During the assignment of their detentions Gerry did not look at Rosemarie once. She felt a tinge of sadness come over her. Rosemarie walked quietly up to the astronomy tower making sure no one saw her. When she walked out into the cool night air, she turned holding onto the balcony’s railing for support. Gerry stood with one foot bent against the wall, his usually light blue eyes were black and his fists were clenched with rage. “We need to talk.” He stated simply. Chapter three: Because a vision softly creeping, Lovely chapter image by Jeanie @ TDA! ![]() ‘Arguments are to be avoided; they are always vulgar and often convincing.’ Oscar Wilde, ‘The Importance of Being Earnest’ “Okay.” Rosemarie replied. A wave of sadness began to overcome her features. She was so unsure of what was going to happen, she had know since her and Gerry started dating their had been something he’d kept from her. A silent secret that was never spoken, she was always too afraid to ask him, for she knew he’d open up to her in his own time. But know she wondered whether he ever would, let her in on his secret; his mystery. She shivered lightly at the sudden coldness of the atmosphere around them, she know wished she had brought her jacket up here with her, but alas it sat on her bed. “Here.” He stated simply, he unzipped his brown leather jacket and placed it over her shoulders. Rosemarie slipped her arms into his very cold jacket. She could smell his scent it was very intoxicating, it made her knees feel weak as though she was going to faint. She placed her hands against the cold railing holding it tightly to stop herself from falling. Gerry couldn’t help but laugh at Rosemarie dilemma. She was pleased that he was laughing it released the awkward tension from the air. The sound of his deep laughter stopped and she turned around to face him. “Thanks for the jacket. It is so cold tonight.” She smiled and walked over to the wall she slid down until she reached the ground she sat cross-legged with her back against the wall. “I don’t want you to go near Remus Lupin again.” He stated placing himself next to her. Rosemarie looked at him hurt evident in her eyes. She loved him more than anything but she wouldn’t agree to his command. She knew that Remus was a friend the only friend she had ever had and she didn’t want to ruin that. Friendship was very precious to her; she didn’t want to talk only to herself anymore. She wanted someone to sit next to in her classes and do assignments with instead of being placed with someone who doesn’t want to be around her, someone who calls her the Mad Hatter. “I’m sorry Gerry, but I can’t promise you that.” Rosemarie replied seriously. Gerry looked at her angry and hurt fuelled his eyes. Although he had known that she would say no, he knew that she didn’t want to give up having a friend. But he still didn’t trust Remus Lupin and he was worried that she would fall for Remus. Gerry had told Rosemarie from the beginning that he wasn’t prince charming he was the bad guy but she had just brushed it off. “He likes you. He finds you interesting, Rosemarie. He wants to ‘get to know you better’.” Gerry stared at her boring into her grey eyes trying to read her thoughts once more but alas he couldn’t those grey eyes didn’t give anything away. Rosemarie laughed at Gerry’s accusation of Remus’ intentions, he hardly even knew her, so of course if they were friends then he’d want to get to know her better. “Gerard Edward Hallow everything you just said is silly, firstly you can’t see inside Remus’ head so you can’t know what he’s thinking, secondly he is a friend who has only just met me so I’d like find out more about him, so I’m sure he feels the same and thirdly I love you and I’m sorry if being friends with Remus upsets you but I want to have a friend.” Rosemarie replied honestly as Gerry sighed in defeat. He wrapped one hand around her waist pulling her against him. Rosie snuggled into his chest inhaling his scent. “So have you felt like singing or talking mermish today?” His smirked trying to lighten the mood. “No but the day isn’t over yet. How’s you’re ankle? I’m really sorry about that. I hope to dear god that I didn’t harm you. I just couldn’t run away and leave poor James in that condition knowing it was my entire fault. Oh and thanks for putting me back in the carriage Gerry. Although I’m amazed at how fast you did it. How could no one notice? You must be a really good runner.” She said happily as Gerry tightened his grip around Rosemarie’s waist, she shivered at his cold touch. “Hey I can’t give away my secrets and you haven’t seen anything as far as running is concerned. (Rosemarie laughed at this.) You didn’t harm me Rosie, but I must say I didn’t see it coming and my ankle is fine. To be honest I have never before heard the spell that Snape used on Potter, so I was unsure as to what would happen to him. Rosie, can you do anything without getting hurt?” Gerry laughed loudly as did Rosemarie. “Well you best get to sleep or else you’ll be asleep in charms and I’ll only be able to see you’re head against the desk.” “Fine, goodnight Gerry.” She stood up and he placed a light kiss on her lips. Rosemarie’s heart thudded loudly against her chest she hoped he couldn’t hear it, she was sure she would fall over but his strong arms held her protectively. “Goodnight Rosie.” She moved out of his arms and felt as though she was in a dream, had he really just kissed her. Rosemarie began to walk away staring dreamily at the ceiling of the astronomy tower, when she realized she still had his jacket. “Oh. Here.” She turned around beginning to take it off when he stopped her. “Keep it.” He said then walked away down the staircase and off towards the dungeons. a/n Thanks for reading, please review. =) http://www.harrypotterfanfiction.com |
