I admit that I don’t like her, but Willa and all of her cuteness would take her down any day. “It’s not rude, you’re just ignorant.” Anything I said about this girl being cute … I take it back. “Me ignorant? You’re a blonde little dolly.” I knew this would get on her nerves. Her mother always compares her to a doll, but with slightly sharper features. “I’m no dolly, unlike you; little girls don’t play with me.” I choked on my own spit as she giggled. She’s always been a crude little thing. There was amusement in her eyes as she responded lightly. “Here.” She said, handing me my runes homework. “It’s complete, which is just as well seeing as this class starts in a moment. Oh, have you done your History of Magic essay yet? I don’t get it.” I stared at her absentmindedly, mirroring her posture. “History of magic essay? Will’s, I get my best sleep in that class.” She smiled. “Professor Binn’s does have a way of being able to do that doesn’t he?” I laughed lightly. “Not to you, I’m sure if he was alive again he’d waste no time asking you to marry him.” Willa glanced a little shrewdly and then cautiously replied. “I have no answer to that, especially considering the last time he came over to check my work, you practically ordered him to stop staring at my boobies and successfully landed yourself in detention of where you thoughtlessly told him to get a life.” “So?” “He’s dead Scorpius,” she chuckled. “Professor Binn’s is a ghost, you can’t tell a dead person to get a life.” She pulled a box of Chocolate Frogs from her bag and handed them to me. “But I guess they make an exception for you.” I glanced at the box before helping myself. “They had no coffee this morning.” She moaned. “I blame you for getting me hooked.” I shrugged. “You live with my father long enough; you have to have a way out. Mine just happens to be caffeine.” “Well I though that you could use some chocolate instead.” I opened and closed my mouth a little stupidly. It was so true, she knew me so well. “It’s like it’s your time of the month.” I bit back a smile. “Oh yeah? This coming from the girl who turns in to royal twat for 12 weeks a year.” She rolled her eyes. “My problem is hormonal, yours is mental.” I felt warmth envelop my body as the door was pushed open a little to reveal Rose, who snuck in a little late. Her long dark hair swayed elegantly behind her, bobbing as she walked. She ran her fingers over the ends of her shirt as she apologized to the Professor and stepped towards our table. It was our free period for the last hour; the three of us had Ancient Runes now before meeting with Albus next in Charms. “Uh, I met Hugo in the hallway.” She groaned while dropping her books on to the table, landing with a rattle. Willa’s eyes widened, I could tell she was intrigued. “What’s so bad about seeing your brother?” I could tell this was the wrong question. “He was bulling the first years again – last week with dungbombs, this week with the Bogey Bat Hex that Aunt Ginny taught him for defense. I reached the bottom of the stairs and he was there, smirking like a prat and waiting for the first years to leave their lesson. Why he wasn’t in his own I didn’t want to know.” I twisted my fingers slowly. “And do you think by chance.” I ventured. “Your brother could maybe teach me this he-“ Willa really didn’t need to smack me then. It was more of the fact that she jabbed my leg under the table, causing me to lean forward and probably give Rose the impression that I had downs syndrome. Her mouth flew open in surprise. “No, Scorpius, my baby brother could not teach the Head Boy how to pummel the first years with bogeys.” She paused. “It’s utterly repulsive. I am still in awe that Aunt Ginny ever taught him that bloody spell” “I shouted his name-“ She resumed after taking a deep breath, a wonderful and intoxicating breath, but was stopped by Willa’s sniggering. “Will’s you are so immature, is sex really all that you think about? Wait don’t answer that. What I mean to say is that Scorpius you now have to do detention duty on Saturday night. I would do it,” she added, due to my expression. “But he’s my brother, so I’d be impartial. It’s against school rules.” Willa and I stared open mouthed. “What?” “You gave you own brother detention.” Willa asked slowly. “You’re making me do Saturday night babysitting?” I echoed. Willa erupted into laughter so loud that many of the surrounding students glared. I pulled her in to me a little and covered her mouth with my hand. “You two are ridiculous.” “Thanks love.” I said, noticing Willa’s elegant writing already reaching the three quarter way mark of her workbook page. I probably would have been gob smacked if I hadn’t remembered that this was Ancient Runes. Will’s has always had the ability to look and a Rune, shape or language and just read it straight, she can identify literally anything. “So what were you two discussing before I so rudely interrupted?” Willa pulled my hand away and straightened up. “We were discussing Scorpius’s fear of intimacy with men.” My jaw dropped as Rose bit back a smile. “No we bloody weren’t!” I hissed, glancing at my friends and biting my lip. “We were discussing your period thank you very much.” Rise’s eyes widened a little more. “But why?” She inquired. “You were on last week; I mean you borrowed a tampon and all.” “I know, that was an awful day too. It didn’t help that I was PM- sit back down Scorpius!” She ordered, pulling me back to my chair as I hugged my satchel to my chest. She giggled. “We’re only playing, but you really do have a fear of homosexuality.” Willa hummed softly to herself as we quickly made our way down the staircase of the Forth Floor. It’s harder to walk arm in arm if your partner in dragging you along at an alarming speed. We had last seen Albus this bright Wednesday morning, it’s now the dark gloomy evening with small outbursts of thunder and lightening. Crash, Bang, Wallop and the Whomping Willow has been over turned. Upon entering the Great Hall Willa finally stopped. “Oh piss-tastic.” I always did love her imaginative swearing; never a normal word would come from her mouth. “Have I ever told you that I love you’re swear words?” That was awfully literal. “Frequently.” She replied absentmindedly. I bopped her nose. “So what’s piss-tastical? Hopefully you’re talking about a person and not the food.” Bobbing her nose; the life long trick. That small and simple gesture was enough to brighten up her day. No idea why though. I saw her smiling when dad did it once and decided to try it out when she was down. She gestured to the Slytherin table. “What? You afraid of snakes now Will’s?” She frowned at me, not something I saw very often, I get the glare and the death look – but never the frown. “Lorcan’s there. Why isn’t he sitting with the Ravenclaws’ like usual? With his brother?” “Maybe because he’s a Slytherin?” I offered shyly. “I realize that Scorp.” She said innocently. “I just don’t particularly want to deal with him right now.” My brows furrowed. “What’s he been doing? If he’s laid a hand on y-“ “No, no, god no.” She blushed a little; so cute. “He’s just been, a little … borderline stalking.” I grinned. “Scorpius, this isn’t funny, his teeth are brighter than he is!” “You’re right, I’m sorry. It’s just – I realize that you lot think that he’s a fittie and all, but he’s a right git.” She feigned a look of disgust. “You don’t think I know that.” She shuddered. “Yesterday, he strides up to me and goes; Chambers, you’re lookin’ fine, so, my place or yours.” I tried to smile at her impression of Scamander, but could only seem to express my horror at his sexual attraction to baby Wills, she’s only 17. “Scamander,” I growled throatily. “So what did you say?” She grinned at me and blew a stray hair out of her eyes “I said both.” I arched a brow. “I said I’d go back to my Common Room and he could go back to his sty, to converse with his own kind.” My body shook with laugher as Willa giggled thoroughly. She tickled my stomach a little as we walked through the doors and poked me hard in the shoulder with her index finger. She may be small and gorgeous – but she’s not given nearly enough credit for her wit. She’s bloody brilliant when she wants to be. “So, Scorp.” She started innocently, as I slid my arm around her waist, making her clumsily fall in to my stride. “You think Scamander’s a fittie? Do we need to discuss this? I’ve always wondered about you, like this morning in Ancient Runes – even Rose thinks…” Her voice trailed off knowingly. “Oh sod off.” She laughed at my scowl before poking me with her fork after we sat down. Rose and Willa would usually sit at the Slytherin table, not all Gryffindor’s are too happy with our constant presence – but they usually don’t mind too much. The house unity since the Battle of Hogwarts has increased by a landslide. It wasn’t until years later that someone finally realized that the Gryffindor’s and Slytherin’s aren’t all too diverse after all. The Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs are still closer with each other – but at least the Gryffies and the Snakes aren’t torturing each other anymore. When you look around the great hall – the reds and greens are usually mixed with the bronze, blues and yellows. Not something you would have seen 20 years ago. Willa grinned at me. “So when’s the big game?” Of course she would ask about Quidditch, she hates the game but somehow still manages to make an effort for me. She refers to the Keeper’s hoops as ‘polos in sticks’. Al slapped her for that one in first year. We’re playing against Ravenclaw soon; their House Team is one of the best – better than ours if I’m truthful. I thought for a moment. “A month – Albus has us working like dogs.” “I’m sure you’ll do fine.” She reassured me. She thought for a moment and then shrugged. Ravenclaw; agile seeker, speedy chasers and two beaters that have that between them, have the strength of 10 men. They were going to whoop are arses. But none of that is even remotely in the same league as their keeper – bloody troll. Not too full in the looks department, and his teeth may be brighter than he is – as Willa would say - but put him on a broom and stick him in front of polo’s on sticks … and he’s unbeatable. How did the prat even get in to Ravenclaw? Last year he asked me if Hippogriff has 3 f’s or 4. If I remember correctly, Willa answered that one while I held back a belly laugh. Willa ran her index finger along the rim of her goblet, smiling as she did so. A tiny sound could be heard from the goblet – like Muggles do with their wine glasses. Her fingers graced the top once more, allowing a short sound to be heard. Her touch was so light – it always was. “You realise that your goi-“ I began, but was interrupted by Lorcan Scamander. He sat down next to Willa, squishing himself in tightly, his shoulder brushing with hers. I acknowledged him, something he doesn’t deserve “Hello?” “Malfoy.” He nodded. His eyes travelled from a quick glance to my face to the top of Willa’s head – he wasn’t able to see anything else as she had placed her head on to the table and was repetitively bashing it, her necklace clanging on her empty plate. The table shook a little. We sat in silence, a staring match between Slytherins, and a small and constant banging noise adjacent to me. My chest rose and harshly fell as I stared down the brown haired bollock-er (as Rose had once called him) in a sad attempt that he would leave. I wanted noting more than to shout at him, to lunge across the table and rip his eyes from his sockets. The way that he stared at my baby, the way his eyes travelled along her skin – I’ve seen it, I know what he’s thinking. I know what he’s thinking because that used to be me; eyeing up the innocent girls before taking them for a quick shag. I matured, he obviously did not. “So Willa.” He cooed; addressing her like she was a child as she smashed her head lightly downward. “You fancy skipping dinner?” “No.” Bash. “You sure?” Bash. “Yes.” Bash. “Yes?” “No.” Bash. “No?” Bash. “Yes.” “Ye-“ Bash. “Fuck off.” Willa would have said, but probably slightly more politely. Except, those words didn’t come from her mouth – they came from mine. She looked up from the table, her blue eyes pleading with me for an exit. Lorcan Scamander is the school’s prat. He used to be in with Albus and myself, but then he developed a crush on Will’s. It used to be funny, but now it’s just really not. I stared at Lorcan’s face, dim crease lines slowly appeared in his temple as he glared. He was desperate for Willa to notice him. He was a little furious; I could see Willa’s anxiety squirming throughout air. “What was that Malfoy?” I glared darkly. “I told you to eff off. I don’t want you near Willa, I told you that last year.” He shrugged. “I guess you weren’t clear enough.” Lorcan crossed his arms as Will’s sat up straight and knocked her bracelets up and down her wrist a little. I could tell she wasn’t going to let me handle this. The urge I was fighting not to punch him was so high it almost- “Lorcan, could you please move up a little.” She requested in a quiet voice, interrupting my thoughts. “I have no room.” “But my dear, neither do I.” He smirked, gesturing to the three empty spaces next to him. “I would if I could …. You know me.” “Yes, unfortunately I do.” She said still holding his eye with her own. “I know you well enough to know that you are an insufferable pig of whom I want nothing to do with.” A third year sitting near to us snickered. Lorcan’s eye’s flashed as he made a swift motion towards the kid. “She wants me.” He announced, causing a sigh of aggravation to come from Willa. She’s usually a rather tolerative person, but upset her – you’ve just dug your own grave. She smiled at me apologetically, my expression softened from my unintentional scowl – but not by much. “Are you sure, you don’t want t-“ “I swear Scamander.” She pleaded. “If you don’t leave me alone I’ll report sexual harassment and I’ll write I’m a rapist on your forehead in felt tip.” “Felt tip? never mind. I'll tell you what we could do,” he offered. “We could make the fabric softener and snuggle?” “What you talking about?” Al asked energetically, appearing from nowhere and squishing himself in-between the pair. I scoffed and Willa laughed as Lorcan irritably and reluctantly shuffled up a seat. Al was his Quidditch Captain, one wrong move and he’s lost his Chaser position, even he’s intelligent enough to notice that. “You ok Wills?” Rose asked quietly, swiftly moving in to the seat next to me, brushing her skirt under her bum before sitting down. Albus was quiet for a moment and I wondered if he was glaring at Lorcan, but he wasn’t, he was watching Willa. I’m slightly worried that there’s something going on between the two of them. He hates Lorcan almost as much as I do – and I’m talking fiery-pit-of-hell type death to Scamander hate, not just I dislike the prat. They were practically rolling on top of each other in the train carriage, then there always being secretive – Willa never keeps anything from me. It’s just odd is all. But I guess she could do worse than Al, but I’d still never allow it, I know what Al’s like. It’s probably nothing. “Oi Scorp.” He said with a punch to my shoulder and a mouthful of mash potato. “Yes Albus.” I answered, wiping the chewed potato from my face and ignoring the mocking looks from the girls. I bit my lip as Rose smiled at me. That smile makes my heart stop. Albus gestured with his hand to wait while he chewed and scratched his chin. “What have you got planned on Friday?” I blinked. “Uh, homework? I guess.” “No you haven’t.” I rolled my eyes, what ever scheme Albus would come up with to get us in trouble I would so …. totally be 100% interested. “Were having a campfire.” Rose blinked, placing her fork on to the table. “Huh?” “You know.” Willa said. “Like the ones we used to have, I thought it would be a nice idea, seeing as it’s the last Friday of September and all.” “Willa brought it up last period, when you and Rosie were arguing, I rather like the idea.” I nodded. “Yeah, I’m game.” Willa smiled and looked at Rosie, who looked a little unsure. “I miss the old woody smell.” “But what about Professor Longbottom?” She said sheepishly. “He caught us all last time, remember?” Albus laughed. “Yeah, and then began dancing along with the rest of us and camped out by the fire for the night.” Willa sniggered. “Yeah, we bribed him for his secrecy with half melted marshmallows.” “Really?” she asked, raising a brow a little. “I don’t remember that.” Willa smiled at the memory. “That’s because you walked off, not allowing yourself to be caught, you went back to the dormitories while we camped out. You’ve got to remember that. You got all annoyed because you thought that I had broken my purity and slept wit-“ Willa grunted as Rosie punched her square in the chest. It was obviously a shut up punch, they’re different from the I hate you punch and the you’re such a laugh; you’re my best friend punch. Albus laughed as Rose glared. “Yes, I remember now. Thank you Willa.” Willa held her hands up in to the air as if to surrender, her eyes gleaming with a little mischief. “Well I for one can’t wait.” She giggled. “For old time’s sake let’s hope that Albus doesn’t loose his trousers this time.” Al blushed and argued. “Ok, that was a total accident!” “Hagrid sure didn’t think so.” Willa responded, high fiving Rose with an oh you got so totally burned let me click my fingers and glare like a twat look; ending the conversation with a hair flip and a bump to Albus with her shoulder. An; What did you think? Second chapter, too long, too short? Just right? I realize that not much happened here, but it was mainly a filler for the next chapter. Trust me, the wait is worth while. So ... here's a little preview ... Pretty please leave me a review. I'll even take one worded ones, like good, bad, ugly. heck I'll even take cheesecake. Oh and PS, the mention of homosexuality is meant no offence by it, if it causes offence, I really am truly sorry. ![]() Beautiful Chapter Image by Shlesha @ tda. Lorcan and Xander :) Willa Chambers The sunlight was standing on its last legs as it peaked through the window pane of the Gryffindor Tower girl’s dormitories. Rose growled from under the covers of her bed, pushing herself further under the red blankets. I shifted my weight from the front of my feet to the back and listened to the bogus snores erupting from underneath the mess of blankets. I took a deep breath as I spun my wand between my fingers. “Rosie, you’ve got to come out.” I pleaded. “I’m not going to this campfire on my own.” “Yes you can, and you will.” She moaned her muffled voice sound a little more timid than before. “I can’t do this without you.” I said, parking my bum on to the end of her bed and rooting through the layers of blanket. “Come on Red, please? I don’t want to deal with Lorcan. He’s going to follow me like a lost puppy. I need back up.” She kicked her legs up, prompting me to tumble to the floor. “Call in the reinforcement’s of the gruesome twosome, they’ll protect you.” “Rosie, it does not look that bad, a little magic and you’ll be back to normal.” I reassured. She peaked the top of her head from the mass of duvets, revealing a puff of blue. “You promise?” I nodded. “I promise. Come on, let’s get to work.” She pushed the covers down a little, revealing a mass of sapphire upon her head. I bit back a smile. “See, you’re laughing. I knew it looked bad.” I mentally smacked myself. “Rosie, sweetie, it doesn’t look that bad, come on ... please?” I drew a deep breath and puffed up the clumps of thick hair currently infesting her head. Tina Zabini is probably one of the biggest tarts on this side of the Western Hemisphere, and she just so happens to be infatuated with Scorpius. Towards the end of forth year, when the male population actually started to notice that Rose Weasley was infact a woman; it didn’t abide well with TZ. It was when Scorpius decided to turn himself around that Tina began to convert to slag’s ville. Scorp used to sleep with anything that could walk, talk and have a vagina – whoops, that’s an understatement, they didn’t need to have the ability of speech; just a vagina. He soon developed a crush on Rose – despite all odds. He’s possibly the most protective male on the planet; and in his eyes, he’s been assigned to Rosie. Obviously, this didn’t abide well with Zabini. Since that moment in time, she’s taken it upon herself to make Rosie’s life a living hell. During the first week in sixth year, Rose fought back, landing herself and Zabini in 3 months