Summary:

Beautiful Banner made by hello sweetie at TDA!! :)

Unprepared.

That was exactly the word that described my feelings.
My life had always been so simple, I knew who my friends were and I knew who my enemies were. I was not, however, prepared for my enemy to become... Something much different.

Rose/ Scorpius... Providing they don't kill each other first...

Chapter 8: Dance Now, Think Later
[View Online]

Chapter Eight

“Rose!” Ryan and Dom's voice squealed from behind me as two sets of arms dragged me away from the group I was talking to.
Laughing, I called over my shoulder, “Bye, guys!” before turning to face my very hyper best friends.
“This party is amazing!” Dom shrieked, barely audible over the music.
“Not as amazing as you look!” I yelled back.
It was the truth, both girls looked stunning. Ryan's olive skin practically shone under her yellow dress. It was a seriously cute dress; butter yellow and tight around the top before flaring out under a thick, slate grey ribbon below the bust. Dom had obviously straightened Ryan's hair because it hung it a perfect brown sheet to her waist. And Dom, well, Dom's Veela ancestry was plainly showing. Her hair was piled on top of her held messily, and held back with a silver headband. Her dress was white and looked like something a Greek goddess would wear, boys were practically drooling as she pulled me toward the dance floor.
“You can compliment us later, let's dance!” Ryan yelled.

Just like the night at the club I was lost in the music. I barely registered the boys I danced with, only coming out of my trance once, when a very drunk Ben Davies started snogging me. I kissed him back for a bit but got bored and pushed him off him. Sighing happily, I started dancing again. The music was intoxicating, a loud, blaring mix of wizard music and Muggle club music. It was awesome, but even I had my limits. Looking around me, I quickly located Ryan and Dom and pulled them away from the boys they were dancing with.
“Drinks!” I shouted and forced my way through the crowd towards the make-shift bar.
Pouring three shots of Fire Whiskey, I handed one each to Ry and Dom and we all downed the in an instant.
“Refill?” I asked, shaking the bottle at them.
They both grinned and held out their glasses We all downed another shot, and I put the bottle back on the table before picking up a bottle of vodka.
“Come on, let's go to the V.I.P. section!” I said happily, feeling the alcohol rush through me.

