Harry Potter and his Sodalis Vitae. by FawkesThePhoenix
Chapter 6: Help from the Enemy.
"How shall I do this? I've waited all this time to kill Harry Potter and he's finally here, unarmed, begging to be saved. I think, therefore, I shall enjoy this." Voldemort said cruelly.
Harry didn't know what to do. No one was around to protect him, he didn't even have his wand, there was nothing to do but wait to die. He took his last breath and closed his eyes and tried to think of happy thoughts. His mind searched for memories which would make this experience less horrifying. He thought about all the fun times he had with Ron and Hermione, mainly Hermione. He pictured the moments he spent with Sirius and Lupin - the links to his parents. He waited, he did nothing but wait. He dared to open his eyes and everything was...well normal.
"Harry, what's going on? Are you okay?" Hermione yelled.
"Hermione? Get help. Voldemort is here. Go get someone to help me." Harry warned.
"Harry? What are you talking about? Voldemort isn't here. We're at the Leaky Cauldron." Hermione explained gently.
"What? No, I was in Knockturn Alley with Voldemort and Lucius Malfoy. I didn't have a wand and Voldemort said he was going to enjoy killing me." Harry panicked.
"Harry, calm down. Listen to me, you haven't left the Leaky Cauldron. You ordered some Butterbeer and, well...collapsed onto the floor. I didn't know what to do, Kingsley said to just leave you but I couldn't do that. I sat by you. You were only out for about ten minutes." Hermione told him.
"So, no one's hurt you?" Harry questioned.
"No, but we're not talking about me. Are you okay? Do you want to go back to Grimmauld Place?"
"No. I'm fine, I must have been hungry and fainted or something," Harry mumbled.
For the rest of their visit at Diagon Alley, Hermione worriedly looking at Harry. They got everything they needed and Harry, who always liked to keep his promises, got Hermione a magical bracelet, which changed mood and colour to match whatever outfit she was wearing, from the market stall outside the main shops.
"Harry, you shouldn't have,"Hermione whined all the way back to Fred and George's shop.
"Hermione, it's done." Harry smiled. "Actually, Hermione. If you want to repay me, you could do it by not telling anyone what happened at the Leaky Cauldron. I've spoken to Kingsley and he promised he wouldn't mention it."
It looked like hard work for her but, eventually, she agreed to keep it a secret. "But, if it happens again." She nagged.
"Yes, if it happens again, you can tell someone." He agreed.
"Did everyone get what they needed?" Mrs Weasley asked everyone at dinner.
"Yep, I also got Harry a present, you're going to love it, mate," Ron said.
"Me and Fred got him something better." Gloated George.
"You shouldn't have. I don't need any presents." Harry said, trying to contain his excitement.
'I'm glad you all had a good time. I want to talk to Ron, Ginny, Fred and George after dinner." Mrs Weasley demanded.
"Again? But I need to talk to Harry about something, I haven't spoken to him yet, not properly anyway. Ron whined.
"Oh dear, Ronniekins, are you missing your friend?" Mocked Fred.
"Shut up." Scolded Ron. "What are you going to talk to us about?" Ron asked.
"You'll see," Mr Weasley replied.
"I guess it's just us again, then." Teased Harry. "Sorry."
"It's not your fault, I'll live." Laughed Hermione. "Harry, there's an owl at your window."
"Who would send me a letter? Everyone I write to are here." Harry walked over to the window and let the owl in.
"Haha, Harry, who calls you 'Water Angel'?" Hermione didn't even try to hide her laugh.
"What? Give it here."
'Dear Water Angel,
I am very happy with your plan. Start now and it will be about done by the start of school. I loved seeing you today.
Fire Demon. '
"Who is this Fire Demon? Do you think it's someone from school?" Harry pondered.
"Harry, don't you know who's writing that is? You really are oblivious to what's right in front of you." Harry suspected that she was talking about something else too, but he was too shocked to hear she knew who took Ginny to care.
"You mean you know who took her yesterday? Why didn't you say anything?"
"No, I didn't know then who took her. But I've been thinking and I know the writing. You know it too, but subconsciously you are telling yourself it's not true. Harry, look at the writing. Tell me you know who's it is." Hermione pleaded. "I want my suspicion to be wrong. Please, Harry."
"Hermione, I honestly don't know what you're talking about. I don't recognise this writing. I'm sorry"
"Maybe it's good you don't know who's writing it is. I could be wrong. Let's hope for Ginny's sake I am."
Hours past and they talked. Talked deep into the night before they realised it was dark. "I better be going, Harry. Unless the doors locked again." Hermione laughed. She walked across the room and opened the door. "Bye, Harry." She said before she disappeared.
"Bye," Harry said, dropping his head whilst saying so. He walked over to his desk and looked at the letter, he agreed with Hermione that they would reseal it and get an owl to deliver it to Ginny. Luckily, they kept the owl since he seemed too tired to travel. "Yes, Hermione. I recognise the writing of course I do. I see it every Potions lesson. It belongs to Draco Malfoy. Ginny has gotten help from the enemy."
