Chapter 5: The Art of Jealousy
Playing the game was beginning to get tiresome. I basically had to insert the word 'friend' into all my statements towards Ron. I wouldn't continue on with it if it wasn't working so well. Ron didn't at all like that I kept saying 'friend'. Sometimes he would ask what we would do together if we were more than friends. Things tended to get a little awkward when that happened, but the fact that he sometimes thought about us being more that friends excited me.
I just couldn't believe he might like me. The only thing that seemed to be standing in the way was that unpleasant Lavender Brown, she just kept popping up and ruining our wonderful moments. I really didn't like her.
"I really don't like her." I said to Padma as we ate lunch and I watched Lavender flirt with Ron. I could hear her giggling from across the room.
"Who, Lavender?" Padma asked following my glare.
"Yes." I said.
"Oh. She's my sister's best friend. I can't stand her either. She's just so...annoying." She said shaking her head.
"Yes, she is." I agreed. "I mean, what gives her the right to flirt with Ron like that? She's had five years, and now she wants to? That is so... inconvenient."
"Aww, sorry. But I don't think you should worry too much. Why would Ron want someone annoying and giggly like her when he can have someone was pretty and smart as you?" Padma gave me an encouraging smile.
I looked at her. "Thanks. But she's got the whole flirting thing down really good. I, on the other hand, can't flirt to save my life." I explained.
"Sure you can, anyone can flirt." She said.
"Not me." I said shaking my head. "Mia's tried to teach me loads of times, I'm hopeless."
"Well...you don't need to flirt. All you have to do is be yourself and he'll like you."
"That's what my sisters say."
"Well, they are very wise." Padma said.
"You know, maybe you and my sisters are...wrong!" I was now witnessing Lavender putting her hand over Ron's and him just smiling at her like he had no problem with that.
"What?" Padma asked looking over at them. "Oh."
"I really hate being jealous." I said quietly.
"Everyone does. And everyone has to deal with it." She said.
"Not everyone." I said looking over at Mia. Everything always came so easily for her. Looks, friends, guys. She never had anything to be jealous about. The thing is I can't even be mad at her or hate her, because she's so nice about it. She never goes around bragging about anything.
I can't even be mad that she got Malfoy to finally kiss her, and they were together. If you can even call it that since they both see other people. Either way, she got the guy she wanted, while mine was flirting with some other girl.
"I'm sure Mia gets jealous too." Padma said breaking my thoughts. "She's not perfect."
"No, but she's pretty darn close." I sighed.
"Don't worry about it, okay? Just focus on Ron and what you're going to wear to the Quidditch tryouts tomorrow." She said.
The next morning, I walked into the Great Hall nervously playing with my hair. That morning, Padma and Mia helped me with my hair and clothes. I had to admit I looked decent, Mia insisted that Ron wouldn't be able to take his eyes off of me.
I went over to the Gryffindor table after I managed to swallow some food.
"Hey, Ron." I smiled.
"Hey." He said smiling back. "Tia, you look...really nice."
I blushed. "Wow, thanks." I giggled. "I just came over to wish you luck for tryouts. I'll be in the stands cheering you on."
"Thanks, that'll make me feel really good." Ron said. "I should get going." He stood up.
"All right." I said. I went into hug him, but something came over me and I kissed him on the cheek.
We both turned red, and then he muttered "Thanks." And walked away.
Oh, what have I done?
Even from the stands I can see that Ron is nervous, but determined. He's the only one trying to listen to Harry, who is the Captain. Everyone else is talking loudly and messing around while Harry tries to get their attention.
"Hey! Shut it!" I hear Ginny yell. She really is bossy. Everyone stops talking, and then Harry explains what will happen. Ron looks up at the stands, and I wave. He gives me a sort of grimace.
I see Cormac McLaggen going over to talk to Ron, I don't know what he says to him, but I don't like that he's talking to Ron. Especially since he looked over at me and winked afterwards. I really thought he would take a hint when I tried to avoid him at all costs.
The trials started, but I wasn't paying too much attention. The trials for Keeper were the last, and Ron was the only reason I was here.
Padma and I just talked while trials went on. I looked around in the stands, and saw Lia and Hermione. Lia claims to everyone she's there to watch Dean, but everyone who knows about her crush knows she's really there to see Harry. She can't even stop looking at him.