We made our way to the roped off section of the room to find Al, Rowan and Malfoy sitting on the couches. Dom flopped down in a beanbag while Ryan sat down on the couch Albus was sitting.
“This is only supposed to be for my friends, Malfoy. So get the hell out.” I glared at him as I plopped down in an armchair.
“I'd rather not.” He replied. “I'm quite comfy.”
“Get the f-” I was cut off by my cousin.
“Okay! Enough of that!” He said, then got an evil look in his eyes. “Who wants to play Truth Or Dare?”
“I'm in.” I said, pulling the lid of the bottle of vodka and taking a swig before handing it to Ryan. I loved Truth Or Dare.
“Sounds great.” She announced, taking a huge gulp from the bottle.
“Okay. Rules first. No backing out of a dare. Ever.” Albus declared, looking around at the group.
“We know Al!” I cried. The rules, or should I say rule, was the same every time we played. “Now who wants to go first?”
“I will.” Rowan volunteered.
“Truth or dare?” I asked.
“Dare, of course.” He said, looking confident. Rowan was totally fearless when it came to this game, he'd done everything from running around the Great Hall in his boxers to snogging random girls off the street.
“Go snog Alexandria.” It wasn't a hard dare, but I knew Alexandria had been in love with Rowan for forever. This was my present to her.
“You could have a least given me a hard one.” He complained as he got up.
We all watched at he strode up to Alexandria spun her around, and started viciously snogging her. We all burst out laughing at the faces of her friends as they watched jealously.
“Dom, truth or dare?” Ryan asked as she passed the bottle to Al.
“Dare!” She grinned widely, and leaned forward in anticipation.
“Give Ro a lap dance when he sits down.” She smirked at Dom, as Albus, Scorpius and I burst out laughing.
Dom rubbed he hands together evilly. “This'll be fun.”
We turned our attention back to Rowan who was still kissing Alexandria. Finally, he broke away from her, patted her on the head and sauntered back to us.
“What'd I miss?” He said, sitting down.
We all looked at Dom expectantly who got up and started giving Rowan a lap dance. We all howled with laughter at Rowan's surprised face, but he caught on fast.
“Always knew you wanted me, Weasley.” He smirked.
“Only in your dreams, Finnigan.” Dominique quipped as she got off his lap.
“And what good dreams they are.” He winked at her and she rolled her eyes.
Choking back laughter I turned to Al, “Albus, truth or dare?” I asked though I already knew the answer.
“Truth is for the weak. Dare.” He retorted.
“Okay then.” I grinned evilly. “Kiss Ryan.”
Ryan groaned. “Rose!” She eyed me, annoyed. 'Make it less obvious?' she seemed to say.
He grinned back wildly at me. “No problem.” He said before he grabbed Ryan's waist and pulled her close to him. He smiled down at her before pressing his lips to hers. She seemed to melt into him and they began kissing fervently.
“How long do you think it'll be before they get together?” Dom asked me, not even bothering to lower her voice.
“A while,” I sighed, “those two'll be in denial about their feelings for a while, I think.”
Finally the couple broke apart, Ryan looked ecstatic, Albus mischievous.
“Scorp,” he remarked innocently , “I think it's your turn.”
“Dare.” Scorpius replied, somewhat warily.
“Snog Rose.” Albus said smugly.
A hiss escaped my throat as I whipped around to glare at my cousin murderously. He did not. I noticed out of the corner of my eye Dom and Malfoy locking eyes, as if they were worried about something. But they looked away so quickly, I must have imagined it.
“Come on!” Ryan whined. “It's not like you never have before!”
“Fine.” Malfoy's eyes narrowed as he got up from his seat.
“Stay away from me.” I warned, pressing myself as far into my chair as I could.
“It's not like I have much of a choice.” He growled, before swooping down to brush his lips quickly over mine. My mind went blank for a moment as that tiny kiss sent electric shivers down my spine. Scorpius sat back down on the empty couch, and I turned back to my friends.
“Happy?” Malfoy growled.
'Merlin, that kiss was amazing. No, Rose, hate, you're supposed to hate him.' I thought, before refocusing on the conversation around me.
“No way.” Albus exclaimed. “I said snog, that was barely a kiss.”
“There is no way that's happening.” I snapped.
“Come on, Rosie, he did say that!” Ryan protesting, “And you're not allowed to back out.”
An idea bubbled in my mind. “Fine then.” I snarled. “But it I have to kiss him, you have to snog Al again, and Dom, you have to kiss.... Someone.” I finished, looking around for someone, but no such luck. Who hadn't she kissed?
Ryan flushed deep red, but Dom nodded happily. “Deal.” She turned to Rowan. “Ro, I don't feel like going to find somebody. Care to be my someone?” She asked in that seductive way of hers.
“Knew you wanted me.” He chuckled. “Let's act out some of those dreams.”
She burst out laughing but went over and sat on his lap.
“Well, go on, Rosie.” Albus said, gesturing to Scorpius who seemed was lounging on the couch, looking amused.
“You first.” I shot back.
“No way, I want to kiss Ryan, you don't wanna kiss Scorp. So you have to go first.” He processed what he just said, “I-I mean... Oh, just kiss him!” He cried.
“You want to kiss me?” Ryan squeaked, looking excited.
“I... Uh, yeah.” He smiled down at her embarrassed for a moment, before turning his eyes back to me.
“Go on.” He said, nodding to Malfoy.
“Fine.” I hissed through my teeth.
I walked over to stand in front of Scorpius, and he smirked up at me arrogantly.
“Yes?” He asked, barely concealing a laugh.
“Oh, shut up.” I snapped, as I sank down onto his lap so I was straddling his hips.
I turned my head to look at my cousin and Ryan to see if they was still watching me. They were. Damn.
“I'm waiting.” Scorpius said cockily, as I turned my attention back to him.
“You disgust me.” I said, before slamming my lips onto his.
If a kiss could be angry or hateful, this would be it. I pressed my lips to his as hard as I could, and he kissed me back just as hard. The way our lips moved against each other was almost like they were fighting each other. It was almost painful kiss, but soon the same feeling of electric bliss washed over me. I could feel my body shaping itself against his, though I tried to stop it. Feel my lips shaping themselves to his in an irresistible way. Electric tingles shot through my spine, rocketing all over my body. I twisted my fingers into his hair, and felt his hands wrap around my waist, pulling me closer. I felt his tongue against my bottom lip, wanting to deepen the kiss. I opened my mouth gratefully and a sigh escaped my throat as his tongue began to explore my mouth.

