Chapter 11: Thank God!
Willow hurried down to the kitchens as soon as she had finished the cleaning for the day.
“Is it ready?” she asked as she swung round the door. She froze staring wide eyed at the scene before her, then screamed. Draco had Ginny pinned against the wall by her throat, his wand pointed at her face. He looked round at the sound of the scream.
“Get out Willow.” He said calmly.
“Let her down, please, let her down.” Willow begged, as Ginny turned blue in the face.
“I said get out, you are not to interrupt disciplinary procedures.” He said sharply.
“And I said let her down.” Willow stated slowly and politely “What is she being punished for anyway?”
“Oh for Merlin’s sake, she was trying to find out the sex of the baby, so we could just go and demand for an abortion or not if necessary.”
“She still didn’t have permission!”
“She was doing me a favour!” cried Willow desperately as Ginny choked and turned purple, and pale at the same time. “Please let her down!” Draco cracked at the tears threatening to flow down Willow’s cheeks and let go of Ginny’s throat. She gasped, at the sudden rush of unrestricted air, and gulped it down, her face returning slowly to its usual colour.
“Did you finish the potion Weasel?” Ginny nodded slowly. “Give her some.” He snapped, Ginny rose slowly to her feet and picked up a shallow dish off the table.
“Spit in it.” She whispered.
“What?” asked Willow
“I need your saliva to complete the potion. That will determine the sex of the baby.”
Willow spat into the dish, and Ginny tipped it into the cauldron, then she began to stir, Willow crossed her fingers and Draco looked on with hunger in his eyes. Several minutes passed, Draco began to grow impatient.
“What’s taking it so long?”
“I have to stir it slowly for five minutes before the colour begins to change. But I have to tell you, this is only 75% accurate, so it might not be correct.”
“What do you mean 75% accurate?” snapped Draco
“I mean it gets it right three time in four.”
“Oh be quiet Draco, it’s tense enough in here without you having a go at everybody.” Cried Willow, who looked on the verge of tears.
Draco moved over to her, and put his arm around her. She didn’t shrug him off as Ginny expected her to, she stared at the cauldron as the seconds ticked by. Suddenly the colour of the potion began to change, it went from pearly white, to black and then began to grow lighter until it turned lilac, then as Ginny continued stirring, it turned slowly blue.
“I don’t believe it!” Draco yelled in glee. Willow said nothing, but tears started to leak down her cheeks, she pulled away from Draco, and moved towards the door, but he grabbed her arm and pulled her back towards him. “We’re going to have a son.”
“No.” said Willow quietly.
“What?” snapped Draco
“I will not have your Son.” She said pulling away from him.
“You will, you have no choice.”
“I’d rather die than be the mother of you’re child!” Willow screamed. “There’s no curse attaching me to this house, or to you! I’m leaving.”
“No you’re not.” Said Malfoy calmly. “Not unless you want her to die.” He pointed his wand at Ginny. “You seemed keen to keep her alive before, now she has sealed your fate for you, are you sure you still feel the same way?” He grinned, knowing that she would not permit anything to be killed because of her.
“I’m sorry master, I will not attempt to leave again.”
“The potion could be wrong, I will have to do it four times to be sure.” Said Ginny, desperate to change the outcome, with the fixed potion she had prepared in case.
“No Weasel once is enough.” Drawled Draco, “My fiancé and I have things to discuss, with our mother.”
He steered Willow out of the kitchen leaving Ginny standing next to the cauldron, full of swirling blue pearly liquid. She kicked it and it fell over, despite her efforts to help Willow, she had just made things worse.
Willow lay in Draco’s bed facing away from him while he played with her long hair. She had refused to look at him after he had dragged her out of the kitchen. Finally he had given up on trying to talk about the wedding and suggested that they go to bed, but he had refused to let her go up to the attic and made her sleep in his bed for the second night running. She lay there thinking, about Ginny, about the baby growing in her womb, about the world outside. Draco slipped his arm around her middle and pulled her close to him.
"Draco, are we allowed to get married?"
"Your mother has given permission."
"But, we're related, surely it's illeagal?"
"Not unless we are blood relatives, which we aren't, so as long as my mother gives permission, we can get married, so you're stuck with me."
He kissed the back of her neck and rubbed her stomach. She stiffened, she didn’t want him to touch her, she hated him, or did she?
