Summary/Story Synopsis When Gryffindor Peter Pettigrew and Hufflepuff Hestia Jones begin to date, they are considered Hogwarts' cutest couple. Why, then, do they spend their lives separated and miserable? And why does Hestia, the faithful Order member, write her story from Azkaban, alone in a cell? This is Rat, the story of cowardice, love, and coercion that surrounds the downfall of Peter Pettigrew.
Why You Would Recommend It Well, it's not gotten very far yet, but the whole idea of a Peter love interest fascinates me. Peter is portrayed interestingly in his school days, through the eyes of a regular Hufflepuff girl (Hestia Jones) who we get to know through the Order later. The ideas seem original and interesting. Juicyjuice is giving Peter a lot more thought than people usually do, and I think this story is worth watching to see how things turn out. Well written.

Summary/Story Synopsis He wins and she wins and they all walk on boxes of fragile light bulbs. He never knew love or summer or cotton sheets. She never knew how to tell the difference. Together, they knew nonlove, or perhaps it was an odd form of love, disguised in competition and cupidity and cooked into apple pie.
Why You Would Recommend It This story is written so poetically and portrays Peter in a different way then he usually is portrayed. This story is incrediably unique from other Peter stories in many ways. Overall, I love this story.

Summary/Story Synopsis
Nobody really knows what the afterlife is like. Some people imagine a paradise for the righteous and eternal suffering for the sinners. On the night that Peter Pettigrew died, he experienced one last terrible conversation with a man he had once called his friend. He also found that, in his estimation, the afterlife was less like either of the previously described alternatives and more like a sitting room. Response to the challenge by Wannabe.
Why You Would Recommend It A dark and disturbing look at how James would react if he met Peter in the afterlife.

Summary/Story Synopsis I like to believe I grew up some over the years. But seated between three Death Eaters – though they looked like any other person in the pub – I could feel myself slipping back into the boy I once was. What did they want from me? I couldn't offer them anything. And I certainly didn't want to.
Why You Would Recommend It In this, Peter gets to tell for himself the events that led to his betrayal of the Potters, how he was cornered by Voldemort and his subsequent manipulations of both sides with only one aim in mind: survival. It's incredibly realistic and fits perfectly into canon.

Summary/Story Synopsis Peter Pettigrew has always been one thing, and one a thing only: a coward. Now, at the moment of his death, he is confronted with his locked away memories, the deepest corners of his soul that he'd rather leave untouched. Suddenly, he is faced with the overwhelming prospect of death and what it truly means to love and be loved.
Why You Would Recommend It killinglonely basically nails Peter Pettigrew. His moment of death is explored specifically what he realizes about his own life and what had driven him to betray his best friends and his regrets in the end and how Harry's own actions affect him. This author basically takes your insides and twists them so you actually are there with Peter in this harrowing moment.

Why You Would Recommend It This story just blew me away with its characterization. It fits in very well with what little we know of canon Peter and delves into the dirty nitty-gritty of his decision to reveal the Potters' location. The imagery is also very impressive and chilling. I think it deserves some attention, especially given the lack of Peter-centric stories on the archive.

Summary/Story Synopsis

A flash of blue light from two wands hits me and I'm subjected to a sensation that I haven't felt in twelve long years. I'm just able to remember how to stand on two feet and glance toward the only available exit when Remus speaks.

"Well, hello, Peter. Long time no see."
The story of Peter Pettigrew's last moments as Scabbers the rat.

Why You Would Recommend It First of all, this story is written in the present tense -- which you don't see very often -- and is really well done. The characterization of Pettigrew is really spot-on, the pace is fast and exciting, and the author's use of language makes it a very captivating and enjoyable read.

Why You Would Recommend It

I loved reading this story. It showed how life would be for Harry and Sirius if things had gone differently with Peter Pettigrew. It was written beautifully and you end up feeling your heart ache - wishing that JK Rowling had given Harry and his godfather this more cheerful ending.