“Holy shit, it's like a fucking orgy in here!” A voice sounded behind, and I was brought back to reality. Tearing my lips for Scorpius' and whipping off of him, I turned around to see my surprised looking cousin, Fred.
I looked at my friends on the couch, who were all still kissing. I sighed and turned to Fred, whose hair matched his face. “Group dare, I got dared to kiss him,” I gestured behind me at Scorpius, “so I dared them to kiss each other.”
Fred burst out laughing and nodded. “Fun.” He laughed, and began to walk away.
“Not at all.” I replied at his retreating figure.
“Wasn't exactly a picnic for me either, Weasley.” Malfoy sneered.
“Merlin, where's the vodka? I'm not drunk enough for this.” I cried as I snatched the almost empty bottle on the table and chugged the rest of its contents.
Rowan and Dom finally detached themselves from each other.
“Hm.” Dom said, looking up at Rowan. “Maybe we will have to do those dreams.”
Rowan laughed, and replied, “Fine with me.” He pulled her head back to his and they started snogging ferociously again.
“Oh Merlin, I've created a monster.” I groaned.
Scorpius laughed and got up from the couch.
“Don't you dare leave me alone with these people, Malfoy.” I snarled, surrounded by my snogging cousins? No, thank you, I'd rather deal with Malfoy.
“No way in hell I staying here. I'm going to the dance floor.” He said, then looked at me as if he was studying me.
Finally, he said, “Even you're better than this lot right now, care to join?” He offered me his arm.
I glanced at him, then around at my cousins. “Fine.” I grumbled, getting up. “But don't think I'm taking your arm.” I snapped, as I stormed past him. He chuckled behind me.

The music was pounding, and people were dancing in a huge mob in the centre of the dance floor. I sneaked a look at the clock; it was after twelve. Time flies when you're snogging your enemy, I guess.
I glanced over at Malfoy as we approached the crowd of moving people, he glared back at me and began pushing his way to the middle of the crowd. Not having any better options, I grudgingly followed him. The centre of the mob was packed with people moving fast to the beat of the music. I raised my arms above my head and started to move to the music, while Malfoy started dancing beside me.
We weren't dancing together, I told myself, just beside each other.
That changed quickly when someone behind me slammed into me and sent me stumbling forward, right into Scorpius' arms. He smirked as he caught me, and wrapped his hands around my hips, pulling me closer.
“Care to dance?” He whispered in my ear, which, to my extreme confusion, set shivers down my spine.
I didn't answer, but moved my hips against his. It was extraordinary the way we just seemed to fit together, our bodies molding together. The music captured us both for a while, and we continued dancing together, both of us lost in the music, moving in perfect sync with each other. The song ended then, changing to a slow song. I grimaced as I looked up at Scorpius and our eyes locked. Memories from the night at the club, and the night in this room flooded back into my head as I stared into his grey eyes. He seemed to be thinking of the same things, and we stood there, frozen, in the middle of the dance floor for a moment. I could barely control the urge to reach out and kiss him like I had the other nights.
Then the moment broke when someone bumped into us, and we looked away from each other, our eyes narrowing. I remembered I hated him, and pushed away, looking for a familiar face in the crowd. Ben Davies caught my eye, and I left Scorpius, sauntering my way over to Ben.
He grinned drunkenly at me, and wrapped his hands around my hips. I slithered my body against his, and moved with him to the music, but it wasn't the same. Frustrated, I pulled his head down to mine, and began snogging his furiously, trying to get the same spark that had been there with Scorpius.