worth of detention – not something her father was overly pleased about. But Tina took that as a challenge, always pushing Rose to see how far she would fall. In today’s case –turning her hair a violent shade of blue. “No.” Rose said cheekily, shoving back the blankets and meeting my gaze. “Fix me,” she pleaded. I nodded and stared for a moment. Rose never voiced to anyone how much it hurt. Zabini’s cruel tricks and harsh words replayed over and over in her head, like a broken music box with an everlasting charm cast upon it. I could tell sometimes that the bulling was so intense that she found it unbearable to breathe. It only happened when she was alone – so between the four of us, we did everything in our power not to allow it to progress even that far. But it’s hard. I nudged her playfully. “I think that you should leave it, work it like the model I know you are and show Zabini what you’re made of.” She blinked; expression blank. “Or not, whichever’s fine.” She groaned, trying to push herself away from me. “No, no, Rosie. I’m sorry … again.” “You should be.” She responded. “So can you can fix it?” She asked me for the fifth time since we entered our dormitory. I nodded, not vocalizing any of my thoughts on what I actually though her hair appeared similar to. I was too quiet and Rose knew it, she glanced at me subtly. “Fixing!” I chimed, blowing my blonde fringe out of my eye line. If I was perfectly honest, I had absolutely no idea what I was doing – but I figured it couldn’t get any worse. I clicked my tongue while she raised her eyebrows. I was planning to use a dying charm from Witch Weekly and see if that would cover it up, but I was still unsure of the colour it would produce. What I would not be explaining to Rose is that I found the charm between and advert for an eyebrow wax and a Muggle drug helpline. I cleared my throat, putting my fist to my mouth as I did and spoke, “Saetarutilus.” Rose squealed as a puff of smoke came from her head as a similar sound to a camera flash rang through the room, echoing off of the walls. “Shit Willa. My head’s tingling!” She cried, shooting from the bed towards the bathroom. “CHAMBERS!” I shared an all knowing look with my reflection, realizing that this could be the last time I see my face in tact for a while. “Look what you did!” I stood in the doorway, leaning against the frame. A slim figure stood, leaning over the sinks, and running her fingers loosely though her slightly unnaturally-red locks. Her hair was a little darker than before – the red a little more on the bright side than the brown. I knew that Scorpius would hate it; he loved Rose just the way she was; without the extra attention needed. Her locks were thicker on top, leading to small swirls towards the bottom; I guess she wasn’t used to having a smile. She closed her mouth with a huff. “Will’s, I think I actually like it.” Her loose touch turned to an affectionate stroke as she twisted her locks through her fingers. She squealed and clapped her hands, jumping up and down on the spot. “You, Chambers, are a genius!” I crossed my arms. “I do what I can.” Rose was still staring at me, a little expectantly. “So where did you find that charm. Between the bikini wax and the alcoholic’s anonymous adverts in Witch Weekly?” “No.” I said anxiously – and maybe a little too quickly. She raised a brow. “Sure.” She wrapped her jumper around her body a little tighter and walked over to the bed. She pulled the hem of the hoodie over her knees as she pulled them to her chest. “So.” She began. “Do you think that Scorpius … maybe … likes anyone?” I dropped my wand, tripping on the hem of my cloak. That was a big subject change. “Huh?” “I mean, he’s been acting a little weird is all.” “W … weird how?” I stammered. She picked up Batman – who had just slyly snuck in through the open window and plodded to Rosie, purring like a fiend. “I mean, he doesn’t argue with me anymore. I miss being able to call him a twat and not feel guilty after wards.” My eye’s widened. “He waved at Zabini the other day, he looked happy. Do you think he likes her?” “I can assure you that he doesn’t like Zabini.” My voice was low. “Trust me.” “I will.” She sighed. “Is it reasonable to feel left out though? I can feel the anger boiling up inside of me when he talks to Tina. Like I want to claw her eyes out.” She scratched between Batman’s ears. “-and when he does that stupid smirk.” My jaw dropped to the floor. “Rosie.” I cooed. “Are you jealous?” “What?” She exclaimed. “I’m Rose Weasley, I don’t get jealous.” I felt a strain in my temples as I rubbed them lightly. There was no way this was going to be easy. Getting Scorpius and Rose together was going to be like getting Daffy Duck to admit his feelings of love for the Wiley Coyote. I snuck a glance at Rose, she wasn’t concentrating. Her gaze was cast towards the window – while absentmindedly stroking my lazy kitty. “Rosie, are you sure? Rose … ROSE!” I exclaimed; accompanied by a thrown shoe that clonked her on the head. “Ow – jeez Willa. Yes, I am bloody sure.” She rubbed her temple, scrunching her hair as she went. I had been watching Rose of late. When Scorpius conversed with a girl or smirked at someone that wasn’t her – her cheeks would flush scarlet. Tina would throw her head back and laugh as her would allow her to hang from his arm like a monkey. “Rose, if you do-“ “Well, I don’t.” I sighed. “Yes, but if you do – no, don’t interrupt me yet – If you ever do, its ok. You two would be good for each other. It might hit a little closer to home than you think.” “What’s that supposed to mean?” Her voice was questioning yet somehow still soft. “Think about it Red.” I teased, laughing a little carelessly. Rose was rather defeated. Her smile grew as she pulled me down beside her. “So, what exactly are we wearing to this little gathering?” I don’t know, but she’s wearing something extra eye catching. I spotted a loose leaf and jumped on it, letting it crush beneath my feet. When I had begun Hogwarts, Scorpius was my only friend – mainly due to the fact I wouldn’t allow it any other way, he couldn’t get rid of me; trust me, he tried. Most students gawked at Al and Rose, them being the children of The Chosen One’s and whatnot. I befriended Albus quickly, blowing up a cauldron in to his face and landing us both in to detention. Rose, being Rose, managed to create her first argument with Scorpius on the Hogwarts Express – they were getting an early start. Due to her hatred of Scorp, I refused to talk to her until April, when Tina and I got in to an argument and Rose saved my butt. Tina ended up in the Hospital Wing while Rose and I spent the night in Hagrid Hut, escaping trouble. We’ve been inseparable ever since. “I’m going to kill him if he mentions it.” Rose panted her voice weak from loss of air. We skipped down the stairs towards Hagrid’s Hut – the Campfires were always just along and down from that; closer to the lake. I embraced the steam of the shower, allowing the droplets to pound my back; massaging my aching muscles. But this was all earlier – My routine was interrupted by a shrieking Rose. She had lost her jumper, and by her jumper, I mean Albus’s. It’s always been that we wear the boy’s jumpers – Rose: Albus and I: Scorpius – mainly due to her refusal to oblige to wear his. She wished to borrow the jumper of Al’s of which I own. She stamped her foot like a child from a movie and dropped my cat when I explained how it was in the wash. Which is why she is jumping down the cobbled steps wearing a Slytherin Quidditch jumper of which read’s MALFOY paired with dark wash jeans. I said something eye catching after all. In reality, this so called POTTER jumper is stuffed in between my Armani jeans and Juicy Couture cardi. If I tell her – I will die. But Scorpius will be happy. “Don’t kill him.” I scolded as I panted lightly for air. “It’s not advisable due to the fact that he’s obviously going to point it out, maybe not to you though.” “But to everyone else?” I kicked a pile of leaves at Rosie as I hopped over a small wall. “Probably.” She blew one from her mouth, looking a little disgruntled and joined me on the other side of the slated wall. Campfires in the Forbidden Forest were always a little risky; especially as were known to stay up until sunrise. Nevertheless, it’s our tradition. In third year Al and I were in Care of Magical Creatures when we were approached by a centaur. When Hagrid approached the two of us, entrusting us with the task of collecting Unicorn hair for the lesson; we decided to alternatively spend the hour conversing with the Centaurs. They suggested that we spend more time in the forest, hence, the beginning of the tradition. Over the years, the number of our peers that attended increased. The more the merrier; Albus would always say. “Rosie.” I began, taking her hand as we walked through the pumpkin patch. “Do you think that Lorcan actually like’s me for me?” She swung our hands high. “Honey, I think Lorcan is a desperate twat who is looking for a good shag.” I blinked. “So why did he choose me?” “Willa. You’re everything that he wants … and everything that he can’t have.” She said softly. “But why didn’t he go for you? Or Zabini? Or Albus?” There was no traces of excitement or adventure when I spoke, only regret and suspense. She laughed, she actually laughed. “Well, I would have punched him in the face – you’re too nice. Zabini is an easy cow, there would be no challenge … and, well, Albus sorta speaks for himself.” She bumped me with her hip. “You’re a chase, I guess.” “Bloody Scamander.” I muttered. “Go jump in a hole.” “You’re cheery.” Her voice was quiet, her body a silhouette against the moon. Her eyes were drooping, like she was tired, typical Rosie, can’t stay up past midnight – even on New Years. Her hair was tied up in to a loose bun, the brighter colour a little more noticeable than before in the moonlight. “I’m always cheery.” I chimed, smiling like a child. Rose smiled. “Do you think that Albus is going to get his trousers stuck on to the top of Hagrid’s Hut again?” I snorted. “I hope so; I remember McGonagall’s face when she found them early next morning.’ “She thought Hagrid had been ‘inappropriate’ with some of the students!” Our bodies shook with giggles as Scorpius ran up to us from behind, busting between us and throwing his arms around our shoulders. “What ‘cha giggling about?” Rose’s eye roll was visible from a mile away. His brows furrowed at her hair, of course he would notice it. “Al’s trouser lossage.” I said, head butting his head lightly with my own, pulling him away from Rose … though I didn’t miss the eye roll. He seem’s to have this idea that something is going on between Al and me. He even confronted Albus in the Great Hall yesterday, causing Lorcan to lean over the table and prod Albus with his fork. I could feel Scorpius still smirking beside me. “Ah, good times, good times McGonagall retrieved them with a fish hook. So Red, congrats on dear old dad!” “What about him?” Scorpius’s eye’s widened. “You don’t know?” We shook our heads. “He got promoted. In the Auror world, he’s second in command or sommin’.” He did a weird little hand movement. “Dad told me a few hours ago, stupid owl face-dived in to the cereal bowl during dinner, of which you missed by the way!” Rose had coincidentally refused to attend dinner, mainly due to the dead blue animal that was nesting on her head at the time. My brows furrowed. “Why wouldn’t he tell you Rosie?” “A letter will probably arrive in the morning mail.” She spoke quietly. I could hear she was a little disappointed that she had found out from Scorp rather than her own father. But who wouldn’t be? “Hey, don’t be down.” He assured caringly, throwing his arms around Rosie and picking her up from the ground. She laughed a little - a grin appeared on Scorpius’s face. Usually she would have knocked him out with some sort of penis shrinking hex; I could tell that the laugh was unintentional. It was so strange to hear them talking without consequences. Whether or not it’s just a happy evening, or my suspicions are correct and Rosie does like Scorpius – it’s going to be an interesting night. I nodded along with their conversation, my mind drifting off elsewhere. We walked towards the small opening, created by the lads years ago for our very first Camp-out. It’s a small odd-shaped gap in the tree’s overlooking the curve in the Black Lake. Last year the squid even made an appearance, knocking someone in to its depths. It was a small gathering tonight, the best crowd in my opinion. Only seventh years attend, it’s widely known that no one else is welcome. Henry Shacklebolt stood by the fire, melting a marshmallow and his free hand around the waist of his girlfriend. I had Ancient Runes with Henry last year; he’s really somewhat amusing to talk to. A few girls that I recognized stood leant up against a tree to the far right along with a gathering of boys from a selection of Quidditch Teams to the left. Tadd Finnegan was sat by the fire on one of the few logs, accompanied by his guitar – that boy really was a whizz. I brushed the dirt from my bare legs and walked over to Albus, I ignored any kind of hello, how are you, and pulled him straight away from the girl he was chatting up behind a tree. I wouldn’t have noticed him usually, but his butt was sticking out from behind the willow. “Uh, Will’s. I was sort in the middle of something there.” I fiddled with the ends of Scorpius’s jumper with my finger tips. “I realise.” He shrugged. “But I was flirting; you know never to interrupt me when I’m flirting” “You’ll live.” I reassured, thinking for a moment before shrugging. He laughed at my expression. “You’re weird. So how can I help you this fine evening?” “Rose and Scorpius are a twosome and I feel alone.” “And so you felt obliged to find me?” He grinned. “Yes, I did. You’re a prince Albus - a rather flirty and man-whore like prince, but still royalty.” He scowled and turned back to his girl of the evening. “Hang on.” He turned back to me. “Did you just say that Rose and Scorpius are together?” I nodded. “Their together and there’s no corpses for us to dispose of?” I nodded once more. It was his turn for the quizzical expression. “I have to see this.” He explained, his eyes glowing emerald with mischief, a look that I am rather comfortable with. Taking me hand we jogged towards the fire and ducked behind a log. Tadd began to strum his guitar. It was a proper Campfire bash. “See.” “I thought Rose’s hair was blue?” He practically shouted. My hand flew to his mouth as I pushed him further behind the log. “Wait a bloody minute – its red. What did you do?” He added accusingly. I jabbed him with my finger. “It’s a little something called magic Albus. I believe you’re somewhat acquainted with the subject … being a wizard and all.” He shook his head. “They actually look … happy? And she’s wearing your Malfoy jumper.” “I guess.” “So, not Scorpius’s little favorite anymore there Will’s?” Albus said cheekily, matching my posture. I slumped down against the log and kicked off my tattered shoes. “I haven’t been his favorite in a while.” He nudged me with his leg playfully, nearly knocking me over with his keeper strength. “Yes you have – he could marry the Queen of Muggle England and he’d still choose you over her. Just like you would for him.” “Considering the Queen is like, older than McGonagall. I seriously doubt that Scorp – or I - would go for that?” The corners of his mouth twitched with laughter as he pondered what that would be like. I stared at him, unblinking. “Do you think that he would choose Rose over the Queen?” “Or McGonagall?” he said in a bored tone. “I think he’d jump off a cliff if Rose wanted him too.” Al scratched his chin nonchalantly. “He is rather impressionable isn’t he?” “Not really.” I groaned. “I mean, most people don’t like him, they just fear him.” Albus held on to my shoulder tightly, making me look at Scorpius. “Do you honestly think that people fear … that?” Scorpius and Rose were sitting on a log, laughing together as Scorpius pushed a stray hair from her eyes. He looked so calm – so, peaceful. Rose was sitting with her legs crossed and her fingers entwined with another. We watched Scorpius’s lips move as he spoke. You could tell his words were cheeky. Tadd’s song rang through the camp, his voice was admirable. That was widely known. His father Seamus Finnegan went to school with Harry. They’re still quite good friends. Upon entering the Common Room late at night you can hear Tadd playing sometimes – it’s usually on a Saturday. “No.” I slowly admitted, ducking behind the wood as they glanced over together. “But wait until one of the other guys mentions what they think of Rose and then the Hulk will appear.” “The Hulk?” I laughed. “You are such a mamma’s boy.” “Am not.” “Are too.” “Am not” “Are too.” “Am not.” “Am not.” “Are too – shit.” He said exasperatedly. “I hate you sometimes.” I pulled back from his grip. “Hate is a very strong word.” “Aw, don’t turn all hippy of me Gryff.” I pushed him lightly to the floor. “Well, what would you know … snake?” “What is this? Foreplay?” He asked, raising an eyebrow and still lying on the floor. “Cause it’s turning me on a little Will’s. I gotta be honest with you!” “You’re such a twat sometimes Al, you know that?” I chuckled, for once I meant it. “And a little scary too.” “Stay away from dark and secluded places this evening Willa.” I looked at him in surprise. “Why?” “Cause, they’re gunna be occupied!” He winked before scrambling from the floor and following a leggy girl wearing hot pants. Typical. Long gone was the shy and timid eleven year old that I befriended. It was around somewhere during forth year when he discovered that girls aren’t actually yucky and began to indulge. Last week Rose and I interrupted a love fest between his and a brunette happy-go-lucky Ravenclaw going at it in the dungeons. People have a tendency to bask in the fame of the Potter’s. They attempt to latch on to Albus – and James when he was here. Lily get’s the majority though, some attempting to befriend her, others; well you get the gist. I slumped out from behind the log, ignoring the insect infested holes in the wood and stood. I slapped the dirt from my legs once more, regretting the choice of denim shorts for the evening. “Apart from being sexy Chambers, what do you do for a living?” My heart pounded in my chest. I was suddenly incredibly aware of every nerve in my system. Before being able to process my posture, he was next to me, running a finger lightly over my shoulder suggestively. “I’m a female impersonator.” I snapped, shoving his hand from my shoulder, shivering from disgust under his touch. “Oh, feisty.” Lorcan purred. “Just the way I like ‘em.” “Ok. Scamander. ‘Them’ have names. They are girls, just like I am.” I explained. “Girls are human beings – I suggest that you being treating them like one.” My feet traveled on their own towards the fire. Unsurprisingly, he followed. I had no idea what I expected myself to do upon reaching the flames – maybe push him in? “You know.” He began. “That angry and slightly psychotic look that you get in your eye is kinda sexy.” “Oh trust me.” I spat sourly. “I save it especially for you Lorcan.” I meant that. He flung his arms around my waist, pulling me in to him so I stood on my tip toes. “How about we go and find a secluded area of the forest?” “We can’t, they’re taken.” I sighed and attempted to release myself from his grasp. Upon failing – I fell limp. “Please release me?” “Uh, no? And about the forest – I don’t mind sharing.” He whispered in my ear, his hot breath tickling my neck and making little hairs stand on end, still latching on to me roughly. Lorcan is the same age as Scorpius, Al and Lysander – his twin. No girl can pass without being able to fawn over him. He’s rude ad conceded and still the girls of Hogwarts swooned in his wake – I’m sure even the Professors. But with me it’s different. Whenever he’s around, a biter taste runs through my mouth and I want to regurgitate the contents of my stomach. His attention wasn’t someone’s that I strived for. “Well I do.” I snapped. “You better watch yourself Scamander, because my friends are watching you. Albus has lived through Ginny Weasley’s temper, Rose, her fathers and well, Scorpius is sort of self explanatory. All it will take is a little scream, or tiny tear – they will rip you to shreds.” Tadd played the music louder as students began to scream and dance with an eccentric amount of energy. “I’d like to see them try.” He challenged. “Potter’s off shagging