Ways to Annoy Lord Voldemort - Ask him why he 'doesn't have such a cool scar?' (Mugglenet.com)

********************

All around the room there were flashes of light as the Death Eaters and the members of the Order of the Phoenix duelled with each other. A wizard with black hair was laughing as he duelled with a female Death Eater. All of sudden he was hit by a curse and fell backwards through an arc with a veil that appeared to be blowing in the wind. As the man fell, a boy named Harry Potter awoke dripping with cold sweat.

Harry Potter had kept having that same dream, about his godfather Sirius Black falling through the veil in the Department of Mysteries, over and over again for the past two weeks, ever since he had come back to Number 4 Privet Drive to stay for the summer with his Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon and cousin Dudley as he had done ever since he started Hogwarts. Even though his best friends, Ron and Hermione, had constantly wrote to him since he got back to Privet Drive telling him that it wasn't his fault the Sirius died, Harry still kept blaming himself. He also had the prophecy echoing in his head constantly reminding him that he would either have to eventually kill Voldemort or Voldemort would eventually kill him.

Harry realised that he wasn’t going to get back to sleep and got up, he got dressed and tried to tidy his hair. Just as he was finishing getting dressed there was a soft tap on his window. Waiting at the window was a brown barn owl that was there to deliver the Wizarding paper, The Daily Prophet. Harry opened the window and the owl hopped in. Harry took the paper from its beak and paid the owl. As the owl flew out of the window, Harry opened the paper. The headline of the paper was all about the upcoming wizarding election. The old Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge was being kicked out of office for not alerting the Wizarding public of Voldemort's return. There were seven wizards and one witch running for Minister for Magic. The elections would be held in a week and the competition for top job was heating up, literally. Several people had sent their least favourite candidates Howlers which had exploded causing small fires. As Harry scanned through the rest of the paper, full of spells defensive spells to protect people from Voldemort and any uncaptured Death Eaters, he heard a rustling of wings. Looking over he saw it was his own snowy white owl, Hedwig. Harry untied the letter from her leg as she hopped over to her cage. As he opened the letter, he saw Hermione's handwriting and read the attached note

Dear Harry, How are you? I'm going to a family reunion with my parents tomorrow so if you need to contact me just tell Hedwig and she'll find me. I’ll be back two weeks before the start of term. Love Hermione.

Harry put the note down. He wished he could go with Hermione, just so he could get away from Privet Drive. Although he now knew why he had to stay at Privet Drive and live with his Aunt and Uncle like he had ever since his parents were killed by Voldemort when he was just one, Hogwarts felt more like home than Privet Drive. Harry opened his new book, Dark Arts Defence, which Lupin had sent him yesterday. He had read two pages when, once again, there was a rustling of wings and a black owl flew into his bedroom, dropping the envelope that was in its beak on Harry's bed before perching on Harry's desk. Harry turned the envelope over and on the back of the envelope was the Hogwarts crest. Harry held his breath and opened the envelope. Inside were three pieces of parchment. He opened the first one and read it.

Dear Mr. Potter, Please find the enclosed list of required supplies and your OWL scores. After reading your OWL scores, please select which subjects you wish to continue studying for your remaining two years at Hogwarts. Also, you are now reinstated as Seeker of the Gryffindor Quidditch Team and we would like you to fill the place of Captain. Enjoy the remainder of your holiday and we'll see you on the first of September. Professor M. McGonagall.

Gryffindor Quidditch Captain! Harry couldn't believe it. His Quidditch ban had been lifted and now he was Quidditch Captain as well. Remembering that his OWL scores were inside, he opened the second piece of paper. He had been looking forward to (and dreading) finding out his OWL scores since he had taken them. He breathed a sigh of relief as he read his scores.

Charms - Exceeds Expectations
Transfiguration - Exceeds Expectations
Defence Against the Dark Arts - Outstanding
Potions - Exceeds Expectations
Herbology - Exceeds Expectations
Astronomy - Acceptable
History of Magic - Acceptable
Care for Magical Creatures - Exceeds Expectations
Divination - Poor

He knew that he was going to fail Divination but was glad of his other results especially the Outstanding he had gotten on his Defence Against the Dark Arts test. He remembered all the DA meetings that were held so that people could actually learn to do defensive spells and not just learn the theory like Umbridge taught them. Harry was also worried because he hadn't got Outstanding in Potions (not that he thought he actually would) but he needed Potions if he was going to be an Auror. Professor Snape, the Potions teacher, didn't take anyone into his NEWT class unless they got an Outstanding on their OWL. Remembering the third note he was sent, Harry opened the note and filled it in.

Care for Magical Creatures
Any Questions:
Can I still get into Potions?

Harry signed the letter, gave it back to the black owl and the owl flew off. Hearing someone walk past his door and down the stairs, Harry walked downstairs to get some breakfast. As he reached the kitchen, he saw Uncle Vernon reading the paper and Aunt Petunia making breakfast. She muttered a hello to Harry as he entered the kitchen. Harry helped himself to some cereal and went outside to eat it. When he had finished he went back upstairs to his room. As he opened the door, something soft ran into his head. Looking around, Harry saw Ron's pet owl, Pig, flying around the room. Grabbing Pig, Harry took the note that was tied to the small owl's leg and read it, while Pig zoomed out of the room. He opened the note and read it.

Hi Harry, Are the Muggles treating you okay? This has got to be quick 'cause I'm helping Fred and George at their shop today for a bit of extra money. Mum wanted me to check up on you and see if you needed anything. Do you? Gotta go but I'll write later. From Ron.

Harry finished reading Ron's note, feeling jealous. He wasn't allowed to get a part time job because the Dursleys wouldn't let him. Dudley was too lazy to get himself a job, but he got whatever he wanted when he wanted it, so he didn't need the money anyway. Harry picked up Dark Arts Defence and went downstairs. When he reached the bottom of the stairs, Aunt Petunia called him. Sighing, he went into the kitchen where his Aunt was cleaning up for breakfast. Uncle Vernon had clearly left for work and Dudley was nowhere to be seen.

"What are you doing today?" asked Aunt Petunia.

"What?" asked Harry, completely taken aback by the question.

"What are you doing today?" repeated Aunt Petunia. "Have you got anything planned?"

"No," replied Harry. "Why?"

"I got this in the mail today and I need you to be home at nine o'clock," said Aunt Petunia, handing Harry a letter.

Harry unfolded the letter and read it.

To Petunia Dursley,
Can you please ensure that you and Harry are alone today at nine o'clock. There is something I need to discuss with you both.
Albus Dumbledore.

"I've sent Dudley to the movies and your Uncle will be at work all day," said Aunt Petunia as Harry put down the letter. "So, um, will you be here?"

"I suppose so," replied Harry looking at his watch. It was already quarter past eight.

"Good," said Aunt Petunia as Harry went outside to read his book.

Harry went and sat on the lawn outside and opened his book. After he had read the same sentence three times he closed his book and wondered what Dumbledore wanted to see him and Aunt Petunia for. Harry was still feeling anger towards Dumbledore for not telling him about the prophecy sooner. Maybe if Dumbledore had told him about the prophecy, Sirius might still be alive today. Thinking about the prophecy and Sirius made Harry remember about Voldemort. Harry wondered where Voldemort was now and what he was doing. Looking down at his watch, Harry saw that it was ten to nine and he got up and went back inside. He had just put his book back on his desk when he heard a car pull up in the driveway and then the doorbell rang.