I see Mia with Malfoy all the way at the top. Mia says she's here for moral support, why she had to bring Malfoy, I wasn't sure. But I had to admit they look so cute together. His arm is around her, and he's leaning close to her, probably saying sweet and funny things, because Mia keeps giggling and then kissing him, and when they run out of air, they start talking again, until they kiss again. It was just a routine I guess.
Finally, it's time for the trials for Keepers. The first five are horrible, and then all that is left is Cormac and Ron. Cormac goes first, and he's really good, he might beat Ron. He's already blocked four shots, I really don't want him to make it over Ron. So as the fifth shot comes towards him, I glance to make sure no one's watching, and I put my hand over my mouth.
"Confundus!" I whispered. I watch as Cormac went in the opposite direction of the shot, and the Quaffle goes through the hoop. Cormac looks confused and angry. I can't contain my smile.
"What was he thinking?" Padma asked. I just shrugged.
Now Ron was up. "Good luck, Ron!" A girly voice shouted. I turned to see Lavender giggling. I shot her annoyed look and then turned my attention back to Ron. Four shots already saved, the fifth one was coming. I looked to see if anyone was as nervous as I was.
Lia was looking at Harry admiringly. Mia and Malfoy look like they're trying to swallow eachother. Padma is looking at Ron, but doesn't look nervous.
Ron saves the shot. "Yes!" I shout, standing up and clapping. He did it! He's the new Keeper! I wait until after Harry is done giving details to run over to Ron.
"You were spectacular, Ron!" I exclaimed hugging him.
"Thanks." he said happily.
I looked over and saw Lavender leaving the pitch, glaring at me. I smiled. Look who's jealous now.
Damn, do I love getting my way, I thought as Draco and I kissed. It's only been a week since Draco kissed me for the first time, but it's felt like so much longer. We spend so much time together, kissing and laughing, and talking. I really connect with him, and we're both completely on the same page in our relationship.
Which is the page where we're together, but we still see other people. I must say, he is my favorite, and I spend most of my time with him. Draco is like my new Mason, except Mason never really saw other girls, but whatever.
"You are such a good kisser." Draco whispered.
"You're not so bad yourself, Malfoy." I said smirking.
"Damn, I love it when you call me Malfoy. Say it again." He said.
"Malfoy." I said seductively.
"Mmm, come here." He kissed me again, pressing me against the wall. After some time, I pushed him away gently.
"We'll need to stop soon if we're going to make it to our classes on time." I said.
"Oh, fuck classes." Draco said rolling his eyes. "This is all the learning I need."
"Well, I am a pretty good teacher." I said.
"The best one I've ever had." He said. "The sexiest one too."
"Mr. Malfoy, that's a very inappropriate thing to say to your teacher." I teased.
"Well, this will probably be a very inappropriate thing to do..."
Yet again, Draco's lips were pressed against mine. Draco's kisses were always hard, yet passionate, intense, but eager, slow, but purposeful. They made me dizzy, and always kept me coming back for more.
His hands were another thing. They moved slowly and knew exactly what they wanted and where they wanted to be. Which was usually up my skirt or in my shirt. Currently, they were in my shirt. His hands were always so warm.
I pulled away giggling. "That was very inappopriate."
"Don't pretend like you didn't like it." He smirked.
"Who said I was?" I asked.
Draco leaned in again, this time I turned away. That didn't stop him from pulling my already unbuttoned shirt off of my shoulders and start kissing up my neck.
"Oh no!" I moaned. It felt so good, but I really didn't want to miss class. "Draco stop!"
He pulled away pouting. "But it's so much fun."
"I know, but we need to stop." I said firmly.
Draco groaned. "Fine!"
"Oh come on, don't be upset. Look, babe, I promise, when classes are over, I'm all yours.
Draco smirked and looked at me surprised. "Did you just call me 'babe'?" He asked.
"No." I said giving him a strange look. Did I?
"Yeah, you did." He said.
"I did not!" I said laughing. There's no way I did.
"Oh yes, you did." He nodded.
"I don't know what you're talking about." I shrugged. Maybe I did.
"It's okay, I liked it." Draco said.
"I don't know how you can like what I never said." Oh, Merlin, I did call him 'babe'! I don't do that!
"Whatever, baby. Keep denying it, I know you said it." He said shrugging.
I smiled. "Did you just call me 'baby'?" I asked.
"I sure did." He said smiling back.
I looked down, still smiling. "I like that."
"Good." He kissed me again.
"We should staighten up." I said.
