Hey! I didn’t let you in…” Hermione heard Ginny yelling early in the morning waking her up from another sleepless night. What’s going on? Hermione thought throwing the covers off. “Ron, get out of my apartment! What if Hermione…Hermione!” Ginny screamed once she saw Hermione enter the room. “What’s going on here?” Harry said seeing Ron and then Hermione in the same room. “I’m not here for Hermione.” Ron said ignoring his sister who was trying to push him out the door. “Then why are you here then…other than to piss me off more than I already am.” Ginny said. “I’m here to talk to you and Harry.” “About what?” “About the reunion.” “What about it?” “Ginny…” “Let him talk Gin.” Harry said. “Thanks…” Ron said to Harry. “But what about Hermione?” Ginny asked. “It was her idea for me to talk to you guys.” Ron said. “I’ll explain everything to you later. Right now you guys need to listen to what he has to say.” Hermione said starting to head back to her room tired “So are you two good then?” Ginny asked causing her to turn back around. “No…” Hermione said seeing Ron’s smile drop. “…but it’s a good start.” “Well…what do you have to say for yourself Ronald?”was the last thing Hermione heard from Ginny before she shut the door to her room. Getting in bed and closing her eyes, all she could see was a certain head of bleach blonde hair and silver eyes staring at her. Hermione take my hand… Ok maybe sleeping wasn’t a great idea… Hermione thought leaning against the edge of her bed. I can’t believe Ron actually took my advice… In all honesty, seeing Ron twice in a span of two weeks was almost too much for her to handle. But she was happy to see Ron willing to make up with Ginny and Harry. She was also happy that Ron was so willing to try to rebuild his friendship with her. Yea, they had a lot of work to do and they both knew that they would never have the same friendship they had before, but Hermione wasn’t lying when she said that it was a good start. One day she could see her and Ron being friends again. One day maybe she could even see herself trying to be friends again with Lavender Brown…but that was getting a little too ahead of herself. What would have happened if I never came back…? Hermione thought to herself. If she never had come back Hermione would have never had the chance to start rebuilding her friendship with him. Honestly, if she never came back, Hermione would have never had the chance to do a lot of things this summer. From missing out to attending a great reunion to seeing two of her best friends get married, she even have would have missed out on dating Blaise and seeing how he’s really a great guy. “You know what? Just call me when you’ve decided who you really like.” How is he doing? Hermione thought to herself as thoughts of that night drifted back to her head. It’s been about a week since Blaise left Hermione in the restaurant and since then they haven’t spoke to each other. Hermione was afraid that if she tried to contact him, the two would get into another argument. By getting into contact with Blaise when she still hasn’t made her choice would just make their situation worse for the both of them. If she talked to him, he would expect an answer and no matter how hard she thinks about it, Hermione would still have one. So contacting him when was out of the question. If you base your answer off of logic and plain facts, her answer would be plain and simple. Hermione is already dating Blaise, Draco is engaged to Astoria, and according to her last conversation with Astoria, Astoria wasn’t going to break off her engagement anytime soon. So shouldn’t Hermione just say yes to Blaise. What’s stopping her? “You’re a smart girl and you always go with what your head says. Maybe this time you should go with what your heart says.” Ok Ron, let’s see if this works… Almost instantly after, her thoughts wandered to her time at Hogwarts. How every time he entered the room her heart would skip a beat. How it hurt her to see him hook up with a different girl every night. How even though he went through the trouble just to find her and call her a ‘mudblood’, she went through the trouble just to find him so she could hear him call her one. Everyone was convinced that Hermione hated him throughout Hogwarts, she even had to convince herself sometimes that hate was the only emotion she felt towards him. He’s a Slytherin, a cocky full blood, and he hates my friends…I have no room but to hate him! Hermione would think to herself, but that’s what logic was telling her. Who knew for so many years her heart was trying to tell her something; it wasn’t until now that Hermione stopped fighting it and listened to what it had to say. From the day he first called her a ‘mudblood’ to the day he told her his true feelings, Hermione’s feelings towards Draco Malfoy were much more than just hate. It wasn’t until long until old habits came creeping back. He chose Astoria. The one he’s going to marry is her…not me. Hermione sadly thought. That night when Astoria came to the apartment, what Hermione told her was the truth. To break up an engagement, Hermione would never do that, not even if it means not having the chance to be with the one she truly loves. But to be with someone you truly don’t love is also just as bad, and Hermione doesn’t want to put Blaise through that. By marrying Blaise, that would hurt him much more than just telling him she couldn’t marry him. At least then Blaise has the chance to find someone who could and will love him more than she could. So what’s their left to do? After a week of trying to find the answer, finally she had her answer. Now all she had to do was tell it to him and prepare herself for the consequences that come with her choice. “Hermione, can you come here please?” she heard Ginny say snapping her out of her thoughts. “Coming!” Hermione called back. Walking out of her room, Hermione thought she was dreaming. Standing in the kitchen was Ron, Harry, Ginny talking and laughing like their argument never happened. But then she realized that she wasn’t dreaming because if she was dreaming she would be seeing Draco instead of them. “You actually came out!” Ginny said happily running up to hug Hermione. “So I’m guessing Ron is still Harry’s best man?” Hermione asked walking up to the counter. “Yea…it never changed.” Harry said. “Good.” Hermione said looking at Ron’s smiling face. Sitting around the table, Hermione never wanted this moment to end. Hermione didn’t want her time back to ever end… but she has made her choice, and sometimes all good things have to come to an end. **Wahoo for chpt 21!! FINALLY!
