We have put a google search button on our story search page here to allow you to use Google to search HPFF. (Once you click that link, you can find the Google search at the very top of the page.)

If you are aware how to use Google fully, using quotes or excluding terms for example, this may prove to be a very helpful addition to the site. At the moment we are testing it and would appreciate any comments.

Thanks.

That was so easy to find what I was looking for. I would like to see this feature stay on the site.

I like both. If I google a quote from somebody's story it comes up with a link to that direct story, same for story title, even penname. Hpff has a good search too, but its not as effective as the google links to the same source.

Ah, that search is AWESOME! I googled 'Oliver Wood, Penelope Clearwater, brother, library' and it came up with the exact story I've been racking my brains for weeks to remember!

I think it should stay :D

It was easy to use and it found what I was looking every time but I think HPFF search form is preferred because I can single it down to just the stories I want and the format of the search results are easier to read in the normal HPFF search form.

I like how easy it is to use if you're searching for something very specific, a selection of just a few stories - I typed in "murder mystery" and found exactly the sort of story I wanted straight away! So I think it should definitely stay for more specific searches :)

I like it for looking up stories you don't know the title/author of, but the normal HPFF one is much better for narrowing the search for a new sptory to read that meaes certian standards. If we can only have one or the other, I want to keep the original.

It's still there, Millarz. :) Once you get to the story search page (or just click the link that Jay has in his post), you can find the Google searchbar at the very top of the page.

I think it's handy! For some searches it's easier to use the normal search but for others the google search is easier (and you can look up more/other things as well). I think it should stay :)

Wow I didn't see that at all the first time! It kind of looks like a pop up and some people already have toolbars there so they might not notice it. Is it possible to make that more prominent? Other than that, I really like it! I want it to stay too! I think it would especially help when you were reading a story but then forgot the title. It's happened to me before. I think this search bar is very helpful!

Actually, that's where you can usually find it, but it's not there at the moment.
