Chapter 13: Draco Malfoy's Girlfriend
The next day when I exited the common room, there was Draco waiting for me with a smile on his face. I smiled back.
"Well isn't this a nice surprise." I said as I wrapped my arms around the neck.
"I was hoping it would be." He said as he kissed me. "I thought about you all night." He whispered.
"I saw you in my dreams last night." I whispered back. He grinned and took my hand as we made our way to the Great Hall for breakfast.
After breakfast, I looked expectantly at Draco. "So what's the plan?" I asked.
"You'll see." He winked as he pulled me along. At first we just walked around, talking about our excitement for Christmas the next day.
At around noon I started getting hungry. "You want to go eat?" I asked.
"I sure do." He said. He started leading us in the opposite direction of the castle.
"Um the castle is that way, Draco." I said.
"I know love, just trust me." Draco said smiling. Finally we came to a spot near the lake. I gasped. There was a blanket laid out with a picnic basket and magic fire in a jar.
"You did this?" I asked.
"Yeah, Blaise helped a bit though."
"I love it!" I gushed.
"Then shall we?" He asked.
We sat down and he opened the picnic basket and started laying the food out. "Draco this honestly couldn't be more perfect." I said.
"Neither could you." He smiled. We drank hot chocolate as we ate our food. Talking like we never had before.
I never knew I could feel so comfortable around him. I found myself telling him about things I hadn't told anyone. After we were finished we packed everything up and just laid there on the blanket cuddled up together. I didn't feel cold one bit even though it was snowing.
"I told you I would do it." Draco said suddenly.
"Do what?" I asked.
"Get you to go out on a date with me." He said.
I laughed. "Yes you did tell me. I just didn't believe you. Did you think it would take this long?" I asked.
"Not at all. I thought I'd have you in a month. You're so damn stubborn though."
"I know." I said smirking.
"But like I said it would be, it's so worth it. This moment right now, it's perfect. You're perfect." He said quietly.
I kissed him. "You're kinda perfect too." I whispered.
"You think?" He asked.
"A little bit. But if you tell anyone I said that, I'll kick your ass." I said giggling.
"Oh you know I'm going to tell everyone." He joked. We laid there for awhile before getting into a huge snowball fight, in which I think I won because we ended it kissing and I was on top of him. That night I hung out with him and Blaise in the common room. Draco held my hand all night.
I loved that about him. He didn't care that his friend was around, he still acted like he liked me. Even more so to be honest. But he still hadn't claimed me as his girlfriend which I didn't really understands why. I mean he liked me, I liked him. We went on a date, we've kissed, we held hands. We're practically together just not officially.
I was surprised at how much I wanted him to make it official too. I mean a month ago I was flat out rejecting him and now I wanted to be his girlfriend. It was a big switch if you ask me.
Christmas the next day was nice. I got books from Hermione, sweets from Ron, a necklace to keep Nargles away from Luna, and more sweets from Harry. Mom got me a beautiful charm bracelet there was a letter telling me how proud she was of me and telling Kale to say hi.
I had completely forgotten to tell her I wasn't staying at Kale's. Oh well, what she doesn't know won't hurt her right? Christmas dinner was very nice and delicious and I went to bed happily.
The next week flew by. I spent practically every waking hour with Draco. Talking, laughing, kissing, it was great. Even when I was asleep I was with Draco because I couldn't stop dreaming of him. But still he hadn't made me his official girlfriend yet and it was killing me.
One night we were in the Slytherin common room. My head in Draco's lap reading the book Hermione got me as he gently (but absently) stroked my hair while reading some book on Quidditch.
"Draco?" I asked quietly.
"Yeah babe?" He asked looking away from his book. I sat up crossing my legs and facing him.
"Am I your girlfriend?" I asked.
"No." He said.
"Oh." I said, trying to not to sound too hurt. "Well that's all I wanted to know. I'm tired I think I'll be going now." I made to leave, but Draco grabbed my arm.
"Woah, Sloane, babe hold on a second okay?" He asked.
I sat back down. He took a deep breath before talking. "It's not like I don't want you to be my girlfriend." He started. "But right now, you're not my girlfriend. I haven't asked you out yet."
"Well what are you waiting for?" I asked.
"The right moment." Draco said.
"Can this be the right moment?" I questioned.
He smiled. "Yes it can." He dug in his pocket. "I was going to ask you later, but since you're so eager might as well do it now."
He handed me a velvet box. "Draco no." I said.
"Just take it." He said. "And open it."
I opened the box and was relieved to see just a little card reading.
Be my girlfriend?
I nodded. "Of course." I kissed him.
"There's more." He said. "Pick up the card."
I did as I was told and saw a beautiful charm underneath it. It was a heart with a 'D' engraved in it.
"I'm guessing 'D' stands for Draco?" I asked.
"Nah, it stands for 'denied' for all the times you denied me." He joked.
I laughed. "Put it on me?" I asked. After he had put the charm on my bracelet, I kissed him again.
"And now, I have finally made you mine." Draco said. "My mission is complete."
"No it isn't." I said. "You're next mission is to actually keep me around." I winked.
"I think that will be easier than my other mission." He said grinning. We stayed cuddled up on the couch doing everything we usuallly did. But things were different now, because I was now his girlfriend and he was my boyfriend.
In two days the rest of the students would return and everyone would know that I was now Draco Malfoy's girlfriend. Should be interesting...
