We have made some changes to the beta requesting area and the challenge area to attempt to make them easier to use.
  • You are now permitted to bump your beta requests after SEVEN (7) days. Forum rules about double posting and bumping still apply everywhere else. Please read the beta area rules (12+) for a complete list of the beta area rules.
  • The old Quick Betas thread has been deleted and a new one (12+) started. We will be trying to keep it more up to date so that it is easier to actually find a quick beta. If you are a member whose beta request has been sitting unfilled for some time, you may consider contacting one of the quick betas to get at least one chapter beta read.
  • We are also bringing one more exciting change to the challenge area. On the 1st and 15th of each month, a challenge that stands out to the mods as being particularly outstanding for some reason will be pinned and featured.

I like this! Will have to think creatively for challenges! I like the abandoned challenge rule, nothing worse than signing up for a challenge and never getting an answer.

My new beta has expressed interest in doing beta work. I've sent her a pm concerning the quick beta section.
And I agree with coppertop concerning not getting an answer where abandoned challenges are concerned. Two challenges I entered had been abandoned and I never knew about them. I just found out by chance. So anything to toughen that side up is great.

Oh this will be really helpful. The beta area always confused me...now it looks like it will be much easier to navigate. Thanks!

This is a brilliant plan :) Do we need to post again in the new Quick Betas thread, if we were offering our services in the last one?

Edit: I see that we do! No worries ;)

I like the changes!! Especially the 1st and the 15th Featured Challenge section :) And it's good that strict action is being taken about Abandoned challenges, that really irks me if I post in a challenge and never get a response.

So thank you staffers :)