a prostitute and Weasley and Malfoy are pretty infatuated with each other tonight, a little strange isn’t it?” I blinked. “I bet I can kiss you without touching your lips.” … “Huh?” His body was pressed to mine, sending a sickening feeling to spread around my body. His lips embraced mine forcefully with a rapid speed. My stomach turned uncontrollably as my hands attempted to push him away. “Get off.” I screeched in to his lips, pushing him with all the strength I could muster. His lips fell back to conquer my own. I head butted him with my temple, hitting him straight in the eye and dug my nails in to his arm. I closed my eyes and waited for the hell to come. It never did. I felt his arms release me and I fell to the ground with a thump, landing in the used ashes from the fire. I opened my eyes. Lorcan was cowering on the ground, clutching a bloody nose. Tadd, having dropped his guitar, was standing, fists clenched. “Touch her again and you’ll be sorry Scamander!” His voice scared me. Lorcan was stammering excuses as he stood up. He turned to me. “I guess I lost the bet.” His tone was bored, his expression nonchalant; a little annoyed at the bloody flowing from his nose. He flicked his hand, sending the bloody flying from it to the floor as he stormed away. Leaving me on the ground, a tear trickled from my eyes and down my cheek. “Willa, are you ok?” Tadd asked; concern riddled in his voice. A few people looked up as the music stopped, the camp quieter than preferred. I glanced around at the confused faces. Tadd blinked and kneeled down beside me, his face softened. “Willa?” I scampered from the floor, probably spraying Tadd with leaves as I stood, the tears flowing freely down my cheeks as I ran. The sight of the retreating figures of my worried friends broke the anxiety. The tears fell as my heart rate slowed. I felt safer alone in the Forbidden Forest than I did by the Campfire. Scorpius’s cries echoed through the wood. He was angry – he’s never been too good at hiding his emotions. Nor dealing with them. I ignored his cries for me and made towards the lake, following the glimmer of the moon. I sobbed quietly as I trekked, wiping my eyes with my wrist. It was widely notorious that Lorcan was a player – and I practically dwell with Scorpius, he’s a player. So why did it bother me so much when he kissed me? I had been anticipating it for a while. He was infatuated – he was in for the game. He wouldn’t stop until he get’s what he wants. Scorp advised me to keep my distance in fifth year; we shortly realized that possibly would be somewhat of a challenge. Lorcan is easily provoked. Ignoring him was always my best option. I sniffed and flexed my fingers. Lorcan’s hands had been all over my body, his lips on mine. His breath on my neck. I felt used, easy. I released a raspy scream and sobbed, raising my fist and smacking it against a tree’s trunk. Its branch swung from above and pushed me away. I stumbled and sniffed. “Sorry.” I offered, turned around and stumbling through the trees, my feet dragging a little. I had essentially dwindled to the position; I was having a discussion with a tree. My wiggles my toes, wondering to the whereabouts’ of my shoes. I stepped over a set of roots and climbed through rocks. The moon light shone upon the lake, reflecting its innocence. It rippled in the wind. If you looked close enough, creatures could be seen. Fairies, Fireflies, Grindylows, the Giant Squid; of which Albus so successfully named Brian in our forth year. I rubbed my arms back to warmth for a moment and ran my hands through my hair before mentally smacking myself. How could I be such a child? I was wearing a women’s sweater vest that was at least a size too big – it fell off of my shoulders revealing a white tank top underneath. Walking around the forest in the early hours of the morning - bare foot, short shorts and sweater vests. Not good. I picked up a small rock and threw it into the lake with all the strength I could muster. It landed not too far out with a light plop. An attentive voice befell from behind me. “Willa?” “No…no, you stay away from me!” I stammered earnestly. His eyes narrowed. “Excuse me?” I fumbled around for a moment for my wand before finally recollecting it was still on my bed. “Don’t take anoth-“ There was a battered copy of Pride and Prejudice in his grasp. I laughed a little ironically and slid down the rock, small tears flowing freely once more. “Xander, I’m sorry I thought-“ “I was my brother?” He smiled. “You’d be surprised how many times a day I get that … and by how many different women.” He sat down next to me in the dirt, leaving a small gap between the two of us. He put his arm around my shaking shoulders and held me still. “Willa, are you alright?” I nodded and looked up to him through teary eyes. “I’m fine.” He didn’t believe me. “Your brothers a git.” “I realized that early on in my life.” He grinned. “I think it was when he put my Action Man in the air vent of our kitchen.” The corners of my mouth twitched. His eyes travelled over my face for a moment, the beginnings of a smile appearing. “We were five, by the way.” “Of course.” “We were!” He reassured. I blinked. He sighed. “What did my brother do to you?” “Wait, you weren’t at the fire?” He shook his head. “I’ve been here all night, I love this spot. I sit by the rocks and look over the lake … It’s weird, I called to my friend Brian once and the Giant Squid appeared.” I bit back a smile. Bloody Albus – training a squid. “So, what did Lorcan do?” I shook my head. “It doesn’t matter.” “It does to me.” I smiled. “That’s nice to hear, but I’m not telling you. It’ll be all over the school by tomorrow anyway.” “You underestimate the power of your friend Scorpius. If he tells people to stop talking – they will.” Another tear fell. “He’s not that scary. Did he ever apologize to you?” Lysander’s expression was blank. “For the coffee shop, he was rude – oh, and thank you for catching me by the way.” “It’s fine.” He shrugged. “But, no. He didn’t apologize to me. It’s alright though.” “No, it’s not alright. I’ll bloody kill him.” He chuckled and patted his hand with his book. “Pride and Prejudice.” I read. “The classic love story.” He snapped from a daze and handed me the book. The blue cover was no longer; now a more unrealistic shade of purple. Pages were hanging by a thread and the writing – tiny. I crossed my legs infront of me, as did he. “A standard example of chivalry.” His bright eyes travelled over the text. I snorted. “Chivalry is dead … it has been for a while now.” “Chivalry is not dead, not in everyone.” I raised a brow. His voice was so deep – so soothing. “You can tell all the stories you wish, or you can be a complete dunderhead, whatever. But the best way to say our values and morals is through encouraging others. In reality, it does wonders for others.” I frowned. “I am yet to find an idiot that would hold open a door for me or leave me alone when you ask them to, for example. Chivalry is ostentatious and cliché. It’s outdated and has been lost through time. It would make a surprising antidote to what the heck is in everybody elses' heads today.” I looked up to him through teary eyes, he wiped my cheek. “It only depends on who you talk to. I think … that chivalry is around today more than ever.” He debated, nicking his book back. “People everywhere are rethinking the things that are important in their lives, rediscovering the virtues that it stands for. People can be chivalrous - take Superman for example.” I shook my head, “Xander, you’ve just resorted to Superman for a figure of chivalry, what does that say about our society. He’s not even real.” “Well, I believe in chivalry.” He shook his head and leant back closer against the rock. “Nothing undermines the value of it more then somebody who says to abide by the idea of it and doesn’t themselves.” The corners of his mouth twitched. “Well, if I ever meet one of these people. I’ll make sure that I don’t hold the door open for them.” I bit my lip and laughed. “You’re going to be doing a lot of slamming.” “I’m beginning to think that you have a problem with men.” He arched a brow, chuckling teasingly, as I put my head in to my hands. He closed the book with a quiet thump as a small smile etched across his face. I crinkled my nose. “Problem is an understatement.” “Can’t find a guy with dimples?” I raised my eyebrow and he laughed. “I do have the ability to inflict pain – that was not a cue for you to laugh harder.” Lysander is the same age as me, identical to his twin – they really are identical, but their personalities couldn’t be more different. I looked up as I smacked his arm as a punishment and locked with the most beautiful blue eyes I have ever seen, they caught me off guard. My heart fluttered, and then stopped. I laughed awkwardly as he looked away. He wasn’t paying attention. He was briefly glancing over his shoulder. It would be an understatement to say that the Scamander twins aren’t gorgeous, they are. Lysander is stronger – in a fight, he would probably win. He’s a one of the Ravenclaw beaters, Lorcan; Slytherin Chaser. Xanders tall. He’s broad shouldered and muscular – on the other hand so is my loyal and somewhat perverted stalker. I smiled at Lysander’s chiseled face, it’s hard not too. His face is gentle yet haunted. The debate has been repeated many times – Lysander or Lorcan? Most are torn. With Lysander, sweet, sweet Xander, you are more likely to get conversation. Lorcan on the other hand; a shag. Lysander’s beater twin, as he’s known, Brain Shay decided to announce late last year that Lysander has his eye on a secret someone. I had a suspicion it’s Rose. He’s always looking over – and Scorpius dislikes him. Although, to be honest, Scorpius dislikes most people. “Scorpius was wrong.” I whispered. Xander turned back to me, his arm still around my shoulders. “Sorry?” “I said, Scorpius was wrong.” I admitted thoughtfully. “You do have dimples.” He chuckled, slightly embarrassed. He smiled and subconsciously rubbed his neck. “I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to embarrass you.” He spoke blissfully. “You didn’t.” I blinked stupidly and pushed the rings around my fingers. I love rings – I have thousands. Rose say’s its weird, but Albus say’s he always knows what to get me for my birthday. I have two rings with the family emblem - a gift from my Grandmother. A silver ring placed on my right hand from Scorpius for my 16th birthday and my purity on my ring finger, it’s the one that separates me from the lads. They are the few that never come off. Other’s alternate. "So ... uh ... are you and, uh." ha stammered, I smiled and gestured for him to spit it out. "Are you and, uh, Albus?" "Me and Al?" I repeated slowly. "Are you kidding?" "Willa, don't laugh. it was only a question. Besides, everyone thinks it and you're wearing his jumper after all!" I blinked ... "Everyone thinks it? Well that will have to be rectified." He rolled his eyes. I smiled gleefully and shifted on the rock a little. Lysander stood up. “What are you doing?” I said, a little too quickly. “Being chivalrous.” He folded his arms and chuckled, his soft voice melting me in to a girly pool of mush. “I was hoping that you would accompany me back to the campfire, or sneak in to the kitchens with me.” He took my hands and pulled me up. “The choice is yours.” He ran his fingers through his hair and pulled me with him, making me clumsily fall in to his stride. “But I am not allowing you to sit by the lake on your own and sulk.” “Uh huh.” I giggled. “I could get captured by fireflies.” I added as I caught a handful and set them free. Lysander’s hand was resting on the back of his neck. “They’d return you.” My jaw dropped to the floor as I smacked him. “I see what you mean.” He said cheekily. “You really can pack a punch.” His tone was a touch sarcastic as he stopped and leant on a tree. “Willa, what happened to your shoes?” I blushed at the sight of my dirty feet and shrugged. “I think Al has them.” He tutted before taking his Ravenclaw scarf from around his neck and placing it delicately around mine. “I like the ‘Willa’ by the way.” He said quietly, referring to the small tattooed inscription on my left foot. I blushed. “Jump up.” “Excuse me?” He shook his head. “I’m carrying you back; you’re not walking without shoes. I’m a Ravenclaw; I know what’s on the floor of this wood!” “It doesn’t take a genius to work out the floor is a tasteful assortment of soil and poo.” I chortled. “I’ve already caused enough of a scene. I’ll hop back thank you very much!” “Really?” “No silly, I’m gunna walk.” He laughed and slowly sighed. I rubbed my forearms arms and stared blankly ahead of me. “You cold?” “Ish.” “Here.” He said automatically, taking off his Quidditch jumper – accidentally pulling his t-shirt up a little too - and handing it to me. “But won’t you be cold?” I blinked and gestured to his single t-shirt. He shook his head. “Nah, I haven’t been cold in years.” I scrunched up my nose and pulled the jumper over my head. It was the Ravenclaw equivalent of the lads sweaters – excluding the fact that the twins were broader than Albus and Scorpius, hence the size difference. I placed my hand on his arm and grinned. “Thank you Lysander … and I don’t mean just for this – I mean for everything.” “It’s no problem.” I smiled thankfully and took his hand in mine, squeezing it gently. “Willa!” Rose squealed, tackling me to the ground. “Oomph, Rosie!” I cried, shoving her off of me and picking leaves from my hair. She latched back on. “We were so worried.” Scorpius stormed over, fuming. “You-“ “Lysander.” “-are an angel!” He said, suddenly innocent. He flung his arms around Xander, hugging him tightly. “Thank you, thank you, thank you. You found baby Will’s. Thank y-“ “Release!” Albus ordered, yanking him back. He smirked. It was obvious that a hug was the last thing Lysander expected from The Scorpius Malfoy. “Thanks man.” He greeted, giving Xander a brief handshake. “Willa are you ok honey?” I nodded slowly. “Yeah, I’m fine. Where’s Tadd? I need to thank him. For what he did – is Lorcan ok?” My three friends dropped whatever they were holding and turned to face me with disgust. “Why?” Scorpius spat. “After you left he ran. Tadd and I chased him back to the castle but we lost him … he better not come back to the common room tonight!” My eyes widened. “Scorpius! You’re not going to hurt him!” “Why?” I glared, probably embarrassing myself more than necessary. If he attacked Lorcan, he would be no better than Scamander himself. “Ok, sorry. There will be no abuse.” Throughout the time that Scorp and I have spent together, he has realized that when the glare appears on my face; it’s just better to back off. A small miaow came from below as Batman twisted herself between my legs. I picked her up and hugged her to my chest, her paws on my shoulder. “Piss-tastic Will’s.” Scorpius laughed. “Did you really have to bring the cat down?” He addressed Rose. She shrugged. “You two treat that thing like a baby.” Albus informed me. “You and Rose are her parents.” Scorpius’s eyes scanned the crowd, probably looking for Lorcan. “And for the love of god why did you call a female cat Batman?” Rose echoed my stare, one hand on her hip. “Why not call a female cat Batman.” She took him from my arms. “Don’t listen to them baby.” She cooed holding the kitty’s face to her own. “Jesus Christ.” Albus said. All of the boys turning towards Rose. “That cat get’s more bloody attention than I do!” “Female attention?” I asked. Rose giggled. “Because I highly doubt that the cat wants to shag you.” Albus’s mouth fell open. “You are so immature.” He accused, seemingly baffled and walking away. Scorpius laughed as Albus glared, before looking a little put out. “Well I’m glad you’re ok.” He said sweetly, hugging me tightly and placing a kiss upon my forehead. “And if he touches you again – I’ll rip his head off.” “He’s not going to leave Lorcan alone is he Rosie?” I asked once Scorp has walked away towards Tadd. “I highly doubt it.” I giggled and suffered my feet across the floor before spotting my shoes behind a log. “Lysander-“ I began, “never mind.” I finished. He was watching my best friend throw Batman in the air. I parked my bum on to a log near the fire; three marshmallows stuffed carelessly on to my stick. I prodded the dying flames with the end and twisted it around. A blob of gooey mess dribbled from my twig. I wiggled my nose and retrieved my treats. Albus and Rose had wanted to go back to the castle after finding out that I was ok. The twist? Albus saw a big butted girl and Rose didn’t want to leave Scorpius who refused to leave until I did. The two of them have been sat on the same log for the past 4 and a half hours – no shouting. Tadd has gone through the complete artist’s album of songs at least 3 times and Lorcan has buggered off somewhere nice. “You know. Campfires aren’t as fun without company.” I jumped out of my skin before realizing the owner of the soothing voice was infact my savoir. “You wanna give me some?” He laughed. “Sure.” He climbed over the log, straddling it between his legs and facing me. My leg’s hitched up to my chest. “Check out the sunrise.” I whispered. “It’s pretty beautiful isn’t it?” He nicked a marshmallow from my stick and popped it in to his mouth, chewing slowly. “You’re a great cook you know that?” “I can do marshmallows – through years of forceful campfire training, alphabetti spaghetti and waffles.” I laughed, hugging his jumper tighter around my torso and tearing my gaze away from the waking sun. “You know how to live Willa.” he caught the drip of another marshmallow and wiped it along my cheek. I squealed as he laughed and shrugged innocently. I took my last ‘mallow and lightly slapped the melted goo to his mouth with a smile on my face. “Evil.” He muttered, biting the marshmallow from my hand, which was still mortifyingly stuck to his mouth. I dropped the stick to the floor as he stood once more. “Dance with me marshmallow face.” My heart fluttered once more at his touch as he pulled me from the log. “I wouldn’t have it any other way Prince of Chivalry.” He pulled me close, wrapping his arms around my waist. His touch was so gentle from his brothers – so caring, so light. The fire from his hands burnt through the jumper, little bombs exploding around my body, every nerve suddenly awake. Hidey Ho! Saetarutilus – translates to hair red in Latin. Disclaimer; Everything goes to JK Rowling – the genius behind all genius’! Rose and Scorpius :) Scorpius Malfoy Occasionally in life, one tends to have joyful little things known as disasters. They attack you from basically nowhere, hiding stealthily in the darkness, creeping in to your sights. Then just as everything begins to go well in your life, BAM, they poke you right in the eye. Most disasters are tragedies of natural threats and have negative effects on society. This one was in no way natural - this one was planned, planned by Merlin; twat. This disaster couldn’t be described as an earthquake, nor a flood, an accident, a fire nor explosion. This disaster, was total piss; brought on by a toss pot known as Tadd Finnegan. Did I mention that Merlin was a tosser? Willa hummed softly as she jumped down the moving staircase on an early Tuesday morning. We had decided to take the long route to the dungeons; mainly due to the general wanted avoidance of the area. “This is me.” She chimed, jumping from the bottom stair and entering the door that lead her to the grounds. Her blonde hair bounced as she walked. “Have fun. Hagrid’s still a little irritable though, so watch out.” She smiled. “I will, he means no impairment to me.” Another pair of trousers was found on Hagrid’s Hut after the fire. Although this time they didn’t belong to Albus – I have a feeling they’re Shacklebolts. I waved her off to her N.E.W.T Care of Magical Creatures class and began to hurry to meet Rose and Albus by Sluggy’s room. I yanked open the trap door to below and saw Rosie across the corridor. Her long red hair swayed elegantly behind her, tightly straightened and placed in an un-styled bun on her head, bobbing a little as she laughed. I ran my fingers over my shirt collar and climbed down the steps, skipping 2 at a time. “And the earthquake begins!” Al called, shaking the bottom of the wooden steps. They flew off of the ground and sent me tumbling to the floor. I groaned irritably from the floor. “Fuck off Albus!” “Someone’s a morning person.” He muttered to a rather dazed third year waiting to use the stairs. Willa drank all the coffee this