So I had this idea after watching The Young Victoria and really wanted to go with it. So here it is! =] I hope you enjoy. - Mickie ______________________________________________________________________________ In the Victorian Age of England, the Wizarding World celebrated their own royal kind. Princess Lavinia would become the youngest Queen to rule over the witches and wizards of England being only seventeen. She would be known as the most popular Queen, becoming an advocate for witches rights, and adopting muggle welfare plans for the poor. Though she was the favorite Queen, her reign ended when she was only twenty-two. The result of falling in love with a muggle threw away the years of succession ahead of her. In those days integrated marriages were forbidden and anyone who took the chance was stripped of their magical powers no matter what their status. She lived the rest of her years as a muggle happily, adoring her noble muggle husband. Today young witches and wizards learn about her in school. Most pass her story up as another homework assignment, while others find her tale the most romantic and inspiring love story in Magical history. Hermione tapped ferociously on the black, wooden conference table. She grew more and more impatient as the time passed. She glanced at her watch for the hundredth time annoyed at her colleagues lack of punctuality. She let out a harsh sigh, and decided to leave her chair when she saw five men coming her way through the glass door. Minister Carl Complin opened the door and lead the other four men in, one of which she knew to be her best friend Harry Potter. The other three were Calvin Awkely, a time travel specialist. Brent Yvings, the brand new Head of Aurors, and lastly Blaise Zabini, the Minister’s personal secretary. The Minister, being a clumsy, heavy set man, waddled his way to the seat closest to Hermione. He patted her on the back, which startled her. "I am deeply sorry Miss Granger to have kept you waiting." Hermione smiled at him. Harry knew it was a smile of aggravation as he sat beside her opposite of Complin. "Well, I get an emergency notice at 3 in the morning to be here within the hour, and it’s now 5:30." She stated with slight frustration hidden in her voice, that the Minister did not notice. "Miss Granger," Brent commenced. "I’m sure a very smart witch like yourself knows much about the history of Queen Lavinia." "Of course, everyone does." "Around 11pm last night Draco Malfoy broke into the Time Travel Ministry and entered the capsule of the early 1800's. Shortly before the Princess became the Queen." Harry informed. "Why would he do that?" Hermione pondered out loud. "Draco is the obvious descendent of Lord Reid Malfoy. Because Lavinia was the youngest, if anything were to happen to her before she could become Queen, he would be the rightful heir." Brent explained further. Blaise continued. "Death Eaters sent him to prevent Lavinia from becoming Queen so his ancestor can rule over the Wizarding World. Making his family more powerful, and evidently increasing Voldemorts power within the years to come." "But even when she was Queen, she was stripped of her birth right." Hermione informed. "By that time another heir had been produced by her Uncle, who would take over the throne and fill out her duties according to what she wanted. You know him as," "King Frederick." "Very good Miss Granger." Complin beamed at her satisfied that he had made the right decision in his choosing. "We want to go in time and ensure that she does become Queen, or what we know now to be the present will be contorted by the twisted mind of Draco’s relative." "Why me?" Harry answered. "If Malfoy sees you there he’ll know who he’s dealing with. He’s going to try and weasel his way into her court, and win her trust." "How do you know this?" Inquired Hermione. Brent slapped Blaise on the shoulder. "Zabini here, is our double agent. Our very own Severus Snape if you will." "There’s also another reason why we want you." Hermione stared at Mr. Awkely for it was the first time he had spoken the whole meeting. "Because Draco is the descendent of Lord Reid, we wanted to send a descendent of Lavinia." He eyed Hermione up and down insinuating herself. Hermione laughed and replied, "no, I’m sorry. I’m not related to her. I come from a mug-" "A muggle line we know." Awkely interrupted. "When someone applies to be an Auror, back round checks are made. Mr. Yving here, traced your family history all the way to Duke Grant of Hampsworth. The muggle man that Lavinia gave up her magic for." "Are you serious?" Hermione was dumbfounded by the news. She never had known this. Her family had always bragged about once having royal connections, but not like this. They nodded, exchanging looks with her. "What do I need to do?" "You need to pose as her Lady In Waiting. She will learn to trust you in that position. You must become her friend and deflect her from Draco’s advances." Said Yving. Of course she would do it. "When do I leave?" "Now." http://www.harrypotterfanfiction.com |
