Read it!” She said, Smiling like she never smiled before. “Dear Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, 15 years ago, A Daughter was taken from your family. After many years of Searching, we have finally found her. She was under the Name of Veronica. As soon as you receive this letter, come down to The Ministry Headquarters. Anita Melie Weasley will be waiting for you. -Cornelius Fudge, Minister of Magic.” Arthur Read, Smiling more every sentence he read. Then He remembered what happened. ____ “Molly! The Deatheaters! They are here! Annie and Ron are sleeping! Get them and run! I got Fred, George, Percy, Bill and Charlie! Hurry!” Arthur said. Molly ran into the twin’s Room and scooped them up. She crawled out the Window. Soon, she was caught and The Deatheater tried to get to Both Ron and Annie but only managed to get Annie from Her grasp. She screamed and tossed herself forward as the Deatheater apperated. ____ “This is Really Happening?” Arthur said. “Get Bill and Charlie here! And the twins!” She Ran to the fireplace and Called for Bill and Charlie and then Percy. Arthur Walked upstairs and Walked into Fred and George’s Room and Shook them awake. “Wha’s wong?” George muttered. “Get up. Annie!” Arthur said. “No. Our names are Fred and George.” Fred said. “No. Annie. Annie Weasley. Annie Melie Weasley.” Arthur said. “Annie? The sister? You said she was dead.” George said. “No. Get up. We are going to get her now. I want you to go. You knew her. We will tell Ron when he gets home. He really didn’t remember her.” Arthur said. “We were only two.” Fred said. “Ahh…. The Age of Innocence…” George said dreamily. “Right. Now, hurry up and get dressed!” Arthur said and left the room. ![]() “Mr. and Mrs. Weasley and Family. So great to see you!” Fudge said. “Annie is in the Next room. She is quite startled, of course. She was off to a distant school to keep from your other Children.” Fudge said. “Can we see her?” Molly said eagerly. “Not yet. She needs to be calmed down a bit first. She is still in shock and of course, The Malfoy’s have been taken to Azkaban. Draco is staying at the Crabbe’s.” Fudge said. ![]() “You can see her now.” The Weasley’s piled in and Molly Ran up and hugged her right away, sobbing. Annie just stood there. She had only been hugged twice in her entire life, and those were from her mother. Once when she fell off her broom from a Bludger and Her mother hugged her because she was crying. She never cried anymore, though. She was 6 then. She had only hugged her stiffly. And also the time when she was putting on an act for the neighbors. She didn’t know what to do. She didn’t even know who she was. Veronica or Annie? Malfoy or Weasley? She had the Blonde hair, she couldn’t be a Weasley. Finally, Mrs. Weasley Pulled away and looked at her, Tears of joy falling down her face. “Who am I?” She said. “Annie Weasley, dear.” Mrs. Weasley said. “I don’t get anything!” Annie pounded on the desk. “I have BLONDE hair! What happened that I am switching families? What did I do?” “Nothing!” Mrs. Weasley said, taken back a little. “It wasn’t your fault.” She said something and her hair turned coldish, and then she saw it turn a fiery red. “I don’t remember anything about you people. Just that you were a poor and a Disgraced Family!” Annie said, softly. She held out a piece of red hair, and looked at it shocked and afraid. “W-well, we may be poorer than the Malfoy’s but we are certainly not disgraced!” Molly said. “I only know how to be Veronica Malfoy. I don’t know how to be a…a… a Weasley!” Annie said and ran out the door. ![]() Fred and George found her sitting under a desk in the offices. There were dent marks in the desk where she pounded it in frustration. “Boy, she is just like Ginny.” Fred laughed. “I swear-“ Annie said, narrowing her eyes and prepared to threaten them. “Don’t swear. It’s not polite!” George smiled. “Rid me of your Presence, Weasley!” She hissed. “You are a Weasley, are you not?” “I am not. I am Veronica Malfoy, Daughter of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy.” Annie hissed, eyes flaring. “You are Annie Weasley, Daughter of Arthur and Molly Weasley.” Fred mocked her. She pulled her arm back and punched him square in the face. Fred fell back, clutching his nose that began to run blood. She stepped over him and stomped out of the room, to find somewhere else to hide. She found a sanitary closet and hid behind a stack of blankets. It wasn’t long before she saw another red-head staring at her. “Annie, Come out.” The voice said. She stuck her nose in the air, and turned away from him. “I am not ‘Annie.’” “Fine then. Veronica, come out, please.” “I am going back home after this.” She turned a bit. “Who are you?” “Bill Weasley. Saw what you did to Fred. Must say you are quite strong. Please come out. Mum and Dad are worried sick.” “I am fine where I am thanks.” Annie brought her knees back up to her chest. Scooting further into the closet, away from Bill. “Please. Otherwise, I will have Mum and Dad come get you, and Percy with them. I will get him started with a conversation with cauldron leaks. That’s torture.” Bill smiled, holding out his hand. Annie studied him for a while and then took it, letting him pull her out. She was guided back to the room where she first met the Weasley’s. She was looking at the ground, glaring at it as if this whole mess was its fault. “Oh, Dear, There you are.” Molly scurried over, tears streaming down her face. Annie looked at her, immediately softening her face to look polite. “My you look just like we pictured you would. Ginny will absolutely love you. I expect Ron will, too. The twins… will be punished.” “I… I’m sorry Mrs. Weasley. My home is with the Malfoy’s. I cannot leave them. They are my family.” Annie said in a soft, but polite tone. Molly looked as if she was going to cry again. “Dear, you were kidnapped when you were around one year old. You are not blood-related to the Malfoy’s.” Molly murmured voice squeakier. “They are the only family I know.” Annie muttered, looking at the ground. “You can get to know us. I-If you c-can’t find yourself comfortable there after a y-year, Y-you may move in with Draco at the Crabbe’s.” Molly cried. Annie stared into her warm brown eyes. They weren’t cold like she normally saw at the Manor. She found herself nodding, when she intended to shake her head. Molly gave her a huge hug. Arthur and Molly both took turns hugging her. She was getting to like hugging more and more. “Aw, great. Does this mean we have yet ANOTHER sibling?!” Fred chuckled, clutching his nose. “Quiet, Frederick.” Molly shot him a look. “Let’s get going then; I really need to be getting back to work on the Cauldron Leaks.” Percy folded his arms, not knowing what to make of the situation. Bill, Charlie and the twins moaned and cast him looks. “Don’t look at me like that.” He tried to look innocent. “Welcome Home.” Arthur and Molly sang. Annie looked around. It was very homely. It looked very second hand. She forced a smiled. “Mum, Dad were have you been?” Ron asked, not noticing Annie in the corner. “Why is everybody here?” “Because- Ron, you better sit down. Get Ginny in here too-“ “I’m here. What’s going on? Who’s she?” She pointed to Annie, who was covered head to toe in pitch-black soot. ![]() “I HAVE A SISTER?!” Ginny squealed in delight. “She is Ron’s Twin sister.” Molly put an arm around Annie. “I HAVE A TWIN?!” Ron yelled, shocked. “WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME?” “We couldn’t. Molly couldn’t bear to.” Arthur said. Annie stared hard at the table. She didn’t know what to make of the situation. To break the tension, Annie asked if she could take a shower. “Oh yes, of course dear. Here is a dress you can wear for today until we get a trip to Diagon Alley.” Molly held out a pink faded flowered dress that went to her knees. “The towels are on the bottom shelf and the shampoo and conditioner are on the top one.” “Thank you.” Annie murmured and half-ran to the bathroom. She took a shower, taking an hour to get all of the soot from her hair. She changed into the dress, which fit her well, and walked into the kitchen, to see Ginny sitting by the table, reading. Annie shakily walked over, and sat down. “Hello.” She murmured. Ginny jumped a bit. “Hello, Annie.” She smiled. “Can I ask you-“ Annie began. “Anything.” “Where will I sleep, I mean-“ She blushed a bit, thinking she sounded dumb. Ginny smiled. “In my room. Follow me!” She said and put the book onto a shelf and led her up to the 2nd floor, into a room with pink walls and two beds. Bill and Charlie were putting matching yellow sheets on the second bed. She guessed it was hers. “Ron’s outside, de-gnoming with the twins. Mum wants you to meet Ron. He is your twin you know. He wasn’t happy when he was told you were raised by Malfoy’s. He is taking it out on the gnomes.” Charlie smiled, setting a pillow on the bed. Annie smirked, but it wasn’t the traditional Malfoy smirk. “Come on, then Annie.” Ginny said. Annie looked at the ground a bit when she was called Annie. It’s a name she would have to get used to. She followed them down the creaky stairs and out into the garden. The twins where spinning around and throwing small creatures that reminded her of the creatures at Beauxbatons, her school. Ginny took her hand and lead her to the hedge. Annie stayed away from the rampaging gnomes. They looked gross and dangerous. “They won’t bite.” George smiled. “Much.” Annie’s eyes widened and she climbed up on a stone ledge, to keep away from them. She saw Ron kicking one over the hedge, causing him to get it quite far and also to make him hold his foot in a pained fashion. She winced. “They won’t hurt you if you pick them up like this.” Fred said and grabbed one by the leg, and swung it around his head, let go of it and it flew about 30 feet. Annie just stared, but one of the small creatures made its way unto the ledge, and began running for her. She screamed, jumped down and ran back to the house. She found the twins laughing at her, and Ginny hitting them on the head. She checked to see if the creature was on her, or around her. She slowly walked back, watching the ground cautiously. “It wasn’t funny.” She frowned when the twins howled with laughter. Ron walked over, not noticing Annie. “She-“ Fred gasped for air, through the laughter. “She- She is afraid of gnomes!” He fell to the ground, holding his stomach. Ron looked up, and his face glared. Annie just stared at him. “Still here, are you?” Ron hissed, which took her back. The twins stopped laughing instantly. “Why don’t you go back to the Malfoy’s where you belong?” “Ron!” Ginny warned. “We are, ‘Poor and disgraced,’ are we not? Go back to those Deatheaters you call family. I don’t want you here. You Slytherin!” Ron hissed. Annie glared, furiously, and charged for him. George held her back, while Ron was being held back by Fred. The younger twins yelled at each other, loudly. “Why you little! How dare you! Never in my life have I seen Deatheaters in the manor! You take that back! You have no Idea who I am!” “Never! It’s true! Mum and Dad couldn’t bear to have a Slytherin in the family! Why don’t you just leave now and spare them the pain!” “I am not Slytherin! I don’t even go to Hogwarts for your information, Weasley!” Annie yelled, swinging in every direction, to get to Ron. “Stop it!” Ginny pleaded. “You will be this year! A letter came in the mail, did you know? You have been accepted to Hogwarts! Why they would accept you, I do not know. Only You-know-who would want you!” Ron yelled back. Annie looked as if she was slapped in the face. Her face quickly turned into fury and she flung her fists in every direction, while George tried his best to keep her from getting to Ron. “LET GO OF ME!” Annie screamed, and escaped his grasp and made it to Ron for only a second, her hands around his throat, but was captured again by George. “Get off me!” “What IS going on here?!” Came a shrilly voice from the house and Mrs. Weasley charged out. Everyone froze, and Ron turned white. “Nothing, Mum!” Ron said, quickly. “Two people trying to kill each other is not nothing.” She hissed. “Well Ron, here was making a few comments about our Annie.” George scowled. “And they weren’t very good comments.” “Ronald Weasley!” Molly yelled. Ron cowered. Annie beamed. “What in heavens name made you say things bad about her?” “She was raised as a Malfoy!” Ron defended himself. Mrs. Weasley took him by the ear and dragged him back to the house. Annie smiled. “That didn’t go real well, did it?” Ginny sighed. “Er… want to de-gnome, Annie?” George asked, trying to change the subject. Annie stared at him and then one of the gnomes. “I… will try.” Annie frowned. The twins lit up and walked over to a gnome. “First, catch them by the leg. Go on.” Fred said as he picked one up. Annie walked behind another one, and nervously picked one up by the leg, but dropped it right away when she saw its teeth. “Bad Idea to drop them. They will go try to defeat the one who dropped him. You are lucky.” George said as the gnome ran under a bush. Annie shivered, and found a small one and lifted it up. She did what the twins did, and swung it over her head, but got a few feet behind the hedge. “Pitiful.” Fred grinned. Annie glared. “I remember your first time de-gnoming…” Ginny put her hands on her hips. “It went backward and hit the window.” Annie grinned and Fred blushed. Annie got used to de-gnoming, if she didn’t look at it in the face. Once she got 40 feet, but that was when the gnome was knocked out and didn’t try to hang on. “Oh, Annie, You didn’t need to de-gnome the garden, my dear!” She smiled. “You just got here.” “I haven’t done it before! But it was pretty cool! I got mine 40 feet!” Annie said, proudly. “When Fred first started-“ Molly smiled. “She already was told.” Fred said miserably. Molly chuckled. “Its time for Lunch.” She said. “Wash up, now.” She walked back inside. They led her to a hose and a bar of soap outside. “Why do we wash our hands out here?” Annie asked curiously. “Because, the gnome’s skin has germy stuff that attracts Maslayias.” Ginny muttered as she sprayed her hands clean. “Yeah, Mum doesn’t want it inside.” George sighed. Annie shrugged. She washed her hands and they went inside. “Annie, Ron has something to say to you.” Arthur said. “Sorry.” Ron muttered. Annie nodded, though not forgiving him. They all sat down and began to eat. “So, Annie, What are your favorite foods?” Molly asked, brightly. “Er… I like Mashed Potatoes and Pasta.” Annie mumbled. “Ron’s as well.” She smiled. Annie glanced at Ron who narrowed his eyes slightly. “What are your favorite breakfast items?” “I…. I like bacon…” She looked down, feeling awkward. “Right.” Molly smiled. “We will have that tomorrow.” “So, Anita-“ Percy said. “Er… I thought it was Annie.” Annie said, confused. “Your nickname is Annie, Dear.” Molly smiled. “And your middle name is Melie. Ginny’s middle name is Anne, after you.” “Really?” Annie asked. “Why.” “Because, when you were