morning, leaving me only one simple cup. “You make a wonderful riser too Al,” I said, escalateding from the floor. “I thought your moaning at 6am this morning was positively delightful … oh when you pushed Lorcan through the wardrobe door – the highlight of my morning.” He rolled his eyes and caught up with my long strides. Since the night of the campfire Lorcan has kept his distance from Al and me. The breaking of his nose was my favorite of the abuse he received. Conversely when he selflessly decided to eat the ashes from the pit of the fire - it did not by any means have anything to do with Albus or myself. Wink. Willa on the other hand has been delighted since the rape-kiss; happier than I have witnessed her in a while. There’s probably a logical and justifiable reason for that. I just, haven’t figured it out yet. I pushed open the classroom door, bumping Albus out of the way as I walked. Rose was sitting a few seats away from me, in an unusual seat. I raised my eyebrows at her as she shrugged and turned back towards the front of the room. She never sat at the back; she always sat with Al and me in the middle. She was next to Tadd. I moved down the aisle and slid in to my place next to Albus. Confusion etched over his face as he glanced at Rose. Albus scribbled a note to Rose that demanded the answer to her seating arrangement. Just Al finished the last word, Slughorn’s voice echoed through the enclosed room. “Good morning Class.” He boomed, clapping his hands with delight. If he wasn’t the Head of Slytherin House I would constantly be poking fun of his ponce-y-ness. “I’m glad you’re all here today, this shall be the beginning of a new topic. New partners shall be required – the person you are sat with shall do just fine.” Rose. As my mind began to drift a small yelp was heard from the back of the room. “Miss Weasley.” Sluggy asked concerned. “Are you alright?” She was obviously fuming, a little disgruntled. “I’m fine Professor, sorry for the interruption.” He nodded slowly, eyebrow raised, and returned to the chalk board. Rose was holding what appeared to be a paper ball in her hand. “I didn’t mean to smack her head.” Albus whispered. “I didn’t.” I snorted as Rose scribbled a reply, her hand dancing elegantly across the paper. He twisted his fingers. “Do you think she’s ang-“ He was cut off by the paper ball to his cheek. It bounced off and rolled across the table. I snickered, grinning like the Cheshire Cat, lightly banging my fist against the table to refraining my belly laugh from interrupting the Professor. Albus ruffled his hair, shaking his head and sending his stupid locks in to my face. Elvie for men does not taste as pleasant as it smells. I unwrapped the note page while Albus dramatically rubbed the side of his face, gathering attention from a blonde Hufflepuff - with great legs - to his left. How come you’re not sitting with us? S. X Cheeky bugger signed it from me. Nevertheless, she knew it was him. ‘Cause Tadd asked me to sit with him. Excuse me if I don’t want to talk about Pritchard’s legs all lesson. Ahh, Pritchard. That was Blondie’s name. I drew a small smiley face; Sluggy’s staring at you. He wants’ you Rosie, he wants’ you. S. X I knew that this would not amuse her in any way particular, but it amused me. I folded it in to a paper dove – something Willa has taught me to do – and sent it off in a true Chamber’s fashion, blowing it from my palm. “…and you have to make sure to stir three times clockwise before adding the Bezoar and Powdered Snare.” Shit. “What?” I asked Al as everyone rose from their seats, scraping noises attacking the floor. “Huh?” Al said, sending his gaze towards me. “Sorry, I was trying to see under Pritchard’s skirt. What are we doing?” I rolled my eyes as a book was slammed down in front of the two of us. “Due to the fact that I know neither of you were listening.” Rose scowled as she ran her fingers through her hair. “We’re making Oblivious Unction; created by Dr Ubbly – I said Ubbly not what ever you’re thinking Albus.” She corrected her cousin who was giggling away like a five year old girl – or Willa. “Once drunk it heals scarring left by thought, a bad memory or experience. The instructions are on the board.” She turned to leave before slamming the note down on to the table she hissed. “And that was highly inappropriate Scorpius. There was no need! It was incredibly embarrassing.” I snorted and folded the note up in to my pocket. “What did it say?” Albus asked. I shrugged. “Nothing that you’d be interested in.” Albus glared at me and huffed. I raised a brow and dodged his hand – aiming for my pocket. “Just tell me what it said. I’m curious.” I chuckled. “Curiosity killed the cat.” “Huh?” His brows furrowed together. “What cat? Oh shitting hell, is Batman ok?” A few people snickered and I could just feel Rose’s hand massaging her temples behind me. “Yes Al. Batman is fine.” I sneered. “It was a figure of speech. I’m going to go and get the Ashwinder Eggs, can you contain yourself until then?” I felt the strain in my head as I realised straight away that working with Albus was a daring task. I glanced towards Brian Tatsworth, the Ravenclaw beater. I saw him talking to Willa yesterday. He said something about the Giant Squid. I’m sure Albus named it once – my conclusion; that boy needs help. I reached in to the cabinet and opened the box that contained the eggs; I ignored the squirming movement of each one and took the closest egg to the top. Rosie was sat at her desk, shaking her head furiously with her arms crossed – a small smile over her beautiful face. I smiled and turned back to Al. He reached in to my pocket, pulling my trousers down a little! “What the hell?” I cried, dropping the box of eggs and sending them rolling across the floor. In his hand he held the note. I yanked my trousers back up and snatched the note back. “Albus are you insane? All this says is that Sluggy fancies Rose, Jesus!” I chucked the parchment in to the nearest cauldron, sending a small puff of smoke high in to the air. “…but make sure you set the burner at 100 degrees Celsius, or else—” Slughorn choughed and began to sniff the air. “What … What is that, smell?” Wheezy coughs could suddenly be heard throughout the classroom, smoke beginning to rise from a cauldron and envelop our bodies. My eyes filled with tears at the thickness of the fog. Albus began coughing desperately. Slughorn began shouting for order, picking up an Egg and placing it on his desk. “What is going on here?” I strained my eyes and witnessed out professor pulling out the piece of burnt parchment from the cloudy mist. A shady image of students began to appear. Albus waved his arms furiously towards me, gesturing for me not to say a word. Slughorn adjusted his crooked glasses. “Tatsworth? Bromswell? What is this doing in your cauldron?” Their faces were covered in ash. “I have no idea sir.” Tatsworth coughed. “It wasn’t in their to begin with.” Slughorn turned his gaze in my direction. “Why are you looking at me?” I sneered, shaking the smoke from my hair and placing the empty box on to the table. “Because, Mr Malfoy, it’s usually you that does these things.” Little Miss Blonde and leggy caught my eye and winked, I shivered a little. “Sir, that is completely and utterly unfair! You can’t accuse me of something like that.” “Well did you do it?” He asked, refusing to back down. “Yes! But that’s not the point!” I cried, running my hands roughly over my face and rubbing away the soot roughly – I really needed a shave. “Albus pulled my trousers down!” “Way to make me look good.” Albus hissed in my ear, smack me in the head with his text book. Professor looked a little startled. “What does that do with sabotaging someone else’s work? Or in this case everyone’s?” I glanced over at Rose hoping for an escape. She ran her finger over Tadd’s forearm and threw her head back laughing. He whispered something that looked suggestive. I felt my heart sink and every nerve in my body scream. I wanted to cry and rip off this guys head. He’s a twat, I’ve never like him. Not one bit! If I’m going down, I’m not leaving her with him. “Well, I don’t think that Rosie would want people finding out what’s on that note. She told me it was incredibly embarrassing.” She flushed scarlet and shot a look of fury towards me. I didn’t look at her gaze, I couldn’t. A few heads turned and Tadd shook off her touch. I smiled a little in achievement. “I believe that it even mentioned you Sir.” Albus announced, bobbing Pritchard up and down, who was by now sitting on his knee. Slughorn blushed, his face now matching Red’s new hair colour. “This is completely ridiculous!” he cried. “You will clean this mess up. All three of you!” He hissed, a finger towards me and Al and another, towards Rose. He turned and left the room, hopping over the rolling eggs and scowled as he slammed the door shut. Rose was muttering incoherently under her breath – probably planning my death. I sighed and looked back up towards Rose. She was sitting at the Gryffindor Table, she wasn’t alone. Her hand was once again perched on Tadd’s forearm and a big grin on her face. My eye’s flared as I watched them intimately communicate – he didn’t push her away. Her lips moved briefly and I saw him smirk; Git. Every so often she would laugh; a finger would be run down her arm. He leant forward and slowly pushed a loose hair from her face. My knife snapped in my hand. “Shit!” Albus said, removing the metal cutlery from my grasp. “We’re going to need Stainless Steel implements from now on apparently.” I unclenched my fist and dropped the handle, it landed with a clunk. “Look, Scorp.” Albus began. “You like Rose. It’s obvious, just ask her to Hogsmeade.” I’m guessing that Albus knows of my crush. I subtly glanced at the red haired angel. “I can’t, she would never go with me.” He snorted, shoveling another mouthful of mash potatoes in to his mouth. “I guess you’re right.” I blinked at his bluntness. “I mean, she’s having a good time with Finnegan.” “I hate that bastard!” “Only yesterday you were saying how much of a hero he is – he did save Willa after all.” Albus said, scanning the crowd, I presumed for his little leggy Pritchard. “Or,” he added. “We could just push him off a cliff.” My eyes widened. But the idea didn’t sound too bad right now. “I like it.” “But either of you hurt Rosie in the process and I’ll murder you both.” Albus sounded scary. I nodded. “I would never hurt her; not intentionally.” “You’re such a sap.” I scanned the tables in search for our forth member. Willa hadn’t been around too much lately – she’d been with Xander, which is where she was now. I miss my baby. She scrunched up her nose and I leant out to bob it, I couldn’t reach, she was two tables down. Albus laughed at me as I looked rather put out. Lysander Scamander – an obligatory psychotic jackarse – ‘ran in to’ Willa last Wednesday in the hall’s. Since then they just seemed to ‘click’. She’s spending time in the library with him, instead of me, she’s studding with him, instead of me. She’s bloody dossing with him, instead of me! He’s my ruddy replacement. Git. He was in the Gyrffindor Common Room the other day. Rose told me, before the whole Finnegan thing of course. Now she refuses to even comply with the simple act of looking at me; obviously communicating with me is completely absurd. As I am Scorpius Malfoy … and I am a monster. He just touched her hair! TADD FINNEGAN JUST TOUCHED HER HAIR! My mouth fell open. “What’s happening to our crew?” I cried, seemingly baffled. “Rose refuses to sit with me –“ “Can you really blame her after this morning?” “ – And Willa is sitting with the twin of Satin! And you can’t blame me. Finnegan is a man whore and Rose is only going to drag herself down by talking to him.” He blinked. “What, you mean like when she hangs out with you?” “I will severely hurt you Potter.” I hissed, staring blankly ahead of me at Rose. His expression changed automatically, he put his hands up in to a surrender. “Don’t kill the messenger!” “Huh?” He shrugged. “I don’t know, just something along those lines seemed appropriate for this moment in time.” I rolled my eyes; he really did embarrass himself sometimes. I made a face and rose from the table. “Scorp, where are you goin’?” “Rose.” I said automatically, stepping out from the bench and shoving my hands deep in to my pockets. Comparing the uniform of today from the one my father wore – todays has really slacked. Things vary from day to day to whether we’re wearing the proper school attire. The word ‘proper’ is of course used somewhat ironically as there is noting proper about the length of Rosie’s school uniform skirt. It drives me insane – the amount of bruises Al and I have been forced to inflict because of perverted males. Willa on the other hand seems to flick between dress to dress, knee socks and uniformed dungarees. Honestly, there is something wrong with that girl. “Hey Rosie.” I called, catching her arm as she left the hall. She spun round, her long hair landing in my mouth. At least she used a different shampoo to Albus. “What?” She spat. “What do you want? You here to embarrass me infront of a hall of people? Do you have another teacher that I can shag?” her hands shot to her hips. I shrugged innocently. “I’m sorry Rosie, I didn’t mean for it to go that far. I over reacted.” “Overreacted?” She echoed. “Over-bloody-reacted? Scorpius, that was one of the most embarrassing moments of my life!” “Well, you hang out with Al, Willa and me. You can’t exactly say that we haven’t embarrassed you before!” She groaned in frustration and turned away. I caught her arm again. “No, Rosie, wait. I’m sorry. I really am.” She blinked. “I’m fed up of you Scorp.” “I know.” I admitted slowly. “But I promise to back off and not drag you down anymore. I really am sorry.” She sighed reluctantly. “You’re such an arse. You think I’m just going to forgive you that quickly.” I shrugged. “I was kinda hoping.” “Well, I’m not, you’re mean, and silly, and stupi- No, don’t look at me like that!” She requested. “That look may work on Willa, and possibly Professor McGonogall, but it will not work on me.” She waggled her finger. “I am a grown woman; I will not tolerate stupid acts such as this!” I stuck my bottom lip out, pouting in only a way that a seven year old girl begging for candy floss could. “Please.” She sighed. “Ok, apology accepted.” We walked from the hall, I matched her strides. I knew she wasn’t really sorry; it would take her a while to really forgive me. But her saying that really just saves us a heck of a lot of time and effort. “And Rosie.” I began, nervously flicking my hair from my face. “I realise that this probably isn’t the best time. But … uhh. Do you want to go to Ho-“ “Oh Scorp!” She interrupted quickly. “I forgot to tell you. Tadd asked me to Hogsmeade!” she giggled childishly. “I’m sorry, I realise that I interrupted you but you know me – memory like a sieve, I’d forget to tell you.” We would have danced around like old time, except this wasn’t old times. This was now. And I wanted to kill a certain Gryffindor Chaser. “No, don’t worry.” I admitted. “I’m glad you did.” “So?” I repeated. “So?” “So what did you want to tell me?” She asked solemnly. I shook my head. “Oh it’s nothing important. Not compared to your news.” We made our way up to the sixth floor corridor. I haven’t walked Rosie back to the Gryffindor Common Room is so long. I walked Willa all the time. “Rose?” I asked, clicking my tongue a little “Why did you say yes to Tadd?” “Excuse me?” I could visibly hear Albus smacking his head against a wall. “I just meant, what does Tadd do to deserve your affections?” She sighed. “I don’t know. He’s sweet I guess – really nice. He’s on the Quidditch team, so I’ve known his for a while. And he saved Will’s, so I know he’s caring.” He’s also rude and haughty; but I’m not likely to tell Rose that. I nodded. “Cool.” “No, not cool.” She whispered. “You don’t like him do you?” I doubtfully shook my head. “It’s ok that you don’t like him – you and Al never like anyone that Willa or I go out with.” I laughed at her obviousness. “Well, I promised to back off and I will. I will not constantly point out to you that he is only attempting to be with you so that he can repose in the Wotter name of glory!” “Like you?” I laughed. “Heck, I’m a Malfoy, people already love me. My family history is a classic! Parents read it to their children as a bed time story, Winnie the Pooh just really isn’t that original any more.” Laughing, Rose stepped towards me. “You’re silly.” I blinked. Really, that was her come back. “But you should really go away now; we’re near the Gryffindor tower.” She joked – or at least, I hope it was joking. I smirked. “You’re bossy.” She crossed her arms over her chest and turned to face me, showing that she was indeed affected by my comment. “I am not, bossy.” “Oh you so, are.” Her shoulders dropped as she spun around and began to walk down the corridor a little faster than before. Ignoring me, she carried on. “Honestly, the tower is just around the corner.” “This is you not being bossy?” I readjusted my tie and looked up with a smooth grin that would make half the school melt. “You’re fecking rubbish.” She took a deep breath and then shoved me in to a wall, I subsided by rebounding off a painting. “Thank you.” She said softly with a grin. “For everything.” Then she did something I never expected; She reached up on to her tip toes and kissed me on the cheek before running through the fat woman and in to the Common Room. My breath caught in my throat – I couldn’t trust myself to make anything but a grunting noise or possibly girly squeal. I blinked; my grey eyes reeled with excitement as I jumped in to the air and nearly fell down the stairway. “Loran’s bloody infatuated.” Albus complained glumly. “Willa’s all he bloody frets on about.” He threw a Quaffle up and down repeatedly on his bed. “Everywhere I bloody am it’s, Oh Willa is lookin’ fine or Have you seen Willa today, that dress is - insert perverted growl here – or the complaints he makes about Lysander. Merlin I’m going to hex him soon.” He said bitterly. I crossed my arms and stared at my cheek in the mirror gleefully. I’ll never wash it – never. Why would she kiss me? She likes Tadd. I should have just had the courage to ask her to Hogsmeade earlier. That way I wouldn’t have to watch her follow around a prick for the day and possibly kiss him. But wait – she kissed me first, she kissed me before Finnegan! “-and then I’m going to scrub his butt cheeks and lick-“ “WHAT?” I cried, pulling myself from the mirror and diving on to Al’s bed. “See! See!” He exclaimed. “I knew you weren’t listening to me!” “I am listening.” I disputed. “So what did I say?” He mused. “Something about scrubbing butt cheeks and licki-“ “Willa!” Albus barked. “You want to lick Willa?” I shrieked to Albus like he had spouted an extra head and grown an arm from his chest. “No!” He bellowed. “Willa!” He raised an arm to the door where a rather startled looking blonde Gryffindor was stood. She took a step away. “Whose arse are you scrubbing and why the hell do you want to lick me?” Albus’s eyes brightened as Willa ducked under my arm and sat on the end of his bed. “We don’t want to lick you my sweet.” Al reasoned. “But I can’t say the same for Scorpius and but cheeks – Tadd’s are so soft. And how does he get his hair to flip like that I mean, just look at it!” She took a pillow from behind his head and pressed it to his face briefly. “We’ll be getting him help soon.” She whispered to me. “Not to seem rude Will’s, because I really don’t mind.” I asked, as her hair fell over her face. “But how did you get in here?” “Well,” she said with a deep breath. “I scaled the side of the school with suction cups, climbing down from the Gryffindor Tower. Upon reaching the bottom I stealthily tip toed across the border and dug my way in to the dungeons with a shovel before blowing up the door to the Slytherin Common Room.” “Really?” “No Al. I used the door.” She said; a ghost of sarcasm evident in her tone. “I got the password from a second year.” I rolled my eyes. “How did you do that?” “I’m a prefect I have my ways.” I prayed that I wouldn’t stammer. “Willa. As Head Boy I could have your badge taken away from you.” “You wouldn’t do it.” She said confidentially. “We have too much fun having Bubble fights in the prefect’s bathroom. If you take away my privileges we wouldn’t be able to continue getting bubbily.” She paused as Al looked rather confused. “Oh and I have information on Rose and Tadd.” “Listening!” I called