Chapter 2: A Fresh Start

A/N: Sorry this one is short, it is sort of a filling chapter.

Hermione woke up from a soundless sleep, rolled over and fell off the bed hitting the floor with a thud.

“Owwww!” Hermione screamed as she got up. She got ready and slowly walked down the stairs to see Malfoy standing there watching her.

“Take your time, we are just 15 minutes LATE.” He said.

“Well who said you had to wait for me?”

“Umm I don’t know just the, headmistress.”

“Why?”

“I don’t know can we just go?”

“OK let me grab my bag. Wait do we have all out classes together?”

“Unfortunately yes, so how about we try to get along?”

“Ok Malfoy, so you stop calling me rude names and I will try to be civil?”

“OK deal, shall we go then, Miss Granger?”  He said holding out his arm.

“I would love to Mr. Malfoy.” She said as she linked arms with him and the walked out of the head dorms together.

Charms, Potions, and Transfiguration went by in a flash for Hermione. Now she found herself sitting by the Black Lake talking with Malfoy.

“So, what’s it like in the Muggle world?” he asked.

“Very different from the wizarding world, they have cars, and everything they do is more complicated. To be honest with you I much prefer being a witch over a muggle.”

“Yes I think I would too. Hey are you cold here.” He replied as he took off his robes and put them on Hermione’s shoulders.

“Thanks.” Before they knew it, it was sunset and they were walking back up to the castle. Many heads turn as they saw Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy waling side by side together and most importantly being civil.

“Everyone is watching us.” Hermione whispered.

“Well let’s give them something to watch.” He whispered back.

Hermione smirked as an idea came into her head.

“OH MY GOD Malfoy! Why are you standing so close to me?” she screamed at him, making everyone turn to look at the scene.

“WHAT! More like why are you, standing near me! Gosh I don’t want any of you filthy germs to fall on my VERY expensive robes!” He shouted back at her.

“Malfoy just admit you like me, we both know it and everyone was going to find out sooner or later.”

“Now why would an amazing pure blood like me like a filthy mudblood like you?”

Hermione gasped at the word mudblood but saw it in his eye he never meant it, so she started to fake cry and stormed off to the Head Dorms.

“Exactly. You keep running Granger!” He yelled after her as he turned and walked a different route to the dorms.

“Grrrrr this book tell us nothing!” Hermione screamed as she threw her charms book across the room.

“Hermione calm down, it’s just one question..” Hermione gasped he had said her first name.

“What?” He asked clearly confused.

“Y-you said my first name.”

“Is that a problem?” Before he knew it she had flung her arm around his neck in a tight embrace and naturally he hugged back.

“No, not at all, Draco.” She whispered as she continued to hug him. They stayed like this until, they sat down and Hermione fell asleep on Draco’s lap.  Soon he moved so he was lying down and Hermione was lying on his chest and lower body. They stayed like this till morning.