taken, I named her after you, so I could have part of you with us. You see, we thought they killed you.” Arthur explained. “I was going to say before, Are you interested in the Ministry?” Percy asked, quietly. “Um… I am not really sure…” She saw everyone but Percy, Molly, Arthur and Ron shake their heads. “Would you like to help me sometime? I work for the ministry, and I have to work on a few things.” Percy brightened. “Sure.” Annie shrugged. Percy positively beamed. “Boring business, it is.” George sniggered. Molly shot him a look. “It is very important work, George. The ministry is counting on me. It’s a very big responsibility.” Percy stiffly replied. “Here, you can borrow a pair of my pajamas.” Ginny tossed her a large night-shirt that was really long. It went to her ankles. How Ginny could have walked in it, was a mystery. Annie got into her bed, and looked at the ceiling. “Do you like it here, Annie?” Ginny asked. “I don’t know.” Annie said. “It is so different from the manor.” “Do you think you could see yourself living here?” Ginny asked. “Promise not to tell anybody?” Annie replied. Ginny stiffened, but nodded. “Yes.” Annie sighed. “Why can’t I tell anybody?” Ginny asked. “Because. If Draco ever found out I would be in big trouble. I couldn’t look him in the face.” Annie sighed. “Half of me is Annie Weasley, the other half is Veronica Malfoy. How could my parents- I mean the Malfoy’s… do that to me? Kidnapping? That was low.” “You fit more as a Weasley. You don’t have the blonde hair.” Ginny said. “I USED to have blonde hair, you know…” Annie smiled. Ginny smiled too, and turned away, snuggling under her own covers. Annie smirked and looked at a picture of the Weasley family, waving. She saw two other people she didn’t know, too. One with bushy brown hair, and one with a scar…. Wait… Harry Potter! ![]() She felt something walking around on her stomach. Trying to push it away, she failed and received a sharp pain in her hand. She jumped and saw a small brown potato-like creature looking back with barred teeth. She screamed with all her might. She tossed it on the floor, and climbed on the windowsill, still screaming. Ginny woke up and covered her ears. She saw a gnome jumping, trying to get on the windowsill. She saw Annie’s face covered in butter. Arthur and Molly were in front looking around frantically. Percy had a hand over his mouth, and the twins had their eyes closed a bit, trying to wake up Annie noticed Ron wasn’t there. Fred picked the gnome up and left the room, looking irritable from being woken up so early. “What happened?” Molly asked, looking at the butter. “Why do you have butter on your face?” Annie looked at her confused and wiped some off with two fingers. Her eyes narrowed and she bolted out the door but was caught around the stomach by Arthur. She tried, uselessly to get away. “Ron. Did. It. I. Know. It!” She hissed, trying to get away. “He will pay!” “RONALD WEASLEY! GET DOWN HERE THIS INSTANT!” Molly screamed up the stairs. Ginny moaned, pulling her covers over her head. “It’s too early for this…” George slumped off to his bedroom. Annie stomped off to the bathroom and washed her face, hearing Mrs. Weasley’s screams. “-HOW DARE YOU? WHAT HAS SHE DONE TO YOU?-“ Annie stomped out passed the garden, by a small pond and kicked rocks into the water, resting her head on a tree. She heard really faint yelling. But she couldn’t listen much longer, her eyes closed and she fell asleep. She woke up the next morning, in her bed. Was it a dream? Why was she still here? “You ‘wake?” Ginny mumbled. Annie turned to her and nodded. “Ron can be such a dork. There is no way I am related to him.” Ginny smiled weakly, rubbing her eyes. Annie smirked. “Uh... I am so tired, but I can’t go back to sleep.” Ginny huffed. “Ah, you’re up.” Percy walked in. “I was hoping to work on the project today. Are you still up for it?” “Up? No, I’m still sleepy. But sure I’ll help.” Annie smirked. Percy looked at her, confused. “Yes.” “That’s great! I was hoping you wouldn’t sink to Fred and George’s level. That’s the path that Ron is taking. Ginny, I hope you know what’s best for you too.” Percy said. “Yeah. Sure.” Ginny mumbled, pulling her pillow over her head. “Alright. Mum’s washed yesterday’s clothes for you.” Percy held out the dress. “See you in my room.” With that he left. “What Percy is trying to accomplish is stupid. Cauldron Leaks.” Ginny said. “So that’s what you will be doing.” “Hey, I want to get to know everyone better.” Annie shrugged and went into the closet and changed. She walked to Percy’s room and looked at a small clock on his desk. 5:15! “Alright. Now I have to work on Cauldron Leaks. It has to work on all potions, without leaking. I have this chart so far.” Percy took out a piece of tag board about the size of the kitchen table. In tiny writing, it had all the lists of potions, what they reflect and what keeps them stronger. “So, I tried from here… to here…” He pointed to the front and to the middle. He took out a box, about the size of a pillow. He took out a finger-nail-sized cauldron and enlarged it. “Wouldn’t you just use the Kilo Potion for the insides… you know, to give it extra hold, so the potion cant burn through it. And then a Lightening spell or something to take off extra weight.” Annie yawned, her head in her hands, dozing off once or twice. “But… wait…” Percy got from his chair and took out another box full of different potions that had been shrunk to fit into the box. He took a red one out and scrubbed the inside with it, and made it feel lighter. He mixed potions quickly. “Breakfast!” Molly called up the stairs. “Er… Percy… Percy? Its breakfast time… Percy…?” Annie tried to say something, but he was too caught up in his work. She walked downstairs, meeting Ron half way. She glared at him, and he glared right back. Annie stomped down the stairs. “Good Morning dears.” Molly smiled, until Ron came down. “Ron, you will be cleaning the attic today. I don’t know what has gotten into you but you better shape up! We will be going to Diagon Alley to get some clothes, later on, and when we get home you better march up there and clean.” “Yes, Mum.” Ron sighed as he sat down. Everybody glared, but not as bad as Annie. “Nice going Ron, How did you know we liked being woken up at 1:00 in the morning?” Fred asked irritable. Ron glared at his plate. “No more talk about this.” Arthur said, as Errol toppled in. Annie looked at it curiously. Arthur took to paper, and Annie took the owl in her arms. “Is he okay?” Annie asked. “He’s fine.” Ron snapped. She glared. “Hey, how did they get this? Fudge said he would keep it secret for a while.” Arthur sighed. He handed it to Molly, who read it and clicked her tongue. Then she got to read it. _______________________________________ Missing Weasley FOUND! by wendy green Anita Melie Weasley, Daughter of Arthur and Molly Weasley, was found a few days ago, after being kidnapped for 14 years. She was in good condition and not found to have been neglected or abused. The girl had been taken from the Weasley home when she was a little under a year old. She is now safe with the Weasley’s after living with the Malfoy family most of her life. Lucius Malfoy denied having Anita with him, but having his own daughter, Veronica Louise Malfoy. “We never took the Weasley girl! Veronica is ours!” Quoted Narcissa Malfoy, crying. “I should know! I am the mother!” When in truth, their correct daughter was killed the very night that Anita was taken. Investigators say they found the baby blanket that Anita was wrapped in when she disappeared, in the Malfoy residence. What happened to the real Veronica Malfoy is a mystery we are currently trying to figure out. A few sources say they think Lucius had strangled the child, when it was asleep, and to hide it from Narcissa, he took Anita. We are still trying to get enough proof of this. The Malfoy’s have temporarily been taken to Azkaban. We will try to get information from the Weasley’s. ____________________________________ Annie dropped the letter in shock. Her father couldn’t have done this! Never! She refused to believe it. “It’s okay, dear…” Molly comforted her. “He would NEVER do that! Never!” Annie gasped. “HE COULD TOO! YOU ARE JUST TRYING TO COVER UP FOR THEM SO YOU CAN GET THEM OUT OF AZKABAN AND GO LIVE WITH THEM AND BECOME A DEATHEATER!” Ron yelled. “RONALD WEASLEY! GET UPSTAIRS RIGHT NOW!” Molly yelled, standing from her chair. Annie was being held back, yet again, by Arthur. “YOU HAVE NO IDEA, RON! NO IDEA! YOU DON’T KNOW THEM HOW I DO! I WONT BECOME A DEATHEATER! YOU BELONG IN AZKABAN FOR BEING SUCH A WORTHLESS PIECE OF GARBAGE!” Annie screamed as Ron left the room, stomping up the stairs. Molly following him. She still fought to get away, but not as much as before. “Annie. He didn’t mean it. He just in shock and he goes to school with Draco. Let’s just say they don’t get along.” Arthur tried to explain. Annie looked at the stairway fiercely, but sat down in her seat. Everybody was just staring. “What?” She muttered. They looked back to their food. “Is Ron coming?” Ginny asked. “Yes.” Molly said. “Make sure to tell me if he does anything stupid. I need to go make a stop first. I’ll meet you at Walters here is 10 galleons.” “Okay, Mum.” Ginny said and Ron walked down, arms folded and glaring at Annie. Ginny rolled her eyes and stepped into the fireplace. “Diagon Alley!” She disappeared, and Annie walked forward, but Ron pushed her back and walked in first. “Diagon Alley.” He disappeared like Ginny. Annie did the same, and found herself in Diagon Alley. She found Ginny and Ron, and she walked in front of Ron and kicked some dirt backwards. He stepped on her heals, and then she stepped on his foot, when he tried to do it again. It was a silent war between the two, until they found a store near the entrance to Knockturn Alley. “Bet you go in there daily.” Ron muttered. “How much you want to bet?” Annie hissed as they entered Walters second-hand Robes. Ginny took her strait to the skirts. Annie tried on different shades of bright colored things, because she always wore black, green, grey, and sometimes white. Ron sat on a bench and folded his arms. They went to the tops, and she got a lot of yellow-colored things. Her new favorite color is Yellow. She got a yellow bathrobe that had little flowers on the sleeves and belt. They paid for the clothes, which was 6 galleons, 2 Knuts and 7 sickles. When they got outside, Annie was pulled aside by an unseen person, when Ginny and Ron’s bags split. It was her former brother, Draco. Her eyes lit up. “Draco, what are you-” Annie smiled. “Save your breath, Veronica.” He said in a low voice that made her smile falter. “Father and Mother will be out of Azkaban soon. I know it. You better clean up your act. If they ever find out you changed your hair color…” He looked at it in disgust. “Or that you are wearing those kind of rags and enjoying everything, you will pay.” She looked at him with wide eyes, in fear. “They have been really nice-” Annie moaned, he held on to her wrist, hard. “It’s just a trick. They want to get back at our parents!” He hissed. “No they don’t-” Annie pleaded, which received her a slap across the face. “You are trying to make out our parents as some kind of criminals!” He hissed; as she held her face with her other hand, tears running down her face. “They are not!” Annie fought up the courage to say, which received her a smack in the face. She fell to the ground, holding her nose. “Draco, please!” “No, you listen to me, don’t get so cozy with the Weasley’s. They want our fortune!” He hissed. “THEY DO NOT!” Annie spat. Draco looked shocked that she talked to him like that and kicked her in the leg. She howled in pain. “Hey, what are you doing to her?!” Ginny cried as she ran forward, and fell to the ground next to her. Ron just looked in shock, at Annie while she was on the ground, holding a bloody nose. He suddenly turned to Draco and punched him square in the face. “What are you trying to do, Malfoy?!” Ron yelled, watching him hold his own nose. Draco just glared and trudged into the darkness of Diagon Alley. He looked at her, in shock. Malfoy just hit her; she must not have liked them. He held out his hand to help her up. She looked at him as if he were crazy. “You think I will forgive you just like that?” She hissed, got up by herself, and stomped through the crowd. She found running water and she washed her face off. She found her mother in the Leaky Cauldron, and walked over. She smiled when she sat down. “Did you find a few nice clothes?” She asked sweetly. Annie looked down a bit and nodded. “Is anything the matter?” “No.” Annie sighed. She looked into the crowd, and she saw a flash. She jumped. A few reporters ran over, with pads of paper and cameras. She covered her eyes. “-What was living at the Malfoy’s like for you Anita?-“ “-What are the Weasley’s like for you?-“ “-Which do you like better? The Malfoy’s or Weasley’s?