wiggling myself in between the two of them – they sandwiched me tightly so that I wiggled uncomfortably. “Tadd told me that he was planning to take Rose to Shrieking Shack for their Hogsmeade date – but then I told him that Rose finds it creepy so take her to Honeydukes instead.” “But Rose loves the Shrieking Shack.” I pointed out doubtfully. Willa giggled loudly, her eyes shining with mischief – how they usually are. “Yes, but Honeydukes is a heck of a lot more likely to be where you guys are going to be hanging out.” “And that matters how?” Albus said offhandedly. “Well, when Rosie see’s Scorpius with a hot date, she’ll get a little green eyed.” She cooed. “Willa – you’re a genius!” I said, poking her nose for emphasis. She shrugged. “I do try. Oh and I recommend Tina Zabini.” “No you don’t.” “Yes I do.” She jabbed one of my dimples and slapped my thigh. “Now if you will excuse me I have an Astronomy Class to prepare for.” “Can’t you just be my hot date Will’s?” I tried, running after her as she reached the door. “I’m afraid the answer’s no.” She pressed. “You know I would usually, but I happen to have a hot date of my own.” I raised a brow. “In the form of a Scamander brother.” She was teasing me – she’s such a girl. “Huh?” Lorcan said, suddenly inflated and appearing from behind. “Not you.” She snapped pushing him in to a wall and storming past him. She walked down the stairs to the boys dormitories, taking a left towards the girls – lord only knows what she was doing. But personally I didn’t want to find out. Lorcan stared after her as I pulled him from the ground. “You are a sad young man.” I said with a grin and pushed him in to our room, landing with a thud on Albus’s bed. “Up for a Butt Cheek scrub?” He asked me quietly. “Do I really need to answer that or should I just glare?” An; So … another chapter, another twist … well, not really, however the potion’s class was there for a reason, not just for the sake of it. The disclaimer is on the last 3 chapters. Oh and I have had a few reviews wanting Albus and Willa together. I'm afraid that this isn't an Albus/Oc. It's a Lysander/Oc, as stated in the story summery. I appreciate the reviews and the subtle hints (they're kinda cute) but the pairing isn't going to change. :) Any who’s … the little box down there feels lonely. It would love for you to fill it – even if with only one word. ![]() Beautiful Chapter Image by Marit @ tda. Willa and Albus Willa Chambers I laughed happily, jumping over various discarded belongings and flinging my bag onto my stereotypically cluttered bed. Books tumbled from my four-poster, quills and ink spilling across the floor. I grabbed a towel hanging from one of the posts of my bed and made my way to the bathroom. A long torrid shower sounded ideal, Scorpius has an uncanny ability to drive people crazy. I drew a deep breath and undressed noisily, singing my favorite songs as I went. I ran my fingers around the outline of my shorts – borrowed from Rose – and pulled them down to my ankles, stepping out of them with a tiny jump. I swiftly yanked my pullover from my head, tossing it carelessly to the sink, allowing it to fall in to the basin and hang limply over a tap. I ripped the buttons from my blouse as I let that fall to the floor, joining Rosie’s shorts. “Some school uniform that is.” A deep voice sniggered from the door way. I jumped up, pulling the towel infront of my body. “And you know, you really can’t sing!” “Scorpius!” I growled. “Close your eyes!” He laughed and turned around. I glanced at myself in the mirror before slamming the door. “Come on Will’s, don’t be like that!” He shouted triumphantly. “It’s not like I haven’t seen you in your underwear before.” I carefully maneuvered the removing of my pants without the removal the towel. “We were five!” I called. “And you put my pants on after I did; you cried to Astoria that you felt left out!” “Ok, something’s you shout and something’s you whisper Willa!” “This coming from the 17 year old boy standing outside my bathroom door while I shower?” I rolled my eyes. “I like the tattoo by the way.” He called. “You never show them anymore.” “That’s because we’re at a posh school Scorp.” I looked down to my wrist where four little stars were scattered. Previously mentioned, across my left foot – my name was elegantly written in small letters near my baby toe. Scorpius on the other hand, being the one who talked me in to getting them was a too bigger wuss to obtain one himself. On his 16th birthday I took his out and paid for a Celtic design to be plastered on his right tricep. “How did you get in here anyway?” I called, shaking myself from memory. “Well.” He explained. “I suction cupped up the side of Gryffin-“ “Oh shut up!” I ordered, stopping his sentence before he had the opportunity to echo my words. I turned to the shower doors, my fingers turning the steel knobs. I flinched at the water splattered my arm. I silently climbed in, ignoring Scorpius’s tales of his day; they involved Al and some sort of detention with Rose. Poor Rose. I turned and let the water cascade down my back, scrunching my shoulders as my nerves hummed. I rested my head against the shower door and smiled. Perhaps five minutes in to the relaxation process, a fuming, ear-splitting scream echoed through the room. I jumped ten feet in to the air and knocked my head against the metal shower bar. “Scorpius Fecking Malfoy! What the bloody hell are you doing in here?” It sounded painfully like Rose. “Me? Me!” He cried; his voice filled with fury. “What the fuck is he doing here?” I took this moment in time to breach open and hastily throw the black towel around my body. I dried my hair with my wand before tugging open the door to my dormitory. “-He was invited.” Rose screeched, her lips a little pinker than usual, a rather flustered looking Tadd stood aimlessly behind her. His eyes widened a little at the sight of me. “If you value your pathetic life you will walk out of here now!” “Oh, but I can’t do that.” Scorpius growled. His eyes were black with fury; his blood looked like it had stopped circulating around his body. “You see Red; I’ve been here for ages. So I repeat. What the fuck is Finnegan doing in a girl’s dorm? You need to give them privacy Tadd. Didn’t you know that?” A burning anger flowed obviously through Scorpius without warning. I stepped forward and threw all of my weight on to his left arm – I knew that if there was a possible commotion, he would be the one to throw the first punch. Tadd’s eyes narrowed coolly. “Well then Malfoy, what are you doing here?” “Pissing off Willa while she showered and then watched her immensely and made it incredibly awkward for her while she attempted to change.” Rose blinked and nodded slowly, as if to say ‘so that’s why you’re in a towel’. “You still didn’t answer my question.” Scorpius roared. “What the hell is Finnegan doing in your bedroom?” I shook his arm a little. “Scorp, I don’t really wanna know what they were planning to do in my bedroom.” He visibly stiffened. Almost as if sensing a wave of hormones, Tadd’s gaze flickered upwards – towards the rim of my towel. For a moment he looked slightly perplexed, before raising a brow and nodding his head approvingly. I shuddered. Scorpius growled with rage. “Get your fecking boyfriend to stop looking at Willa. She’s a human, not a piece of meat!” “It’s not too different to how you treat girls then is it Mal-“ I shoved Scorpius through the door of the bathroom, head over heels, and ran in after him, slamming the door behind me. He took advantage of this personal and silent moment to ‘redecorate’ my bathroom. He kicked my clothes around the room, sending Rose’s shorts rebounding off a wall. A bottle of shampoo went through the window and he practically shattered the shower door – sending his fist through the glass. He pulled his hand back slowly, tears welling up in his eyes. He wouldn’t cry. He never cried. Scorpius Malfoy never cries. I took a step forward and whispered his name with a shudder. “Scorpius.” He slammed his fist against the wall and slid down it burring his head in to his hands. “Sweetie?” “I though she liked me.” He snapped. I sat down adjacent to my rock of a hypothetical brother, positioning the towel so that nothing indecent was visual. “I mean, we forgave and forgot, I walked her back to her Common Room, she kissed me and then we-“ “Hang on.” I whispered. “She kissed you? When did this happen I mea-“ “A few days ago, the d … day you came to our dorm.” He stammered. “It was only on the cheek though, it probably meant nothing to her.” I blinked, my body feeling a little uneasy. “Scor-“ “I probably look like a right idiot.” He huffed, still leaning against the wall. “I mean, what the hell will Rose think that I’m like now?” He dug his fingers in to his skull. “I just don’t know what to do. I feel useless – she’s never going to notice me!” “Scorpius.” I breathed; anxiety riddled through the air. “Scorp, sweetie. I can’t tell you how wrong you really are. I’m bloody sure that she’s noticed you after almost 7 years of Hogwarts.” I leant forward and placed a hand on his knee, making a sad attempt at a supportive smile, dodging a piece of glass present on the floor. “If a girl doesn’t notice you – then she’s not worth your affection.” “How can you say that? It’s Rose!” “I don’t know Scorp. I really don’t know.” Rubbing my hands together quickly I shoved them in to the pockets of my jacket. I blew my fringe from my eyes and strolled through the Entrance Hall. A group of forth year girls were giggling, a pair of sixth years holding hands and offering little pecks on the cheek. “People are very insensitive.” Scorpius mumbled, scuffing his shoes along the ground. It was another two hours before either of us spoke again the previous night. Rose had left with Tadd and returned at bedtime. Neither of us uttered a word either, not then, not this morning. But Scorpius was torn up – it was obvious. “No there are not.” I argued. “You’re just being a depressive old man.” He smirked – I know I saw a quick smile. “It’s Hogsmeade, be happy.” The older students were grouped off in to large clusters, spread out awkwardly throughout the leaf covered courtyard. A gang of Slytherin students sat on a moss covered wall. Tina Zabini was perched on to the lap of one of the Slytherin Chasers. “I thought you were going to ask Tina to Hogsmeade?” I said with a nudge to his hip. “I don’t feel like it.” “Well now you’ve just ruined the entire plan you numpty!” I turned back to the Slytherins’; in one motion it worked like clockwork. They would laugh – point, glare or remark. No vocal insults were needed, it all happened with their eyes. It was surreal. Scorpius and I strolled past them, he took my hand. “What’s this for?” I asked, squeezing his index finger a little. Little whispers shot from amongst the group; no insults were fired, that’s what the presence of Scorpius does to this school. For those split moments for his friends their childish games and cruel jokes are held off. But only for those moments. Scorpius looked like he had been trampled on my Hagrid and the flobber worms – of which I have many burns from; still. “Tina was watching … and Nott was drooling at the bottom of your skirt, is it really appropriate for you to wear it that short?” I fiddled with the hem of black material, flowing to mid thigh. “It just read’s sex-machine!” he groaned, turning me away from the group of green. I wonder how he would react if I pointed out that I borrowed this dress from his mother for this occasion? A long silver necklace was around my neck once – the muggle Christian cross hung from the chain. It went well with the fact that the strapless dress was more of a tight-t-shirt as my overprotective blonde ‘brother’ likes to call it. The black and white thin striped cardi was almost as long as the thing itself. “I wear it because it’s pretty. And I’m wearing tights!” He growled. “Your tights are see through!” “But warm?” “Xander’s going to try and jump you, I know it.” “Xander is not his brother.” I pointed out, running a hand through my long locks. I hadn’t noticed until recently that they cascaded to just below my chest. “He’s going to treat me right. Like you do. And I promise you – if everything goes wrong I will let you at him; no questions. I doubt he’ll even mention it. He doesn’t like me for my looks.” “And you won’t try to stop me?” he pouted after visibly rolling his eyes. “I won’t try to stop you.” I smacked his cheek lightly a couple of times before strolling towards my date. “Oh, you do have somewhere to be right?” He nodded, his hands thrown in to the pockets of his robes. “Yes Mum, Al and I are meeting up. We’ve got the entire day planned.” I smiled and swiveled quickly on my feet, my boots digging a little in to the mud. Sitting lazily on the window ledge was Xander. His dark brown hair falling limply over his eyes, a light blue, just another thing that ties his heart to mine. Digging my hands in to my pockets I walked over to the tall figure, his left foot hanging from the ledge and scuffing the cobbles. I bit my lip nervously. “So I heard that this Seventh Year Gryffindor girl has a huge thing for this Ravenclaw boy.” I said, sneaking up behind him. “Really?” He questioned. “Because I heard that this so called Ravenclaw Boy, really liked this Hufflepuff girl that just kept rejecting him so he had to settle for this beautiful Gryffindor instead.” I crinkled my nose and shoved him off of the ledge. He landed in a pile of leaves and sat straight back up. “Tell me more of this Gryffindor beauty.” She stood up from the floor and brushed himself off. “What do you want to know?” I blinked innocently and took his hand. “What is she like?” He exhaled slowly, making a show of the question. He swung my hand high. “Well, she’s this giddy little Gryffindor, whose intent on constantly arousing my brother.” He pulled me clumsily in to his side with a smirk. “She has beautiful golden hair and the loveliest little nose to match. Of which she constantly crinkles and makes me want to kiss it.” My hand was still tightly embedded in his – tiny compared to his. “She has these gorgeous eyes; they make you loose yourself deep inside them.” He spoke softly. “She’s rather thin, the right size for my arms to fit around her … and is honestly, and truly, the finest girl that I have ever, had the pleasure of meeting.” My hand seared in his touch, my heart exploding. Lysander smiled. I love it when he smiled. While some found his smirk too similar to his brothers, I found it unique. He clicked his tongue. “But my favorite part about her is the way that she cares. Its way more than a lot of people deserve. A lot more than anyone deserves. If she likes you; you have the best company – if she doesn’t, you still get a pleasant conversation.” I smiled. “And a beautiful smile.” He said. “She has one of them too.” “How dare you talk about this girl on our date.” I teased. “If she’s so special why don’t you go and be with Little Miss Wonderful?” He looked in to my eyes. “I am.” My mouth fell open in inch. “And she’s not Little Miss Wonderful. She’s Little Miss Perfect.” “You’re a suck up.” He shrugged. “I am a Ravenclaw?” I dug my hands in to my pockets and smiled as a group of third years happily made their way in to The Three Broomsticks. I tilted my head. It had been three hours and not once, had our hands left the other. We carefully walked down the slope towards the shrieking shack. Even from 50 feet away, the broken windows and damp ridden wood was clearly visible. “You know the rumors about this place?” he asked me quietly, his breath hot in my ear, bringing me to a stop. I stood up on one of the smaller rocks. I was close to an inch taller than Xander at this point. The one of chance. I nodded. “Albus told me once, he made me walk around the outside. I was petrified.” “Did you know that the man who is the base of these rumors is pretty much Al’s Uncle?” I shook my head. “How do you know that?” He twisted his wand through his fingers. “My mother and Albus’s parents were best friends through Hogwarts.” I blinked. “We go round there every holiday. But they keep their distance … ‘cause of Lorcan.” I grinned widely. “That’s so awesome. The knowing Al thing, not about your brother.” He nodded a little. “Have you ever considered just ‘loosing’ Lorcan one day?” His eyes widened. “No.” His answer was short. “He may be a wanker but he’s still my twin. We used to be so close, so similar.” He laughed a little ironically. “Lor used to be so different. So caring.” “Like you?” Xander smiled finally letting go of my hand. I wanted to cry out from disappointment. Cause an avalanche of leaves and have them attack things. Instead his arms found their way around my waist. “No. Like you actually.” I nodded slowly and placed my arms around his neck, my hands finding the small strands at the ends of his hair. “Xander.” I whispered slowly, attempting not to break the enticing atmosphere around us. “You make me feel all fluttery.” He chuckled lightly before leaning upwards a little and placing a light kiss upon my lips. I ached for his touch to linger, that one single movement sending charges throughout my body. I smiled against his lips as his hands snaked tighter against the small of my back. My arm’s pulled him tighter to me. A light blush spread rapidly against my skin, my lips tingling with delight. He lifted me up from the rock, my feet off the floor – only being held by his arms as he held a gentle kiss. I was shortly placed on to the ground. His lips left mine and I nearly whined with discontentment. “Willa?” I ignored my name and eagerly pulled on his black tie, lowering his face to mine. My mind disappeared in to total bliss. I arched my back carefully and lightly pressed myself to him as his lips conquered mine. I was still holding on to his tie while he flicked his tongue lightly over my bottom lip. An astonishingly quiet moan escaped my lips. I could feel him smile a little – I bit lightly upon his lip. He chuckled and pulled away a little, resting his nose on mine. “Xander.” I grumbled. “Spoil sport.” He smirked and quickly allowed one light kiss upon my lips. “Am I really?” My fingers unintentionally brushed through his messy hair. “Yes.” I pecked his lips. “You are.” “We’ll see about that.” He growled as his lips captured mine once more. I tip toed on in my boots, tracing his bottom lip with my tongue. I melted under his touch. Cupping his face gently, I ran my hand over his stubble smiling in to the kiss. “We really, should, be getting, back.” I whined through kisses. “Who’s the spoil sport now?” He whispered huskily. “It’s still you.” I giggled, poking him in the chest before running away. He easily caught up with me, catching me from behind and spinning me around effortlessly in a circle. “You’re too fast.” He grinned. “Well maybe you’re too slow.” I shrugged truthfully and kissed his cheek. Before we could fall in to a conversation on my athletic ability I spotted something in the corner of my eye. Rose stumbled from the Three Broomsticks shortly followed by Tadd who closed the door behind her. He flung his arm around her shoulders and they fell in to step. As the dead leaves crunched under their feet I couldn’t help a little part of me die inside. I didn’t know she was going with Finnegan. Why didn’t she tell me?” “Will’s.” Xander cooed. “You alright?” I nodded staring up at him with an easy smile. “I didn’t know she was going to Hogsmeade with Finnegan – I mean, I knew she sorta had a thing with him, but … Oh I don’t know.” “It’s why Scorpius is upset you know.” He said; his arm tightly secured around my waist as we walked. “Tadd asked Rose to Hogsmeade during their potions lesson. He thinks that Rose prefers Tadd over him. What the girls in my Charms Class Gossip like never before?” I crinkled my nose and he kissed it innocently. “I said I wanted to do it.” I laughed. “Well, at the moment I think that Rose does prefer Tadd to Scorp. There was a huge argument yesterday. It was horrible. Scorpius punched the glass from our shower door and I ended up locking the both of us in the bathroom while he calmed down. He can be really scary.” “You’ve only just noticed?” I smacked his arm before laying my head on his shoulder. “What was he doing in your dorm room anyway?” “I think he just wanted to see us.” I lied easily. “We hadn’t talked in a while. He’s been kinda involved in Quidditch.” I realise that honesty is the best policy – however telling Xander that my best friend was in my room to interrupt my shower for some particular reason