Never in my seventeen years of existence, was I glad to look up and see Dominique Weasley storm into a room. Truth be told, she scared me. And not in the way that someone should be scared in either, she was just bloody frightening. She somehow knew how to be the sweetest person as can be, but then turn into someone that could hex you in two minutes, if you really pissed her off. She was scary. I watched as she started pulling the covers off Fred and push him off the bed. She meant business. And if I wasn’t scared at the possibility that she could see me, I would have found all of this incredible funny. “Get up!” She shouted. I couldn’t help but laugh, as I turned to look at Albus. He was starring at his cousin wide-eyed, who also happened to be one of his best mates. I was starting to understand why. “Are you scared of your own cousin? Seriously?” I whispered up to him, but then again I couldn’t say anything. I was. But I had a right to be, I wasn’t her cousin. He looked frozen, -well he was- before realizing I had even said a word. He looked down at me, and I looked up at him. We sort of just lay there, on his bed, staring up at each other. I don’t think I ever thought this would happen before. I mean, who would have thought that I would be in this situation? I surely didn’t. “Al, what are you starring at?” Dominique came into my view, behind his back. I held in breath. I knew I didn’t need too, but she was bloody freighting, and there was a slight possibility that she could see me. I was hoping not, because that would make things incredible weird and uncomfortable. I would feel like the outcast among Gryffindor’s, not that I already wasn’t. And one big outcast to the whole Potter/Weasley clan; this I knew I was. “Nothing, Nikki, nothing at all,” Al said, pushing himself off the bed, the whole time his eyes never left mine. I think he was scared I would disappear and never return. Or at least disappear from him completely. I think I’m quite found of that idea. I liked it better when I was myself, or in no man’s land, where no one could see me and I was just some sort of dark empty space. "Bull, and don't call me Nikki." She spat, hitting him, before turning to Fred. I flinched; it was in the same place I kept hitting him. He was definitely going to have a bruise and not a good one either. "Come on, Freddie, get up." My gaze watched as she pushed him off the bed. “Bloody hell, Nik, you’re dead.” Freddie sprung up, which made me laugh, because he now was chasing her around the room with his pillow in hand. It was funny, watching them together. It was a family scene, that I somehow felt like I was intruding on, but my eyes wouldn’t turn away. Freddie wanted no part of being woken up, which was ironic since he now was fully awake and springing for joy. “You’re lucky.” He huffed, before discarding his pillow on his bed and exiting into the showers. “Yeah, well next time, I’m going to catch you’re curtains on fire.” Dominique yelled at him over the roaring water. Somehow, I had a feeling she would do it too. I honestly wouldn’t put it past her. “Ten minutes that is all you have, before I leave and tell the world you’re deepest darkest secrets.” She crossed her arms, in such a elegant fashion, that it almost seemed like she was joking, even though I knew she wasn’t. I looked over at Al; he just nodded to her. I could have laughed at this. He looked like one of those bobble heads. “I’ll be waiting downstairs. Ten minutes Freddie. I mean it,” she yelled, and with that she was gone. I watched as Albus turned to face me. "Meet me in the charms classroom after breakfast,” he whispers lightly to me, with a look of pure desperation in his eyes. I couldn’t place why he looked at me like that. It was so new to me, that I wasn’t even sure he meant for me to see it. “Come on, mate.” I let my gaze fall on the bathroom door, where a wet-haired Freddie, who happened to fully clothed, was standing. I was thankful for this. “We best get down there; I don’t want her biting my head off again.” He added, picking up his bag, which you could tell was half full of joke supplies. Freddie, Albus, and Dominique were notorious for pulling some of the best pranks known to mankind. However, when you think about it, it all made sense. Freddie was related to George Weasley, one of the Weasley twins, plus named after the other; it was expected for him to be the epitome of greatness in the prank world. And, Albus was the grandson of one of the best pranksters known to the school, James Potter; it all made sense. Plus, Nikki, was just Nikki, and thrown in with the other two, just made them the epic trio of pranks. I clearly have too much time to think about these things. Albus nodded, watching his cousin leave the room, before looking at me again. “Promise to meet me?” I nodded. I did promise. I didn’t have anything better to do then to follow his Gryffindor arse around. I sighed, as I watched him leave me in the boy’s dorm room. I was alone. What fun this was going to be. ------------------------------------- It wasn't easy going to the Charms Classroom, not as easy as I thought it would be anyway. I couldn’t talk to Albus, at all. They were apparently having a written exam today. Something I wasn’t grateful for. I was bored out of my mind. How was I suppose to figure out what was wrong, if all I could do was sit, well stand, in the back of the classroom next to Albus, and watch him take an exam. This was boring. I hate boredom. I would much rather be watching butterflies fly towards a sparkly star. I don’t really know if butterflies even do that, but I’m going to pretend they do. Just because. Maybe, they are magical butterflies. You know ones that like stars that sparkle in the sky like diamonds. I once knew someone that was called Diamond; she wasn’t a very nice person. She dated my cousin and they were engaged to be married. However, the day they were supposed to be married; he caught him in bed with the best man. It was not a pretty site. This is why I don’t like people named Diamond. And neither do my imaginary magical butterflies. Yup, it’s official. I’m bored. It’s like watching paint dry. Really, it is. I look over at Albus, who is currently hitting himself in the head with his quill. I laugh, which earns me a glare. I shrug, changing my stance so I can look over his shoulder. “That’s