Chapter 1: Forever Yours
Great Chapter Image by littlemissy @ TDA
The wind hit my face like knives, stinging my pale skin. Sometimes I wonder whether or not it was such a good idea to have this event on the beach. I could hardly see where I was going, but I had my father's hand to guide me along the way. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw him look over at me, tears springing to his eyes, a sad smile placed on his face. I squeezed his hand to let him know that it was all going to be ok, to tell him not to worry.
"Hey there, beautiful," came the deep voice I loved. I turned my eyes away from my essay and looked up into Harry's deep green one's, half hidden behind his glasses.
"Hey, handsome," I said, smirking as he sat down next to me. "You know I have to finish this, right?"
"I know," said Harry, "I just thought I'd keep you company while you did so."
I rolled my eyes with a smile and Harry put his head on his hand, making him look cuter then ever. It was getting harder to concentrate on my work with Harry sitting next to me. The sound of Harry humming caught my attention. I looked up over at him and was surprised to see him staring straight at me, a goofy grin on his face.
"Can I help you?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Just living and breathing is helping me enough," answered Harry, placing a hand on my cheek as a blush heated my face.
"You can be so cheesy," I said, rolling my eyes and wrapping my arms around his neck. "But I kind of like it."
Harry grinned at me and slid his arms around my waist, then pressing his lips softly against mine, my hands travelling up into his soft, messy black hair. We just sat there for about an hour, kissing each other deeply. It was pure bliss.
"Are you alright?" my father asked, his eyes showing concern for me. I didn't answer for a second, but instead kept my eyes forward, not wanting to show just how much emotion I was feeling at the moment.
"Of course I am," I said quietly, clutching my dress tighter around me for closure from the harsh winds. I didn't want anyone to know how I felt, how hard my heart was beating.
"Harry," I breathed, "Harry, people are going to wonder where we are."
"Let them wonder," muttered Harry, his lips kissing my neck.
We were locked in a broom closet that hadn't been touched for years. We had been planning to go to the Great Hall for lunch, but decided we had...better things to do then eat.
My hands were lost in Harry's hair, tugging on it ever so slightly, my back against the wall. I let out a small moan as he sucked on my neck, sending shivers down my spine. I felt his lips inching closer to mine, going along my jawline and my cheek, going way too slowly. I eagerly kissed his lips, my tongue slipping into his mouth and swirling around his. My hands then slid inside his shirt and traced his hard Seeker muscles. I smiled as I heard Harry groan from the back of his throat.
"You drive me insane, Weasley," he whispered against my mouth.
"All part of the plan," I smirked back.
I looked around me to see my whole family and friends looking right at me. All of them had tears in their eyes, small smiles on their faces as if they were telling me they'd be there for me through the whole journey. I smiled back at them gratefully, taking in a deep breath as I looked back down at the aisle, where Harry was waiting for me.
"Gin?" came a voice behind me. The one I loved so much, but, at that moment, didn't want to hear.
"Harry, please just leave me alone," I said, my voice coming out as a beg.
I lay there for a second, with only the sound of the Black Lake filling my ears. A few minutes later I heard footsteps walking towards me, and a second later Harry was lying next to me.
We didn't speak for a while, but instead stared up at the sky, which was slowly becoming darker, stars popping out and becoming our only source of light.
"I'm sorry," said Harry quietly. I sighed and turned my head to face him, hating how his green eyes lit up so brightly at night, making me get lost in them. But I also saw the fresh scars on his face, reminding me of the war where I had lost so many dear to me. Lupin, Tonks, Fred...
"For what?" I asked my voice just as quiet. "Harry, it's not your fault, none of this is."
"But so many people are dead because they were trying to save me," said Harry, and I saw tears spring to his eyes which seemed so sad and lonely.
"Harry, the thing is that they were likely to die anyway," I said, taking his hand and squeezing it. "This was a war; people were going to die. And some of them died just because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time, not because of you."