probably wouldn’t go down to well. “Can I ask you a question Will’s, and I need an honest answer-I won’t be offended.” Mmm Hm, I mumbled in to his shoulder. “Who are you supporting in the match? The ‘Claws or the Snakes?” I stifled a laugh and then furrowed my brows. “I don’t know. I guess I’ll decide on the day.” He squeezed me in to his side. “You still have my scarf right? And my jumper?” I bit my lip and nodded slowly. “I’ve seen you wear my scarf around school.” He said sweetly. “So I know you still have it.” “I never denied that I did.” He laughed and kissed the top of my head. “And my jumper?” I groaned. “You’re really going to make me answer aren’t you?” He nodded. “If you want it back I’ll give it to you. No questions?” “Oh well now I am intrigued to what my jumper has experienced.” He sighed. “But I don’t want it back. It’s yours.” “And the scarf?” He chuckled. “The scarf too.” He stopped walking and turned me to face him. “On one condition.” I crinkled my nose and he kissed it again. “I will do that every time.” I bit my lip. “Ok nose-kisser. What’s your condition?” He squeezed my hands tightly. “Be my girlfriend?” “Lysander, that doesn’t even need to be dignified with an answer,” I breathed, only loud enough for the two of us to hear. “So is that a yes or a no?” He laughed a little nervously. “For a Ravenclaw, I’m not that observant.” “I’ve noticed.” I whispered, kissing him once on the lips. “And the answers yes by the way.” His grin enveloped his face, showing off a set of perfectly white teeth. I smiled too and snuggled myself in to his side, allowing him to hug me tightly as we walked. “You wanna go to The Three Broomsticks and drink lots of Butterbeer? – or go to Madame Puttifoot’s and make fun of all the couples?” I chewed my on my lip a little. He contemplated when I didn’t answer. “Or, we could go to Zo – What on earth?” I turned a little, following his gaze. Scorpius was stood over the fountain a little flustered, his blonde hair dangling limply in to his grey eyes. Albus was spluttering around in the shallow waters of the fountain, spraying water from his mouth. Al pointed to us and they both waved – Al a little more vigorously - before running in the direction past The Three Broomsticks, looking a little flustered. “Albus seems happy to see you.” “I don’t want to know.” I said quickly as Xander kissed my forehead and trailed little butterfly kisses until he reached my mouth. “Am I still a spoil sport?” He whispered. “No.” I moaned as he bit my lip. “But you are a Ravenclaw.” Any who’s … the little box down there feels lonely. It would love for you to fill it – even if with only one word. I hope that you all enjoyed this chapter – the next one of from Scorpius’s POV, you all get to see what he get’s up to in Hogsmeade, you excited? ![]() Beautiful Chapter Image by Marit @ tda. Tadd Scorpius Malfoy I blew my hair from my eyes and desperately considered a hair cut – Al has been telling me for a while to get one; this coming from Mr messy hair 2023. I bobbed my head, my eyes gently closing. “Scorp!” Al stage whispered. “Scorpius Malfoy! Your hair is in your butter beer.” I jerked awake, placing my drink on to the table. Albus took it instantly. “That’s what you get when you hold it to close to your face.” Exhaling fiercely I put my feet on to the chair adjacent to me. “What are they doing?” I hissed. “They’ve been here for almost 3 hours!” I licked my lips. Al shrugged. “They’re on a date? I guess they’re doing things that people do when dating.” “How would you know?” I asked, drawing closer and taking back my beer. “You’ve never been on a date.” His mouth flew open as he winked at a waitress. “That is not true!” “The fake date with Willa in third year does not count.” I said in a bored tone, drumming my fingers along the table. He huffed. “Well then no, I haven’t. But with my looks, I don’t need to date – I just skip straight to the after party activities.” He said with a wink. “If you know what I’m talking about.” “Yes Albus.” I groaned. “I do know what you’re talking about. I introduced you to the concept of those after party activities.” Albus slammed his fist on to the table before waving it half heartedly. “I can’t believe that you talked me in to doing this!” “It didn’t take much effort if I do say so.” “No. No you don’t get to say so.” He hissed. “This is stupid and immature and I’m going to go and get Princess on you.” “No. Please no, don’t go and get Will’s, she’ll tell me off. I don’t want her to tell me off!” Albus has recently taken to calling Willa Princess, something to do with her high demands or something. I don’t know. He clutched the Zonko’s shopping bag to his chest. “Fine. But if you go all obsessed on me I’ll kick your arse! I can’t believe I’m stalking my own cousin!” “We’re not stalking.” I said slowly. “We’re following and protecting.” “Then why aren’t we ‘following’ Willa. The one who’s dating the guy with the psychotic brother instead of my tempered cousin who dating a hero?” I scoffed. “Hero’s a bit much isn’t it?” He raised a brow. “Or not.” After fixing Willa’s shower early this morning, and the window, and the sink, and the floor tiles, and the – well you get the idea – I realized that if people think that I am a scary person, then I shall live up to my name. Thus is why I am sat in The Three Broomsticks in a booth at the back with a pile of empty beer glasses and waiting for Rose and Tadd to actually do something. Albus froze in his tracks. “Merlin’s granny pants. They’re holding hands! They’re holding hands!” “Oh Christ, call the Aurors’!” His eyes opened wide before glaring back out to the window seat, where his dearly beloved cousin was sat. “Could you be anymore sarcastic?” “It’s a gift.” He grinned a little. “A bloody annoying gift.” I glanced quickly behind me, peeking over the top of the seat. My shoulders fell down in defeat. I felt myself smile a little as her skin flushed scarlet. She laughed and Tadd’s lips moved briefly – Git. The gleam in her eye glistened when he spoke. I used to have that effect on her; I used to have that effect on everybody. Her hand ran along his collarbone suggestively while he brushed a hair from her face. Albus pulled me back in to my seat brutally while our glass smashed to the floor. He crossed his legs and re-scanned the pub innocently. I dived on to the chair from Rose’s possibly view. “Duck!” “Where?” “Bloody Hell!” I yelled, only managing to attract more attention form people around us. “Bloody hell what?” Albus asked tapping his foot on the table leg. “Scorpius where’s this duck?” More people from around the pub began to stop their actions and watch Albus and his hypothetical bloody duck. A group of third years began to snigger. “Al, there is no duck.” His mouth flew open and his brows furrowed. “Then why would you say it?” He shook his head. “You know you surprise me sometimes Scorp.” “Oh I surprise you?” I sat up a little straighter. “Yeah.” He admitted, kicking the little pieces of glass around with his foot. “I mean, you’re so random – and you can be really dim sometimes. I mean this ‘following’ thing is really shitty.” I bit my tongue, attempting everything to stop myself from lunging across the table and strangling my friend. He put down his bag. “I mean Rose and Tadd are just sitting there listening to everything that we’re saying.” I drew and deep breath and counted to three in my head. “Uh, you know that’s real good there Albus, you considering a career in espionage there?” “You think I could make it?” I sighed. “No.” “I don’t think you could either.” Rose said reluctantly, stood at the opening of our booth. A rigid expression on her face. “Hiya Rose?” I greeted nervously, straightening myself up. “What ‘cha doing?” “Setting you two straight!” She screeched through clenched teeth, Albus kicked me from under the table. Her body was rigid, her jaw was one narrow line and her arms were shaking with anger. She actually resembled McGonogall. And I surprisingly loved it. “…And if you think th – Scorpius Malfoy! Do not make faces at me. You’re childish and immature, just like Albus thinks your entire idea is. It’s true by the way.” She drew a deep breath. “I have known that you have been following me since school. Albus stomped down the stairs; you two really are a noisy pair.” I made a face, attempting throwing her off her rant once more. “Told you we should have been quieter.” I muttered, flicking Al on his hand. “Oh for the love of Merlin!” she exclaimed loudly, the undivided and not-so-discreet attention of the pub member still on us. “Will you two ever listen?” Albus blinked. “Scorp look at that waitresses ars-“ “Bloody Hell!” She screamed, slamming her hand on to the table. I flinched; Albus on the other hand was used to this. “That’s it. I’m done. I’m done with you both; you’re stupid tricks and pranks. Your ideas and, and your plans. You and your flippy hair!” She muttered, glaring at me. “I’m done.” She shuddered and stormed away from the table, grabbing Tadd by his arm and dragging him from the pub. “So.” Albus tried clicking his tongue. “You wanna wait a second and then see where she goes next?” “Alright.” “Just let me go and get this girls postcode first.” “Do you think Rose is mad at us?” I asked Albus when we had finished running. We had lost Rose and Tadd in a manipulative crowd outside Honeydukes. Albus scoffed. “She’s a Weasley. She’ll be fine.” The blonde first year grinned at me, reminding myself of me in my early years of Hogwarts. “Besides, you know she can’t stay angry forever.” “Right, and I’m actually Merlin.” I rolled my eyes as we passed the stone fountain. “Really?” he smiled, catching his breath a little – for a Quidditch captain, he’s rather unfit. I blinked. “No.” His mouth dropped to the floor. “Christ Scorpius! First the duck and now this? When will you stop lying to me?” I scoffed and shoved him side ways. From that small push – the outcome – a rather loud splash. He had fallen in to the fountain. “Al!” I shouted. “Al, are you alright?” I stared for a moment as he appeared from beneath the water and spat out a mouthful. “I’m sorry; I didn’t mean to push you that hard!” I prepared myself for a bashing; placing my arms infront of my face but all I heard was laughter. “Al you are strange.” I leant on to the wall of the fountain and leant in to take his hand and pull him out. “Oh look there’s Willa!” He exclaimed with a smile. He lifted up the hand I was holding and waved both of his arms simultaneously, falling back in to the water. I bit the inside of my cheeks, refraining myself from laughter. “Don’t embarrass her.” I muttered with a small wave. Scamander was still with her, holding her tightly around the waist. His fingers entwined. I’ve seen the way he looks’s at her, I may hate his brother – but Willa’s right. He’s not Lorcan. She laughed at the two of us and turned back to Xander. It can’t go unsaid; that bloody dress! If I didn’t know Willa I would turn all-Albus-like on her arse. Lysander has got some work to do if he wants to keep her. I know for a fact she doesn’t calm easily. I’m curious about that jumper of his though. I know that she wears the scarf around school. But I’m pretty sure that she uses the jumper as part of her pajamas. It was carelessly thrown on to her bed when I was in her bathroom yesterday, next to her pajama shorts, i.e. my boxers. I pulled Albus from the fountain and turned back to Will’s, who was now flirtatiously and delicately kissing Scamander. “It’s sick.” Albus admitted, flinging water from his fingertips and ringing out his cloak. “Look at them – that amount of affection out on public display. Just sick.” I raised my eyebrows in disbelief. “Sure.” “God, how many times have we been over this?” He asked, flinging his soggy arm around my shoulders; water squelching in his shoes. “I take my women away from the public before snogging them senseless.” I glared at my roommate, furrowing my brows and pushing his arm off of me. “There’s no wonder you were voted Gentlemen of the year.” I admitted. “Where’s your tiara?” He laughed gracefully. “In your mum’s bed.” “Do you want me to put you back in to that fountain?” He shrugged. “Be my guest. Do and loose sight of Rose, over look the comment – and the many more I will be slipping in over the next few hours - and we can resume indiscreetly stalking my cousin.” “She went that way.” I said hastily, grabbing his arm and ignoring his tried to dry himself off with his wand. “This is completely unorthodox.” Albus grumbled as we sat behind a rock. “Why are we sitting behind a rock when we could just sit on that bench over there?” “Because Rose and Shit-brain are standing right behind the bench – they’ll see us.” I countered, refusing to look Albus in the eye. “Yes, because this rock is much better – look at all the coverage we get, it’s so sheltered and rock-like.” My shoulder fell down in defeat. Years ago it my mine and Albus’s job, as prefects and family, to protect Rose and Willa, make sure that no boy’s ever approached either of them and to keep the male population in line. But that was years ago. They never made it easy, dressing like they do or actually turning in to women. But they’re 17 now, they can do what they like – I can’t be there to stop them. “I can’t wait to tell all my friends about this rock!” Albus said. “I bet they don’t have a rock this big.” “Let’s just go.” I said solemnly, picking up a pile of leaves and throwing them on to the floor. Albus beamed at me before his expression turned to confusion. “Why?” “Cause I don’t own her.” I said, grabbing his arm and pulling him up. “She’s a grown woman, she can do what she wants-“ I stood up from behind the rock and brushed off my robes. “-Except that!” I jumped over the rock and launched myself at Finnegan – interrupting the heated snog session that he was having with my Rosie! An; … What does everyone think about this chapter. I don't think it's my best, but it was definitely fun to write. I have had people tell me that Albus seems incredibly stupid in this chapter compared to others, which he does - but it's all part of his charm :) ![]() Beautiful Chapter Image by Marit @ tda. Willa and Lysander :) Willa Chambers I smiled gently as Xander walked me back to the entrance hall, a bag in my hand and two in his. He beamed at me before pulling me close and torturing me with a quick kiss. I pulled away silently and pointed my finger at him. “You’ve had quite enough today Mr Scamander.” “You’re such a tease.” He hugged me close incase I changed my mind. I shook my head. “No mind change?” “None at all?” I pouted my lips and smacked my head against his. “Nope.” He laughed and rubbed his head, letting go of my waist. “You’re mean.” He mumbled. I just shrugged in response and grinned cheekily. “I never doubted that I wa – what the?” Rose stumbled in to the Entrance Hall with Tadd leaning on her shoulder, battered and bruised, a small amount of blood trickling from his mouth. Scorpius was a few feet away, his robes shrugged off and teeth clenched together. Cuts and scratches were dashed across his skin, his face unnaturally black and blue. “We’ve got to help him.” Xander panicked, grabbing my hand and pulling me over to Scorpius. “I cant believe you did that. You are a shit-brain!” Albus yelled. “After everything you- Willa.” Scorp glanced up from Albus alarmed. “Willa-“ I couldn’t help anything but my immediate reaction when I saw the unnatural position of his fingers. “Oh my god!” “Will’s I’m fine-.” “You have to see Madam Pomfrey.” I cut in; worry overtaking any other emotion that I could possibly experience. He shook his head. “I’m fine. I’m not a wuss – anyone who needs the Hospital Wing is a pansy!” Rose turned around with a slap to Scorp’s face. “We’re taking Tadd to the Hospital wing, he really wants to go. Xander can you help?” She placed a hand on his arm. “Sure.” Albus answered, dropping Scorp and walking forward. My best friend groaned in pain. “I think I should stay with Scorpius.” Xander said quickly, replacing the support from where Al had dropped his so called best friend and ran forward to Finnegan. “Thanks Scamander.” Scorp groaned, as I lifted his other arm and put my weight underneath. Lysander nodded and flinched when Scorpius pulled a face fighting back a grimace of pain. Rose just glared before helping Tadd up the stair case, he moaned like a little girl. “What happened?” I asked shakily. “Scorpius – tell me now.” I ordered when he didn’t answer. He shook his head resolutely. “Nothing, Tadd just pushed me too far this time.” He groaned as we walked him towards the dungeons. “I’m fine.” “You are not fine, just look at you-“ “Willa.” “-Scorp you’re covered-“ “Willa-“ “-in cuts and you’re bleeding, God damit Scorpius you’re going to tell me what the hell cam-“ “Willa, bloody hell I said I was fine.” He snapped, as we helped him down the trap door to the sub-levels of the castle. My anger subsided as quickly as it came. “It’s just a few scratches.” I bit my lip and held back minor tears. “Fine? Scorp-“ “Drop it Willa!” I immediately silenced myself. Scorpius was known to use his Malfoy inheritance on people he disagreed with, but never me. His growl, smirk, his glare. It was never used on me – until now. “Look you may have obvious problems right now,” Xander scolded. “But don’t take it out on Wills’, she’s only trying to help you Malfoy.” Scorpius grumbled an incoherent apology before turning to my boyfriend. “Talk to me like that when were not infront of my baby sister and I’ll have your head.” I poked his side, causing him to squirm a little. “No you won’t.” “No I won’t.” He echoed shaking his head. “I’m afraid you sometimes.” He groaned lightly as we approached the central dungeons. “Oh, and Scamander.” Xander looked up. “I approve.” My brows furrowed. “Anyone that stands up to me, even if I don’t have the ability to go all Malfoy on their arse … they are good enough for my baby.” Lysander smiled a little. It was easy to tell that he like having Scorp’s approval – even though he in no way needed it. “But I’m still watching you.” He groaned. We stumbled to the Common Room entrance, stopping at the wall. “Basilisk.” I muttered, watching as it opened. “How do you know the password?” Lysander asked quietly as he climbed through the hole first and pulled Scorpius through. I smirked. “I beat up a Slytherin for it.” He laughed as Scorpius glared. “Second years are easy.” “Don’t beat up members of my house Willa.” I glared. “Then don’t beat up members of mine.” We locked eyes for a moment before he tore his gaze away. “Fine, I’m sorry alright? Next time Tadd decides to feel up Rosie I’ll just let him shall I?” “You are the biggest arse hole I have ever had the displeasure of meeting!” He growled something under his breath once more. “Willa, you are supposed to be my friend here, you’re supposed to sit there and listen to me not make me want to go Malfoy on your arse!” “Malfoy on my arse?” I echoed. “You just glared at me like you father! Scorp, I am trying to be your friend here but you’re making it awfully hard!” “Then try harder.” My jaw dropped and I let go of his arm, allowing him to fall limp a little. “Don’t you dare talk to me like that Malfoy.” “I’m from a noble house. I will talk to you how I bloody want!” I scoffed. “No you won’t! We are not in the 20th century anymore. You will treat me with the same amount of respect that you will treat your mother! Don’t you dare look down on me cause of blood!” “Ok mum. I apologize.” He snarled. I blinked, shocked. Lysander looked livid. But somehow still protective of me. My voice was barley a whisper, but it was one that could stop hearts. “I don’t know what happened to you and frankly I don’t care right now. With the way you’re carrying on, I am seriously considering leaving you at the foot of the stairs and going to see how Tadd is doing in the ‘Pansy Wing’.” He rolled his eyes. “Go on then. I guess you’re not as good a friend as I thought.” “I’ve seen you turn in to your father before Scorpius; I’ve seen you fall from the top of the shed. I have seen you go through girl after girl and beat up people who my or may not have even whispered a bad word about you.” Xander helped him carefully up the stairs as I lectured, a tear coming to my eye as I placed my hands on my hips. “But I have also seen you smile, I’m not talking that stupid smirk you like to parade around, I mean the real one. I have seen you cry, I have made you cry just to see it. Just to make sure that you could. I have seen you under the worst conditions possible. You have spent your life protecting me from