wrong.” I whisper to him, not that I need to whisper. No one can hear me. This earns me another glare. I take it he didn’t like that very much. “What?” Another glare, I shrug. “It is.” I add. Albus glares at me. You know, he still looks rather sexy when he glares. He’s not very good at glaring either. It just doesn’t suit him or who he is. He is somewhat of a nice – what am I saying? Blah. “I’m trying to take a test here, Nate.” He whispers to me, so softly I can barely hear him. “Either shut it, or get lost.” “The door’s shut” He just looks at me like I’m stupid, which I am in fact not. The door is really shut. “What?” He asked in a violent whisper. I roll my eyes. Really? I think he is the one that is stupid. I point my right thumb over my shoulder at the door, “The door is shut.” I smirk, when he gives me this look like he is going to hit me until there is no tomorrow. “I can’t pass through the wall, so you’re stuck with me until this class is over.” I say, with a shrug. “Actually, you’re stuck with me period.” He glares at me, again. “What, it’s true.” “Shut it.” Albus closed his eyes as he said this. I wasn’t sure if it was because I was annoying him or because he didn’t want me to see something that his eyes would betray. I’m only saying that because he shook his head while he said what he did. Therefore, I think it was the first option. At least that is what I am hoping. “Mr. Potter, is there a problem that you can’t keep your mouth shut!” Another glare sent my way, I can feel it. I looked up to see the Professor standing in front of us, looking rather pissed and concerned. I don’t blame her at all. She has a student who is not only disrupting her class while they are taking an exam, but also taking to himself. That would make for a pretty interesting story, if I don’t say. Here we are going to the crazy house. “No, ma’am.” Another glare. “Then I suggest you finish the rest of your exam in silence, or you will receive not only a troll, but a month’s worth of detention. Do I make myself clear?” “Yes, ma’am” Albus said, before giving me another glare. This is the eight time he has glared at me in less than ten minutes. It’s a new record to go in the record books of Nate Taylor and Al Potter. Really, we do have one. Lily keeps it hidden under her bed, just so we know who has one what for the last seven years. It is a rather funny thing to read. I’ll show you sometime. Trust me, you’ll love it. “Here,” I whisper, coming up behind him, so close that if he turns his head it will hit mine. I don’t know why I’m helping him; I usually try and beat his sorry arse, but I guess since there isn’t anything better to do, I will help him. I lay my hand over his, grasping it, before writing the correct answer on the sheet. I look over at him, he looks somewhere between thoroughly pissed, and completely happy. It’s kind of funny, because his eyes don’t seem to know which one to choice as his emotion. We stare at each other for a while. It seems like a eternity passing, even though I know it is only a matter of seconds. Somehow, I really don’t want to break the silence, but Al apparently doesn’t feel the same way. “This is cheating, you know.” He whispers to me, so softly, as I feel his breath on my cheek. I smile, looking up at the professor, before returning my gaze to him. “Not if no one else can see me.” ------------------------------------------------ “If anyone saw that I will somehow bring you back to life and kill you myself.” I hear Albus say, but I’m not really paying him much attention. I hear what he is saying. Really, I do. However, none of it is setting in my mind or staying with me. I am currently staring across the courtyard; my eyes are captivated by three people. They are the ones that I wish I was sitting next; the ones that I wish could hear me laugh and could hear me speak. I wish I was over with them. That is where I want to be. I want to be home. And right now, I’m not. I’m sitting with Albus Potter, on a rock as he babbles on about me helping him with his exam. I don’t see the problem. I would want help from the invisible girl that only I could see. “Nate? Nate? Nate!” “What?” I turn to look at him. He seems frustrated. I can understand why, since I didn’t hear a single thing he said after kill. “You didn’t hear anything I just said did you?” He asks me, and truthfully, I don’t feel like lying to him, so I don’t. I just shake my head and look back toward the three Slytherin’s. “You really miss them don’t you?” “They’re my best mates, how could I not miss them?” I ask. They were my life, my friends, and my family. I choice them and they had chosen me. We fit into a puzzle that we only knew the pieces for. It all made sense to us, no matter what anyone else said. It made sense, and they always knew how to make life seem like it was all going to be okay in the end, no matter how ruff it seemed at the moment. “They are a part of me that I didn’t realize existed so deep inside of me, until now. I need them, more than they ever will understand, and I can’t tell them.” I whisper, my eyes flashing over to the person next to me, before closing. I feel his hand gather mine, before I hear him. “It’s all going to work out, you’ll see.” He says, “I know that they feel the same way. They are different without you being there with them. Anyone in school can tell the difference. Trust me.” And for a moment I do. “Al?” “Yeah, Nate.” “I need you to do me a favor.” I say, opening my eyes and looking at him. He just nods, looking taken back by my sudden outburst. “I need you to talk to Lily for me.” “Are you bloody out of your mind?” He nearly yells, which earns him so stares from the people close by. “Lily will think I’m crazy and probably tell mum and dad who then would want me check out. No, thank you, Nate, I think I’ll pass on this one.” “Please!” I give him the puppy-dog eyes. No one can resist my puppy-dog eyes. “Lily is the best person to help us. She is into all the supernatural stuff that happens within magic. She could be a big help to our investigation. Please, for me?” I don’t know why I added that, but I felt it would work. “Fine.” He says at last. I just smile. ---------------------------- AN: Hey Guys, I'm sorry this is so late, but I lost my usb drive that had this story on it and I just found it. I will be back with another chapter soon.