But nothing was there. I opened my mouth in let Ben in, but I didn't feel anything as his tongue moved in my mouth. Just like every other boy I kissed at parties or dances, I didn't feel a thing. What the hell was wrong with me?! Angry, I shoved Ben off me and stormed off the dance floor.
“Ben Davies? Really?” A terribly familiar voice sneered from behind me.
“Why the fuck do you care?” I shouted over the music, whipping around to face him. “What does it have to do with you?”
“Nothing, absolutely nothing.” He scoffed, crossing his arms. “But really, Ben Davies? Even you could do better!”
I shrieked wordlessly, and turned around to walk away.
“So why'd you snog him anyway?” He asked nonchalantly, as he caught up with me.
I kept walking fiercely towards the roped of section, glad to find it empty of my snogging friends and cousins.
“Maybe I was trying to get the taste of you out of my mouth!” I shot at him, sinking down into an armchair.
“Please,” he rolled his eyes at me and stood in front of my arm chair, “you love kissing me.”
“You wish.” I huffed, crossing my arms at the truth of the matter.
“You know you kiss me an awful lot for someone who hates me.” He smirked, raising an eyebrow.
“It's not like I had much of a choice!” I cried angrily.
“But back there on the dance floor,” he nodded toward the dancing crowd. “you wanted to kiss me then too, I could tell.” He crossed him arms in front of his chest, smugly. “I knew you fancied me.”
“I do not fancy you!” I shrieked.
“Then why are you getting so worked up over me?” He asked.
My mouth fell open, he knew he had caught me. He grabbed my hand, and pulled my frozen form up. A billion thoughts were flashing through my mind, did I fancy him? How could I fancy him? This was Malfoy, the bane of my existence? I had wanted to kiss him on the dance floor, hadn't I? Oh shit, I did fancy him. No! How could I fancy him? I could never do anything about it! Never let him know. That's what I'd do, just keep ignoring him until the end of the year. Shit, it was only the first week of September.
He smirked at my expression, I'm sure it was one of great distress, and pulled me closer to him.
“Come on, Rose.” He said, his lips running over my jawline. “Just say it.”
“No.” I said, but I was trembling like a leaf.
“I know you do.” He ran his hands down my back, pressing my hips into him.
“I do not.” I hissed, but it was half hearted.
“You do.” He insisted, his lips now gliding over my neck and down my collar bone.
“No.” I said, in a voice as small as a mouse's.
“Then stop me.” He whispered, his lips an inch from my ear. “If you hate me so much, stop me.”
I didn't move a muscle, I stood frozen, trying to figure out what the hell to say.
“Knew it.” He chuckled, and pressed his lips to mine.
Shock ran through me, I hadn't actually expected him to kiss me, just to tease me, then walk away. I was unprepared for it, and melted into him. I stood frozen for another moment, before I wound my arms around his neck, clutching him closer. My lips moved against his in that electric way, and one hand of his hands slid down to my waist while the other tangled in my hair. I gasped and pulled away, realization washing over me.
“You fancy me too.” I said.
He pursed his lips, looking hesitant and wary but I knew what the answer was.
“Oh.” was all I could think of to say.
He cleared his throat somewhat nervously, and I realized I was still molded to him. I took a step away from him.
“I-I need to go now.” I stammered, taking another step backwards.
“Rose.” He said, somewhat pleadingly.
But I took of running as fast as I could in my heels, fighting my way through throngs of people.
I didn't know why I was running but I couldn't stop myself, what the hell had just happened?! What the heck was going to happen next? I couldn't date a Malfoy! I couldn't even imagine us together, holding hands in the hallway and doing couple things. Picturing us together was just wrong.. We were just so different! What had I gotten myself into?
I groaned loudly as I finally made it out of the stuffy, hot room and arrived in the hallway.
There was one thing I couldn't deny any more, whether I liked it or not; I fancied Scorpius.
Fuck.