getting hurt so now it’s time for you to step back and allow me to help you.” He stayed silent ignoring me, Lysander said nothing but stepped aside so I could open Scorpius’s room door. “Do you know how much it kills me to see you like this? Having beaten up our friend’s boyfriend? Disgraced your room mate and to see your fingers twisted in to a position they are sure as hell not meant to be like!” I tossed out heartlessly. I was doing pretty well, but my voice cracked at the end. Xander let him go and placed a loving hand in to mine. I pushed Scorpius down on to his bed and burst in to the bathroom, leaving Xander with Scorp. “Because if you don’t want my help then I will leave right now, take my boyfriend with me and let you cry this out on your own!” I dampened a cloth and wrung it out, leaving the bathroom and sanding in the doorway. “But I know you; you don’t want to be alone. So what will it be? Shall I leave, or do you want my help?” He shuffled uncomfortably on his bed, sitting up slowly. On the exterior, he was thoroughly maintaining an icy nature, though inside, from years of personal experience, I could tell that he was no where near as collected as he appeared. “Help me.” It was almost so quiet it was inaudible. Xander took something from his brother’s bed and walked from the room. Without words he knew that we needed to be alone for this. Scorpius and I stared at one another, daring each other to break the contact; finally he slid from his outer exterior and let out a heart wrenching sob. His fingers were dug deeply in to his skull as he punched his bed post howling in pain. He was defeated. I walked to him, sliding in behind him, tossing my legs to the side and lovingly wrapped my arms around him. “I don’t know what I did.” He whispered, turning to me quickly. “I don’t know what happened. When I see her with him … Urrgh … I want to rip his face off. Lock her in a tower where no boy can ever have her.” “A little melodramatic don’t you think?” I teased, dabbing lightly above his right eye with the flannel. “She can handle herself.” “I know.” He nodded slowly, a serious expression on his face as he turned his face. I placed my hand gently to his cheek and cleaned his lip. A single tear rolled down his cheek. To see a Malfoy cry was something I could solemnly swear that no other girl has seen. Not even their mothers. I expected him to pull away, lock himself in to a room where no one else could reach him while he cried. Instead he knocked his head against the wooden bed post and fell back in to my arms. I only raised my eyebrows before my jaw opened al little and I hugged him tightly. He was taller than me, but it seemed impossible that at this particular moment he could seem so small. For the next hour I only hugged him, waiting for him to speak again. I stroked his hair like a loving mother and locked the door with my wand, so none of his room mates could enter. “So much for happy endings huh?” He whispered as his tears slowed. “The guy that you like’s twin is infatuated with you and the girl that I love is dating the guy I just sent to the Hospital Wing.” I smirked. “We’re screwed.” “Indefinably.” I closed my eyes and let the wind blow over me as a sudden breeze came through the window. “I don’t really think that we’re screwed Scorp.” I reasoned. “There’s someone for everyone.” “You make love sound like a two for one deal at Tesco.” I smirked, turned him to me and ran a light hand through his blonde hair. “Maybe it is, partners are like shopping; you have to try them out before you know if you really like them or not.” He laughed pathetically. “I can’t believe you actually just said that.” He added after a moment. I shrugged. “Well you agreed.” “So you and Scamander?” “There’s a prince out there for everyone. You said so yourself, on the train. There’s a prince for me and a princess for you.” He rolled his eyes. “So you don’t agree anymore?” I chuckled. “Scorp, don’t let one bad experience change your entire perspective on lif-“ “Christ Willa!” he groaned, pulling away from me. “There are no happy endings! This little thing that we call life isn’t a fairy tale, there isn’t someone to come and sweep you off your feet!” I smirked doubtfully. “You’re just saying that because you’re angry.” “No Willa,” he hissed. “I’m saying it because it’s true. On the train I said the thing that would make you happy. True love-it’s bogus!” “You lied.” I breathed out, I suddenly didn’t care about the fact my best friend was probably dying on the inside. “To me?” “Yes I lied.” He nearly shouted his jaw shifting. “If I hadn’t you would have been upset, and I can’t take it when you’re down!” I didn’t contemplate the real meaning behind his actions. “Well you’re doing a magnificent job Malfoy.” “Malfoy?” He asked, his expression teasing, as if I was a child. “So that’s the name basis now? Willa – “ he stopped shouting and looked at me, the anger suddenly subsided and he stared at me through teary eyes. “I am so sorry. Who am I to tell you that?” He begged, taking the towel and throwing it aside. “I am the worst friend ever. I don’t even know why you talk to me. Look at all the crap I pull; all the stunts.” “And I love every one of them.” I whispered. “Scorpius, you are a royal prat.” I explained as I wiped the tears from his cheeks. “But you’re Rose’s, Albus’s and my royal prat. You’ve got us as friends and you can’t evade it. Which is exactly why I need to apologize to my roommate.” I admitted sheepishly on the end. I stood up and grabbed the flannel from the floor. “Now, calling all people with violent and somewhat sucky chest wounds that need attending too!” He smirked and conjured up a tub of chocolate ice cream and waffles with ketchup. “That ‘be me Madame.” He undid his shirt carefully, only managing to remove it successfully with my assistance. “So tell me.” He groaned, as I applied the towel to his chest; his ribs looking a little too unnatural. “How was it with Xander? You know, that boy has grown on me.” I snorted. “What when he decided to help you over Tadd or when he stood up to you out side the portrait?” “Both – ouch, jeez Willa.” “It’s not my fault. Next time keep your poor old stomach out of a punch up.” I replied, dabbing his back delicately. “Thank you for giving him your approval, I think it made him feel a little more safe.” “I gave him my approval?” I snorted, I knew this would happen. “Yes, you did.” “Wow.” Scorpius complained. “I must have really hit my head hard.” I felt another tear land on my hand. He wiped it away and resumed. “So, your date?” “My date was incredibly good thank you – my first kiss.” “He kissed you?” MmmHm. “I’ve always hated that boy.” I laughed good naturedly. “Scorpius, you are such a hypocrite.” “No I’m not.” He denied. “I’m just upset that you think he was your first kiss.” I snuggled my feet in to his bed covers slowly. “Don’t think I forgot about our kiss. If you can even call it that.” “What!” he exclaimed. “Our kiss was extraordinary!” “We were 7.” I laughed. “And you looked up my skirt afterwards.” “Well at least I’ve matured since then.” I don’t think my snort could have described my opinion any better. The shut the door with a slam behind me and fled down the stairs to the Common Room. I heard the faint slam behind me as I went. Slytherins’ were scattered faintly throughout the room. A small group of Third years studding around the fire. A group of 6th years sat along the couch and Lysander perched on the arm. I walked slowly to him, wondering for a second if he were his brother. “Xander?” “Uh huh?” he asked nonchalant, lifting his hand up for me to take. “You ok?” I asked as I placed my fingers between mine carefully. He stood up and walked with me towards the passage to leave the Common Room. “I’m fine.” He said quietly. “It was kinda funny actually; every body thought that I was Lorcan. I pretended to be a whore for an hour or two and got away scot free.” “Pretended to be a whore?” I echoed. “How many girls did you snog?” “Seven.” I raised my brow so he laughed a little. “Is that what you think of me? I didn’t snog any thank you very much. You’re the only girl I want to kiss.” “Well then I’m happy to oblige.” I muttered, reaching up on to my tip toes and pressing my lips lightly to his. He kissed back and held me tight, leaning his back against the wall in the thin passage way. I pulled away and giggled. “You’re a tease.” “The tables have turned.” A deep cough came from the entrance. “I’ll be happy to hit you with one of those turning tables if you don’t step away from my woman.” I jumped from Lysander’s grasp to see his doppelganger. “Lorcan, what are you doing here?” “Lorcan?” he echoed. “What are you talking about, I’m Lysander!” “Oh, bloody hell.” I muttered, stamping my foot a little. “Did you just stamp your-“ “-foot I thought girls only did-“ “-that in movies.” I drew a deep breath. “Oh halleluiah, the twin thing.” I took Xander’s hand and walked him towards the entrance. “Where are you going Will’s?” Lorcan asked. “I’m Xander. There’s no way in hell I’m letting you go with Lorcan. Not after the campfire.” Xander stepped forward towards his brother. They really were identical. “This is unethical and immature Lorcan.” “Leave it alright.” I said quietly, pulling back my boyfriend. “I know which is which.” “How exactly?” Xander asked me, frustrated and still face to face with his brother. It was like looking at the other’s reflection – the same expression to the same hair out of place. “Well for starters Xander would never call me ‘his woman’.” I said with a slightly ghetto accent. “And if you ever do Lysander I will hurt you! You’re wearing the same clothes as earlier and Lysander still doesn’t know what went on at the campfire – No I am still not telling you.” Lorcan smirked. “Well it was worth a try was it not?” “No it’s really wasn’t.” I said so icily that it almost scared me. Xander waited through a moment of silence before taking my small hand in to his and walking me through the dungeons. He perched in the small gaps between the archways so I jumped up next to him, swinging my legs freely. “So, eventful ending to a first date?” I nodded and laughed a little. “I wouldn’t be me without somehow managing to do something hysterically wrong.” “You did nothing wrong.” I looked up. “Infact it was the best date I’ve ever been on. Defiantly the most interesting too.” I rolled my eyes and laughed. “Did I mention today how much I like your dress?” I smiled. “No, but I wasn’t sure that you would.” I muttered. Lysander grinned sheepishly. “Well, infact, I love it so much I have to forbid you from wearing it again.” I realized a blonde brow. “It makes you look extremely pretty - and I don’t want to fight the guys off you. I hate violence.” I threw my head back and laughed. “I’ll have to wait and see if I can oblige to that.” “Where’s your cardi?” he asked quietly after a small pause of comfortable silence. We figured that out quickly. Being with Lysander was effortless. No conversation was actually needed to have a good time, just being in each other’s company. My hand flew effortlessly to my mouth. “It’s still on Albus’s bed, whatever Scorp will give it back to me tomorrow.” He quickly shrugged off his jacket and placed it around my shoulder. “No girlfriend of mine is going cold.” “You make it sound like a horror film.” I breathed in the sent of him, the smell that I quickly grew to love. “You never know.” He teased. “I’ve just realized something.” I looked up, resting my head on his shoulder. “What?” “You like smelling my jackets.” I poked him lightly as he placed his am around me. “It’s a good thing, don’t worry.” “Sure.” There was a period of silence. “No one’s ever been able to tell the difference between us before.” He quietly said, stroking my hair. “Mmh,” was my simple reply. I couldn’t think of anything else to say after lying to him in such a way. The real reason why I knew the difference; their kisses are nothing alike. “You’re tired?” He questioned. Mmh He laughed. “Come on. To the Gryffindor Common Room.” Mmh I said once more, laughing a little. Xander sighed. “What went on at the campfire?” I looked up sharply. “It doesn’t matter.” “Yes it does.” “No it dosen’t.” “Well it does to me!” I blinked, he hadn’t raised his voice, but I could see that he was ruffled. He didn’t like the aspect of not knowing what happened. He sighed. “I’m sorry Willa. I just don’t like knowing that my brother had you first.” “Excuse me?” “Sorry,” he apologized. “Bad phrasing. I mean, I don’t know what Lorcan did to you and I want to know.” “So what,” I asked. “Then you can punch him and everything will be better?” “No.” he denied. “You know that I don’t like violence, I would never punch anyone – not unless they deeply deserved it.” “Well,” I said quietly, blowing a hair from my eye. “Then your brother would be black and blue.” He flinched. “So it was bad?” I nodded. “You know the worst of it?” He held me tight. “I was saved by Tadd; he launched himself over a log to get your brothers face removed from mine.” Xander nodded. “Well then, I guess I’m going to have to thank that twat.” “You think Tadd is a twat?” “I know what he’s like Willa.” He stated sharply. “I think that Rose should be careful, he’s nice until he gets you and then when your alone, well let’s just say that he’s doesn’t always treat people right.” I blinked and cuddled in to the amazing chest that belong to my boyfriend. “Scorpius knows that, I guess that’s why he hit him today.” I laughed. “Yeah, he did a pretty good job didn’t he?” We shortly reached the portrait of the Fat Lady of whom Scorpius refers to as The Fatty, The Fat Woman or The Fat Geezer. He let go of my hand and planted a tiny kiss on my lips. I closed my eyes. “More.” “No.” he teased, turning me to the painting and laughing a little. “Oddabodikins.” Lysander smirked. “Uh, no thanks, I’m good.” I raised a brow skeptically. “It’s the password.” I repeated it to The Fat Lady. She raised an eyebrow towards Lysander. “You’re such a goon.” “Excuse me?” she screeched. “Oh no, not you ‘Mam.” I scuffed my feet slightly ashamed. She huffed and swung open babbling incoherently. Lysander whispered in my ear. “She strops like Scorpius.” I giggled. “She just needs to punch someone now.” “And then insult her friends.” “Ah, you can’t forget that one.” He smiled. “I’ll see you tomorrow?” I nodded. “Defiantly. I have a serious amount of groveling to do right now.” “Everything will be fine.” He said leaning back on to the stone wall before turning to jog down the stairs. “Night Willa.” “Night,” I whispered as I climbed through the portrait hole and arrived the stairs to the girls dormitories. Rose was sat on the end of her bed, her shoes kicked off and her Potions Homework roughly scribbled on to a piece of ripping parchment. She looked up as I entered before scoffing and returning to her work. I pulled off my ankle boots and kicked them under my bed; taking in Xander’s sent from his jacket. “Rose?” She resumed writing before huffing and then glowered. “Look I know that you’re upset with me right now. But to be honest, I don’t really understand why.” She snorted. “Rose will you just talk to me?” No answer. “Rose?” Suddenly felt a little of my skin tingle with anger. I had just witnessed the strongest person that I ever knew sob desperately. That’s what teenage years do to people. “Rosaline Weasley, will you talk to me?” She slammed her quill and parchment down on to her trunk, which was still placed at the end of her bed. “You want talk? Well here you go.” She took a deep breath, her eyes black with cold-blooded anger. “Every time something has the possibility of going wrong you and Scorpius immediately jump together, no questions asked. You always pair up; Al and I never stand a chance.” I took a step forward as she stepped back. “You saw what he did today; you saw how stupid he really was. He physically attacked Tadd. How could you side with him over that?” “Ok I admit that it probably wasn’t the best way to handle it bu-“ “The best way to handle it, he didn’t even give a reason to why he did it. He just kept on punching!” I sighed. “He maybe could have handled it bette-“ “Obviousily.” She not once took her eyes off of my form. “He’s confuse-“ “Don’t use that excuse, he is so not confus-“ “Stop interrupting me!” I shouted. Her eyes flashed. I never shout at Rose; hence why she stopped and looked a little shocked. I needed a way to rid myself of frustration. I took a deep breath in a pathetic attempt to calm myself. “There is a perfectly liable reason to his actions. I admit, he could have handled it all better – don’t you dare interrupt, close your mouth Rose – but if I was in the same position as him I would have reacted in the same way.” I slumped down on to my bed. “And no, I can’t tell you the reason. It’s not my secret to tell.” I could feel the hairs standing up on my arms. Her eyes faded from anger and she sat on the floor, pulling her duvet down with her. My hands shook. I knew if we carried on I would cry. I don’t deal well with arguments. Until this year, I was never a need for them. “Ok.” She said coolly but slowly, that one word piercing my heart a little. “I’m not sorry Willa. I stick by what I said. You two do partner together, it makes Al and I feel like twats.” Her words hung in the air between us. I knew that Scorpius wouldn’t choose me if he had the choice. It would be Rose every time. “I can’t even begin to explain just how wrong you really are.” An; … What does everyone think? What’s your opinions on Xander now? Love? Hate? Song? Kick? Cookie? What did you all think of Scorpius’s strop? Do you think he executed it like a Malfoy, or should he have just gone to the ‘Pansy Wing’ and have done with it? Chapter 8: Now Why would you Accuse me of That? [View Online] [Printer Friendly Version of This Chapter] ![]() Beautiful Chapter Image by FIND! @ tda. Rose and Scorpius Scorpius Malfoy I ripped open the door to the Entrance Hall. It slammed so hard the stone chipped; a second year stumbled backwards jumping to escape my pessimistic wrath. I clapped together my reddening palms, rubbing them to intensify the heat. Minutes remained until possibly the biggest match of the year; Ravenclaw V’s Slytherin, 40 minutes to be exact. Albus and I had spent the morning training, fitting in the last second preparations. The team was ready, I knew it. We are fearsome. We are terrifying. We are tragic. I wiped the dirt from my training robes and grabbed Rose’s shoulder with force, spinning her around to face me. She has avoided me, alike she has avoided Willa and Albus a little; they talk, but not as much. She turned around suddenly, a look of alarm on her face. The alarm visibly turned to rage. I didn’t blame her; Tadd still wasn’t released from the Hospital Wing. Willa visited him that night. Lord only knows what she said to him, but he hasn’t spoken. She can be pretty damn intimidating when she wishes. Rose looked about ready to wring my neck and beat me with a stick. “What do you want?” She snapped simply, still glaring with hate. I sighed, “To apologize.” She replaced her bag’s position on her shoulder, old textbooks and quills sticking from the top. “You’ve already done that.” She spat, her eyes electrifying. “So you can accept it then.” I narrowed my eyes, refusing to break. She lowered her voice so a minimal amount of attention was caught. “I’ll accept your apology when Albus can fly.” “Do you really think that will take long?” I reasoned. “That boy has managed to do some extraordinary things while at Hogwarts.” She didn’t look impressed. “Or just stick him on a broomstick.” She responded with a glare, and then three words, three simple words spoken everyday. Three words that can break your heart. “I hate you.” “No you don’t.” “Yes! I do!” She cried, beginning to walk away. Her words pierced my skin. I caught her arm and pulled her back. “Take it back.” My words were filled with bitterness. “I don’t say anything I don’t mean.” We only stared at one another, daring the other to break contact first. Finally I back out – this was Rose Weasley for crying out loud, I wasn’t going to win. “Rethink it; you’ll have a different answer.” “What the hell is that supposed to mean?” “Nothing.” I sighed; her jaw intense through anger. She bobbed her head. “Is that everything, can I go?” “No that’s not everything.” I echoed. “We still need to talk about what happened.” “No we don’t.” I huffed. “Rose, I know that you don’t want to, neither do I really-“ “Great, then we leave it.” “No, we don’t.” I felt my skin tingle with frustration as hers radiated anger. “We