"But the death eater's were only here because of me," whispered Harry, a tear now sliding down his cheek.
"They were going to come to Hogwarts eventually," I assured him, "It was better sooner then later."
Harry took in a shaky breath and closed his eyes, allowing a few more tears to fall. I lifted a hand to wipe them away with my thumb. I heart him sigh contently at my touch, leaning in a little more to my hand.
"Everything's going to be alright," I whispered. Harry opened his eyes and put a hand on the one that was on his cheek, his fingertips stroking my fingers.
"I'm sorry about Fred," he whispered, and now it was my turn to cry.
The pain of losing your brother, especially one who was so close to you, is heart wrenching. I had wanted to scream when I saw his body, a smile etched forever on his face. He had looked so happy and peaceful, yet his death probably hadn't.
I suddenly realised that I was in Harry's, sobbing into his shoulder. He was stroking my hair and whispering soothing words in my ear. I curled closer to him, wanting to feel the warmth from his body go to mine.
"I missed you so much," I whispered, practically clawing onto his back as I held him close.
"I missed you too, Gin," Harry whispered into my ear. "You have no idea how much. You were all I thought of the entire time."
"You did?" I whispered, "I thought of you the whole time as well."
We both moved her heads so that they were an inch apart, looking deep into each other’s eyes.
"I love you," Harry whispered softly, my heart beating faster at those three words.
"I love you too," I whispered, and a second later our lips met. It was a passionate kiss, if slightly desperate. My hands were already in his hair, running through it as his hands went up and down my sides. I felt happy for what felt like the first time in months.
I looked over Hermione, who was standing by my side, tears in her eyes as well. One ran down her face, and I saw Ron lean over and squeeze her hand. He was standing on the other side of Harry, his best friend. I looked over at Ron, who nodded over at me, and then my eyes fell on Harry.
I was lying with Harry's arm around me, my head resting on his bare chest. His hand was stroking my arm, looking down at me with those bright green eyes that I loved so much. I felt so content, like nothing could ruin this moment. I wanted to stay here forever, lying in Harry's arms under the covers of my bed.
Making love to Harry had been better then I had ever imagined. We had connected in such a way that it sent shivers through my spine just thinking about it. It had been a month since the Wizarding War had ended, and Harry and I had been pretty much inseparable. I had to stay at the Burrow this summer while deciding whether or not I wanted to go back to Hogwarts when it was finished rebuilding.
Ron had moved out two weeks after the war, moving in a flat with Hermione. The two of them seemed to be getting along really well. Harry, who now didn't have anywhere to stay, had taken Ron's room, though left it as Ron had left it, saying that it wasn't really his room, just somewhere to stay until he found somewhere else to live.
The only problem with Harry staying in the same house as me and my parents was that we had to restrain from snogging every time we saw each other, though that didn't mean that we didn't, just away from my parents eyes.
But the perfect opportunity had come along when my parents went out for two hours to visit George and see how he was doing. This meant that me and Harry had the whole house to ourselves, which was perfect.
I had walked into 'Ron's' room to tell Harry that my parents were gone, when he had caught me off guard with a head spinning kiss. Seconds later were taking each other's clothes off, then walking over to the bed to be as close as we could to each other. I think I knew from that moment that I would only ever love Harry Potter.
Everyone seemed to have their eyes on me as I stared over at Harry. I swallowed to try and control my tears, not wanting to cry in front of everyone. My heart was beating hard against my chest, my hands holding on so tightly to the flowers in my hand that they had turned white. My eyes stayed firm on Harry, lying in his coffin. And even though he couldn't hear me, I still walked over, lay down the lilies on his coffin and whispered,
"'ll love you forever, no matter where you go. I'll love you forever, no matter what you say or do. I'll love you forever, no matter how hard it is. I'll love you forever, no matter how many times I've had to say goodbye. I'll love you forever, Harry Potter."
