She groaned and slowly made her way out of James’ bed and to the hallway. Sirius was standing in front of Morgan’s door, pounding on it with his fists; Morgan was obviously on the other side of the door screaming at him. Lily rubbed her eyes and watched from a distance as Sirius pounded on the door again. “I just want to talk Morgan.” He said, you could hear Morgan scoff from the other side of the door. “Well I don’t feel like talking now Black, so why don’t you go find someone else to bug.” She said, Lily rolled her eyes and moved towards Sirius. “Please Morgan.” Sirius begged. “There is no use in begging Sirius; she isn’t going to let you in.” Lily said softly, putting her hand on his shoulder. Sirius turned and looked at her, he sighed and moved to lean against the door. “She hasn’t come out, she hasn’t eaten. I want to make sure she’s okay, but she won’t even talk to me.” He said, you could tell Morgan was listening through the door. Lily looked at Sirius, and smiled lightly. “Just give her time Sirius, she’ll come around. Why don’t you go, and I’ll try talking to her.” She said, Sirius looked at her for a second, before nodding and moving off the door and down stairs. Lily watched as he went before tapping the door lightly. “It’s me Morgan, just me.” She said, the door opened a crack and Morgan peaked out, before opening the door all the way to let Lily in. Lily looked at her in disbelief, as she sat on her bed. “He just wanted to talk you know.” Lily said, looking up at Morgan, Morgan nodded slowly, glancing out the window and not looking at Lily. “I know he wanted to talk, but…ugh…I don’t know Lily. I’m just so confused about what he said before and all that.” Morgan said, crossing her arms over her stomach. She was hungry for sure; she hadn’t eaten anything not even the stuff that Mrs. Potter had brought up earlier. Lily watched Morgan curiously as she walked around the room. “Morgan, I would say just let him talk, you don’t even half to say anything, just let him speak.” Lily said, looking to see what was out the window. “I don’t want to hear what he has to say, not yet at least. He is the one who started this whole thing, so he can deal with the consequences of it.” Morgan said, you hear the hurt and anger in her voice as she did so. She turned to look Lily in the eyes. “If I were you Lily, I would take this moment to talk to James, you know you’d rather do that then be here trying to get me and Sirius to be civil.” Morgan said, Lily sighed, Morgan was right, but of course she was still concerned about her friend. “I will go talk to James, but first I want to make sure you’re eating.” Lily said. “I’ll eat.” Morgan said, smirking and going to where she had put a few snacks. She took a cookie and began to chew. “See? I’m eating.” She said, Lily rolled her eyes and stood up. “If you really want me to talk to James I will.” She said, before looking at Morgan one last time and then leaving to go find James. --- Lily wandered down stairs, looking around for any sign of someone or well James. She made her way into the kitchen, to find both Sirius and James talking. Sirius was sitting on the counter looking lost and almost pained and James was sitting at the table, just being James. Lily smirked to herself as she went to join the boys. “She won’t come down, but I got her to eat something.” She said, both boys turned to look at her. Sirius with more of a worried gaze then anything, Lily tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled weakly, going and sitting next to James at the table. “Why am I such an idiot?” Sirius muttered. “You were just watching out for her, you just forgot to think about how it would hurt her.” Lily said, trying to think of something a little more calming to say to him. “I don’t even know what he said to her.” Sirius said. “And that’s probably why you shouldn’t have over reacted.” Lily said, James gave her a ‘not helping’ look, Sirius sighed and jumped off the counter. He smiled a fake smile and left the room. “She doesn’t want to talk to him, not yet at least.” Lily said, turning and looking James in the eye. James looked up, surprised at what she said. “She won’t even let him come to her room to talk.” Lily added, James sighed and broke their gaze. “Come on, this house is to depressing, lets go for a walk.” He said, standing up, Lily looked up at his astonished and then followed suit. She stood next to him, James held out his arm for her. Lily giggled and took it, curtsying slightly. James lead them to the front door, opening it for her and letting her go through first. “Thank you sir.” Lily said, smiling, James returned the smile a gleam of hope in his eyes. Lily was actually having fun with him, and being nice. This wasn’t the Lily he was used to at all. “Where to James?” She asked, James shrugged as long as he was out of the house and with Lily he was fine. He just wanted to escape all the drama that was happening inside. James led her out towards the park a few blocks away. Lily looked out, the sun was barely up, leaving an almost darkness to the houses around them. She looked over at James. He looked flustered and annoyed, as he led her to the park. She stayed silent, not wanting to be the reason he got any angrier. They approached the park James seemed to ease down a bit. He sighed, before sitting down on one of the swings. Lily took the one next to him, slowly swinging back and forth, watching him form the corner of her eye. James didn’t move much, he moved his legs slowly, but hardly went anywhere. Lily drifted her eyes over to the slide the reflected the sun over to the houses across from them. “I don’t get it…” James said suddenly, Lily whipped her head around to look at him. James was staring at the ground, moving back and forth slowly. “Why are you so nice to me now?” He said, almost whispered. Lily looked at the ground as well, not wanting to meet his gaze. “Why do you act like you are now? Why aren’t you yelling and screaming at me for looking at you?” He kept going. Lily sighed. “Because I go care, I don’t want to yell and scream anymore, I want to be your friend.” Lily said, James looked up at her. His eyes were darkly colored, showing an almost angry Lily hadn’t seen before. “I’ve wanted to be friends with you since our first year.” James said, before turning back to the look at the ground. “And all you’ve done is yell and scream, now when our two closet friends are together and having a big fight, you get all close to me.” James said, standing slightly, and walking away. “I want to be with you James, I’m not lying.” Lily said, standing up to follow. “I’m not going to let you do this to me; I’m not going to be stuck with this again. Just no…I’m done Lily.” James said walking back towards his house, anger spilling off of him. Lily felt tears sting her eyes, and she kneeled on the ground, putting her head in her hands. So maybe this wasn’t going to be the best summer ever. A/N: Hey Everyone. This is sorta of a filler type chapter. There will be a new one soon. I just want to say that this is how I think James and Lily got together. I don't think they fell right in love, I mean after being rejected for about 6 years, you think a guy would give up. So yeah, this is my point of view of things. Please Review -Maggie http://www.harrypotterfanfiction.com |
