Princess of the Rising Sun by Fallen Angel
Chapter 1: Summer Before Hogwarts
A/N: Alright, so this story was put on hold for a little bit while I had to finish my other story, THE BLOOD FEUD. The Renaulde surname is credited from the book and movie series, The Princess Diaries Series. I just love pronouncing it. Anyway, hope you like!
Disclaimer : I don't own Harry Potter. JK Rowling does though, together with Scholastic Books and Warner Bros. So stop banging on my door, stupid lawyers!
The night was young, and Isabella Clarisse Renaulde was staring at the ceiling. It has always been like this for the last ten years. Breakfast, jogging with her bodyguards, home schooling, and lunch with her personal assistant, Emily, another round of studying, then dinner with her father, sometimes even alone. After all those activities, it was straight to bed with her. Never was she allowed to go out in public without so much as five guards flanking all over her, removing all the fun out of it. In addition to that were her older twin brothers. Overprotective of their little sister, the cover-worthy royals are very much fending off the only handful male friends she has. She heaved a sigh at her disposition.
‘I only wish for a normal life. A normal family. A normal day. Is that even too high of a dream to be taken away from me?’ she thought sadly.
A king for a father, and older brothers as princes, Isabella wished for a normal life. That is why she wrote to Dumbledore: to enter Hogwarts. Almost as if on cue, a flash of red was seen, and a letter was delivered to her. Excited, Isabella opened the letter eagerly.
Dear Her Majesty Isabella,
Yes of course. Hogwarts will be most certainly honored to admit you. Attached to this letter is your school list for the next school year.
Hogwarts welcomes you to a year of learning.
And with that, a gleeful shout filled the halls of the royal palace. “I’m going to Hogwarts!”
King Edward heard a loud shout from her daughter’s bedroom. With this, he ran together with his bodyguards to her room. For somebody who leads a whole magical community, he was fast.
“What’s going on?” His Majesty asked, eyes darting to all sides of the room, looking for an intruder. Instead, all he saw was his daughter jumping up and down her huge mattress. ‘Never have I seen Isabella so happy before,’ he thought to himself.
“I’m accepted father! I’m attending Hogwarts in September!” Isabella shouted in joy.
This wasn’t what he was expecting. His only daughter, going to Hogwarts ALONE for a year? Never was he more furious. The curious light in his face began to fade faster than a speeding bullet, and was replaced by a gloom expression. Seeing this, Isabella’s sparkling eyes dimmed each second. ‘Oh man. He’s so mad at me…’ she thought.
“You are NOT going to Hogwarts!” Edward raged. “ What if something happens to you? What if somebody tries to attack you?”
“Then what’s the use of all those years mastering sword fighting, muggle martial arts and perfecting my magic if you are just going to coop me up here?” she retorted back in anger. Tears were flowing from her eyes. Now she was finally going out of her self-proclaimed prison, her father decides to forbid her.
“That’s my final decision, Isabella Clarisse Renaulde. You are certainly NOT going to that school, do you hear me?” King Edward proclaimed, shutting the door behind him.
“Curses!” Clarisse shouted out loud.
Frank and Elric strolled through the big doors of the Renaulde Palace. Coming home every weekend from their respective manors back to the palace is always a fine day, for they will see their father and strong-willed ‘little Isabella’, as Fred would always say.
“Good Morning Sir Frank.” Henry, the butler would say. “Good Morning Sir Elric.” But the old man never appeared in front of them. ‘Odd,’ both of them thought.
“Mister Henry?” Frank shouted. “Monsieur Henry?”
A small pop was heard and Henry appeared before them, panting as if he ran a mile. The twins looked at him curiously. No butler would pant in front of his master, unless something was completely wrong.
Not a moment to soon, both brothers simultaneously asked, “What is wrong? Is father and Isabella alright?”
The butler shook his head and looked straight down. “Master Edward is pacing in his study. Mistress Isabella is not all right; she has been cooping herself in her room and would not take a bite from any food, and I am trying to coax her to eat as of this hour. Yet Miss Isabella would not budge and is crying her eyes out in her room.”
“Little Isabella is crying?” Sir Frank said. Now both brothers are worried. The twins are very much protective of their only sister, thus both eyes looked murderous at the very thought of Isabella being hurt.
“Yes Sirs.” Henry informed. “Master Edward would not allow her whim.”
“What whim?” Sir Elric asked, eyebrows raised. If it was a carriage, a horse or another doll, or even a set of books, the Renaulde brothers can certainly give it to her without hesitation. Their father can easily use his influence on getting the rarest items she could possibly dream of. Not that Isabella is a spoiled little brat. Little Isabella does not wish for exclusive treatment, wanting only to be as simple as possible. What was this whim that their father would not give in to?
“Mistress Isabella wishes to attend Hogwarts in September.”
Eyes glinting, both brothers apparated to their precious sister’s room.
There she was, crying her heart out while hugging her favorite toy, a doll given to her by her mother before the unfortunate accident. The scene itself broke the brothers’ hearts to pieces. Little Isabella is crying, and they can’t do anything. How it pains them, it is certainly deep.
“Bella…” Elric cooed while approaching his sister. Placing her in his arms, he hugged her tightly as if he could squeeze all the pain out from her.
“Its… its… papa…” Isabella hiccupped. “He…He won’t…”
Coming closer to his two siblings, Frank finished for Isabella. “Let you attend Hogwarts?”
Now Isabella was bewildered. “How?”
“My little Isabella, you are losing your feisty touch. Remember Monsieur Henry?” Elric tatted with a mocking tone. Isabella gave out a hearty laugh.
“Of course, the old windbag…” Isabella remarked. “It can only be him, he’s the only tattletale I know.”
Now the brothers laughed, agreeing with their little princess. After a minute, their faces grew serious.
“Let’s get back to the topic, shall we?” Elric said. Isabella nodded. “Are you dead set on going to Hogwarts?”
“Then I think a talk with father is in order. Come on then.” The royal trio left the room. After a few hours, the concept of a muggleborn Hermione Granger was born and approved, and Isabella is going to Hogwarts!
…Well, that was six years ago. The coming year’s her seventh and last year, and Isabella wouldn’t miss it for the world!
A/N 2: Hehe.. You like? You hate? Tell me so I can improve. Flames are ok, and since I'm now 11 [Happy Birthday To Me!], I can handle stuff like that. So review away!