-“ Annie was taken back, and stared. She couldn’t stay here, it was awkward and embarrassing. She got up and ran into the crowd, until she ran into somebody. She fell back a bit. She looked up at the hand, which was offering to help her up, she took it and stood up. It was a very familiar face. Then it came to her, when she remembered the picture in Ginny’s room. “Harry Potter?” Her mouth dropped. He grinned weakly. “Wait! Anita!” Came a few voices from behind her. She looked over her shoulder. She looked back to Harry. “Sorry, got to go!” She said weakly and ran past him, leaving him looking confused. She ran as fast as she could, until she found a dark corner, where she couldn’t be seen. Annie rested and moaned. This was great. First she ran into her ex-brother, who punched her, then she turned down her real brother, ran into reporters, and into Harry Potter, now she was hiding from everybody but the twins and her mother. Everything was going wrong for her. She only had one real friend. That was her sister. The rest were just her brothers. If you counted your parents as friends, then she would have three. She looked out into the crowd, and then she spotted Harry Potter. He walked over, and sat across from her. She looked at him. He was just sitting there. “Hey, you running from the reporters?” He ginned. She studied him a bit, then nodded. “You must be used to it…” Annie said. “Yeah, they found me when they were looking for you. I take it your name is Anita.” He smiled. She nodded. “Do I know you?” “I don’t think so-“ Annie said but didn’t get to finish, when the bushy-haired girl she saw in the picture appeared. “Oh, hi, Ginny.” She nodded. “Harry, we better get going, my parents are waiting.” “This is Anita.” Harry said. “Really? You look a lot like a girl I know. Hmm…” She said. “Anyway, see you some other time.” “Bye.” Annie muttered as they left into the crowd. She got up after a while and found her mother being bombarded by reporters. She caught her eye and pointed to the floo fire places. Molly nodded and Annie flooed back to the Burrow. She collapsed in a chair by the kitchen table. Today was one of the longest days of her life. When they finally got home, Annie apologized non-stop to Ginny for leaving her to carry her things. She was just grinning. “It’s okay.” She chuckled, which seemed to be the 50th time Annie said sorry. They both took the bags to their room, and fit them all in the bottom drawer of Ginny’s dresser. Annie changed into a plain yellow shirt and a flowered white skirt. They did each others hair, which was totally outdone. Ringlets went everywhere and strands of braided hair hung down. It made their hair look quite thicker. When they went downstairs, the twins laughed and they just smiled back. Ron looked at Annie with apologetic eyes. She looked down a bit, but looked back. She remembered all he said to her and ignored him. “Well you girls look nice.” Arthur smiled, while reading his Muggle Rights column in the Daily Prophet. “Thanks.” Both girls said. They may not be twins, but they looked almost the same, though Annie was 3-4 inches taller. “Can Harry and Hermione come over?” Ron asked, suddenly feeling lonely. Annie suddenly looked interested. “Harry? Harry Potter?” Annie asked. “Yeah.” Ginny half-grinned. Molly sighed. “Ron, your attitude has been horrible. Not to mention, I don’t think Annie would like having the house real full like it is already.” Molly said. Ron looked down to his lap. “I don’t mind.” Annie said quickly. Ron looked at his mother quickly. “Where would Hermione sleep?” Molly asked. “With Annie and Ginny?” Ron suggested. Annie couldn’t see how 3 people could fit, and be able to move around. “That’s too crowded.” Ginny shook her head. Annie looked down a bit. Was she crowding the Weasley’s? “What about on the couch?” Ron asked. “That wouldn’t be polite.” Molly said. “I don’t think she’ll mind.” Ron begged. “Well… Fine. You may invite them over.” Molly sighed. “Wait a moment. Aren’t you supposed to be cleaning the attic?” She grew stern. Ron jumped up and ran up stairs, hoping to get on his Mums good side. She shook her head as if to say, ‘Something is wrong with him.’ Then there was a knock on the door. Ginny went over to answer it, and a woman, with a kind face stepped inside. “Hello, there, Anita.” She smiled. Annie looked at her cautiously. She took out a pad of paper and ushered her to sit at the table. “My name is Eloisa Wright.” Annie stared at her. She must be some kind of a reporter. “I work for the Ministry, I am here because there will be a determination trial. It is where we decide a few things. This will not go to the press, so you need to be open. I have a few questions. Did the Malfoy’s mistreat you in any way?” “I… uh…” Annie looked to the ground. Eloisa lifted her chin up. “Have they?” She looked into her eyes. “Yes- I mean no- I don’t know.” Annie stuttered, fast. “Has Lucius Malfoy ever hit you?” She asked. “Well…I…I…” Annie muttered. “Yes. But I had broken a vase, and I dared to talk back.” “What about Narcissa?” She said. “Never.” Annie faltered. Her mother would never hit her. She may have been stern, but she would never hit her. “What about their son, Draco?” “Yes. He- he- In Diagon Alley he…” Annie looked to the ground again. “He did what?” “He got mad because he thought… because I like being here. He twisted my wrist, slapped me and kicked me.” Annie felt tears. Draco had changed; she had never seen him like this until now. Ginny put a comforting hand on her shoulder. “Do you need a rest?” Eloisa asked. “No, no. Ginny smiled, and Annie noticed her mother and father in the doorway smiling. Two Aurors were behind her, wands out, with two Dementors in front, sucking the happiness away from her. She was taken to a single cell, with both Malfoy’s, sitting there, on opposite sides. The Aurors stood back 20 feet, while she was free to talk to her former Parents. Lucius took a look at her hair and walked to the bars, the Aurors took a step forward. He retreated a few feet. “What have you done to your hair?” He hissed. “I didn’t.” Annie looked to the ground. Narcissa ran up to the bars, and put her hands on her cheeks. The Aurors came next to her. “You were my girl.” She said, hands shaking. “We didn’t take you!” “Mother, I have been-“ but a door was slammed open, and another group came in, with her former brother, a dark look on his face. “What are you doing here, Veronica? Or shall I say Anita?” Draco hissed. “Draco, Manors.” Lucius straitened. “Well she is getting cozy with being a Weasley. Defends them and all.” Draco folded his arms. Annie couldn’t move, every joint in her body froze. “Veronica, is this true?” Lucius asked. She muttered “Yes, sir”, which was so scratchy it was unable to be understood. “Have we taught you nothing?” He hissed. “We gave you food, clothes and shelter. You ungrateful child.” Annie looked at her mother and gave her pleading eyes, she looked down. Annie reached behind her neck and unclasped a locket with the Malfoy crest on it. She put it into her mother’s hand, which made her sob uncontrollably. Annie walked backward, seeing a glaring Draco, who was threatening with his eyes. Annie turned away and was taken from the wing, into a small office, where Molly and Arthur were waiting; she collapsed into her mothers arms, unable to hold herself up anymore. ![]() Annie felt something hot being poured into her mouth, but was to stiff to move, except open her eyes. Everything came into focus and found herself being propped up with pillows, her mother not looking at her at the moment, she was stirring steaming soup. Annie looked around for a moment and blinked a few timed. “Good, you are awake, Dear.” Her mum said, putting the bowl on a side table, and held out a chocolate frog. Annie ate it, and found warmth come to her body. “What happened?” Annie asked, in a scratchy voice. “You fainted after you came out of Azkaban, Dear.” She looked more relaxed. Annie pulled herself up and held her head until it stopped swimming. “How long?” “About a day and a Half. Harry and Hermione will arrive later. But for now, you need to rest and get your strength back. “I feel better.” Annie lied, not wanting to lie down all day. “No pulling a Harry, now.” Molly smiled as she made her lay back. She didn’t know what that meant but stayed. She heard someone coming down the stairs, and saw Ginny enter the living room. “Hey, are you okay?” Ginny asked. “Yes.” Annie half-smiled. Molly smiled at them and left to cook breakfast. Ginny laid down a bunch of papers, which Annie looked at curiously. Ginny grinned and handed a few to her. She found a few moving pictures of a boy and a girl playing with a Quaffle, by rolling it back and forth, and then the boy stopped, and began to chew on it. Annie grinned. Then a taller boy stomped over, and plucked it out of his hand. The boy began to cry, and the older boy, who had to be Charlie, walked out. A younger Molly, who had longer and straighter hair picked Ron up, and rocked him to stop him crying. The girl, who had to have been her, gurgled and crawled over to the radio and laughed. She was picked up by a taller boy with very curly hair and handed her a golden snitch, which she let go and laughed as Bill set her down, and tried to reach it without his broom, clearly angry. He kept jumping for it, which made him accidentally knock over a mug of butterbeer, and spilt over Annie’s small yellow dress, which made her cry. Finally, she was snapped out of it when Ginny handed her a small folder with newspaper clippings. It all had pictures of baby Annie looking at her, with her hand in her mouth, wearing a small pink frilly dress. _____________________________________ MISSING Anita Weasley was taken from the Weasley house at 8:24 P.M. on February 14th. She half grinned, when either Fred or George took a chunk of the cake and stuffed it in his mouth. The other twin did the same. Charlie and Bill had forced smiles on. They were old enough to remember what was going on around them. Her favorite was the first one she looked at. Ginny put it in a picture frame and handed it to her. Annie smiled and set it on the end table. “Can we go now?” Ron asked. “Wait until your father finds the floo Power.” Molly said. “Fred or George must have used if for some of their experiments. Finally, Annie saw them leave. She saw George say something in Ginny’s ear and then Ginny smiled. “I’ll be right back.” Ginny said and walked up the stairs. Ron and her Dad came back, now accompanied by Harry and the Bushy haired girl she saw in Diagon Alley. “Hey.” Harry greeted the group of Weasley’s. “Ginny, you must have grown over the summer.” Hermione smiled. “I’m not-“ Annie said. “Yeah, that’s our Ginny, All right.” Fred put an arm around Annie’s shoulder. George winked at her and Annie smiled. “Wait, are you sure that’s Ginny?” Harry looked at her, suspiciously. “Sure is.” George said. “Wait no that-“ Harry figured it out but looked even more confused. At that moment, Ginny walked down the stairs grinning. Hermione stumbled backward, and Harry stared. “What’s Anita doing here?” Harry asked. “You know Annie?” Ginny asked. “We met her in Diagon Alley; she was running from the reporters.” Harry muttered weakly. “Haven’t you read the Daily Prophet, Dears?” Mrs. Weasley asked, setting some eggs on the table. “I just look on the front page for any attacks.” Harry said. “I don’t get it anymore because of the criticism about Harry.” Hermione said. “Just the Quibbler.” “This is our daughter, Anita Weasley.” Molly smiled, putting a hand on her shoulder. Hermione’s eyes widened and she fell over, fainting. Harry’s mouth dropped. “Why didn’t you tell us?” Harry asked Ron. “There is more.” Ron said. “This is Ron’s twin.” Percy walked in. “T-T-Twin?” Harry managed to get out. “Hi.” Annie smiled. “I knew she looked familiar!” Harry said. Molly handed him the newspaper. He read it carefully. “Wow. You lived with the Malfoy’s?” Harry whispered. “Don’t hold it against her.” Ron said. Its High-tech, but its easier being a witch.” Hermione said. “I want to take Muggle studies. I think it all is very fascinating.” Annie smiled. “So what are Phellytones?” “Telephones. They allow muggles to communicate with everyone in the Muggle world.” Hermione chuckled. It soon got to night time and Hermione was walking down the hall to go downstairs, but she was stopped by Ron. “What is it?” Hermione sighed. “You have to help me. I need to apologize to Annie but… She won’t give me a chance.” Ron said. “What do girls like? I don’t know, I mean… I was with Ginny her whole life. I know what she likes, but not Annie.” “Have it from the heart.” Hermione sighed. “I don’t know- I wouldn’t know!” Ron said. “Ugh! Give her a locket or something. I don’t know her that well either.” Hermione said. “Thanks ‘Mione.” Ron said and ran back to his room. ![]() The next morning, everybody went outside for some Quiddich, which Annie used Ron’s old broom, while he used the one he got from becoming a prefect. Harry was just chasing the snitch around, not really on a team. Ginny and Annie were on separate teams, while they tried to get passed a set of levitating hoops, which Ron blocked, The twins were chasers, because it was hard to get it passed the hoop with only one chaser. Hermione just kept score. Ron missed every one when either of Fred or George tried to score, but got most from Annie and Ginny. Harry caught the snitch 4 times before the next goal. Annie wanted to try to ride it like you would a skateboard, but even the twins refused to let her. She did, however ride it upside-down while nobody was looking. “I am going to try out for the Quiddich team.” Annie smiled. “It’s really fun.” “Another Weasley for Gryffindor!” Fred smiled. “Perfect.” They paused to see if Ron would object to her being in Gryffindor. “Did you see Mum before we got out here?” Ron asked, quietly, nodding his head toward the garden, where their mother had nail marks in her cheeks, and she was pale. “Is everybody okay? Did Annie hurt herself?” She said as they neared. “I’m fine. Everyone is.” Annie smiled. “Have you ever played before?” She asked. “Yes, 5 times before this, really.” Annie said. “It’s really fun.” “There is a trial on Tuesday, the owl just came. Have you gotten your Hogwarts Letter yet, Harry? Ginny hasn’t.” “No, I didn’t.” Harry said. “Neither have I.” Hermione said. “How will I know what to get?” “I’ll ask Luna.” Ginny shrugged. “Annie will go into 6th year so you can use her list.” “I have no Idea why some post went missing.” Molly shook her head. “Your Father will be coming home early today.” Molly said. “Harry… Some members of the… D.A. wants to talk to you.” “Thanks Mrs. Weasley.” Harry smiled. They went inside and Harry, Ron, Ginny and Hermione went up to Ron’s room and Annie helped cook Lunch. When they came downstairs, the four tried to sneak out. “Where are you going?” Annie asked. “Can’t tell you.” Ron looked down. “Not yet.” “Why not?” Annie asked. “We’ll tell you later.” Harry promised. Annie sighed and went back to stirring. Not knowing she missed a few ingredients. Arthur came home with a Muggle object that looked like a box with a black screen. She stared at it while her father was putting a few hexes on it. “What’s that?” Annie asked, looking into the black screen and seeing a reflection of herself. She was surprised it didn’t talk like mirrors did. “It’s a Compooter.” He smiled. “Muggle contraption.” “What does it do?” Annie asked, looking at another object that had a few buttons and a lot of wires in the back, with a few slits in the front. “Hermione is the one to answer that.” He said and rubbed his hands together as he plugged it into a Muggle outlet that he had collected. There came beeping sounds from it, and Annie instantly backed away from it. Her father jumped up and watched the screen change to a plain aqua screen with boxes and words on it. She backed up even more, as sparks flew out of the back. The screen turned off. He frowned and slapped the back of the monitor. The screen popped off and shattered on the ground. “Now, why would a muggle want something like that?” Arthur inspected it. “I really must find out. Interesting machine, isn’t it?” “Er… yeah.” Annie faked a smile. “Oh, almost forgot. Charlie sent you an owl. He wants to have you over for a visit. Owl him back with your answer.” Arthur smiled, as another clunky noise came from the computer. His owl is waiting in Errol’s cage.” “Can I go?” Annie asked. “That’s your choice.” He smiled. “He is your brother.” “Alright.” Annie grinned and walked into the living room and read the letter that was next to the cage. __________________________________________ Hello there, Anita! She grabbed her PJ’s and two sets of clothes and a few other things she may need and put them in a small bag. It reminded her so much of being back at the Malfoy’s. She snatched it and prepared to rip it but there was a commotion downstairs. She dropped it back on the bed and walked downstairs. Charlie sat at the table, her mum instantly setting some potatoes and chicken in front of him. “Mum, really. I’m