We straightened up our clothes and hair. I pulled my little compact mirror to make sure I looked presentable. I noticed the marks on my neck.
"Draco, do you always have to leave your mark?" I asked in mock exasperation.
"Hey, your weren't complaining when I was doing it." He smirked.
I made a face at him as I pulled my emergency silver scarf out of my bag and wrapped it around my neck.
"You look sexy in that scarf." Draco said looking me up and down.
"Why thank you." I said. "Walk me to class?" I asked sweetly.
"Of course, baby." He said grabbing my hand as we started walking.
There is something different between me and Draco. We act differently with eachother than we do with the other people we see. For instance, Draco doesn't hold any other girl's hand or talk to the girls the way he does with me. And I don't call other guys 'babe' or promise them anything. I just kiss them and when I'm bored, I leave.
I'm not sure why that is, but I kind of like it. Halfway to my class, we're stopped by Crabbe. Everytime I see him, I think of when Pansy, Daphne, and Natalie kissed him. He was so happy.
Crabbe gestures for Draco to talk to him. They whisper and make a lot of hand movements. Draco seems frustrated. He turns me.
"I'm sorry, Mia, but I can't walk you to class. I have something to attend to." He said.
"It's okay." I said.
"Okay. Remember, after classes, you're all mine." He said.
"I know." I said before he kissed me and walked off quickly.
I walked to class wondering what it was he always had to attend to.
On my way to my last class of the day, I was taking a short cut when I saw Draco at the end of a hall. I immediately smiled, happy I could get another kiss, but as I kept walking, I noticed he wasn't alone. He was kissing some brunette girl.
Something came over me. Jealousy. I wasn't sure why though. I mean,I know Draco sees other girls, but I just couldn't stop the jealousy racing through my veins at the moment. I had never been so jealous in my life. I wanted to rip the girl away from Draco and tell her to stay the hell away from him. But I didn't. I couldn't show him how jealous I was.
So I continued walking, like it was nothing, hoping I could get past them without being noticed. It didn't work.
"Oh, hey, Mia." Draco said guiltily. What did he feel guilty about?
"Hi." I said.
"Oooh, hi Mia!" The girl, who I now recognized as Hayley said. This girl was not the smartest snake in Slytherin, but she was pretty. "I love your scarf."
"Thanks." I said putting on a fake smile. I felt an urge to tell her why I was wearing it, but I refrained from it.
"Wh-um what are you doing over here?" Draco stammered.
"I was headed to Divination." I answered.
"Do you have the crazy lady or the horse man?" Hayley asked.
It took all of my will and strength not to roll my eyes at how stupid she sounded. "I have Firenze, the centaur. So, I should get going, cause he hates when I'm late. See you guys later." I quickly walked off.
"Bye Mia!" Hayley called after me. This time, I rolled my eyes.
I was not focused in Divination. I kept thinking of Draco and Hayley together, and I got jealous all over again. Then a thought came to me. Maybe Draco would be jealous if he saw or heard about me kissing someone else. No, it's wrong to make someone purposely jealous. But it would make me feel better. I was torn.
On my way to the common room, I saw a boy named Nolan Macy sitting on a bench, reading. He was the smartest guy in Slytherin. Everyone says he's nerdy, but I think he's kind of cute, in that brainy way. Maybe he could help me.
"Hi." I said sitting down next to him. He looked shocked. "I'm Mia."
"I-I, uh know who you are." He stuttered nervously. "Um, I'm Nolan."
"I know. You're the smartest guy in Slytherin. Since you're really smart, I was hoping you could help me."
"O-okay." He said.
"Well, I'm really jealous, but I know I have no right to be. But I still am. And I want to make the person that made me jealous even more jealous than I am, but I know it's wrong. What should I do?" I said quickly.
"Well, you can't help feeling jealous, it an emotion you can't control. But what you can control is you'll feel if you were to make this other person jealous. It's not good to get back at people, but if it helps the situation and makes you feel better, maybe you should do it." Nolan said, not looking at me the whole time.
I nodded. "It would make me feel better, and it might help the situation." I said.
"Okay, uh, good. Is there any other way I could help you?" He asked.
"As a matter of fact there is. You could kiss me."
Nolan turned very red, but finally looked me in the eye. "I-uh, I don't know about that. Girls say I'm not a very good kisser, I don't think I can live up to your standards."
"You can't be that bad." I smiled before leaning in and kissing him. It was so cute how he wasn't too sure what to do. He actually wasn't too bad, I had kissed worse.
