Chapter 2: Chapter Two: Discoveries
Harry and Ginny entered the Great Hall, hurrying towards the group of their family as eyes turned on them. Ginny could feel Harry tense and his grip on her hand tighten as he looked around, fearing most reactions. As Harry sat down next to Ginny, he couldn't help but notice Ron and Hermione at the end of the table, whispering feverishly. Mr. and Mrs.Weasley started talking to Ginny, leaving Harry in his own thoughts.
His eyes wandered around the Great Hall more, and was surprised to see the familiar white hair of the Malfoy's sitting together at the end of the Slytherin table. Harry ignored them, leaving them up to the Ministry to take care of. A sudden movement caught Harry's eyes, and looked to see Hermione pointing towards his chest, and whispered something else to Ron. Harry could feel his breath catch in his throat as he figured what they were talking about. Fear gripped at Harry and his bruise, threatening to overtake him once again. Harry tried to act normal and ignore the pain that was now coming from his chest, and was suddenly aware Mr. Weasley was talking to him.
"Harry?" Mr. Weasley asked him again, a note a panic in his voice.
"Sorry, what was that again?" Harry asked.
"Kingsley and Minerva informed me that they would like to talk to you, Hermione, and Ron after dinner tonight."
"Oh," Harry replied, caught off guard "I'll talk to Ron and Hermione about it, but I'm okay with it."
Before anyone could reply, Harry stood up and walked over to Hermione and Ron, who had stopped talking and were simply holding on to each other.
"Hey, Harry." Ron said as soon as Harry sat down next to him.
"Ron, did your dad tell you that Kingsley and McGonagall want to talk to us after dinner?" Harry asked him.
"Yeah, not that long ago." Ron replied.
"They obviously want to know were we've been for the last 10 months, why not just get it over with?" Hermione told them.
"I don't know, should we tell them about the Horcrux's?" Harry asked quietly, deep in thought.
"I think we should. I don't believe that they would tell anyone else." Hermione reassured him.
"We should tell them everything." Ron added.
"Like what happened in the forest." Hermione whispered.
Harry froze in his seat, unprepared for her words. How did they know? The only person he told was Ginny, who hadn't even been with Ron and Hermione since he told her. Ron and Hermione cast a worry look as they looked at Harry's reaction, scared of what he might say.
"I need to get changed and ready for dinner." Harry muttered, and hurriedly left the Great Hall.
Ron and Hermione watched his retreating back, disappointment etched on their faces. Seeing this, the Weasley's and Fleur came over by them, even George left his fallen twin to see what happened.
"What's wrong, dears?" Mrs. Weasley asked as she sat next to Hermione.
"Harry, he's keeping something from us. We just don't know what it is, all we know is that he ended up somehow in that forest somehow with Voldemort, and his chest is causing him pain." Hermione replied.
"Your right," Ginny said, causing shocked looks her way, "When I talked to Harry, he mentioned the forest, but that was it. I noticed him holding his chest too, so your probably right about that as well."
"I saw his chest in the dorm, Ginny. It was bad, it was completely black, right over his heart." Hermione told her.
The Weasley's were shocked by the information, and were slightly scared as well. George was even showing worry for Harry. Ginny sat up from her seat, a determined look on her face.
"I'm going to find out what happened to his chest." She announced.
"How will you do that?" Percy asked her.
"Because she's his girlfriend." George told them, a hint a sarcasm in his voice.
Shocked looks were shared by the rest of the Weasley's, Ron and Hermione smirked at her.
"Is this true, dear?" Mrs. Weasley asked, a tone of surprise in her voice.
"Yes, mum." Ginny replied, blushing furiously.
"From the way you two were kissing, I hope its true." Ron added.
Ginny's head snapped up at Ron, and glared at him, causing him to flinch. Ginny muttered a quick goodbye to her startled family and made her way up to the dorm she knew Harry would be in. As she opened the door, Ginny noticed his clothes lay on the ground, and could hear the shower running in the bathroom. That wasn't the only thing she could hear, Ginny thought she could hear sobbing as well, mixed in with gasp's of pain.
"Harry?" Ginny called as she knocked on the door.
"I'll be out in a minute!" Harry's voice called, higher than usual.
Ginny sighed and sat down on his bed, waiting as patiently as she could. After about 10 minutes, Harry came out of the bathroom, wearing clothes that had holes in them, as well as some dirt. She looked up into his eyes and saw they still had very little light in them, and were red rimmed on the edges.
"What's wrong?" Ginny asked.
Harry rubbed at his eye for a second, "Got soap in my eye earlier." He replied.
"That's a damn lie, Harry Potter, I know you were crying. What's wrong?" Ginny asked again.
Harry sighed, knowing Ginny would end up having her way in the end, and joined her on the bed.
"I just feel guilty, that's all. I feel like if I had been quicker, I could of finished Voldemort sooner, and saved everyone."
"Harry," Ginny said, "You couldn't of know this would happen, but those people died fighting with you, not for you."
Some comfort came to Harry from her words, but he still felt guilty. Ginny could tell he didn't want to talk about the subject anymore, and she dropped it. She also dropped the idea of asking Harry about the bruise on his chest, she didn't want to make him upset or angry. Instead, Ginny took his hand in hers, and looked into his eyes. Harry used his other hand to cup her cheek, and leaned in to kiss her. Ginny responded to the kiss, quickly and passionately, feeling a warming sensation in her body. Harry felt the same heat too, and ended the kiss quickly, scared were it would lead to.
"Lets go back down," Harry told her, "I have a feeling Kingsley wants everyone in the Hall."
Ginny nodded and took off with Harry, feeling content and slightly breathless.
Ron and Hermione watched as Harry and Ginny entered the Hall and spotted them before walking their way. Hermione knew that they were in for a awkward night after dinner, and hoped that Harry would soon feel better, and would be able to talk about what happened in the forest with Voldemort soon. The look on Harry's face as he sat down with Ginny told her not to question him now, and she accepted that, knowing he needed some spare at the moment.
Harry didn't listen to Kingsley speech, but was more focus on the pain coming from his chest. As the pain got worse, his face started giving away the pain he felt. He was grateful everyone was giving Kingsley attention at the moment.
Ron, on the other hand, was looking directly at Harry, concerned for the pain his friend was enduring. But he knew that look on Harry's face too, and knew not to ask him about it right now. Ron reluctantly agreed not to ask, and tried to pay attention to the speech Kingsley was giving.
