They hadn’t really even talked to her. The house was petite, small and a light bluish color, flowers were planted, and it had some charm. Isabella grabbed her trunk and brought it inside. Her mother and father hardly caring, they could have locked her out without knowing. Isabella sighed; this really wasn’t home sweet home. She walked up to her room, it was an ok size the walls were painted a silvery color. A desk sat in the corner under the window, and the bed was right beside it. There was a tiny closet and one tall dresser. Isabella looked out the window, it a view of the smallish backyard. Something about this place gave her a bad feeling. Once her stuff was in her room she headed down stairs to the kitchen. She didn’t even bother unpacking. Her mother looked at her from the stove. “How was Hogwarts?” She asked Isabella looked at her confused. Those were the first words they had said this whole time. “Fine, meet new friends, got into Gryffindor.” She said, casually leaning against the counter. Her mum cringed at the word. “You’re a Gryffindor?” She asked Isabella nodded. “Yeah, I’m close friends with a muggle-born named Lily Evans, and a few other people.” Isabella said, seeing a slight look of discomfort on her mum’s face. She decided to see how far she could push her mum’s limits; this was going to be fun. “My other friends are James Potter and Sirius Black.” She added. “Oh, honey I forgot to mention we’re going to be having a few people come over tonight for dinner.” Her mum as she kept cooking. “Please go and get ready. I’m glad you had fun at school.” She added. Isabella pushed away from the counter. “Ok mum.” She replied, leaving the kitchen and going back up to her room. “That’s really weird.” She thought out loud, before going and getting parchment and a quill. She began to write: Sirius, Its already really freaky here, my parents hardly talked to me. And when my mum did she cringed when I said I was a Gryffindor, and when I said I was friends with you. I also told her I was friends with Lily. Her response was she’s having ‘friends’ over tonight. Something isn’t right. Help? Isabella She tied the letter to the owl’s leg. And let it fly out her bedroom window. She lay back on her bed. The door bell rang, and there was the sound of people walking in. “Is she here yet?” A voice sneered Isabella knew they were talking about her. “Yes, and with secrets.” Her mum said. Isabella stiffened. “Oh, well you know what we’re going to have to do?” “Yes I do.” Isabella got out of her bed and moved closer to the closed door. Someone began to come up the stairs. She backed away slowly, her body shaking. They knocked on the door. “Who is this?” She asked trying to keep her voice steady. “Regulus Black.” The voice answered. Isabella gulped. “What do you want?” She asked, her body began to shake again. “To help you.” He replied, grabbing the knob to turn it. “Why would you want to help me?” She asked, watching as the door knob turned. She gulped, grasping her wand. “If I don’t then they are going to kill you.” He said, opening the door and walking into her room. He lightly closed the door behind himself. He looked like a younger version of Sirius, though not as handsome and a lot more troubled. “How do I know I can trust you?” She asked. Regulus sighed. “If you don’t trust me now, you won’t live to see next year.” “That’s what they were talking about weren’t they?” She asked. Regulus nodded slowly, an owl tapped on her window. Regulus looked at it then Isabella. “I was writing your brother.” She said. “Go get it.” She looked confused. “Get it and write back saying you’d be there as soon as you can.” Regulus said. Isabella got up and went to open the window to let the bird in. She took the letter from its legs and read it to herself quietly. Isabella, Don’t freak to much, just make sure your paying attention to everything. Also if you want to come to James’ house okay? Sirius Regulus looked at her. “What should I say?” She asked, taking a quill and looking at him. “Tell him you’ll be there soon and to keep to owl.” He said, Isabella nodded writing back, and sending it away. “So what’s your plan?” She asked, looking towards her un-packed trunk. “I’m here as a look out.” He said. “Before they start their meeting they will ask me to look to see if anyone is coming. When I go and open the door, you’ll come down, and run.” She nodded. “Now here’s what you do for now, pack everything you can in your trunk, then shrink it.” He said, going to the door to leave. “Thanks.” She said he just nodded before leaving. -- Isabella looked out the window, biting her lip. She was nervous, everything that wasn’t packed before was now in her trunk. She had went through every drawer and space. “Regulus can you go see if