not hungry-“ Charlie muttered. Annie smirked. She sat by the table across. “Hey, Gin- Oh wait, you’re Anita!” Charlie wiped his mouth with a napkin. “Call me Annie.” Annie smiled. “Alright. Hey Gin- Oh wait- you’re Annie.” Charlie Chuckled. Annie smiled. “So you like it here?” Charlie asked. “No. I love it here.” Annie smiled and dipped her finger in his mashed potatoes and put it in her mouth, grinning. “You like that too? Ron’s favorite food, also.” Charlie pushed his plate from her reach, teasing her. She showed no emotion at hearing Ron’s name. She levitated the plate over to her side of the table with her Mother’s wand and stuck her tongue out. She took a bite before Charlie Levitated it back. She pretended to pout. Molly set a small bowl in front of her, shaking her head and smiled, seeing the whole play-fighting. “Ha, I got more potatoes than you!” Annie plopped a spoonful into her mouth. “Only because you ate most of mine.” He smirked. She smiled. “Hello, Charles.” Percy walked in, holding a small notebook. “It’s Charlie, Percival.” Charlie muttered. Annie looked at the tension between the two. Percy’s lip curled. “Mmmm.” Annie made a distraction, eating another spoonful of Potatoes. “Yes, Mother has always been a wonderful cook.” Percy stated. “Well, I guess we should get going, then.” He saw she had finished. “Going where?” Percy asked. “Romania.” Charlie glared. “Got your stuff, Annie?” “Yeah.” Annie said. He walked over to the fireplace and threw in a scoop of floo powder. “My house is the cavern.” Annie pulled on her cloak. Her mum gave her a hug and a kiss on the forehead. “Charlie, No dragons! Keep her safe!” “Yes, mum.” Charlie sighed. Annie walked into the fireplace and clearly said, “The Cavern.” She found herself spinning in the fireplace and then landed in a small living room, mostly in the color blue. He appeared next. “Here, this it the living room, that’s the kitchen/Dining room, My room over there, the bathroom around the corner to the left and the spare room is there. You can put your stuff in there.” Charlie said in one breath. “Can we go see the dragons? Please?” Annie begged. “I would probably be hexed into next year by Mum, but okay.” Charlie smiled. Annie set her Stuff on the table and then they flooed to a big open field. Annie looked around, curiously. It was just a big field of rotting grass. Charlie took her hand and he moved aside a rock and a door faded in view. They went inside, and there was a hallway that had many doors inside. He went to the 2nd last one and unlocked it with his key. Annie and Charlie went inside and Annie gasped. The dragons were so big! Annie saw a smaller cage to the right of her and peered into it. A sickly green dragon puffed out a small amount of smoke. “That’s Sonya. She was born prematurely. She won’t live longer than a year.” Charlie frowned. “You can go inside. She can’t do anything to you.” He put his key into the lock and she stepped inside. Annie knelt next to its figure. It was bout the size of two of her, crunched up in balls. She pet its head and it looked at her with its silvery eyes. Sonya let out a puff of smoke and rested her head on Annie’s lap. Charlie gave a half-hearted smile and went to feed a large Norwegian Richback. Annie took a scrunchie out of her hair and put it on the dragon’s de-formed hand. ![]() “So, basically that’s all you will eat?” Charlie slurped up some pasta. “Mum’s told me about your cooking.” Annie half grinned and took another bite of Mashed Potatoes. “Right. Good Ol’ Mum.” Charlie muttered. “Are you sure you can’t save Sonya?” Annie muttered, sadly. “The percentage is against her. 2% chance of living.” Charlie tensed. “I’m sorry, Annie.” Annie sat at the table, silent. There was a gong, and Charlie went to the door, out of view. She strained to hear who it was. “Listen, my sister is staying over for the weekend.” She heard Charlie mutter. “Maybe some other time-“ “Oh, nonsense! I haven’t seen Jennifer for along time!” The woman’s voice cheerily replied. It sounded quite familiar. “Jennifer? No, you mean Virginia. And no, Ginny isn’t here.” Charlie said, “My sister Anita.” “Oh, well I must meet her! You never told me you had another sister.” She drawled. “Lead the way.” Charlie sighed and he led the woman into the room. “Annie, Antoinette, Antoinette, Annie.” Charlie introduced. The woman had dark brown hair and grey eyes. Her face was perfect, it was also familiar. “Antoinette Swinger?” Annie glared. “I don’t think she likes me much, Charles.” Antoinette held his hand. “What’s wrong, Annie?” Charlie asked confused. Annie didn’t answer, but her face was reddening. “This is my girlfriend, Ana. Your names are quite similar.” Annie’s jaw dropped at the news. His Girlfriend? Annie stood up from her chair, kicked Ana in the knee and fled from the house. She skipped a few times when her foot stepped on a stone, but other wise she ran quickly away from his little house. “Annie!” Charlie yelled after her. “Why did you-?” “I don’t know what I did, Charles, but I want her punished!” She heard his girlfriend yell to him. Annie sat down on a rock and let Charlie catch up to her. She didn’t know why, but she did. “What has gotten into you, Annie?” Charlie asked, frowning. “I hate her! I hate her so much!” Annie scowled. “Tell her to leave.” “Why do you hate her?” “She is a liar, and a suck-up, and I can’t stand her.” Annie breathed. “She got me in trouble.” “What kind of trouble? You’ve met her?” “’Course.” Annie looked up to try to keep in a few tears. “When?” Charlie asked. “She was my nanny at the manor.” Annie whispered. Charlie stiffened. “She is mean, and Nasty and she…” “She what?” “Nothing. Forget it. I just have hated her since I was four. No offence, but I want to go back home. I don’t want to be near her.” “What happened?” Charlie’s face was angry. “Nothing.” Annie wiped her eyes. She got up and began to walk back to get her things, but her wrist was clutched tightly by Antoinette’s hand. She slapped Annie’s hand. “Someone needs to teach you manners, Young Lady.” The Girl snarled. Annie glared into her eyes and within a minute, she had spit in her face and stomped back to the house and grabbed her stuff and had gotten into the fireplace when Charlie entered. Annie blew him a good-bye kiss, dropped the floo powder and went back to the burrow. She slid out of the fireplace, feet first and into the kitchen. She coughed a bit and noticed many faces staring at her. Some she didn’t know, and of course Harry, Ron, Hermione, and her twin brothers. She got up and stomped up to her room and threw her stuff onto her bed. Soon after, she heard someone quietly walking to her door, and a knock. “Come in.” Annie said dully as she hugged a pillow. Her mother entered and sat on her bed. “Annie, I heard from Charlie.” Her mother said. Annie stayed quiet. “He said that his girlfriend must have done something to you.” Silence. “Want to talk about it?” “I don’t know.” Annie sighed and she set her head on the pillow. “You can tell me anything.” Molly hugged her. Annie pulled a way and Molly looked a bit downcast. Annie lifted up the back of her shirt enough to reveal a 3-inch long scar that looked like it hadn’t been healed properly. Molly gasped and hugged her again. “I’m fine. Charlie’s girlfriend broke a vase when she was dancing with her old boyfriend when they were drunk. It seems that I had had a tantrum about doing my writing practice, and smashed the vase, and I was punished.” Annie said in wavering calm voice. “Are you sure that was the only time?” Molly asked quietly. Annie remained silent. ![]() It had been four days and Annie got a letter from Charlie saying that he and Antoinette had broken up and that she could visit anytime she wished. Annie and Ron had pretty much ignored each other, well not actually ignored, more like not minding their presence. Annie dressed in a yellow dress because today was the Weasley – Malfoy trial. People had done detective work and nobody was informed about what they found out or anything. They were picked up by a ministry automobile, well her parents and her, and were dropped off at the Ministry of magic. They were escorted to Courtroom 7 and they took their seats. “Bring in Mr. Lucius Malfoy and Mrs. Narcissa Malfoy, Please.” A judge said. Two guards lead her former parents up to a stand. Annie noticed Draco and The Crabbe’s family a few rows down from her. She closed her eyes and began to think. What would I be like now if I really was Veronica Malfoy? Am I still? Was I ever? What if this was all a dream? “Mrs. Eloisa Wright, will you please share your report?” The Judge said. “Certainly, Judge Wade.” Eloisa, the woman that had come to the Weasley’s home to ask her questions said. She looked a bit downcast. “When I went to The Weasley’s home, I asked Miss. Weasley a series of questions about living in the Malfoy residence. They go as following;” Eloisa said. Annie’s eyes widened and she put her head in her hands. “Question: Have the Malfoy’s mistreated you in any way? Answer was incomplete. Question: Has Lucius Malfoy ever beaten you? Answer: Only when I did something wrong. Question: Did Narcissa Malfoy ever beat you? Answer: No. Question: Has Draco Malfoy ever beaten you? Answer: Just last visit to Diagon Alley.” At this last answer, Narcissa’s eyes narrowed at her son. “He kicked her, slapped her and twisted her wrist.” Narcissa stood up in fury, but was pulled back down by Lucius. “Question: Have they ever neglected you? Answer: No. Question: Were you well fed? Answer: Yes. She seemed to be treated with little Love and was raised to dislike anything that wasn’t pureblood or of their status.” “May I cut in?” A man with long dark hair stood up in all black robes. It reminded her of Lucius with black hair in stead of white-blonde. “Ms. Wright, are you finished?” Judge Wade asked. “Yes, Sir. For now I am.” She sighed and went back to her seat. The man strolled over to a pillar and leaned against it casually. “Go on, Mr. Vang.” “The Malfoy’s never took the child, Anita Weasley. Lucius Malfoy and Narcissa Malfoy merely cared for the child as if it were their own, even in their mind it was. The real person who kidnapped Anita killed Veronica and used Anita to cover up the loss of The Malfoy Daughter. These parents have done nothing more than cared for that girl and you send them to Azkaban?” Vang lectured. “Are we even one-hundred percent sure that that is Anita Weasley? Is it even Veronica? Maybe it is another child.” “That girl looks like her siblings.” Eloisa stated. “With the red hair, yes. What about with blonde hair? Come down here please, Girl.” He stared directly at her, and it made her spine run cold. Molly nodded and Annie stumbled down to the platform, all eyes on her. She walked over to Vang. He pointed his wand strait to her hair and she felt the familiar cold run down her head and down to the tips. “Draconis Malfoy, Please come down here please.” Draco walked down calmly and stood on the other side of Vang. “Do you not see the resemblance?” “I look like Ginny and Ron.” Annie hissed. Draco looked ready to pounce. “Ginny or Ron, Come down here please.” Vang smirked. “They aren’t here.” Eloisa stated. “Well go get them.” He snapped. The two guards stood up and marched out of the room. She could feel her face burning as the two Malfoy men glared at her. She closed her eyes as she focused her attention to her parents. The gave and encouraging smile toward her and she grinned a bit and looked at the ground. She tucked her blonde hair behind her ear so she wouldn’t see it out of the corner of her eye. The doors suddenly slammed open and the guard roughly led in her brother and her sister. “YOU ARE TREATING MY CHILDREN LIKE CRIMINALS!” her mother stood up and shrieked. Ron and Ginny were shoved in Annie’s direction. Annie caught Ginny before she stumbled to the ground; Ron had stopped before hitting anything. Ginny saw Annie’s bright red blushing face, and stared in shock at her hair color. Annie looked to the ground and away from her brother and sister. “Look at these two, as the Malfoy children. Do you not see their resemblance? Are they twins, Mr. Malfoy?” “Yes.” Lucius answered. Annie knew she used to be his ‘twin’, but was she still? She stared at Vang. She could feel Ginny shaking beside her. “Now all you out there, do you see the resemblance?” Vang pushed them next to each other, they glared. “Now the Weasley children.” He changed her hair back to red and Annie stood up next to her siblings. Murmurs erupted among the crowd. Annie promised that if this turns out good, she would be a little nicer toward Ron. “Please sit down, Vang.” Eloisa smiled triumphantly and looked at the judge. “They look alike, they get along, and Anita seems happy with the Weasley’s.” “I agree.” Judge Wade said. “I think the Malfoy’s deserve an award. They raised this girl, fed her, clothed her, and gave her shelter, and you take their only daughter from them and call them criminals? They must be in emotional pain!” Vang slammed his fist on a table. “Order of Merlin, 5th class, then.” Judge Wade growled. “Court decided.” Annie stared and was led back to her parents by Ron and Ginny. Her parents hugged them and asked if they were alright, and went back home. ![]() Annie locked herself in hers and Ginny’s room and cried. If the Malfoy’s are free, she wasn’t safe. She was scared or safe anymore. She dragged Ginny into the mess, she broke her brother up with his girlfriend and was overwhelmed with everything, and the biggest thing was that in 2 days school started. She never got to say good-bye to her friend, Gabrielle Aynor, and she hated all the attention she was getting. She wished she had never been taken from the Weasley’s. She kicked the bed-board, but it solved nothing but a sharp pain in her foot. She moaned and chucked her pillow at the door and fell onto the floor. She gritted her teeth and let her head hit the side table; the lamp shook and fell to the floor. She used her white birch wand to repair it. She was thankful that she could use her wand this summer, but other than that, she could explode. She felt the need to let out her fury, so she got outside before it got too bad. They stared as she ran out the door and kick one of the boulders, not caring about the pain. She ran down the field, occasionally kicking objects that were in her way. She was very close to smashing her wand on a rock, but thought better of it. Everything was happening to her! She was deep in a forest now and kicking dead logs and anything that crossed her path. She heard a snap behind her and her back froze. She turned around to the face of Ron. She did not want his presence her at the moment because she was having a fit, and she was not the happiest with Ron. She sat on a log and refused to look at him. He sat down next to her. “Beat it, Ron.” Annie hissed and turned her back to him. “Mum sent me.” Ron said. “You know, people could be after you.” “Don’t remind me.” Annie snapped. She slammed a rock into the dirt and kicked it into a stream. “Look, I’m sorry for everything I said before.” Ron sighed. Annie looked away, and then back at him, now with tears in her eyes. “I cant- I- I don’t know what to do, okay?” Annie sobbed. Ron put an arm around her, and she let herself cry on his shoulder. ![]() Annie mostly stayed in her room for the next day, and now she was being shoved awake by her mother, and she shoved her head under her pillow and let out a moan, but she finally got up and put her new, second-hand robes on, without any badge at all. She grabbed her wand and stuck it into her small trunk, filled with Percy’s old books. She let the trunk clunk down the many stairs as she went to have breakfast. She only felt like toast and she slowly ate with Ginny and Hermione, because Harry and Ron hadn’t come down yet. She rested her head on her hand and dozed off once or twice, and awoke by Ginny’s poking. “Stop it.” Annie mumbled. Ginny smirked and continued to eat. Ron and Harry finally appeared, in the same state as Annie, and Harry’s hair was all over the place and sticking strait up in the air. Annie snorted and began to giggle as they sat down. Ginny and Hermione joined in and the boys looked around, confused and then Ron figured out what it was they were laughing at, and joined in. Harry tried to flatten it, but was no use. They soon made their way to King’s Cross and stood in front of the platform. “Write everyday.” Her mother told her. “Oh, I hardly got enough time with you. Tell me how it goes and, oh I don’t want you to go!” She pulled Annie into a hug and wiped a tear away. “Come on, Annie!” Ginny said as she ran through the brick wall, followed by the others. “Bye Mum, Bye Dad.” Annie smiled and ran into the platform, meeting up with the others. They found the only empty apartment and went inside. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Whew! That took me a while to get out of my state of Writers block! *Sigh* I cant believe I put her in so much pain! :(, oh well. She doesn't exist, so review or else a next chapter wont exist... :P! Annie let herself fall into the seat and her head against the wall. “I don’t want to do this anymore.” Annie said. “I don’t want anymore attention. I’ll have to go up to the sorter thing by myself.” “Not really,” Harry sniggered. “Just with the firsties.” Annie sighed. The train started and they were off. Hermione got in a comfortable position and began to read, Ginny made a lot of butterflies fly out of her wand, making the compartment a nature room. Harry and Ron mostly hexed Ginny’s butterflies into flying butter. The compartment door opened and a small group of people walked in, and stared at the flying things. “This is sweet!” Luna smiled dreamily at the butterflies. Neville sneezed. “What, are you allergic to butterflies?” Luna asked. Neville nodded and found their seats. Someone opened the door. “Any sweets, Darlings?” A lady asked. Everybody scrambled and paid for a pile of sweets, Annie just watched. Luna was the first to notice her. “Hey, You’re Annie.” Luna stated. “Ginny’s new sister.” Annie nodded. “Annie, want some Jelly Beans?” Harry asked, a glint in his eyes. “Huh?” Annie asked confused. “Oh, Sure.” Harry let a few fall into her hand. Ron chuckled. “What did you do to it?” Annie asked cautiously. Ginny rolled her eyes and let the window open. “We didn’t do anything.” Ron smirked. Annie stared and plopped one into her mouth. “This is good.” Annie chewed. “Tastes like banana.” “They are good, aren’t they?” Ron snickered. “Tell me what is so funny.” Annie demanded. “Nothing, I think a butterfly is in my shirt.” Ron kept a strait face. Annie almost spit out the next one. “This tastes like Dirt.” Annie coughed. “That’s because it is.” Ginny sighed. “Bertie Botts Every Flavor Beans. Oh, shut up, Ron.” Ron was laughing quite loudly. The door opened again. “Where’s the banshee?” Came a drawl. Annie’s back stiffened. Ron’s laugh became a scowl. Annie was the quickest to stand. “Get. Out.” Annie seethed between her teeth. Draco’s face turned menacing. “I can’t believe our mother still likes you. You’ve disgraced the whole Malfoy Generation.” Draco advanced. Annie’s wand was suddenly at his throat. “Why would it disgrace the family name? I never was a Malfoy.” Annie hissed and dug the wand in deeper. “Leave.” “Expelliarmus!” Draco cursed, but She grabbed his wand right after. “I challenge you to a duel after Dinner.” Annie hissed. Suddenly Annie gave a small scream as she saw the front of the carriage.. “You’ve seen somebody die?” Ron asked. Annie didn’t respond but quickly got into the carriage and looked at the ground. “Who did you see die?” Ginny asked. “I don’t want to say.” Annie squeaked. “Who did it?” Hermione asked. “Fath- Lucius Malfoy.” Annie whimpered and dug her head in her arms. “Why did he-?” Ron began. “He missed me.” Annie muttered and turned away. “And got his mother.” Everyone stared. “He tried to kill you?” Ron grew angry. Annie wiped a tear. “Why?” “Because… I got angry and tried to paralyze him. I can’t say he was happy about it.” Annie cried. “Why did you try to Paralyze him?” Hermione asked. “He was going to punish me for breaking a vase. I tried to paralyze him, but he missed and hit his snake cane on my back. The fangs had potion venom in them.” Annie whispered. Hermione and Ginny gasped. Ron took her by her shoulders. “You said he didn’t beat you!” Ron barked. Annie shifted her head. “I’m Owling Mum.” “NO!” Annie stood up. “If you do that… Draco, He’ll… No!” “What will Malfoy do?” Harry asked. “Leave me alone.” Annie crossed her arms. Ginny and Hermione stared wide-eyed at her. “I can’t tell anybody anything!” Annie jumped out of the carriage and ran into the rain. Ginny was about to jump out after her, but Ron stopped her. “Lets leave her be for a while.” “Are you still going to tell Mum?” Ginny asked. “Yes.” “Annie was about to say something that would happen if you did. Wait until Annie tells.” “That’s a good Idea, Gin.” Harry said. Hermione nodded. Ron slumped into his seat and glared out the window. Annie was running to another carriage to find a place to sit. She found one and began to climb aboard, but saw Draco, Vincent and Gregory. She was about to turn and leave, but was caught by the back of the collar and pulled back into the seating area. Draco covered her mouth and pushed her on the seat. “Crucio!” Draco hissed. Annie’s screams could not be heard with her mouth covered and the lap of thunder that boomed over head. A silencing charm was put on the carriage as she was hit with the charm 5 times, each holding on for a while until they reached the castle. “Nothing happened.” Draco hissed and threw her out of the carriage. She limped inside with the others but stood where the first years were staying. She watched as her friends passed her, and she avoided their gaze. Soon, It was time for the first years to get sorted. They were brought in and Annie stayed in the back. Her hearing must have been clogged by water, or her earlier screaming made her dizzy. “Anita?” McGonagall called. Annie looked up. “Come here please.” Annie blushed as she made her way up to the stool and collapsed into the chair. A hat was put on her head. The room began to sway and she saw two of everything. She blinked it away. “Are you okay dear?” The hat asked, in her mind. She nodded slightly. “I know where you should be, but a part of me is against it.” “Where should I be?” Annie thought. “Slytherin… Don’t cry dear.” Annie blinked away the tears. “I’ll put you in Gryffindor. I know that’s where you believe you should be, and for your health. I’d go see Madame Pomphrey if I were you.” “GRYFFINDOR!” The hat yelled so loud she jumped. Her head felt light and she stumbled to her seat, wobbling. “Annie, Are you alright?” Ron asked through his huge smile. Annie smiled weakly and looked around. Her hearing became fuzzy again and it ringed. She caught words like, ‘Forest’, ‘Caretaker’ and ‘feast’, but that’s was it. Everyone dug into the food. She took a sip of pumpkin juice but she couldn’t swallow. She pretended to take a bigger sip, while really spitting it back into the cup. “I don’t feel real well. Maybe those Bertie Beans aren’t so healthy after all.” Annie held her stomach while smiling weakly. They stared at her as she walked as strait as she could from the hall. She Woke up to laughing and walking near her and the Doors opened wide, she hid while they spilled out. She caught up with Hermione as she was giving out the password. “Silver Root.” Hermione said clearly. “Oh, Annie, Feeling better?” “Yeah.” Annie lied. “Please call off the duel!” Hermione begged. Annie forgot. “No.” Annie swished her cloak and ran down to the Entrance Hall where she found Draco and his two lackeys. Ron and Hermione ran in, Harry not to far behind. Annie held the rest of her strength and pointed her wand out in a perfect dueling manner. She glared and found her right footing. He did the same, and suddenly the room began to spin. Everything was so white, she had to shield her eyes. A lady with a weird-shaped hat bustled in. “Drink this.” She held out a small goblet. “What is it?” Annie asked, peering at the greenish liquid. “Do you really want to know?” The woman asked. Annie shook her head and sipped it. She swallowed and tried to cough it up. It was tingling his insides and she felt worse than before. “It tastes somewhat like those Bertie Beans.” Annie choked. “I must be allergic to them or something. That must be why I am sick. Can I go now?” The woman pursed her lips and took the cup away. Annie waited for her to come back. When she did, Annie asked what it was. “Revealing Spices and Poison Collecting Ingredients.” She said. Annie’s eyes widened. “Oh. May I leave?” “Absolutely not.” Madame Pomphrey sighed and walked away. Annie sighed and squeaked as she saw who came in. She grabbed her wand and flung herself under the bed. He was quick to see the movement and walked over. He pulled her out, his hand grabbing her hand so hard it was turning slightly purple. He saw Madame Pomphrey come back into the room and helped Annie back into her bed, as if helping her. “Did you need something, Mr. Malfoy?” She asked. “I just wanted to see Anita.” He smirked. Annie looked away. “Be on your way, Mr. Malfoy. I don’t have time for visitors. I am almost finished with Anita, and you can talk to her on your way out.” “Ma’am, I don’t think I feel well.” Annie squeaked. She knew what would happen. “That’s why you are here, Girl.” She clicked her teeth. “You’ll feel fine once you drink this.” “I’m not thirty, thanks.” Annie avoided Draco’s gaze. “Drink it or I’ll have to pour it down your throat.” “Is that a threat?” “Yes, It is. Now open up.” “No, that stuff is nasty. I am NOT drinking that.” “You are if you want to get better.” “I like it here, Nice and Cozy, don’t you think?” Annie smiled in a fake, cheery, sarcastic voice. “Drink.” Madame Pomphrey shoved it in her face. Annie used it to water the plants by her bedside table. She noticed the plant wilt. “That is the last time I drink any more potions.” Annie gapped in an acting sort of way. “I think I can heal by myself, thank you very much.” “That’s it, I’m Calling for Dumbledore.” She huffed and swept out. Annie whimpered. “Nobody to save your butt this time, is there, Weasley?” Her smirked. “Go away, I am trying to heal from the last thing you did to me.” Annie spat. He was quick to fit his hand around her throat. “I never did anything.” Draco hissed, inches from her face. Suddenly voiced were heard drawing near. Draco sat in the visitors chair, Annie pulled the blanket up to cover his hand prints. “Professor Dumbledore, Nice to finally meet you. Did you see what she was trying to feed me? Look at this poor, poor plant. See, it’s wilted! Just think of what it would have done to my stomach lining? I might have died, you see. The taste and smell is enough to kill you, I tell you.” Annie rattled on. “Miss Weasley, I would highly appreciate it if you wouldn’t criticize the healing potions.” Dumbledore said, a small twinkle in his eye. “It could save you’re life one day.” “So it will kill me, then save me. Oh, I understand you completely, Headmaster. How about we make a deal, If I drink this here Poison, I get out of classed for a day, with one of my friends.” “Sorry, you need to catch up as much as you can already.” He smirked. “I can help her with that professor.” Draco politely remarked. “I think that we will have the teachers do that, but thanks for volunteering.” Dumbledore sighed. They finally forced the healing potions down her throat, and Annie fought hard, and was sent on her way. “Mr. Malfoy, I would like a word with you.” Dumbledore announced as he turned to leave. Annie took the chance to grab her stuff and sprint to the portrait of the fat lady. “I know the password… It’s… Uh…. Some kind of plant thing.” Annie thought. “Oh, Please just let me in.” “Here comes Miss. Patil, why don’t you ask her if you really are a Gryffindor.” She said. Annie spun around. “Um, Do you know the password…?” Annie asked as the girl whispered the password and it let her in. “Hey! What was that for? I asked you what the password-“ The portrait shut when she tried to get through. Suddenly, she spotted a glint of white-blonde hair. She felt a scream at her throat. Suddenly, the door opened. “Oh, Harry, I could kiss you, but I won’t.” Annie smiled. Harry chuckled and Held the portrait open. His face darkened when he saw who was coming. He quickly ushered her in and shut it. “What was the password again, then?” Annie asked. “Silver Roots.” Harry smiled. “So you okay? “Oh, just peachy. I was poisoned you know. Those medicines are deadly.” Annie smiled and sat by the fire. “So is there classes today?” “Not till later. Its breakfast time right now. I saw Parvati come in, saying someone was trying to sneak into the common room. Are you hungry?” “Yeah.” Annie smiled and followed Him down to the Great Hall. She sat Next to Ginny and Hermione as if nothing had Happened. Soon, schedules where handed out. “First hour Potions, Second Hour Care of Magical Creatures, Third is Divination, and Fourth is Herbology. Those are the Mondays and Thursdays… Tuesdays and Fridays are Transfiguration, and History of Hogwarts, then Charms. And Wednesdays are Astrology, Defense against the Dark Arts and Arithmancy.” Annie read. “Wow. She was normally quite good at that subject, but she would need to be as far from the Slytherin side as Possible. Hermione and Harry sat next to each other and Annie sat on the furthest to the right side with Ron. “I know him.” Annie said, nodding towards Snape. “He came over once and a while. He tutored Draco in potions over summers.” Ron snorted, but Snape called for silence. “Many of you have chosen this class just to get a certain job. But you won’t unless you actually are good at this class. I see Longbottom has chosen to join us. I was hoping for fewer explosions this year.” Snape drawled. The Slytherins snickered. Annie saw Neville coward behind her. “I do hope you did your