After some time, I pulled away, and took my scarf off. Nolan's eyes widened. "Don't worry, it's the only thing I'm taking off." I assured him.
I kissed him again. Not too long after that, a few Slytherin guys who I knew to be Draco's friends walked by. They wolf whistled at us and I flipped them off.
After I was done kissing Nolan, I thanked him, and then headed to the common room. I saw my friends sitting our usual spot in the back corner. One one couch was Pansy, Daphne, and Blaise. In the arm chair, there was Natalie and her boyfriend, Steve Harper. In the other two arm chairs were Crabbe and Goyle, and on the other couch, Thoedore Nott was sitting on one side, and Draco was on the other. Between them was an empty spot.
"Hey guys." I said making my way to the empty spot.
"Where have you been?" Pansy asked.
"Around." I shrugged getting ready to sit down. But instead of sitting on the couch, I was pulled into someone's lap. I turned around to see Draco. "Well, hello there." I said.
"Hello yourself." He said. I turned sideways and placed my feet on the empty space. I wrapped my arm around his neck and stroked his soft hair.
Pansy raised her eyebrows at me. I knew what she was thinking. "Shut up." I mouthed.
Daphne laughed shaking her head at me. Blaise looked at all of us, "What are you girls doing?" He asked.
"Nothing." I answered.
"Me and Daphne aren't doing anything, but someone else is." Pansy said in a sing song voice.
I glared at her. "Hey." Draco whispered in my ear.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"I haven't kissed you in a while." He said.
"True, you haven't." I nodded.
"Well, I want to."
I fake sighed. "Well, if you want to..." I kissed him. We were met with shouts from our friends.
"Oh, come on!" Theodore exclaimed.
"Get a room!" Blaise groaned.
"Stop with all the affectionate shit!" Natalie said.
"Who's the one sharing a small armchair with her boyfriend?" I asked Natalie.
"Exactly, 'boyfriend', not 'boy toy'." She smirked.
I laughed, because I had to admit that was pretty funny. "I have to give you than one, Moon." I said.
"All right now, we all know Mia and Draco are together, but not together." Pansy said.
"But they are eachother's favorites, so they can show affection in public." Blaise finished.
"Thank you." I said as David Warrington came over to us.
"Move your feet, princess." He said to me. I rolled my eyes and moved my feet so he could sit down. Then I rested them in his lap.
"Are you kidding me?" He asked.
"Be lucky." I said. "This is as much as you're ever going to touch me."
"Oh, that's real cute." David said.
"Ooh, here comes Nerdy Nolan." Daphne said. I looked up, and saw Nolan coming towards us.
"He probably wants to do our homework." Theodore said, making the others laugh.
"Oh, stop it, guys. He's sweet." I said.
"You would know." David said, giving me a look showing he knew that I kissed Nolan. I gave him a look telling him to shut up.
"H-hey, Mia." Nolan said as he approached us.
"Hi Nolan." I said.
"You left your scarf on my lap earlier when I was helping you." He said handing it to me.
Daphne, Pansy, and Natalie's eyes and mouths widened as they looked at me, knowing exactly what was going on. Steve, David, Theodore, and Blaise were looking at Nolan with new found respect. And Draco tensed underneath me. He was jealous for sure.
"Oh, thanks." I said. "For returning my scarf, and the help."
"Any time. See you later."
"Bye." He walked off.
"Mia!" Pansy exclaimed. "He's a nerd!"
"I think he's kind of cute." I admitted.
"I think he's a lucky bastard." Steve said. Natalie slapped him. "What?" He asked.
I noticed Draco's silence through out the whole conversation.
An hour later everyone but me and Draco were headed up to bed. I had told my roommates I'd be up shortly. The common room was empty, except for us.
Draco kissed me immediately, wrapping his arms around me pushing me down. "I'm mad at you." He whispered. I couldn't tell with how he was kissing me.
"Why?" I asked.
"Because, you were supposed to be all mine after classes, and instead you snogged that nerd." He said.
"I know. But you were snogging that dumb bimbo Hayley." I replied. "I thought you'd be busy with her."
He shook his head, gently removing my hair out of my face. "I wouldn't choose her over you. You're much better."
I smiled. "Well, you're better than Nolan." I said.
"I can't believe I was jealous of some nerd." Draco said.
"I can't believe I was jealous of some bimbo." I said. I kissed Draco again, so happy I made him jealous.