anyone else is out there.” His mother said. “Ok.” He said, looking up the stairs. Isabella sighed, and shrunk her trunk beginning to slowly sneak down the stairs. His mother walked back into the kitchen, and he waved for her to come faster. She began to shake again. “It’s fine.” He mouthed, Isabella began to walk faster then before. Hey shrunken trunk in the pocket of her jeans and a hoodie on over her shirt. Regulus opened the door and she snuck quietly outside. She turned and gave him a hug, “Thank you Regulus, I owe you.” She said. “It’s fine, just go, and run, fast where ever you can, oh and here.” He said handing her some floo powder. She took it great fully. He motioned for her to go, she smiled weakly before running down the street. Regulus watched her, before going inside. “Anyone out there dear?” Mrs. Black asked. “No.” He replied looking up the stairs to her room. -- Isabella ran for what seemed like days. Her lungs were on fire, she sat do on a bench, it was near getting dark, and she was lost. Isabella sighed; there was a slight wind before a double-decker bus pulled in front of her. She looked at it, a little bit confused. “Welcome to the night bus, I am Max White.” The man said. “Um…” “Do you want a ride or not?” He asked, she nodded stepping on to the bus. Her eyes glanced around, as she sat down. “Where to missy?” Max asked. “Potter residence.” “Oh, a boyfriend.” “No family.” “I didn’t know they had a daughter.” “No, I’m a cousin.” Isabella said. “Oh well, here’s your receipt.” She took the paper and went to hand him the money. Before settling into the bed she was sitting on. Just as she was drifting off the sleep they arrived. “Potter residence.” Max announced, Isabella groaned and stood up. She thanked them before leaving the bus. She took a deep breathe before walking up the walkway. The night bus disappeared; she looked back before going to the door. She knocked slowly, before she heard someone run to the door. ‘Sirius.’ She thought. The door opened to reveal Sirius Black standing there looking tired and worried. He looked at her and quickly brought her into a hug. “Are you ok?” He whispered not letter her go. She felt tears, but she was still scared. “ I’m fine, but they wanted me dead.” She said, shaking slightly. “Let’s get you inside.” Sirius said, still hugging her as they walked inside. Mrs. Potter came up to them, Isabella was still near tears. “You most be Isabella. Would you like something to eat?” Mrs. Potter said, Isabella shook her head, looking at Sirius. “No thank you, I really just want to go to bed.” She said, Mrs. Potter nodded, Sirius hugged Isabella close. “I see dear, I’ll have an elf make a bed for you.” “It’s fine, she can sleep in my bed for tonight.” Sirius said, Isabella looked between the two. “Is that okay with you?” Mrs. Potter asked. “Yes, it’s fine.” Isabella said, Sirius nodded before taking her to his room. Mrs. Potter watched them for a minute, before going to the kitchen. Isabella followed Sirius, his room was messy, but she didn’t care. She took her trunk out of her pocket, and put it on his dresser. She looked at him, before laying on his bed. Sirius looked at her. “Here…” He said, handing her a pair of his boxers and a shirt. She looked at him confused. “Pajamas….” He said, she nodded taking the clothes. Sirius walked towards the door. “I’ll be right back.” He said, before walking out. Isabella looked at the clothes he had handed her. She started to change. -- Sirius walked down the stairs, and into the kitchen. Mrs. Potter was standing there waiting for him. She looked like she was waiting for him to come. “So?” She said simply. Sirius looked at her confused. “Is that the one?” Mrs. Potter asked Sirius nodded. “I have this gut feeling she is.” Sirius said. “She has that essence to her, but I’d like to talk to her too.” She said. “Isabella is scared now, let her sleep.” Sirius said. “I wasn’t planning on it today, maybe a few days.” Mrs. Potter said, Sirius smiled if she was on his side then there was no way he could be wrong. “Now go and make sure she sleeps.” Mrs. Potter said. Sirius nodded and then walked back up to his room. When he got there, he saw Isabella sleeping on his bed. She was under the covers and breathing softly. He slowly moved into the bed next to her. When he did she moved to rest her head on his chest. He inhaled, before putting an arm around her. He stayed awake until her knew she was completely asleep before falling asleep himself. In the middle of the night Isabella began kicking, and almost yelling. Waking Sirius up, he held on to her tight. “Shh… its okay.” He said, trying to call her down. “No…please don’t” She cried, tears running down her cheeks, but she was still asleep. http://www.harrypotterfanfiction.com |
