     What is Love?
In the dictionary love is defined by a pationate feeling of affection for another person, but everyone makes their own definition. In the eyes of Lily Evans, this is what love means.

                                               ***

The day was quiet and peaceful. There were no clouds in the baby blue sky, on this wonderful spring afternoon. The wind was blowing, making the trees sway back and forth. The perfect day for the perfect wedding.

"Lily! You look so beautiful!" said Anastacia, Lily's best friend and maid of honor. She was dressed in a georgous bridesmaid dress, a pink strapless dress with small rinestones and sparkles on it. While, Lily was dressed in an amazing wedding gown. She looked like an angel. The dress fit her every move, her curves, it seemed to hug her body.

"Ana... I- I can't do this." Lily looked down, holding back tears from leaking out of her eyes.

"Aw, Lils.. Come here," Ana pulled her into a hug. She sat Lily down and looked right into her eyes, "Lily, you love James, right?" with a frown on her face, Lily nodded "He makes you happy, right?" tears falling from her eyes, she nodded again. Her sad expression began changing to a smile, "and you want to spend the rest of your life with him?" Lily smiled, nodding a silent 'thank you' to Ana.

"Thanks, Ana. Your right, I can do this. I love James, with all my heart, and I will untill the last breath in me is gone. I want to spend the rest my life with him, to grow old with him. He makes me the happiest I could ever be, because he brings out the best in me, and I in him."

Tears of joy formed in Lily's eyes, a few fell down her cheeks. She pulled the white lace veil over her face.

"Are you ready?" said Ana. Lily nodded, a confidant loving smile plastered onto her lovely face, even though no one could see it, it was there.

                                               ***

James stood up at the altar. He watched Lily's little cousin, Gracie, walk up to him, gently tossing flower petals onto the floor. Then two by two, the groomsmen and bridesmaids walked, lastly Sirius Black walked escorting Anastacia Petrenalii. They were James and Lily's absolute best friends.

"James, mate.. Your one lucky guy." whispered Sirius Black, who was now standing next to the groom. James smiled and nodded, "I hope someday I'll be able to have this kind of happiness with someone." James put a strong hand on his best mate's shoulder.

"You will Sirius. You will, someday" Sirius smiled, his famous smirk playing at his face.

The organ began to play music, it seemed to flow like the wind through the trees. The doors to the church opened, all eyes looked back. There was Lily walking next to her father. The sunlight illuminated past the stained glass doors, Lily looked like an angel. Only minus the fluttering wings and glowing golden halo. As Lily and her father neared the altar, a single tear of happiness fell from James' eye.

"James, out of all the men in the entire world, I don't think I could of picked anyone else to marry Lily on this day. No one else could love and cherish her the way you do." said Matthew Evans, as he took Lily's hand and placed it in James'.

"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to join these two in hold matrimony. If anyone shall see a reason why these two should not join, then let them speak now or forever hold their peace." The minister paused, no one spoke, a pin could be heard dropping to the floor, "Now for their vows.. "

James stepped up, taking a ring and holding it before Lily, "From this day on, I choose you, my beloved Lily, to be my wife. To live with you and laugh with you; to stand by your side, and sleep in your arms; to be joy to your heart, and food for your soul; to bring out the best in you always, and, for you, to be the most that I can. I promise to laugh with you in good times, to struggle with you in bad; to solace you when you are downhearted; to wipe your tears with my hands; to comfort you with my body; to mirror you with my soul; to share with you all my riches and honors; to play with you as much as I can until we grow old; and, still loving each other sweetly and gladly, our lives shall come to an end." He kissed the ring and slid it upon Lily's finger.

Lily took a matching ring, ready to put it on James' hand, "From this day on, I choose you, my beloved James, to be my husband. To live with you and laugh with you; to stand by your side, and sleep in your arms; to be joy to your heart, and food for your soul; to bring out the best in you always, and, for you, to be the most that I can. I promise to laugh with you in good times, to struggle with you in bad; to solace you when you are downhearted; to wipe your tears with my hands; to comfort you with my body; to mirror you with my soul; to share with you all my riches and honors; to play with you as much as I can until we grow old; and, still loving each other sweetly and gladly, our lives shall come to an end." She too kissed the ring, placing it on James' finger.

"Lily, do you take James to be your husband, To have and to hold till death do you part?"

   "I do."

"James, do you take Lily to be your wife, to have and to hold till death do you part?"

   "I do."

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." James gently raised the veil over Lily's face, gracefully leaning over he kissed her passionately.

Lily closed the photo album of her wedding night, placing it on the table next to her bed. Thoughts of her wedding day with James still lingered in her mind, her eyes looked next to her, to the form of her sleeping husband. She smiled, a caring smile filled with the love, fire and passion that she's always dreamed of feeling.

   This is Love.