"He's not a better kisser than me, is he?" Draco asked.
I shrugged. "You'll always have to wonder." I whispered.
He raised his eyebrows and leaned down. "You know what I really wonder?" He asked, tracing his fingers down my neck to the top button of my shirt. "What lies beneath this uniform?"
"I wonder the same thing about you." I said lustfully as I slid my hands up his shirt and ran them over his wonderfully sculpted stomache.
"Would you like to find out?" He asked.
"Oh yeah." I answered. A look of desire came over Draco's face as he kissed me passionately, and unbuttoned my shirt quickly. "Just not tonight." I whispered.
"You're such a tease, Rosaria." He said in my ear.
I smirked. "I love it when you call me Rosaria. Say it again."
"Rosaria." He kissed my neck, and I closed my eyes, and let out a soft moan of satisfaction. Draco kissed me on the lips hungrily, his hands moving much faster than usual to touch me.
A few minutes later, I heard footsteps. I pulled away from Draco. "Somebody is coming!" I whispered.
"What do I do?" He asked.
"I don't know!"
"Mia, are you still down here?" Pansy's voice asked. I somehow got Draco to get off me enough to sit up.
"Yeah." I said. "Just thinking. I'll be up in a few."
"You're down here alone?" She asked.
"Yep." I answered.
"Oh. So, I bet Nolan was a much better kisser than Draco, huh? Draco's technique is sloppy."
"It is not!" Draco exclaimed, sitting up.
"Alone, huh?" She smirked.
I shrugged. "I may have forgotten he was here."
"Whatever." Pansy said. "Just don't have too much fun. People sit on that couch, you know."
"No promises." I said pulling Draco down on top of me again.
I never before appreciated the beauty of jealousy.
Mia and Hermione are geniuses. This whole 'giving Harry good advice about his relationship while also making him jealous with Dean' thing was working really well. And Dean was really nice and cool to talk to. I felt kinda bad for using him when he really likes me, but I wanted Harry so bad I was willing to do all of this.
"Hey, Lia!" A voice behind me called. It was Dean.
"Hey, what's up?" I asked smiling.
"I'm on the team!" He exclaimed.
"What?!" I asked.
"Since Katie is still in the Hospital, I'm on the team now!" Dean said grinning broadly.
"That's amazing!" I exclaimed as he hugged me tightly and picked me. "Wow, I'm so happy for you."
"I just couldn't wait to tell you."
"Wait, am I the first to find out about this?" I asked.
"Yeah!" He said.
"Well, let's go tell everyone else!" I said pulling him to the common room. As Dean told everyone the news, I went over to talk to Harry.
"Hey, I heard Dean is on the team now." I said sitting next to him.
"Yeah, he was the best I could get at such short notice." Harry said not sounding too happy about it.
"I think you guys will do great against Slytherin. You put together a great team." I said.
"Thanks. I just hope Ron's nerves don't get in the way." He said.
"Oh, yeah, Tia told me he's been kind of nervous about the game." I said.
"He plays better when she's there, you know. He finds some kind of comfort and confidence in her. I might start asking her to come more often." He joked.
I chuckled. "She probably wouldn't mind too much. She likes...watching Quidditch." Whew, almost slipped and told him that Tia likes Ron. I feel way to comfortable around Harry. I feel like I can tell him anything. Sometimes I even want to tell him I like him.
"I can tell." He said. "Tia is really shy, huh?"
"Yeah. But once you really get to know her, she's much more out going."
Harry shook his head. "You three are so different from eachother. It's crazy."
"Yeah, it is, but I'm used to it. Even our looks are kinda different." I said.
"You're definitely the prettiest." He said. "I mean-well, yeah. You're the prettiest."
"Thanks, that's really sweet." I said putting my hand on his shoulder. "You're a really good friend, Harry."
"I guess that's all I'll ever be, huh?" He shrugged sadly.
I just stared at him. "What do you mean?" I asked.
"I mean that I lik-"
"Harry, I've been looking for you everywhere!" Ginny exclaimed. "We really need to go over the plays since we added Dean." She noticed my hand on his shoulder, I quickly moved it. "Unless you're busy." She gave me a dirty look.
"I was just telling Harry how wonderful it is that he put Dean on the team." I said. "I'll let you guys go over plays. Later, Harry." I walked away quickly.
A few minutes later, I looked over, hoping they'd be fighting, but they were kissing fiercely. I sighed. I was a hopeless jealous mess.