talk about it!” “No we DON’T!” She screeched, causing a boy to fall from the wall and another to run away. She breathed in deeply. “Fine, you wanna know what I have to say? What I think you should do?” she glowered. “I think that you should stick your head up your arse and eat your own underwear before I hex your arse back home. You are stupid and immature.” My head nodded slowly. “I deserve that.” “Yes, you bloody well do.” She shrieked. “You follow me around all day, not allowing anyone to even touch me that isn’t you, Willa or Al. Hell, you’d probably even crucify my own father if he got too close. You are insufferable. The one boy that actually likes me also happened to save Willa’s life and you still violently attack him! What the hell went on in your head?” “He’s not the only guy.” I muttered. “Huh?” I echoed my words. “I said he’s not the only guy that likes you.” “Oh Merlin’s pants,” She cursed. “Don’t play games with me Scorpius; I’m not in the mood.” “I’m not playing games with you Rosie!” “Well then!” She snapped, not once removing her eye contact from mine. “Explain to me what happened; tell me what goes on in that stupid head of yours. I can’t believe you, why you – I mean, what would drive you to want to do that?” “I couldn’t watch you and him – Urrgh” I felt my skin flush, every frustration I had felt exploded from me, every sprinkle of love I felt. “Rose. I couldn’t – I just – I –“ “Spit it out Scorpius!” I shuddered, this was it. “I’ve fallen in love so many times over the years … and every time it’s with you.” Her jaw opened a little. “When you’re not there it’s like I’m half the man I want to be. Like I’m missing something.” “Scorpius I-“ “No! Just let me finish. You always bloody interrupt people!” I ordered, stepping forward and letting go of her arm like it was on fire. “I love the way that in the mornings when you want to do your make up you sit in the sink just to get a little closer to the mirror. The way that when there’s dinner served you always have to eat your way through your plate clockwise. It’s so silly and obsessive but it’s you. When you do that adorable yawn of yours, or the way you look really annoyed when Albus and I do that stupidly embarrassing dance of ours – but I’ve seen you smile. I know that you smile at it.” Her hands shook, she was on the verge of tears. “There’s so much more I could mention Rosie, like the way that after you’ve had a shower you come and spray your wet hair over my face. The way that you leave little messages in the back of my textbooks, usually they involve my death, but I still love them.” There was a paused of silence. The corridor was silent, people were speechless. Why the hell I had chosen a corridor to tell her this. “The way that after a long day you jump in to my arms – no apparent reason, you just need a hug.” She whispered, but it was audible over the crowd. “Why are you telling me this?” “Because every time I look in to your beautiful eyes, I melt and fall in love with you again and again and again – I just finally needed you to know that.” “Oh,” she breathed out, as if there was nothing else to say. Every inch of me wanted the floor to open, for me to collapse and disappear. I turned around; feeling my heart beat so wildly I worried it would explode from my chest. I threw the door I appeared from open once more, leaving her to stand in the corridor. If after all that ‘Oh’ was all she was able to muster, why should I stay? I disappeared towards the Slytherin Changing Rooms, hearing the faint slam of the Entrance Hall door’s behind me. Twenty minutes in to the game; Forty six minutes since I singlehandedly chose to ruin my life and break my heart. No sobbing; I wasted that girly activity under the caring and watchful eyes of Willa. I felt every nerve in my body ache. I stared openly at my team with the Quaffle tightly in my grip. A bat was hung loosely from the beaters arm the other aiming one of the Bludgers towards a Ravenclaw Chaser. Xander was quick, between him and Brian they had already taken out a lot of our team members with the stone balls. I was fighting for a Slytherin Victory, but my heart just really wasn’t in it all that much. I couldn’t feel much heart break, I couldn’t allow it. She had trampled my heart so many times since Hogwarts, I had no more emotion left to cry with, nothing to fight with – no drive. “Scorpius!” Al called, flying past me. “Head in the game!” I had worked my entire Hogwarts life to play Quidditch Professionally; I wasn’t going to let it go this easily. Jr Jordan’s voice rang through out the pitch with a livid looking McGonagall stood behind him. There was most likely a thorough conversation before the match on his idea’s of fair words. I allowed my eyes to fall towards the hoop. I threw the Quaffle with as much strength as I could muster; it flew through the upper hoop and scored, flying out the other side and being easily caught by Lorcan; arse wipe. “Another 10 points to Slytherin!” Lee announced, having obviously obtained the microphone once again from the clutches of controlling Professor McGonagall. “And the bludger has escaped the stadium; good hit from Scamander, unfortunately, were now one bludger down. Well done ya’ prat! Maybe we could use the Hose Elves instead of the ball, they would probably be suitable repla-“ “Give me the mic-“ “No, Professor!” he cried. “No you can’t take th-“ McGonagall’s voice replaced the laughter in the stadium. “And Scamander still remains in lead with the Quaffle.” I looked up through the sky and noticed the Gryffindor stands. Willa in the middle, accompanied by Rose, hat’s thrown hastily on their heads and their cheers rang throughout the stadium alongside the rest. It really meant that little to her? The back of my neck tingled but I willed myself to resume. The Ravenclaw seeker patrolled, looking murderous. But he was nothing against our Al. He flew towards the Slytherin side of the pitch; leg’s tightly pressed against his broom as he went. I caught the falling Quaffle and sped towards the hoop, joining my team in the Puikui dive towards the white rings. The beaters were in play on the other end of the field, there was no one to stop us. There was an airy gap to my left where Lorcan should be, covering my right side from a possible bludger – or House Elf if Lee got his way. “Alas,” Lee’s voice rang, obtaining the microphone for possibly the seventh time this game, “There’s actually still a little team rivalry around as the Scamander twins halt the game!" A gasp echoed through the spectators, pulling the game to a halt. Lorcan was shoving Lysander off his broom – blood trickling from his mouth. Lysander shoved back, his brother attempting to regain balance on his broom. “Shitting hell.” Jordan breathed through the microphone, accompanied by a slap from McGonagall. His voice competed with the line between excitement and shrill. The crowd was in uproar, each cheering for their chosen side. Smaller fights had taken out thought the audience as I saw Rose bat a Second Year Hufflepuff around the head with her palm; he tripped down the stands. “Scamander!” A Professors shrill voice shrieked throughout the stadium. “Stop this instan-“ Another silence was heard throughout the stadium as a gasp occurred. Lysander gained his balance and ducked beneath his brother’s punch before lunging from his broom and taking his brother out through the stomach. All boundaries were crossed, the chances of these two being brothers? Shot. The professors had an agitated attack, each one reacting in a slight different manner. Each voice as frantic and as high-strung as the next. Albus pulled back the arm of Lorcan, resulting in his tumble from the broom and aching crash to the ground. This being wholly and entirely unexpected was what threw the school off. They were brothers, twins; and there was only one thing that they disagreed on. And she was sitting up in the stands with a livid expression worn on her face. “Well I think we guess what this fight’s about.” Lee announced, causing a rather large amount of students to turn to Willa. Rose kicked one of them in the groin. That’s my girl. Besides the threat thrown around of loosing their positions on the team, they continued to punch. I flew over, lobbing the Quaffle to the final Slytherin chaser and pulled back the arms of Lysander – considering that he was larger than me, it was a particularly difficult thing to accomplish. Despite all the threats and encouragement, there they both were, struggling against everyone, wrestling each other from their brooms. Lysander was one of the calmest people I know. Keeping every emotion bottled-up. Never showing fear or anger. He was perfect for Willa. That was when I realized. He was actually right for Willa – finally someone that I agreed with. Regardless of what they were fighting about, there was such emotion in his eyes, such anger. Such an obvious display of cold-blooded rage. It was something I had never seen before – something I had never experienced. The two of them slipped and came crashing down to the ground only a few feet below them. A series of tumbles and brutal cries and grunts was all that could be heard throughout the cheering. They landed on the floor, Lorcan first; receiving the time to clamber on to his brother and repeatedly knock back punches Around them players from both teams and members of the crowd arrived, the Slytherin’s staying halt and the Ravenclaw’s attempting to retrieve their player. Some Gryffindor’s looked positively stunned. Flitwick unable to move; his star student violently attacking his brother in plain sight, like there wasn’t a care in the world. Brian and Slughorn were both making a pathetic attempt to pry the brothers off each other as Xander flipped his brother over and the tables turned. I walked over, grabbing Xander from behind and successfully pulling him from his brother, Albus helping up our Chaser. I pulled his arms back tighter, making it impossible for movement. “Xander, what the h-“ “He kissed her! That bloody campfire” He growled. “Then called her a Mudblood!” I gasped “He dared call Willa a Mudblood!” he shouted, blood spitting from his mouth with words, his brother looking rather pleased with himself. A smirk appeared on Lorcan’s face, throughout the black and blue. I released Xander’s arms and watched him run for his brother’s stomach, tackling him to the ground as they rolled over the floor, taking down members of the crowd with them. McGonogall raised her eyebrows to me through the panic. “He’s very strong.” I admitted, hiding back a smile. If someone had the nerve to call my baby such a filthy word, then let them die. Albus strolled over and nudged me with his shoulder. “So, Xander’s escape had absolutely nothing to do with Lorcan insulting Willa? Did it?” I shook my head innocently. “Now why would you accuse me of that?” Albus smirked. “At least we know something.” I raised a brow in confusion. Albus had a knack for talking in parts. “He’s fighting for Willa. At least we know that he’s good enough for her, we’ve found the one person who would react to something like that the way we do.” If anything, I was sure a small amount of disappointment reeked through Albus’s eyes. I nodded my head confidently and turned my gaze in to the direction of the shouting boys. “I think that you’re right my friend. I think that you’re right.” “MALFOY!” McGonagall screeched. “Split them up.” She indicated to the wrestling twins, of which I must say Xander was now winning. I reluctantly jogged back over, stepping over the Quidditch equipment that they had successfully crashed through, resulting in broken wood and stone to be left lying around carelessly. With a final punch to Lorcan’s face I pulled Xander from him, throwing them apart to the floor. I may have ‘accidentally’ stepped on Lorcan while doing this. The jeering and heckling from the teachers began; resulting in an assortment of boo’s and cheers from the stands. There was a silent pause over the stadium. “Is this where I mention that I caught the snitch?” Al asked, opening up his palm to reveal a small golden ball resting lightly in his palm. The breath caught of every being at that moment. McGonagall was the first to step forward. “Wh … what – how. Potter? Wh-” “While the fight was going on.” He explained with a shrug. “It was when Lorcan elbowed me in the stomach and I fell, I caught the snitch on my way down – well sat on it is a little more precise. But thanks any way mate!” He said, receiving small thumbs up from Lorcan, who was still lying on the ground. McGoogles took the golden ball. “I can’t believe that I caught the snitch between my bum cheeks.” Unsurprisingly, the small winged ball dropped to the floor quicker than though imaginable. The stadium erupted; wild cheers and screams came from the crowd as half the school jumped on top of Albus. His cried out in mocking pain could be heard throughout. I jogged over to the twins, Lorcan, who was still lying on the floor, had no intent of moving, I ignored. Xander on the other had no intention of staying put and had walked a few meters. I ran in to him and supported his left side. “The tables have turned now eh?” he groaned. I snorted. “You seem a little worse off than I did.” He spat a mouthful of blood on to the floor next to him, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. His brother probably caused internal damage at the rate they were at it, they were hitting harder than I was – and their identical. Actually now I think about it, Xander’s a little bigger than Lorcan. Ha, take that sad and lonely grass layer. Willa walked toward us both, her eyes filled with purpose. Most would expect a hug, a pat on the shoulder – not a sucker punch in the stomach. Lysander bent over in pain while Willa took deep breaths. She threw her plaits behind her, ignoring them when they bounced back. She was supporting the Ravenclaw scarf but my Slytherin jumper. Crazy woman. “How dare you?” She hissed. “What the hell was wrong with you? Do you know how badly you could have jeopardized yourself out there? How much crap you’ve caused?” “Willa I-“ “No, no reasoning!” She demanded. “You have made fools out of yourselves. I never expected that from you – Lorcan maybe, but not that much. You don’t like violence, you’re Xander!” She took a deep breath. “Just look at you.” She whispered through teary eyes. “You’re all hurt and stuff.” He smirked a little. “This isn’t funny Xander. You must be in so much pain right now. Go to Madame Pomfrey.” Lysander stared, confusion enveloping his features. “Going to the Hospital Wing is for pansy’s.” he stated, echoing my words. I nodded my head in admiration before stopping due to the death-glare that I received from his girlfriend, my nod turned to a head-shake. I’m so going to die for that later. “You’re spending, way, to much time with Scorpius.” He didn’t deny it but instead shrugged. “Don’t act like that with me! Xander you could have killed yourself. What the hell came over you?” He tried to reason. “God damnit...” he shook his head, trailing off. “It doesn’t matter, it’s in the past.” She snorted and rolled her eyes. Such a lady. Her eyes shortly narrowed as she removed her gloves from her hands and shoved them in to her pockets. “Oh piss.” “Huh?” “Tell me I am not the reason for that!” she spat, pointing at Lorcan, still huddled on the grass. His gaze fell to the floor. “No, that would be my mother and father’s doing.” She slapped his shoulder, even he could see she was now at breaking point. “It might have had a small imapc-“ “You are such a dolt!” Her eyes flew shut. “Merlin Lysander.” “Well gee.” He sarcastically answered, “Thanks for your massive amount of concern.” She flipped her plaits over her shoulder once more, rescuing her hat. “Don’t get snippy with me Xander.” He smiled a little. He loved her attention, even if it was only this kind. He couldn’t make it any less obvious. He wanted her undivided – whether or not livid – and completely lovable full on attention. “I thought that fight would have been over the game or something!” “Do you realise how badly you could have hurt yourself. Look at you, you’re bleeding and bruised and – and.” A tear fell from her eye, it hurt her to see him like this; not something either of us considered. “You’re a stupid, stupid idiot.” She yelped, smacking him in the chest with her gloves. He laughed a little more. “Lysander Scamander, this is not a laughing matter – I will write to you mother Goddamni-“ He shook me off a little, taking a step towards his girlfriend. “Willa.” He groaned. “Shut up.” He swiveled her around to face him properly, placed his hands around her tiny waist and captured her lips with his in yet another kiss that I really didn’t want to witness. Her face adorably crumpled in to a genially happy smile. She dropped the glove that she was holding, letting it fall to the floor – a lot like Al, when he tumbled from his broom. Willa hands drifted to around his neck delicately. She pressed one hand to his cheek and he winced in reaction. She jumped back a little but he only pulled her to him once more. He didn’t care that he was in pain, he only wanted Willa. Twat. Before you could blink they were at it again, being the poster children for the epiphany of love. I kicked the ground, ignoring the celebrations around me. Slytherin had won. Our next match against Hufflepuff; not as easy to beat as you’d think. Screams of celebration struck, but celebrating was the last thing I wanted to be doing. Lysander bloody lost and he was still obviously enjoying himself. I took a deep breath and walked towards the Changing Rooms; I would take a nice hot shower and go to bed. Willa would probably join me in truth; somewhere around 10. She would run up and ump in to bed with me or Al. Rose used to do it too, but I doubt that’s happening this time. I need to write strategies, I might as well get started, even though Albus is the Captain. From the way that Pritchard is currently sitting on him I would guess that he isn’t going to be planning our next game tonight. “Albus!” Willa could be heard, probably tearing herself away from Scamander – I guess I’m gunna have to start calling him Xander or sommit now aren’t I? “Albus, Merlin KEEP YOUR BLOODY TROUSERS ON!” “-if they end up on my hut again Albus!” “Al! This is so inappropriate.” “Mr. Potter!” “Merlin’s pants!” “- Oh lord, He really does have Merlin on his pants!” A tinkering laugh could be heard from behind me. “I think I bought him those.” No, it couldn’t be. “I love it when you get super excited if I tell you that I’ coming over.” My heart emotionally stopped. “I love it when you cuddle me if I’m cold. The way that you turn down all of your guy mates to show that you would rather be with me.” “Rose?” A tear slowly escaped down her flawless cheek. “You always laugh at the stupid and totally unfunny jokes that I make, the way that you always come up and hug me, just to show that you care – or the way that you pick me up and carry me around like a Princess in your back garden, just for fun.” I wiped the tear from her cheek. “The way that you never let me cry, you always keep me strong.” I smiled effortlessly before speaking with a drunken happiness. “What does that mean?” She chewed her lip – her way of showing nerves and twisted her slender fingers with a smile. “It means kiss me stupid.” I blinked and her lips were on mine. I felt her shudder as our lips met. Her hands slid around my waist and pulled me close. I nearly tripped it was so sudden. After all these years of thinking, I never once imagined that it would be like this. The cheesy way that she made my heart flutter, my temperature rise. I nipped at her bottom lip and grazed my hand gently against her cheek, my face still elegantly sweaty and my hair stuck to my brow. Moments later we were forced apart by a sound of violent crashes. “What the-“ “I bet it has something to do with Albus.” Rose giggled, pulling down on my robes to bring my face back to hers. “Wait,” I mumbled, pushing her face away from mine. “What about Tadd?” She shrugged. Her eyes bore forcefully in to mine. It’s over.” I heard the wolf whistles, but had no intention of finding out the root of the sound. All I could think to do was smile – so that’s what I did. I got my Happy Ending. I finally frickin got it. So there it was. The final chapter. I hope that you all enjoyed it and also that it lived up to your expectations. I hope that you all enjoyed the story and that you had as greater ride with it as I did. :) Thank you so much for reading. http://www.harrypotterfanfiction.com |
