sites that are a part of FanFictionWorld.net. It may not be copied in
whole or part in any form (electronic or otherwise) without the prior
consent of the owner.
HarryPotterFanFiction.com
is an unofficial, not for profit fan site, and is in no way connected
with J.K. Rowling, Scholastic Books, Bloomsbury Publishing or Warner
Bros. It is not endorsed by any of the aforementioned parties. Rights
to characters and their images is neither claimed nor implied.
Although we provide links to other websites, we are not responsible
for any material at these sites. You acknowledge that you link to
these other web sites at your own risk.
All
members and visitors to our web site must comply with and understand
the following:

discussion boards, fiction archive, and outbound links for material
we consider inappropriate, but does not guarantee suitability of
content for all readers. You acknowledge that
HarryPotterFanFiction.com is viewed/read at your own risk. If you
come across material which you find offensive or inappropriate,
please contact

While
the administrators and moderators of this site will attempt to remove
or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible,
it is impossible to review every post/story. Therefore you
acknowledge that all posts made to this site express the views and
opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or
webmaster and hence they will not be held liable.

Although we provide links to other web sites, we are not responsible
for any material at these sites. You acknowledge that you visit these
other web sites at your own risk.
III.
Any information given to us (email address, name, etc...) will not be
given to anyone outside the staff of this site and will be used ONLY
for contact purposes concerning this site. We will not email you
unless it directly concerns this site. While this information will
not be disclosed to any third party without your consent, the
webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible
for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised

agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful,
threatening or any other such material that may violate any
applicable laws. This includes but is not limited to stories/posts
containing objectionable material such as sexual abuse, threats to
members/staff, hate material and racism. You also agree not to 'spam'
any area of the site or its users. Doing so may lead to you being
immediately and permanently banned from the site and any account held
by you will be removed. In special cases, your internet service

right to be the sole judge in whether a story/post fits any of these

1:
Stories
submitted to this archive MUST be original fan fiction works.
Reproduction of copyright material is illegal and is forbidden.
Any material found to be copied from another source or author will be
deleted and the author will be removed from the archive.
If
you discover a story which you believe to be plagiarized, please
contact
the staff
immediately via e-mail or through our helpdesk.
1a:
Submitted
stories should be backed up. While
we continually monitor the server and make regular backups, these are
primarily to preserve our software and database setup. HPFF make no
promise to archive your stories as an alternative to you making a
backup. While we make every endeavour to safely store submitted
stories, we cannot be held responsible for circumstances beyond our
control, such as server crashes and hacking attempts etc. which may
cause any submitted material to be irretrievably lost.
2:
Rating
your story.
In order to submit stories to our site, authors are asked to
familiarise themselves with our rating system in order to
appropriately rate their work. Please check the rating before reading
a story. If you do not meet the standards implied by these ratings,
you agree not to read the story. The staff will not be held
responsible for users reading material which is marked as unsuitable
for their age.. Our rating system is described below.
12+:
Directed to Readers Over 12 Years of Age: This story is designed for
children age 12 and above. It may be more appropriate for children
who have acquired the developmental skills needed to distinguish
between make-believe and reality. Themes and elements in this story
may include mild fantasy or comedic violence, or may frighten
children under the age of 12. Therefore, parents may wish to consider
the suitability of this story for their very young children. It
contains little or no violence, no strong language and little or no
sexual dialogue or situations.
15+:
Parents
Cautioned, Directed to Older Teenage Readers: This story contains
some material that many parents would find unsuitable for children
under 15 years of age. Parents are strongly urged to exercise greater
care in monitoring this story and are cautioned against letting
children under the age of 15 read this story unmonitored. This story
contains one or more of the following: mild violence, non-graphic
sexual situations, occasional strong language, or suggestive
dialogue.
Mature
Teen :
Mature
Audience Only: This story is specifically designed to be read by a
mature audience and therefore may be unsuitable for persons under 17.
This story contains one or more of the following: intense non-graphic
violence, explicit non-graphic sexual activity, or crude indecent
language.
Disallowed
Material:
This site does not accept material it's staff considers to be NC-17
in nature. Stories involving graphic sex and/or extreme violence
should be labeled NC-17. The reasons for the application of an NC-17
rating can be violence or sex or aberrational behavior or drug abuse
or any other elements which, when present, would be considered too
strong and therefore off-limits for children. Any such material will
not be allowed on HarryPotterFanFiction.com. All reasonable efforts
are made by the owner and staff to keep such material from being
posted on this site.
If
we receive complaints about a story we may alter its rating or remove
it at our discretion.
3:
Stories only please. We will not accept lists, interactive writing,
or anything similar.
4:
Validation and Trusted Authors. As mentioned previously, all stories
are checked for suitability before being posted to our archive,
however, authors may be deemed by the staff as "trusted" at
which time their stories will appear on the site immediately. This
can take place after several updates or only a few, depending on the
author, subject matter, etc... While our archive does not
discriminate based on spelling, grammar, characterization, etc...
authors who write stories which are spell checked, use paragraphs and
have chapters that are of higher quality are likely to receive
Trusted Author status quicker as they are obviously interested in
what they are doing and have put effort into their story. Trusted
authors who abuse the privilege will be removed from the 'trusted'
list and have to wait to be validated when posting.
5:
Removal
of account/story: Any
authors found abusing the site, other users or staff will be warned
and if they continue to do so, will have their accounts removed.
Major incidents of abuse will result in immediate removal of the
author's account. The review area is to be used to review stories
only. Anyone found abusing it or using it as a chat area will be
warned, suspended and have their account deleted if the warning is
ignored. Abuse
of the software: Any
author who abuses the site by trying shortcuts to get validated, push
themselves up the Recently Added list, etc... will have their
accounts deleted. The webmaster, administrator and moderators are not
obliged to provide valid reasons if requested.
5a:
Removal of stories:NC-17/Copyright
material is removed immediately for legal reasons - stories with
overly spammed review threads are removed. Authors whose stories
contain other violations will be contacted by the staff (please note
it is your responsibility to give us a working email address and to
check you can receive our mail) and given seven days to amend the
violation before a staff member removes the stories. All
content removed by the site owner and staff is permanently gone and
in no way recoverable. This includes chapters, stories, and reviews.
Always back up your material.
5b:
Rejection of submitted stories. Stories
may be rejected for a number of reasons. An e-mail is sent with each
chapter rejection. If you have not received an e-mail regarding the
rejection of your story, please check our FAQ's. Due to the amount of
daily submissions, the staff of HarryPotterFanFiction.com will not be
able to repair and amend violations in your stories. Stories will be
rejected for corrections where needed.
5c: Multiple accounts used for self promotion/reviews. Any archive member who registers multiple accounts for the purpose of self promotion or to review their own stories will have their account/s removed.
Additional
areas of the site contain specific rules relevant only to those
areas.
Please
note that this document may change as and when the need arises. It is
the users responsibility to follow changes. (Last updated: 10 February