"Harry, don't lie to me!" Ginny yelled.
"I'm not! Why are you being so paranoid and jealous?!" Harry shouted.
It was a few days later, and I had went back to the common room before going to dinner, because I left my sweater and I was cold. This is what I walked in on.
"Because you are always with her! And I see the way she looks at you. She wants you! She's trying to break us up!" She said.
"No, Lia is not! She's trying to keep us together! She gives me advice on how to deal with you." He shook his head.
"Deal with me?! What's that supposed to mean?!"
"I mean, this. We're always fighting. She helps me deal with it." Harry explains angrily. I know I should leave, but I'm stuck in my spot.
"Harry, you're so näive!" She laughed derisively. "It's just a trick, she's making you think she actually wants things to work out between us. She doesn't."
"You're just jealous and threatened by her! Just because I can actually have a conversation with her. All you ever do is complain about me doing something wrong!" Harry said.
Ginny scoffed. "You're damn right I'm jealous and threatened. I know Rosaria is trying to come between us. And you're letting her."
"No, I'm not."
I should leave, I really should. I can't believe they're fighting because of me. I'm getting ready to leave.
"Yes, you are! You like her, don't you?!" She demanded.
Maybe I should stay. I need to hear this.
"No, I don't!" Harry shouted. My heart sank. "I don't, okay?! Lia means nothing to me! I don't care about her, I care about you! She is nothing! And if you want me to stop talking to her, I will!"
Tears sting the back of my eyes. Not only did Harry not like me as more than a friend, but I meant nothing to him. He would stop talking to me if she asked him to. I can't believe how wrong I was about him.
Harry turned in frustration, probably to leave, and saw me. A look of shock and regret came across his face. "Lia..."
I shook my head and ran out of the common room, crying. I ran into Dean. "Lia, what's wrong?" He asked.
But I just kept running. I finally stopped because I could no longer breathe. A few moments later Dean ran up to me, he had followed me. "Lia, are you okay?" He asked breathing heavily.
"No!" I cried honestly.
He hugged me tightly and stroked my head gently. "Tell me what's wrong." He whispered.
I easily found myself telling Dean about what happened. I did have to lie a little of course. Like I told him I was upset because I thought Harry was my friend and that I felt bad that Ginny thought I was trying to break them up. Dean was really sweet about everything, and he just listened to me.
He held me the whole time, making me feel so safe and secure. My sisters showed up shortly, both of them crying just like I was. Looks like they channeled my sadness.
"There you are." Mia said wiping her eyes. "W-we've been looking ev-everywhere for you."
"Oh, no, what's wrong with you two?" Dean asked.
"Nothing, we're fine!" Tia cried.
"You don't seem fine." Dean pointed out.
"They are, it's just they're feeling what I'm feeling." I said.
"Oh." He said.
"Thanks so much for comforting Lia, but we'll take it from here." Mia said.
"Any time. I'll see you later, Lia." Dean kissed my cheek, and then walked away.
"Now, what happened?" Mia asked.
I told them everything, and I started crying again, which made them start crying too, it was quite emotional.
"I know exactly how you feel." Tia said. "I'm really jealous of Ron hanging out with Lavender."
"Earlier in the week I got really jealous when I saw Draco kissing another girl." Mia added in. "I was ready to explode."
"You were jealous?!" Tia asked surprised.
"Yeah." Mia answered. "All I could think about was Draco and Hayley together and it just made me jealous all over again." Tia looked at her, smiling strangely.
"This is different than just being jealous." I said. "Harry said I meant nothing to him. I thought he really liked me."
"Look, I'm sure Harry just said that in the heat of the moment." Mia said.
"Yeah, he probably never thought you'd even find out he said it." Tia agreed.
"But he sounded so serious, like he really meant it."
"He was just trying to keep Ginny off his back." Tia assured me.
"And if he did mean it, then fuck him. You're too good for him anyways, you don't need someone like him making you feel bad about yourself." Mia said.
"Yeah." Tia said. "Dean seems really nice."
"He is." I said smiling slightly. "He made me feel so safe."
"Well, feel safe with him and forget about Harry. He's not worth it." Mia shrugged.
I shrugged too. "Maybe you're right. I mean, it's at least worth a try."
"It is." Tia said smiling.
"Yeah." I said. "And who knows, maybe Harry will realize what he's missing, and it'll be his turn to be jealous."
Jealousy. It's a person's best friend and their worst enemy...
