Author¡¦s Note: Download Stevie Nicks¡¦ ¡§Landslide¡¨ and listen to it as you read the story. It¡¦s quite moving with the music¡K Just put it on repeat¡K If you can¡¦t download it, it¡¦s still fairly good, as long as you know the melody¡K If you don¡¦t know the melody, the words won¡¦t lose their meaning.
Credit to: my best friend, Molly who loves this song and got me hooked on it¡K She¡¦s ¡§Strong like Bull, but quick like Lizard.¡¨ She¡¦s also my evil twin¡K (No, not really¡K We¡¦re not even related¡K But we look very similar º)
Disclamer: Not my world, I just live in it!
I took my love and I took it down
Climbed a mountain then I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide brought me down...
Harry Potter¡¦s once bright emerald eyes were now vapid basins of despair when the Triwizard Competition ended. Lily Potter watched her son from the sky. Harry was barely listening to his friends as they tried to cheer him up. She looked at him with sad eyes as her once happy-to-be-at-Hogwarts son now wished more than anything to be dead.
He had seen a fellow student die because of the wrath of Voldemort. Why wouldn¡¦t he just leave her son alone? That horrible excuse for a man! She thought. Poor Harry only wants a normal life! Lily felt what would be a tear roll down her pale, glowing, transparent face. James came over and put his arm around her.
Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life...
"Lily," he began. "There is nothing you can do."
"Harry?" asked Hermione quietly.
Harry nodded in answer.
"Are you okay?"
Harry didn¡¦t know how to answer this, he wasn¡¦t okay at all. In fact, he felt he had no purpose in life. He had let another person be killed. It was his fault his parents were dead. He could never do anything right! "Fine." He felt himself answer.
"Okay. Would you like to go to Hogsmeade with us?" Ron asked.
"No, I think I want to stay here."
"Do you want us with you?" Hermione asked.
"No, why don't you guys go ahead. I need to think." Harry answered with no tone in his voice.
"Is there anyway I can tell him I love him?" Lily plead.
"Yes, just say so. What do you think wind is?" James answered holding his wife tighter.
Harry sat on the warm rock next to the lake. The Durmstrang ship had left, along with the Beauxbatons carriage. The Hogwarts students had a few days to themselves before the term was officially over. Everyone had gone to Hogsmeade to celebrate another Hogwarts year.
A crisp breeze blew his hair out of his eyes. ¡§Don¡¦t hide them, they¡¦re beautiful.¡¨ The wind whispered then died down.
"Who's -- Who's there?¡¨ Harry stammered surprised.
"I love you Harry." It whispered again. "We both love you very much."
Well, I've been afraid of changin'
'Cause I built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
I'm getting older too...
Harry sat back on the rock, moist flames burning in his eyes. He picked up a small pebble and threw it into the lake watching it skip several times before the large tentacle pulled it down. Harry sighed.
'What more do you want from me? I've lost Cedric, my parents, hell, I can't even live with my own godfather.' Harry sighed again.
He felt a strong yet gentle hand on his shoulder. "Harry?" a voice asked. Harry jumped slightly as he realized he was looking into the deep brown eyes of Remus Lupin. They were red and moist. "Harry, are you okay?" he asked.
No! His heart screamed. No! You're not okay, and you know it! "I'm fine." Harry answered again.
Remus looked thoughtfully at Harry. "No you're not. I'm not stupid. You don't have to tell me you know, but if not me, you should tell someone."
"Thank you Professor. Er¡--Why are you here?" Harry answered numbly.
"Remus, Harry. Remus. Please tell someone okay?" Remus said giving Harry's shoulder an encouraging squeeze. "Promise? I'm here to meet with Dumbledore, but I came a little early. Promise you'll talk to someone?"
"I promise, Remus." Harry said quietly.
Remus smiled sadly at Harry and turned to leave.
Harry hesitated at first after not seeing his old Defense Against The Dark Arts teacher for a year. "Remus?" he said after finally getting his strength he just felt it was right to talk to him.
"Hm?" Remus' eyes were even redder and moister.
Harry heaved a big sigh and looked straight into Remus' eyes. "I'm not fine."
Remus turned back around and sat down on the rock with Harry. He put his arm around his shoulder as Harry told him what was wrong. Sirius came over in the form of Padfoot and laid his head on Remus' knees. Harry told of his problems pausing every once in a while to wipe away the tears the formed in his eyes. Hermione and Ron came over to the group and put their arms around Harry too. The summer seemed a long shot of being anything better than grim, but they knew they¡¦d get through it, for Harry¡¦s sake they would.
So, take this love and take it down
Yeah, and if you climb a mountain and ya turn around
And If you see my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide brought me down...
"They really care about him." Lily said to her husband.
"I know." James answered.
"We love you Harry, and we're very proud of you.. Good luck. We'll see you when it's time. But that isn't for a while. We love you so much. Thank you..."
