All students sit in Great hall waiting for new year's sorting. It's Harry's 3rd year. While sorting a name is announced-Riya Potter. All are surprised. Riya goes in Gryffindor. She declares herself as Harry's sister. Can this be true? If yes, how is she born after Lily's death? But Harry is determined to find out.

Chapter 2: Sorting

   There was quite noise in the great hall when the firsties entered. Harry stared at Riya & Hermione wished her good luck. Both Riya & Piya looked nervous. Professor McGonagall told everyone about the sorting hat and many firsties were surprised. Then she started calling names.





 A girl was sorted in Gryffindor & then 2 boys in Ravenclaw. There were cheers from respective tables. Some boys went to Slytherin & some to Hufflepuff. Now only handful students remained. And then a name was called, “Piya.”





 There were whispers when no surname was attached to the name. But as soon as the hat settled on Piya’s head, it called out, “Gryffindor.” There were cheers from the Gryffindor table. Hermione congratulated Piya as she sat next to her.





 And then a name was announced which no one expected. McGonagall called out, “Potter, Riya.” Everyone looked at Riya & then to Harry.





 The hat was placed on Riya’s head. The hat looked confused. “I want to be in Gryffindor. I would have preferred Slytherin but I want Gryffindor now.” Riya whispered to the hat. After a moment’s silence, the hat shouted, “Gryffindor”. There was another cheer from Gryffindor table as Riya sat besides Piya.





   “O Harry, there’s one more Potter in the school now.” Fred said. George congratulated Riya as food appeared on the table. But Harry looked quite confused. Riya said, “Harry, Hermione, I am sorry. I was just waiting for the right time to tell you that I am Harry’s sister.” Harry, Hermione & Ron were shocked at what Riya said. They looked even more confused.






   Riya and Piya ate their dinner without another word.

 After dinner & desserts Dumbledore got up and said, “May I have your attention please? Forbidden forest is forbidden as usual. And no one will go near whomping willow, and it's a strict warning. Well, I feel it a great pleasure to introduce Professor Lupin. He will be your Defense Against Dark Arts teacher. I hope you all enjoyed your dinner. Now go to your respective rooms. Prefects will take the first years. All of you, enjoy the upcoming year.” He sat down and all students got up.





 It was hard for Harry to avoid all gazes and questions. He, Ron and Hermione ran straight to Gryffindor common room. Ginny, Fred and George were sitting at a table and the trio joined them.





   “Harry, who is this Riya? She was saying that she is your sister.” Ginny asked. “Do you believe her?” Harry replied with angry look. “We don’t but what ‘bout others?” George said.





  “We have to find out her reality or else stop her from telling lies.” Ron said. “But where is she? I haven’t seen her since we left great hall.” Hermione replied.

   But none of them saw Riya. "She must be surrounded by questions," Harry thought.





 “Let’s corner her tomorrow morning. Her and that Piya also.” Fred suggested. “O.K. But let’s not talk ‘bout it now. I’m tired and want to sleep now.” Harry was really exhausted.





All of them went to sleep.
