Chapter 2: chapter 2
“Ron! What are you doing here?” Hermione could feel tension building around her,
“Lav said she saw you come up here, I thought it was a bit strange since you didn’t take astronomy this year, so I came to see if you were okay…” Ron took a step closer to Hermione clenching his fists at the thought of her being alone with Malfoy.
“I’m fine Ronald, honestly, I was just leaving actually so if-“
“What are you doing up here with him?” Ron snapped at Hermione, glaring at Malfoy
Malfoy met Ron's gaze and took a step closer to Hermione as if secretly he was protecting her.
“it wasn’t Hermione's fault, I was here before she came up, she had no way of knowing I was here so don’t be too harsh on her,” he dropped his gaze “or whatever, its not like I really care.” He side stepped around Hermione keeping his eyes to the floor and left the tower.
“C’mon mione, it’s after 11, McGonagall will kill us if she finds us out of bed,”
“No Ronald, I don’t have to follow you everywhere! I have had enough of trailing after you I’ve had almost 7 years of it and I’m just fed up of you and your… your … ugh! “Hermione stomped past Ron slamming her shoulder into his knocking him off balance and sending him to the floor.
Hermione came storming round the corner,
“FELICIS!” she shouted at the fat lady but before she got the chance to make it through the portrait hole she trip over something and hit the ground,
“Ow… sorry Hermione, I forgot the password again, but everyone seemed to be inside…”
“oh Neville, every time we change it you forget it, what are we going to do with you?!” Hermione looked at his sad face, and caught his eye as he looked up,
“C’mon let’s get you inside,” she stood up, brushed herself off and held out a hand for Neville.
“Thanks Hermione, you’re a good friend, really you are,” he nervously took her hand, got up and walked through the portrait hole gazing at the back of her head.
Ginny was sitting on Hermione’s bed when she crashed into the girls dormitory,
“So miss granger, where have you been?” Ginny looked at her with a grin plastered on her face.
“Not now Ginny, honestly I think your brother has something wrong with him halve the time!” Hermione collapsed onto the bed next to Ginny, “he just doesn’t think before he speaks and he’s just so … urgh!”
“now Hermione don’t be too harsh on him… we all know he is a bit special but we should probably tell it to his face so he doesn’t feel left out on the gossip session …” Ginny started giggling to herself when she heard a tap on the window.
Hermione looked up to see Draco’s owl sitting on the window ledge, unwillingly she pulled herself up from the bed and unlocked the window, the bird gracefully flew in, circled the room once and landed on the dressing table next to Hermione's bed, dropped a letter and flew away out the window.
“Ooooh someone has an admirer!” Ginny jokingly nudged Hermione
“Oh shush Ginny, it’s only a letter it’s not like he’s in love with me, now go to bed before I get McGonagall!” Hermione looked at Ginny with a very stern face,
“Yes ma’am!” Ginny stood and saluted Hermione before skipping to the next bed.
Hermione had been lying in bed for almost an hour staring at the unopened letter on the dressing table; finally she reached over and grabbed it. Taking a look around the room to check if anyone was still awake she opened the letter with caution.
I’m sorry about earlier, I didn’t mean to be so harsh myself.
I hope you can forgive me, meet me in the room of requirement… just think of me and you’ll find the right room… tomorrow night, sun down.