homework over the summer.” His eyes focused strait at Annie. “Or points will be deducted from your house, as well as your grade. Pass your essays to the front.” She pretended to fidget with her stuff so she didn’t look out of place and passed Neville’s up. Snape was quick to notice. “Miss Weasley.” He strolled over to her desk quickly. “Where is your homework?” “I wasn’t aware there was anything, sir.” Annie explained. “Why didn’t you ask your brother then?” “Well it hadn’t occurred to me that there was homework.” Annie was getting impatient. “I was never told, and since it is the first day, I would have thought the teachers would be considerate and give me the homework then and hand it to you the next class day.” “5 points from your House for you attitude, another 5 for having your homework late.” Snape’s lip curled. Annie was about to protest but was kicked under the table by Ron. She folded her arms and Snape walked back to the front of the Classroom. Annie quickly scribbled in her notebook. She was going to write down every point lost or rewarded to keep track. “Today we will be brewing a simple Strengthening Draft, without any written directions. Your materials are in your desk, one ingredient does not belong, just to make sure you learned something when you wrote your essays. No talking.” Everybody groaned. Annie took out 5 ingredients, Unicorn Hair, Phoenix tears, Tentacula spice, Pepper, and Liquid Silver. Annie figured she would need the Phoenix tears later, if she had anymore run-ins with Draco. She quickly put in her robes, and she saw Draco staring right at her she looked back at the table and mixed the rest together and mixed until her hand got sore. Then Snape came around and peered into her cauldron. “This isn’t a strengthening draught.” Snape’s mouth smiled a bit. “No, but you can get stronger by stirring. Does that count?” Annie stared in the thick substance she grinned a bit as Ron snorted into his own cauldron. Harry’s shoulders were bobbing up and down, probably from keeping in laughing. “Another 5 point, Weasley.” Snape glared. He used Evenasco to make it disappear. Annie’s shoulders slumped forward and she sighed. “It seems you have no talent in Potions.” Annie rolled her eyes, but he didn’t see. “So you will have a tutor… Ah… lets see…” Hermione raised her hand high. “Draco, how about you? After school Monday’s.” “I don’t need a tutor!” Annie’s eyes widened. “If she misses a session, report it to me, and she will have to write a 4 page essay.” Snape glared and returned to the rest of his class. She looked strait at Draco and let her head fall on the desk and she patted the phoenix tears in her pocket. ………………………………………………………………………………. The next class, the four went out to Hagrid’s hut. They reviewed things they learned last year for the whole period. Annie quickly took notes to review in the library later. So far, she had 7 things to do in Care of Magical Creatures, and a Potions Essay on strengthening potions. She already dreaded Divination because of Harry and Ron’s complaints about it. She sat on a pouf and let her head rest on the table as Neville asked to join their table, which they agreed. Annie stared at the teacher, mouth hanging half open as the teacher went on about how Divination was one of the most important branches of Magic. “Right, now on with the lesson. Today we will be studying Geloscopy. It is where you use your Laughter to determine your Life’s Happiness. I will be handing out packets about the different kinds of laughs. You will work on that activity for the rest of the lesson, and the rest of the week.” The packets were levitated to the different tables and Harry stared at it blankly. “Did you know there is a Laugh that goes like… Hoo haw haw haaa…?” Ron mumbled. “Reminds me of Percy.” “Alright. Let’s get started, then.” Harry sighed. “Who wants to go first?” Neville asked. “Thanks for volunteering.” Ron grinned and flipped through the book. “I really don’t know what mine is like.” Neville frowned. “No problem.” Harry smiled and made a small pigeon fly over Ron’s head. Suddenly, a mixture of white and black dripped down his forehead. Their table started with snorting, and very quickly turned to howls of laughter. Annie, while trying to hide her giggles from Ron, leafed through and found their types of laughs. When they finally settled down, Ron, while glaring at Harry, frowned. “Great, now we don’t know what we sound like.” Ron folded his arms. “Neville is number 42, Heh heh heh… Harry is more of a 56… Hah Hah Hah… and Ron… Is more of a growling noise.” Annie smiled. “That’s because I wasn’t laughing.” Ron glared. “Well, then Imagine Trelawney in a beard.” Harry shrugged. Ron laughed just enough for them to find his. “Yours is the most common.” Neville said. “23, Hah Haw Haw.” “What about yours Annie?” Harry asked. Annie shrugged and gave a sarcastic, “Ha ha ha.” “Rictusempra.” Ron shot the spell at her. Annie glared before she hit the floor. “Ron – S-stop - No!” Annie rolled on the floor laughing. They were quickly paging through the booklets. “Defiantly 27. Hah he he.” Harry said. “I hate this unit.” Annie sighed. “It’s stupid.” “Don’t think that way, my dear, Open your mind.” Trelawney raised her hands as if letting sun soak her face. “By laughing?” Annie asked, moaning. “Bloody Hell, We can’t even feel safe laughing with Future-Crazies running about.” “Alright, Analysis.” Neville smiled. “Harry should have a content life… Same with Ron it seems. I have a frightened life. And Annie…” He frowned. “Is very unhappy.” “Go figure.” Annie kept her head up with her hands. --------------------------------------~*~------------------------------------------- “Anita, Wait up.” Annie heard a growl from behind her as she left Herbology, having to stay after to get caught up. She turned to see Draco, so she picked up her pace. He caught her wrist. “I have too much to do tonight, I can’t work on potions.” Annie hissed and turned to leave, but he had still not let go of her arm. “It’s that or a four-page essay, Weasley.” His eyes grew colder. “How bout neither?” Annie snapped and was pulled backwards and onto the ground. She glared and tried to get up, but he pinned her down. “Get- Off!” Suddenly, He took a small snake head from his pocket and her eyes widened and she struggled harder as he turned her onto her back and he stuck the newly-dead snake fangs into the scar on her back she howled in pain and cried as it went with the blood. Draco got up and walked to the castle, then stopped. “By the way, Weasley, I’ll meet you in the entrance Hall later to study.” He smirked and strolled to the castle as if nothing happened. She could feel her wound half bubbling. She waited until it had died down until she walked to the library with Hermione. “What’s wrong?” She asked as she set a potions book down. “Nothing, I’m fine.” Annie muttered. She sat back, but quickly sat strait, the pain was unbearable. Hermione looked up. “Are you sure? Your face is all round and puffy.” Hermione peered at her. “I’m Fine.” She said though clenched teeth. “Are you really sure? You lips are turning blue. I am taking you to the Hospital Wing.” Hermione got up. “Hermione, I’m fine!” Annie hissed and grabbed her books and fled from the Library. She ran to the Common Room and to the Girls Dormitory, furiously writing her potions essay. Hermione must have followed because she ran in, out of breath. “Annie, you’ve changed.” Hermione said. Annie rolled her eyes. “It’s a perfectly normal human characteristic.” Annie snapped and went back to her book. “You have changed in a few days, which is far from normal.” Hermione folded her arms. “Oh, so I’m not allowed to change?” Annie’s face reddened. “You try living two lives once, and see how easy that is.” “I’m not saying its easy-“ Hermione began. “So you’re saying it can change, right, is that it?” Annie stood up, glaring. “I wasn’t going to say that, but you have to deal with the conditions.” Hermione put her hands on her hips. “I have been!” Annie threw her hand up. “And people keep saying something is wrong with me! Leave me alone!” “I’m just worried.” Hermione frowned. “You’re worried over nothing.” Annie hissed. “I need to finish this so we don’t get any more points taken from our house.” “I’m not usually one to do this, but…” Hermione took something out of her pocket and tossed it on her bed, and left the room. Annie took the paper and carefully opened it. She held her cloak close because ghosts were about and it cooled up the place fast. “We are going into the Forest and get bowtruckle spit.” Draco said from behind her that made her give a yelp. “Not so loud, you’ll wake the dead.” Draco whispered. “Quit trying to scare me. That got old 6 years ago.” Annie rolled her eyes. “Let’s get this over with.” “Is it just me, or was that a spark of Veronica in that sentence?” Draco smirked. “It’s just you.” Annie hissed as they strolled to the forest, once they got more than 200 feet in, Draco nailed her against a tree. Annie wasn’t too surprised. “We’re going to see father.” Draco smirked. Annie’s eyes widened and she struggled hard against his arms and escaped and looked back as Draco hadn’t moved a muscle. Annie ran into something solid and froze. She looked to see the face of Lucius Malfoy. “Ah, Veronica, so glad I ran into you.” Lucius smirked that awful smirk she now hated. “It’s Anita, Sir.” Annie whispered. “Pardon?” “My name is Anita.” Annie said slightly louder. As fast as lightning, a hard, Ebony cane knocked her on the side of her face. She saw red. “Come along, Veronica.” Lucius drawled. “Y-yes father.” Annie stood up and stumbled a bit before following him, she had finally gotten her balance when Draco pushed her. She moaned as she fell on her knees. “Let her walk, Draco.” Lucius said without looking back, as if out of instinct. Annie got up and followed them to a small bonfire. Annie stared at its orange flames flap and crackle. Lucius took out an emerald-colored pouch and threw it into the Flames. “Go to our Manor, Veronica.” Lucius ordered. Annie could feel tears falling down her cheeks. She felt Lucius’s cane whack her on the back. “Malfoy’s don’t cry.” Lucius explained. Annie nodded and wiped her tears away, quickly. “Go.” Annie slowly walked to him and took a scoop of floo powder from the pouch. She walked to the fire and stared. There was another whack on the back of her knees and she fell, her hand landing on a log, she bit her lip to quit the tears that were forming and she dropped the powder in before stepping into the green fire. “Malfoy Manor.” Annie said and felt herself spinning, flames all around her. She felt herself shoot out of one of the fireplaces. She got up and stood strait, like she used to when He entered the room. He apperated right in front of her and lead her to one of the bathrooms. It was quite large, with a soaking pool, with bubbles of rich perfume, and it was beautiful, but she would much rather have the Weasley’s closet-sized one. “5 minutes.” He sneered. “Permission to ask a Question, Sir?” Annie stated, keeping her head down. He motioned her to go on. “Why am I here?” She asked. “Your mother wishes to see you.” He said simply and slammed the door shut. She locked it and took off her robes and slid into the bath and quickly scrubbed her hair clean and scrubbed her skin until it turned a bit peachier and dried her hair with a towel, because her wand was taken. She found one of her black dresses, which was the one she hated the most, and put it on. She combed it and walked out. “That was longer than 5 minutes, Girl.” He sneered. “Please excuse my tardiness, sir.” Annie looked the ground. “Follow.” Lucius ordered as he trailed in front of her. She closed her eyes. She knew this place by heart, and she hated to look at it. She knew she had to get out of there, but she kept wondering. In Divination, We were learning Geloscopy and she wouldn’t laugh until we used Rictusempra. It turns out she doesn’t have a happy future. Ginny hasn’t gotten the chance to talk to her since we got here. -Ron.” “Open the one from the Headmaster.” Molly anxiously said. “Dear Mr. and Mrs. Weasley, I’m getting quite concerned about your daughter, Anita. She hasn’t eaten much for 2 days now; in fact I haven’t seen her in the Great Hall since the sorting. I think you should come down and talk with Anita. Lucius opened the doors to Narcissa’s library. He sneered at her hair and changed it blonde. “Veronica is here.” Lucius said and sat down where Narcissa had been sitting. She ran over and hugged Annie tight. “What have you done to yourself, child?” Narcissa asked. “I’ve disobeyed.” Annie whispered. Narcissa clicked her tongue. Annie noticed the door was open a crack, if she could get to the fireplace, she could run back to Hogwarts. “I can’t stay long; I need to study for potions.” Annie looked at the ground. “You’re staying, Veronica.” Lucius drawled. “Permission to talk, sir?” Annie asked. He narrowed his eyes and nodded. “What will the Ministry say? I’ve gone missing and I’m found in your care, they will think…” Annie took a deep breath, not wanting to say the rest. “You did take me.” “You don’t believe we took you?” Lucius asked. Annie didn’t say anything. “You answer me when I am talking to you. Do you believe we took you?” “I don’t know, sir.” Annie whispered. Narcissa took her cheek in her hand. “We never took you from those mudblood lovers.” Narcissa said. Annie took her cheek away. “Don’t call them that.” Annie said and made the run for it, and she stuck her hand into the crack in the door to open it, but it slammed shut. Annie screamed in pain. Lucius took her by the arm, opened the door and pushed the end of his cane into her throat. Annie opened her mouth to get some air, but she couldn’t suck much in. “Lucius!” Narcissa gasped. “Maybe she is right, they will come to the manor and will search for her. Let her go back to that school.” Lucius flashed his eyes at her, enough for Annie to push the cane away and ran down the hall with all her might, and knocked the floo powder on the floor. She scooped a pile of it into the fire and ran in after it. She saw Lucius rounding the corner. She grabbed the pouch, just in case and called, “Forbidden forest.” She was spinning and landed in the forest. She saw her wand lying next to a rock and made a dash for it, and just missed a bright white spell from Draco. She jumped over a log and ran back in the direction of the castle, dodging. She made it up to the common room and into the Girls dormitory. She heard gasps in front of her. She looked up to see Ginny and Hermione staring at her, eyes wide and mouths open. Annie looked into the Mirror and noticed she forgot to change her Hair color and the large gash across the side of her face. Annie turned to leave and fled from the dormitory, only to be stopped in the common room. Annie’s eyes widened and put her palms on the side of her forehead. Her breathing got heavier as they stared, and the Girls soon ran in. She took her arms away, and folded them across her