Her and her friend looked, Kelly Sommer, looked around for their families. Lily had to stand on tippy-toe to try and see her parents. She thought she saw her mothers blond hair a few times but it never was her. She figured Petunia was throwing a fit about having to pick her up. She was probably saying something like her parents shouldn’t have to pick her up because she should be able to fly a broom or magic carpet or something. Lily was going to give her sister hell this summer. She could finally do magic outside of school. Lily smiled at the thought. “I see my parents” Kelly said. Lily turned and looked at her friend. “Ok,” Lily said. She hugged her friend. They promised to write and Kelly left with her things. Lily went back to looking around for her parents. “Hey Evens” Lily groaned at the voice behind her. “What do you want Potter?” she asked, not turning to look at him. “Just wondering why you’re not apperating. You did pass your apperating test didn’t you?” Potter said. Lily rolled her eyes. He knew she did. He was just trying to find a reason to talk to her. “Yes Potter. Now go away” she said. “Tsk tsk, you’re a prefect Ms.Evens. You should know to be more polite” he said. Lily ignored him. She had just seen her parents. “MOM! DAD!” Lily yelled. Lily ran up to her parents. She jumped into her dads arms and her dad lifted her up. Lily was light and her dad was still fairly strong. “How are you?” Lily’s mom asked her. “I’m perfect. How are you?” Lily looked around. “Where’s Pat?” she asked, using the nickname she had given her sister even though her sister hated it when people called her that. “She stayed at home” her father said. “Oh” Lily said. She wasn’t surprised or disappointed. Her and her sister had never really gotten along. When Lily found out she was a witch, it had just gotten worse. Lily looked back to where she had left her stuff, and Potter. Fortunately, her stuff was still there. Unfortunately, Potter was too. Lily walked over to get her trolley. Her parents followed. Lily thought that Potter was going to let her go without saying anything, but he didn’t. “Have a good summer Lily” he called as she walked away. Lily pretended she didn’t hear him. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Lily walked inside, carrying her trunk. "Pat! I'm home!" she called. She lifted her wand. "Lamia" she cried and confetti came out of the end of her wand. "I'm not cleaning that up" Petunia said as she came down the stairs. Lily rolled her eyes. She waved her wand and the confetti disappeared. “Petunia, welcome your sister home” Lily’s dad said. Lily and Petunia hugged. But only for a few seconds before Lily broke the hug. “I’m going to go unpack” Lily said. She took, her wand, and levitated her trunk up the stairs. She let her trunk fall to the floor at the foot of her bed. She opened it and pulled out some of her clothes. She walked over to her dresser and started putting things away. She decided it was to quiet and turned on the stereo. She started to hum along to the song. “Lily?” Lily heard her mother at her door. “Come in” Lily said, putting away some quills and parchment she had left over. Lily’s mother came in. “We have new neighbors” she said as she sat down on Lily’s bed. Lily stopped and looked at her mother. “Someone moved into the old Hatchet house?” Lily asked. That house had been empty since Lily could remember. For some odd reason, nobody wanted to the house. “Yes. The Petersons or… something. I should probably figure out what it is before they come over for dinner tomorrow” her mother said. Lily laughed. “That would be good,” she said. Lily went back to putting her things away. “They have a son,” her mother mentioned. “He’s about your age. I haven’t actually met him but they told me about him. He was accepted into an expensive school somewhere. They didn’t mention where.” Lily nodded. “So what time are they coming over tomorrow?” she asked. “Seven. Their son will be coming too. He came home today. Like you. You don’t go home with someone named Peterson do you?” her mother asked. Lily thought about it for a second. “No” she said. She went to school with Longbottom, Potter, Black, Pettigrew, and Lupin. No Peterson. “Ok. Welcome home hun,” her mom said and left. Lily went back to unpacking. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* When was finished packing, she looked at the clock. It was 3:20. She still had a lot of time left before dinner. She decided to go for a walk. She went downstairs, told her parents and left. She walked around the block and was about to pass a park where she used to play when she heard a voice she really didn’t want to hear behind her. She turned around. “Evens” Potter called. “What are you doing here Potter?” Lily asked, trying to put as much dislike into her voice as she could. “Is that any way to speak to your new neighbor?” he asked. Lily gaped at him. “What?” was all she could manage to get out. “Yup. We just moved in next door” he told her. “But… but… why?” Lily asked. “My parents figure it’s safer to live in a muggle neighborhood. You know, with Voldermort running around killing everyone”. Lily was willing herself to wake up from this horrible dream. She must have been dreaming. What were the chances that the boy she hated most at her school moved in right next door to her? "Just stay away from me Potter" Lily said when she didn't wake up. She conitinued walking, picking up her pace to try and lose Potter. She knew she wouldn't but maybe he would take a hint. Doubtful but, maybe. "You know we're coming over for dinner tomorrow night, right?" James asked following her. Lily sighed. "That doesn't mean I have to see you everyday" she said. Potter laughed. "Yeah... sure" he said like he didn't beleive it. Lily stopped and looked at him. "What's that supposed to mean?" she asked. He shook his head. "Nothing". He smiled, "Bye Evens" he said and he walked away. Lily watched him for a minute. He was her neighbor. When she came home she had to face her sister but she got away from him. Now, she had to deal with both of them at the same time. Lily groaned and walked in the oppisite direction of Potter. She dreaded the next days dinner. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ A/N I know this one was kinda short. I'm going to make my other ones longer. Hopefully. I'm working on it.