chest. Ginny had tears down her cheeks. “Annie…” she whispered. Annie looked away from them. “I knew it.” Hermione whimpered. “And I didn’t do anything about it!” “Just go away…” Annie breathed and swallowed. “And leave me alone.” “Annie, you can’t just let them do that to you!” Ron yelled. Annie flashed her eyes at him. “Keep your mouth shut, Ron.” Annie hissed and took out her wand and pointed her wand at him. “Move aside.” “Annie, what are you thinking?” Hermione gasped. Annie turned to see Hermione with her wand out, and then she turned to see both Ron and Harry with theirs out. Ginny was just sobbing. “Put those away, and you won’t need them.” Annie snapped at them. “Expelliarmus!” Harry said and she felt her wand fly from her hand. She let herself fall to the ground, and pull her knees up to her chest, her head on top of her knees and she cried. “Please don’t tell!” She said, muffled. Ginny sat down and put her arm around her shoulders. Annie winced. “Sorry.” Ginny whispered and took her hands away. “I already wrote Mum.” Ron said. “You WHAT?!” Annie yelled. “There is going to be another trial, and I can’t handle it! I hate you!” “Annie, your head won’t stop bleeding; let’s go to the hospital wing.” Harry soothed. “No.” It was loud and clear. Ginny gasped. “Annie, your neck has a huge bruise, can you breath?” “It’ll go away after a while, don’t worry about it.” Annie sighed. “Now if you don’t mind, I’m going to wash up.” “No, I can’t clearly see that your hair is still wet. You must have already washed up.” Ron said. Annie glared. “Well, then I’m going to bed.” Annie got up. “I’m going to get the Headmaster.” Ron said, and stumbled through the, and tried to get up and run after him, but she was pulled back by the wrist by Hermione. Annie yelled out in pain. Ron didn’t stop, only went faster. “Draco’s out there!” Annie yelled. Harry’s eyes widened and he quickly followed. Annie had sat back down, and Ginny rolled up her sleeves. “Bloody Hell, Annie.” She stared at Annie’s black and blue wrists. Annie sighed and looked away. “You told us, in the carriage, that you have snake venom in your back.” Hermione said. Annie huffed. “It doesn’t hurt much anymore.” Annie muttered. “Show me your back.” Hermione ordered. “No way.” Annie said. “Besides, I will not take my clothes off in the middle of the common room, and most certainly not when there are other people present.” “It’s just your back. Change into a skirt and short-sleeved shirt.” Hermione said. “No.” Annie folded her arms. Hermione held out her wand. “Okay, fine.” Annie winced as she stood up and limped to the girl’s dorm. She put on a grey short-sleeved shirt she wore in classes and a plain shirt. She wished she still had her wand, and she really wanted her Phoenix tears back from her robes that she left at the manor. Annie glanced at the open window, letting breeze in. She balanced the thought of escaping through there, but she might fall. She looked out, and saw a ledge, wide enough to sit on. She grabbed a cloak and stepped out and steadily walked around the castle, listening to the rhythm of her shoes tapping on the stone ledge, and the bitter-cold wind biting at her bleeding ear. She finally breathed when she turned a corner, because if Ginny and Hermione looked out, they wouldn’t see her. She looked down and saw Professor Hagrid looking up at her. She kept walking until she made it to another window; she peered in and saw McGonagall correcting papers. Annie laid on her stomach, and pulled herself forward, so she couldn’t see her. She finally, and steadily got to her feet when she got to the other side of the window, she found a long hallway stretching all across the rooftops of the castle. Annie ran across it until she found a puddle of black gooey stuff bubbling in a hole. She looked into it at the right angle and was looking into the Great Hall. So that was how they enchanted the ceiling. Annie sat next to it, not knowing what else to do. This was her dead-end and she could do nothing about it, unless… She looked at the rooftops and climbed across their un-even surfaces, until she found one of the fireplace holes and sat behind the brick formation. They couldn’t find her unless the checked the whole roof. Annie clutched her cloak closer and fell asleep, ignoring the nagging pain from her scarred back. _;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_;_ She woke up in the Hospital Wing and cursed. Guess the roof was a very bad hiding place. Annie found curtains around her, and she got out of bed, stumbled to the flap used for a door, and opened it enough to look out. She found her whole family there, wide eyed and alert. Hermione found her first. Annie’s eyes narrowed and she closed it shut sharply. She let herself fall on the bed. Annie guessed it caused attention around the room. She was right. Her mother ran in and enveloped her into a huge hug. “Ahh.” Annie flinched quietly. Her mother let go immediately. “Why didn’t you tell us?” She questioned. Annie could see her red eyes, wet rimmed and sleepless. Annie didn’t say anything. “I figured your scar was the only one, it’s all my fault.” Molly cried. “I should have known. I should have done something.” “It is not your fault.” Annie muttered. Annie noticed her hair was still blonde. She shuddered. The nurse bustled in, holding a sponge and a dish of some clear liquid, which she set on the end table. She lifted the back of her shirt, and that was as far as she got. Annie knocked her hand away and pulled the blanket around her. “Anita, why do you have to be stubborn?” Madame Pomfrey put her hands on her hips. “I tell you, Mrs. Weasley. She refused last time also, until we got the Headmaster in. Your daughter is as stubborn as a mule.” “Thank you for that comparison.” Annie rolled her eyes. “Molly, could you get the Headmaster for me, please?” She asked. “You are NOT putting that on my back. It Stings.” Annie frowned. “Of course it stings. That’s what heals it.” Pomfrey explained. “It can heal the long way. That is not going on my back.” Annie slid into the already blood-stained bed. The curtain folded aside and Dumbledore arrived, with not a twinkle in his eye. “Anita, please.” Albus stated. “Be reasonable.” “No.” Annie scrunched up her face. “Don’t make us force it on you.” Pomfrey folded her arms. “NO.” Annie pulled the covers closer. “We’re going to need some help.” She called for Bill, Charlie, Arthur and the twins. They were quick to appear. “We need to get this on her back so it will heal. She is being stubborn.” “I told you already, it can heal the long way.” Annie frowned. “Fred, George, Hold her arms, be careful, her wrists are bruised. Charlie and Bill, Hold her feet so she won’t kick.” Molly looked like she was going to cry again. Annie pulled the covers close and wouldn’t let them at her arms or legs, but eventually, they took it from her, and held her in place. “Let me go!” Annie yelled. “You keep that sponge away from me! Leave it be! Let – me – Go!” At that time, the sponge was dabbed on her skin a tiny bit and Annie scrunched her face up and yelled out, pulling her back as far as it would go. “Stop it! That stings! Oww!” She let out a particularly loud shriek when they hit the most sensitive spot. She flailed and kicked as much as she could, until Pomfrey announced she was finished. A black substance dripped down her back, and Annie still cried out. “That wasn’t so bad now, was it?” Fred smirked lop-sidedly. Annie unscrunched her face to glare with the rest of the people until another stream of black venom erupted, then she bit her lip and moaned. “I think we should let her alone for a while.” Bill looked sympathic. Everyone agreed and left the curtained area. Annie tossed the empty bowl onto the ground, and it smashed. Everything in reach was thrown, some even over the top of the curtain. //\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\//\\ After all the black venom was out, Annie could hardly move at all. Harry, Hermione, Ron and Ginny all came in. She refused to talk to any one of them but Ginny, especially Hermione and Ron. She threw a lot of curses at them. They would have been curses if there was a wand involved. “I asked you to just let it be, but no.” Annie hissed. “Now I am here, and in more pain than I was with the scar.” “At least you won’t be beat again.” Harry sheepishly said. “Now I have a lot more to worry about. Another trial, more news articles, Draco, the Slytherins, Lucius’s friends…” Annie sneered more as she went along. “We’re sorry then.” Ron grumbled. “Forgive us?” “Not for a long time, Ronald.” Annie hissed. “Will somebody please change my hair color back to its original color, please?” Hermione tapped her head, and she felt it get cold for a second. Closed her eyes, getting quite tired within a second. “Oh, no, you are not going to sleep yet. I need you to drink this, and let me heal that cut or it’ll get an infection. No fuss.” Madame Pomfrey stated. “Not now.” Annie moaned, not opening her eyes. “Leave me alone.” She drifted out, but was shaken awake again. “Drink this and you can go to sleep.” Madame Pomfrey cooed. “No.” Annie refused. “Please, just go away.” She felt her head tipped back and spicy hot liquid poured down her throat. Annie woke up to talking, but she couldn’t open her eyes, she couldn’t talk, nor could she move a muscle. “My potions have been tampered with, I don’t understand why. I’m Afraid… I’m afraid she won’t make it through tonight.” I AM SOOOO SORRY, GUYS! This chapter really sux except for the first part... The word crashed and I lost EVERYTHING. We just got her back and you say she’ll die?” Molly burst into tears and Annie felt her numb hand be squeezed with pressure, but not in the normal way she knew. “You should have listened to her when she didn’t want the stuff!” Arthur raged. “You killed our Daughter!” Annie tried desperately to tell them everything was alright, but it exploded with pain to try to do so, not to mention she couldn’t hear anything come out. “Mum, can I come in?” Charlie asked, oblivious to what was going on. “No, you stay out there.” Molly sobbed. “It’s for the best.” “Is Annie alright, Dad?” Annie heard her father leave out of the enclosed area and sat on the bed next to the curtains, and she could hear everything they said. “What’s wrong?” Charlie asked. “Son, I don’t know how to tell you this…” Arthur sniffed. “She…” “She didn’t make it?” Charlie’s voice was hallow, no emotion at all. “You can say good-bye to her if you’d like.” Arthur chocked. “But she won’t be able to respond, and she probably won’t be able hear you…” “I don’t believe it.” Charlie’s voice cracked and she felt a cold rush of air circle the room as he entered. Molly stopped crying by now, but her hand was trembling. Annie wanted to just get up and hug her, but nothing she did helped. Suddenly, she felt her lungs tighten, and she tried to get air, but it was like sucking in water. Soon, she couldn’t hear anything. She was playing Quiddich on the Quiddich field, throwing the Quaffle to Ginny, and scored. She was with Tanya, putting the scrunchie on its claw. She was dueling with Draco at seven years old, and successfully knocked him off his feet. She was rolling the ball to Ron, giggling as he cried when it was taken from Him. She was… feeling pain? Annie could feel her lungs filling with air, without help and she wished it would all just go away, but then she didn’t want to give it. Let those Malfoy’s win? Annie felt her chest rise for the second time, more painful than before. Soon, she could see through the tiniest slits in her eyes that they wouldn’t be able to see unless they knew. Ron, Ginny and the others were all in the room, in mostly shock, staring at her. “I don’t think she can go on too much longer, if I give her this, she will feel no pain, but the process will happen sooner.” Pomfrey mumbled softly. She could see a green vial with red specks. Her mother was frozen, staring off into space. “Are you sure there is no chance?” Arthur asked. “She will probably be gone within the next hour, but with this; it will only take a few minutes. “Do it.” Molly whispered and turned away. Annie thought desperately as her head was tipped backward. She closed her throat, just as the cool liquid went inside her mouth. Her head was let go, and she almost let a little slide down her throat. All her concentration went to keep the stuff up, which was harder and harder to do. It must have been at least 15 minutes. “I don’t understand. She still has a pulse.” Pomfrey gasped. Molly looked up, hopefully. “Are you sure it was the right potion?” Ron asked, voice hardly audible. “Of course, I just whipped this up.” Poppy whispered Annie felt her mouth pried open. A large gasped escaped Pomfrey’s mouth. “She isn’t letting it down!” “GET IT OUT!” Molly screamed. Annie felt herself thrown on her stomach, and the contents thrown out. She was soon having someone rinse out her mouth with water. There was an uproar from her family. She was thrown into a deep hug and her chin resting on Molly’s shoulder. Annie wished that her eyes would open more, because she was at an angle that didn’t allow her to see much other than the floor. Her wish was granted, somewhat. “Look! Her eyes are open!” Hermione gasped. She must have seen them move under the eyelids. Annie was quite thankful to be laid back on the bed. “They are open, I can see them!” Ginny cried. She felt the lid being pushed up slightly and she could see a lot more. She looked around, but the light was too much. She opened her mouth, but nothing would come out. She got used to the light, but her eye was drying out. “Annie, can you hear us? Do you mind if I give you a test?” Pomfrey asked. “Follow my finger.” It was easy, all she had to do was trail after her old index finger. People cheered, but she saw nothing good about it. She wanted to blink, Let go Hermione! “Should we let her sleep?” Percy asked. “Yes.” Arthur whispered, voice cheerful. She silently thanked Percy, but didn’t want sleep, she wanted to get up and walk around. Molly grabbed her hand and patted it as the rest left. She mostly stayed downstairs and on the couch the whole time, pigging out on the food she was given because she could. After a week, she was able to use her wand easily again, hexing the flowers to dance and water themselves. She could even move her arms perfectly, but her legs weren’t responding like she’d hoped and her voice wasn’t working right either. Bill and Charlie came over daily to check up on her, and she wanted to talk to them desperately. “I think we should take you to St. Mungo’s to check up on your speech and you’re walking.” Molly said, taking a portkey to the hospital. That’s when she got the most horrifying news. “Your vocal cords aren’t working, and you won’t be able to walk again.” The nurse had said. Annie angrily scratched a not into a piece of paper. ‘I haven’t given up yet, so don’t give up on me.’ Was what she wrote. She was given a wheel chair and Annie wanted to get back to Hogwarts. She knew how to do magic without the incantations, so she could still learn. Her mother hesitantly agreed. Annie arrived, her wheelchair already decorated in things like Quaffles and brooms. Her father even put on some muggle horns, which she had a low sounding one to signal, ‘No,’ and a high one for, ‘yes.’ Annie also easily learned tricks on it. She rolled into the Hall unnoticed and up to the end of the Gryffindor table. The older students merely stared at her. Now she wanted to go back home. She ate quietly, hoping her friends would notice her, they were so preoccupied with cleaning up Neville’s spilt drink. Annie got angry at the stares from the other students and rolled herself out. She got as far as the entrance Hall stairs, where she couldn’t go any further. Ginny was the first to come out, trying to get the Pumpkin Juice from her shirt. They were led to hallways with dead ends, but the portraits were actually doors. He opened one of a raven on a fireplace and pronounced, ‘Never more.’ He showed all the other portraits for the different levels. One had pixies flying about a garden, and the password was Blumberries; another was a woman reading on a rock on a hill, which the password was Maple; and a dark portrait of a man glaring at the people as they passed which password was Ebony. The other ones were off limits. “Thank you, Sir.” Ginny said and Annie smiled. They could hear people coming up the stairs. Ginny and her walked to the Portrait of the fat lady and said the password. Ginny stopped when Annie couldn’t get in. Ginny made the hole door-sized, so Annie could just wheel in. “Wait till Ron sees you. He has been bragging how tough you are.” Ginny giggled. Annie smirked and rolled her eyes. “You know, I haven’t heard you talk, you cant yet, can you?” Annie shook her head. “Right someone’s coming.” Ginny smiled. It was only Neville, Seamus and Dean. Annie waved and they mostly just stared at her as they went to the boy’s dorm. Neville stayed behind, eyes wide. “Ron wasn’t lying, was he?” Neville asked. Annie looked to Ginny. “Neville, I told you twice before, She did live.” Ginny rolled her eyes. “Just making sure, it seemed so unbelievable. You refused to swallow stuff that would kill you, even though you couldn’t move?” Annie sighed and nodded. How she wished she was able to talk. You must see me after class for your assignments.” Snape sneered. “Now onto the lesson…” People were staring at her, and Annie jokingly glared at Ron. Ron looked hurt. Annie couldn’t stay up for a whole day since the whole ‘dying incident’ happened, and found herself dozing off in the middle of the hour. “Miss Weasley!” Was what got her up. Snape hadn’t heard, lucky for her. He had continued with the lesson, but Annie’s throat felt like she tore something, and the rest of the hour she was holding her throat. “You did it, Annie!” Hermione smiled. Annie looked at the clock and noticed Ginny had 3 minutes to get to the next class. “Gin!” Annie pushed her awake. “Wa…?” Ginny asked. She rubbed her eyes and grumpily said, “What time is it?” “10:15.” Annie chocked out. Ginny’s eyes widened. “I don’t have enough time to get to potions!” She shrieked. Annie frowned, but got an Idea. “I can race you there on this thing…” Annie motioned to the wheelchair. My throat is feeling a bit sore. Got anything for it?” “Are you saying you are accepting a potion?” She asked, shocked. “Just as long as it helps my throat, I will allow it. Every time I talk seems to hurt it.” Annie sighed. She came back with a goblet. “What’s in it?” Annie looked in it. “Phoenix feather bits, Mineral water, and unicorn hairs.” She said. Annie looked in and saw the hairs floating inside. She plugged her nose and let it float down. She grimaced and handed it back. “Thanks.” Annie coughed. Annie talked a bit and then wheeled out. The rest of the classes went by fast. Hagrid showed them an extinct species of bird. It was extinct only to the Muggle world because they adapted to invisibility. It was called a Requike. Annie absolutely hated the thing because it nipped at her when she tried to pet it. In Herbology, they picked muggle carrots whose seeds have been mixed with Liquid Gold. The leaves were gold, and very pretty, while the carrot itself was ordinary. They were venturing back to the castle when Ginny met them at the front doors. “Annie, you were supposed to meet Snape after class!” Ginny said. Snape’s lip curled. “For your assignments, Miss Weasley, you have to make up 2 tests, and 2 essays.” Snape explained. “I’m already swamped as it is.” Annie groaned and took her potions book from the basket in the back of her seat. “What pages.” “If your explanations of why you are that hurt are reasonable enough, I will cut your assignments off, but you still have to take the tests.” Snape sneered. “And you won’t tell?” Annie surveyed him. Snape ushered her. “Lucius Malfoy did it, with the help of his Son. Anymore obsessive Questions, Professor?” “Your two tests will be made up during study period. Your detention will be served by making Healing potions for Madame Pomfrey.” Snape explained. When they neared, she stared at Annie funny in a skeptic way. “Well seeing as the Twins quit, the others lost interest.” Angelina scowled. “So we need 4 more players. 2 chasers and 2 beaters.” “You, come up here.” She pointed to Colin Creevey. “C’mere.” He meekly came to the front. “Which position are you interested in?” “Chaser.” He whispered. “Alright, all Chasers, come up front.” Angelina Muttered. And she stared mostly as Annie wheeled forward. Ron quickly ran next to her and whispered in her ear. “Don’t even Try, Ron.” Annie hissed. Ron’s ears went slightly red, just like hers did when she got embarrassed. Annie smirked. “Alright, all of you need a broom.” She waved her hand to a bunch of school brooms. Ginny brought her a broom and mounted her own. Annie got on, but it was hard to do it without looking too much of a fool. She straightened and smiled. Ginny did too. “Alright. We will start with passing, get into a circle.” The captain said. Annie was so thrilled that she hadn’t lost any ability. Parvati, Colin, Dennis, and a 2nd year she had never seen before. Annie felt quite confident. The boys looked strangely. Anyway, the rules went easily. You need to send the Quaffle to the other side, and into a circle, the two who don’t drop it, wins a spot on the team. Go!” The Quaffle was sent in Colin’s direction, and he caught it and threw it to the second year, who failed to come close to it, because it was poorly thrown. She got out, and the ball was handed back to Colin. He through it to Ginny, who hardly caught it, but pushed it over to Dennis. He was caught off guard, but caught it with his fingertips. He sent it to Annie, who had to move slightly right to get it, but she got it. Colin, Annie and Ginny were the last, and had gone on for a while. Angelina called for them to back up into a larger circle. Colin was very good, But Ginny was even better. Annie had no clue where she stood. Colin threw it, and it went high above her head. It was going strait down to the ground. Annie was so close to get it, but she would hurtle strait to the ground if she didn’t pull up. She put on a burst of speed, and swooped under it just in time. Ginny was smiling, and Annie flew back into place. Annie tossed it to Ginny, and she threw it to Colin. It began to get boring, and Soon, Angelina blew her whistle. “Try scoring.” She called. Ginny had the ball and tossed it in easily. Annie did the same, but Colin hit the metal rim. She pulled herself back up and swung her foot forward, and put her weight on her leg, but soon fell to her knees, sprawled on the floor. Annie went inside and practiced in the Girls Dorm all night. *************** Annie finally could stand by herself, and she was quite hot-headed in the morning when Hermione said they had to go to Transfiguration. Annie was reluctant to go, but eventually did. “Today we will be doing more Animals to Animals all year. Today, we will be making Turtles into Ghost Birds.” McGonagall explained. “The incantation is, Cortex Acalanthis. Begin. You have until 10:50 to complete the task.” This was Annie’s favorite subject in Beauxbatons. Or ‘altérer’ in French. She knew this one by heart in French, so she used that instead. “Oiseau Tortue.” Annie pronounced at the tiny turtle staring at her. Its head stretched and turned a silver transparent color. It soon formed into a beautiful Ghost bird that gracefully looked around. “10 points to Gryffindor.” McGonagall beamed. “Now try to alter the charm with, recidivus.” “Retour.” Annie stated quietly. It changed back smoothly. “Excellent, Miss Weasley.” She smiled. “Another 10 points. Wonderfully Done. Would you mind helping Mr. Longbottom?” “Sure.” Annie wheeled over carrying her tiny shelled creature to Neville’s seat and pulled the other chair away. “I’m never good at anything.” He mumbled. “’Course you are.” Annie stated. “I may need your help in Herbology. I am far behind you. Would you mind?” Neville beamed and Annie took that as a yes. “Okay, now what was the incantation again?” Annie asked. “I thought you would know. You did that beautifully.” Neville muttered. “Only in French.” Annie frowned. “It’s just easier for me. Alright… umm… oh yeah. Cortex Acalanthis.” Annie told him. Neville pointed his wand at it and told the words. The turtle turned transparent. Annie smiled. “Really close. You know what helps with me? It’s an old French trick. Hold out pinky at the way bottom of your wand. You know, so your magic goes through the wand better. Like this.” Annie used her thumb, index and middle finger to hold it, and the pinky to support it underneath. She had to help him a bit, but he figured it out. “Now point to it, and say, Cortex Acalanthis.” She turned the grayish turtle back to its original state. Neville used his charm, and a more distinct, but still nicely done Ghost Bird was floating on his desk. His face beamed. “Oh, and the whole hold thing works on all charms.” Annie winked. Neville looked ready to cry of happiness. “Look! Neville’s done it!” Harry announced. Heads turned to their table, and Neville looked around, confident. “Good work, Mr. Longbottom. 10 points for your house.” McGonagall smiled. Neville looked at Annie in shock. “I never earn points!” Neville gapped. Annie gave him a thumbs-up. I am having a wonderful time now without that Draco Malfoy. I hope you are doing well. Oh, and another thing. I made the Quiddich team! I’m a chaser! Ginny is also! Isn’t it so awesome? Annie, Neville and Hermione got together and worked on a History Essay due Friday in the library for a while, Hermione had insisted. Annie had invited Neville because she really liked hanging around him, and he seemed overjoyed to come study. “The Vampire Retreat was boring.” Annie complained. “They basically were forced to give their blood supply to Hospitals. The blood had been mixed together and 22,000 people lost their lives. It’s sad and all but… I really don’t care.” “Annie, please. If that hadn’t been found out, people wouldn’t know now that people can’t be given any type of blood but their own type.” Hermione said. “Right.” Annie mumbled and rested her head on her head she copied a lot from the books but mixed them up a bit. The door slammed open and a black hooded figure bustled to the front. People stood up strait, gapping. “My name is Marc Vang.” He took off his hood, revealing his bony face and long black hair. Annie’s heart sank. “I go by Vang. Not Mr. Vang. Not Professor Vang. Vang.” Silence filled the classroom as he surveyed the class. Annie stared at him, eyes flaring. He was the one who didn’t want her to go back to the Weasley’s. “Alright, I see a few… familiar faces…” He glared in Annie’s direction. She growled and headed off to the showers. She surveyed the injuries she got, and found them white spots and dry. Her back was a rosy red when the infected area was, which was about the size of Pigwidgeon. He mouthed one word to her. ‘Run.’ Annie’s eyes widened. She was taken to the center of the circle and she looked around. Draco was fingering his dark wand. Annie pretended to stumble on a rock and fell. She slowly rose as if she was acting casual. Vang nodded towards Draco, also. This was her only opportunity. She pounded her feet as fast as she could, whipping Draco’s wand from her hand. She prepared to start running, but then latched her arm around Draco’s neck and pulled him. The others were trying to find their wands in their robes. Vang kicked his over to them with the back of his foot and pretended to search his pockets. Annie grabbed it and pulled Draco along, surprised to see he went with her fast. A few people found their wands and Annie put her wand strait over her head. “Obumbro Amplector!” Annie hissed, and a large lightning-like shield formed around her. It was one of those Illegal spells that sucks power from whoever shoots spells at them. Annie knew she would suffer big time for that. It was in Lucius’s library, in the way back. Ron ordered one up and suddenly a gold ball with solid letters that said, ‘Ron and Hermione, basically. Harry and Ginny got a red one with their names on it, only the writing was glowing. “Which color do you want, Neville?” Annie asked. “Oh, you probably don’t want people to know I went with you, its okay.” Neville blushed. “Of course I do.” Annie smiled and put her hand on his shoulder. “Come on, which color do you like?” “Gold.” He smiled. Out came a Gold ball with ‘Neville and Anita’ glowing on it. She smiled. “Hey, why are yours glowing and ours aren’t?” Ron pouted. “Oh, Ron, quit complaining!” Hermione rolled her eyes “Maybe it isn’t satisfied with your attire. Ron’s ears went red and he fixed it. “Well are we going to put the ornaments up or what?” Ginny asked. “Of course.” Hermione sighed as they hung them up next to Harry and Ginny. Vang even told her that he knew all along she was a Weasley. Annie and Neville became more than friends, and Ginny teased them for a while. She was finally happy. She may have been happy before, but that was nothing compared to what she felt now. She was finally home, at last. Harry had defeated Voldemort as well as a few of his Followers. Including Lucius Malfoy. Narcissa was killed by her sister, Bellatrix, for ‘leaking information’ about her before she went back to Azkaban and received the Dementors Kiss. Draco Malfoy didn’t even pretend to grieve and now lives in the Malfoy manor with a few of his roommates, also known as his cronies. Vang was given Order of Merlin, 2nd Class for helping Harry defeat him, while Harry Received 1st class. Charlie married a week before their 7th year graduation in 1996 to a muggle, Lisa York. She knew about Magic for a long time because her Aunt was a Witch. Bill was with his Wife, Kelly Peters, and their new baby, Connor Weasley. Harry and Ginny married, also. Hermione and Ron got together but then broke up because they fought too much. Percy Married Penelope Clearwater, of course. What ever Happened to Annie Weasley?
